Abstract
This product is a sensor for measuring the solidification temperature of molten metal. As shown in the enlarged cross-sectional view along the line B-B' of the AA portion showing the names of each part and the enlarged cross-sectional view along the line D-D' of the CC portion showing the names of each part, a socket equipped with a fixture through which a thermocouple is inserted is attached to the tip of a cardboard tube. The tip of the thermocouple is housed in a cylindrical container formed by baking coated sand for casting. The tip of the cardboard tube and the outer periphery of the container are covered with a ceramic fiber exterior. The internal space of the container is open to the outside through a quartz glass inlet pipe. A quartz glass exhaust pipe that connects the side of the container to the outside is inserted into the exterior along the longitudinal direction of the cardboard tube. A pair of wires extend from the rear end of the thermocouple, one of which is folded back from the rear end of the socket to the inside, and the other is folded back inside the socket from a position slightly closer to the tip than the rear end of the socket, passing through the socket and folding back inside, each forming an electrode. As shown in the reference cross-sectional diagram showing the usage state, when the outer casing is immersed in molten metal with the conductor inserted from the rear end of the paper tube and inserted into the socket, the molten metal flows into the container through the inlet pipe. The gas generated at this time is exhausted from the exhaust pipe. When the inside of the container is filled with molten metal, the outer casing is pulled out of the molten metal, and the temperature change as the molten metal inside the container cools and solidifies is measured by the thermocouple.
