Urinary incontinence prevention device

Abstract

This product is a urine leakage prevention device that shields the gap that forms between the top of the toilet bowl and the bottom of the seat in a Western-style toilet. It slopes forward toward the seat and extends to the bottom of the gap, as shown in the "Reference End View of the Cross Section along Line CC." This prevents urine from leaking out of the toilet bowl when, for example, a man urinates while sitting on a Western-style toilet. This urine leakage prevention device is curved in a downward convex shape, as shown in the "Front View," to ensure uniform attachment to the inner edge of the toilet seat. It also has a protruding portion that protrudes from the inside of the seat to hide the shielding portion from the user sitting on the seat. This protruding portion blocks the user's view, concealing the shielding portion that may be soiled with urine or loose stools. With the toilet seat raised, this product is designed by inserting an elastic rubber band equipped with a fastening means, such as a hook-and-loop fastener, through the slit, bending it along the inner edge of the seat while the guide and auxiliary guide members are placed against the underside of the seat, adjusting the attachment strength with the rubber band, and fastening the hook-and-loop fastener to attach it to the seat. The product is then used with the seat lowered. The fastening means, such as the hook-and-loop fastener, is located in the gap between the top surface of the toilet bowl and the underside of the seat, and the seat is pulled downward by the user's own weight, preventing the product from being removed while sitting and from falling off. Additionally, it is preferable to attach the guide and auxiliary guide members to the underside of the seat with adhesive means, such as double-sided tape or pressure-sensitive adhesive tape, to secure the product to the seat and improve adhesion. In this urine leakage prevention device, the shielding portion is angled downward away from the seated user, preventing urination droplets from splashing downward and reaching the user. The urine leakage prevention device of this article is made of a synthetic resin that has flexibility, elasticity and water resistance, such as silicone rubber, and can be fitted closely to toilet seats with different curvatures.
