Abstract

A mains-powered device mounting plate (1) is for mounting of a fire alarm device to a ceiling with a mains wiring connection. The mounting plate has a generally circular body (2) with holes (4) for affixing to a ceiling, and an aperture (25) for training of wires through the plate body. A terminal block (20) is located next to this aperture and has terminals (30, 50, 70, 100) having a wiring interface (26) with openings (33, 53, 73, 103) to receive terminations of wires that have been trained through said aperture, and a device interface (22) with terminal connectors (46, 66, 86, 116) for electrical engagement with device connectors (1001) in a sliding action. Each terminal has multiple wiring interface openings (33, 35, 35) and associated wiring connectors (200) so that up to three wire terminations of the same potential or signal can be individually engaged in a single terminal (30, 50, 70, 100).The wiring interface (26) is sloped for ease of access, the individual terminals may be separated, and they may be collectively or individually released (31, 32) from the plate body (2). There is an individual actuator rod (41, 42, 43) with an exposed slot in the top face of the terminal for individual release of each wiring interface connector, by pressing down against a leaf spring contactor (223).
