Abstract

This item is a lure (worm) used for octopus fishing. It is made of a flexible material and shaped to resemble a crustacean such as a crayfish. It is used attached to a hook rig, for example, as shown in the "Reference Diagram Showing the Names of Each Part." In this example, the hook rig consists of a core rod with a fishing hook, a ball, and a worm attachment rod. This item has a hook rig attachment hole, as shown in the "AA Cross-Sectional View." Therefore, as shown in the "Reference Perspective View from the Rear Side Showing the Usage State," the worm attachment rod is passed through the hook rig attachment hole, and the hook at the tip of the worm attachment rod is hooked onto the core rod, thereby attaching the item to the hook rig. As shown in red in the "Reference Diagram Showing Air Pockets," air is trapped inside the areas corresponding to the claws and tail. Therefore, during use, buoyancy in the sea tends to cause the air pockets to face upwards. Therefore, when it lies on the seabed (with the longitudinal direction of the needle arrangement aligned with the seabed), the surface shown in the front view tends to face upwards, and the surface shown in the rear view tends to face downwards (towards the seabed). In other words, when viewed from above, the item is likely to land in the state shown in the front view. Moreover, the claws are raised, mimicking the intimidation behavior of crustaceans.
