Abstract

This article is a breathable tape warp-knitted using a double Russell machine. The warp-knit breathable tape of this article has one band portion, another band portion, and a breathable portion made of multiple filament yarns connecting the one band portion and the other band portion in a direction perpendicular to the band surface direction. The article can be used to impart breathability to the seam of a garment by inserting the article into the seam between two fabrics constituting the garment. For example, by inserting the article into the boundary between the crown and brim of a hat, or the boundary between the back yoke and back body of a shirt, breathability can be imparted to the area. Another use of the article is to form a partition between the down chambers in downwear. Conventional downwear is constructed with multiple down chambers sealed to prevent down migration, which can lead to problems such as down chamber rupture and down leakage. By forming partitions between the down chambers with this article, ventilation between the down chambers can be ensured while preventing down migration. It can be folded with little air resistance. In this case, it is preferable to join the fabric and the belt portion of the article by adhesive rather than by sewing.
