Abstract

This article is a rocker panel for reinforcing the side sill of an automobile. In the reference perspective view 1, the exterior parts constituting the side sill of the automobile are indicated by dotted lines. This article extends substantially over its entire length within the side sill. This article protects the vehicle body including the side sill from deformation when the vehicle collides with an obstacle such as that shown by a cylinder in the reference perspective view 2. The overall length of this rocker panel is 1 m to 2.5 m depending on the type and size of the vehicle.
