Abstract
This roller is used to recreate the original sprayed tile pattern on walls and ceilings after smoothing it out with a concrete spall repair or other repair technique. (This pattern could previously only be achieved with a compressor, air hose, or spray gun.) After applying the acrylic tile base with a separate roller, a handle with a shaft is attached to the roller. Paint thinner (to prevent sticking) is applied to the roller's surface, and the roller is rolled with slight pressure to create the original sprayed tile pattern. The roller's pudding-shaped outer surface features a textured surface that mirrors the original sprayed tile pattern. The inner cylinder is hollow, allowing it to be attached to a roller handle with a shaft. This allows for beautifully recreating the original pattern when working on inside corners of walls and window frames. The uneven patterns shown in each figure were actually created by molding with silicone from a spray-painted board sample that had been finished with a bead-blown, sprayed pattern.
