Abstract

A method for controlling a flue gas scrubber in a high-pressure melamine plant, in which the recirculated urea stream is cooled in a urea cooler, which is a shell-and-tube heat exchanger outside the scrubber, before being reintroduced into the scrubber, where the heat removed from the urea stream in the urea cooler is controlled by regulating the pressure of the stream generated on the shell side of the urea cooler.
