Pointing guide function image

Abstract

The image displayed in the image section is an image for the pointing guide function when a user attempts to point at a GUI displayed in a so-called xR space such as virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) using their fingers. When a user's fingers are placed in the xR space, a gradient shadow is displayed in the area where the GUI, such as buttons or sliders, overlaps with the finger image (Image). As the fingers are extended further back, the width of the gradient narrows, giving the impression that the fingers are moving closer to the GUI (Image 1 showing the change in state). When the fingers are extended to the pointing position, the gradient disappears, giving the impression that the fingers are touching the GUI (Image 2 showing the change in state).
