Abstract

This article is a seal member fixed to an end of a slider that slides on a rail in a machine tool, a 3D printer, or the like in the sliding direction, and is slidably engaged with the rail to prevent foreign matter, etc. from entering the slider side. As shown in the reference perspective view showing the function of each part, this article has a first seal material part, a second seal material part, and a third seal material part in this order along the sliding direction. These seal material parts are arranged so as to contact the rail, and prevent the intrusion of foreign matter, etc. As shown in the enlarged reference cross-sectional view of part B, the first seal material part is configured by covering the periphery of a core material with a cylindrical body (a cylindrical knitted body), the second seal material part is a cut pile part including a large number of pile yarns, and the third seal material part is a resin part made of foamed resin, etc. The first seal material part, the second seal material part, and the third seal material part are seal material parts having different functions. As shown in the reference perspective view showing the usage state, this article may be used in a state where it is arranged in an outer frame body. In this case, the first seal, the second seal and the third seal may be fixed in a predetermined position with the support disposed in the outer frame. In addition, in the present article, for example, the support may have a notch as shown in the reference perspective view showing a modified example of the support. With this configuration, the support can be easily fitted to the rail by opening and closing the notch.
