Abstract
Claims
1. A method for evaluating cheek sagging, comprising evaluating the degree of cheek sagging of a subject using at least one type of internal skin tissue information selected from the subject's masseter muscle extracellular fat volume, cheek pressure, ratio of cheek subcutaneous fat volume to masseter muscle volume, and ratio of cheek subcutaneous fat volume to zygomatic muscle volume as indicators.
2. A method for evaluating the effect of a test substance or test treatment on improving sagging cheeks, comprising the following steps (1), (2), and (3). (1) The process of applying the test substance or test treatment to the subject. (2) A step of obtaining at least one type of internal skin tissue information selected from the masseter muscle extracellular fat volume, cheek pressure, ratio of subcutaneous fat volume of the cheek to masseter muscle volume, and ratio of subcutaneous fat volume of the cheek to zygomatic muscle volume of the subject. (3) A step to evaluate the effect of the test substance or test treatment on improving cheek sagging based on the internal skin tissue information obtained in (2).
3. A method for evaluating or selecting an agent or treatment for improving sagging cheeks, comprising the following steps (1), (2), and (4). (4) A step of evaluating or selecting a test substance or test treatment as an agent or treatment to improve cheek sagging, based on the internal skin tissue information obtained in (2), which reduces the extracellular fat volume of the masseter muscle, increases cheek pressure, reduces the ratio of the subcutaneous fat cross-sectional area of the cheek to the maximum thickness of the masseter muscle, or reduces the ratio of the subcutaneous fat cross-sectional area of the cheek to the maximum thickness of the zygomaticus muscle.
4. The method according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the mass of the masseter muscle or the zygomatic muscle is the maximum thickness of the masseter muscle or the zygomatic muscle, and the amount of subcutaneous fat of the cheek is the cross-sectional area of the subcutaneous fat of the cheek.
5. The method according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the cheek pressure is the maximum cheek pressure measured using a tongue pressure measuring device.
6. The method according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the amount of extracellular fat in the masseter muscle, the masseter muscle, the zygomatic muscle, and the subcutaneous fat of the cheek are measured using a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device.
