Abstract

This device is a closed-top trap with an open ceiling for capturing wild animals such as boars and deer. In recent years, crop damage caused by wild animals has become increasingly serious, and open-top traps have attracted attention because they can be used by farmers without a hunting license. However, conventional closed-top traps have the problem of animals climbing up the sides and escaping through openings in the ceiling. This device was created to solve this problem. The left and right sides and the front and back, including the doors, are all made of flat, smooth panels. The front and back doors are attached to the outside of the front and back panels, so even when closed, there are no protruding parts that provide a foothold for animals. Therefore, even if a captured animal attempts to escape through the ceiling, it cannot climb over the sides or doors, thereby preventing escape. The above-mentioned panels can be constructed by combining commercially available concrete formwork panels (e.g., dimensions: 900mm x 1800mm), making them relatively inexpensive and easy to manufacture. The left and right side panels may be arranged horizontally in a vertical direction or vertically in a parallel direction, allowing for a configuration suited to the application.
