Abstract

To provide a document reading device that can easily determine the presence / absence of dirt in an area where information for detecting a size of a document is acquired.SOLUTION: A document reading device 1 comprises: a document board 11; a line sensor 14 and an object recognition sensor 16 that detect information that is changed in accordance with a size of a document in an area of one part of the document board 11; and a determination part 35. The determination part 35 determines that the document positioned onto the document board 11 has a regular size in accordance with that the information satisfies a regular size condition. In addition, the determination part 35 determines that the information indicates the existence of the document, and the area of the one part where the information is detected in accordance with the information does not satisfy the regular size condition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
