Abstract

A Doherty power amplifier (PA) includes a main amplifier (120), an auxiliary amplifier (130), and a power division and phase shift circuit (350) configured to receive an input radio frequency (RF) signal, divide the input RF signal into a first RF signal and a second RF signal, output the first RF signal to an input of the main amplifier (120), output the second RF signal to an input of the auxiliary amplifier (130). The Doherty PA also includes a shunt inductor (346) coupled to an output of the main amplifier (120), a shunt capacitor (348) coupled to an output of the auxiliary amplifier (130), and a transformer (510). The transformer (510) includes a first inductor (515) coupled between an output of the main amplifier (120) and an output of the auxiliary amplifier (130), and a second inductor (520) magnetically coupled to the first inductor (515).
