Abstract

The image displayed in the front view image display area is an image for the scroll guide function when a user attempts to scroll a GUI displayed in a so-called xR space such as virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) with their fingers. When fingers are placed in the user's field of view through the head-mounted display, a gradient shadow is displayed in the overlapping area between the GUI and the finger image (enlarged view 1 of the image displayed in the image display area). As the fingers are extended further back, the width of the gradient narrows, giving the impression that the fingers are moving closer to the GUI (enlarged view 2 of the image displayed in the image display area). When the fingers are extended to the scroll position, the gradient disappears, giving the impression that the fingers are touching the GUI (enlarged view 3 of the image displayed in the image display area).
