Card reader

Abstract

This product is a card reader used in retail stores, banks, public facilities, etc. This product is capable of three processes: facial authentication of cardholders who own cards such as My Number cards; character recognition on the card face; and matching of card information using NFC (near field communication), and can perform one or more processes depending on the settings. The face camera (a face photographing device that photographs the face of the card holder) required for facial authentication of the cardholder is provided separately outside the product, and the cardholder's face authentication (identity authentication) process is performed by matching a biometric facial image taken by the face camera with a facial image taken on the card face by the product's face camera. Furthermore, as shown in the "Reference diagram showing the names of each part" and the "AA reference end view omitting the internal mechanism," this item comprises a tempered glass plate on whose top surface the card is placed (set), a guide section that guides the card to a predetermined position on the top surface of this tempered glass plate, a card face camera that photographs the card face, two pairs of first lighting sections that illuminate the card face from the lower side of the tempered glass plate, and four second lighting sections that are positioned near the four corners of the top surface of the item and that use light to indicate the processing status of the item.
