Guide pins for bone drilling

Abstract

Used in orthopedics and other medical fields, for example, it guides the direction of drilling when creating holes in bone. To facilitate understanding of the design's usage, a reference perspective view showing its use in the medical field is attached. Furthermore, a magnified reference perspective view of the tip is attached to clarify its structure. The tip has a first thinning surface and a second thinning surface, with a first cutting edge and a second cutting edge formed at the boundary between these thinning surfaces and a common relief surface. This structure enhances machinability and prevents the tip from slipping on the workpiece surface during drilling. Additionally, two notched planes are formed extending from the tip towards the rear end.
