Abstract

As shown in the reference exploded perspective view, this item has a plate-shaped sliding scale slidably disposed on a plate-shaped gauge body, length scales formed on the front and back of the gauge body, and the height of each scale line on the length scale is different in a stepped manner, i.e., a stepped scale, a reading indicator is formed on the surface of the sliding scale, and a finger hook projection with a roughly triangular prism-like ridge is fixedly disposed on the surface of the sliding scale. For example, as shown in reference diagram (1) showing the usage state, after butt welding a pair of base materials having a groove, to measure the height of the excess weld bead at the welded portion, the gauge body of this item is placed upright on one of the base materials, and the sliding scale is slid with the finger of the measurer relative to the gauge body, and the measurement point at the lower end of the sliding scale is brought into contact with the weld bead at the welded portion, and the excess weld bead height is read using the reading indicator on the surface of the sliding scale and the length scale on the surface of the gauge body. This welding gauge is used to measure the fillet height of a weld, and, for example, as shown in reference diagram (2) showing the state of use, after fillet welding of a flange material and a web material, the gauge body of this product is placed at an angle of 45°, and the measurement point at the tip of the sliding scale is brought into contact with the weld bead at the weld location, and the fillet throat thickness of the weld bead is measured using the reading indicator on the surface of the sliding scale and the length scale on the surface of the gauge body. Also, as shown in reference diagram (3) showing the state of use, after fillet welding of the flange material and a web material, the gauge body of this product is placed upright on the flange material, the rotating scale is rotated by a rotating pin, and the measurement point at the tip of the rotating scale is brought into contact with the intersection of the weld bead and the web material at the weld location, and the leg length of the weld bead is measured using the reading indicator on the surface of the rotating scale and the length scale on the back of the gauge body.
