Abstract

The present article is a seal member fixed to an end of a slider that slides on a rail in a machine tool, a 3D printer, or the like in the sliding direction, and is slidably engaged with the rail to prevent foreign matter, etc. from entering the slider side. As shown in the reference perspective view showing the function of each part, the present article has a first seal material part and a second seal material part along the sliding direction. These seal material parts are arranged to contact the rail and prevent the intrusion of foreign matter, etc. As shown in the enlarged reference cross-sectional view of part B, the first seal material part is configured to cover the periphery of a core material with a cylindrical body (a cylindrical knitted body), and the second seal material part is a cut pile part containing a large number of pile yarns. The first seal material part and the second seal material part are seal material parts having different functions. As shown in the reference perspective view showing the usage state, the present article may be used in a state where it is arranged in an outer frame body. In addition, in the present article, for example, the support body may have a notch as shown in the reference perspective view showing a modified example of the support body. According to this configuration, the support body can be easily fitted to the rail by opening and closing the cutout portion.
