[0003] [Patent Document 1] JP 2022-113485 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] FIG. 1A is a schematic diagram showing an embodiment in which the light-transmitting cover 30 is fixed on the substrate 210 on which the light source 220 is arranged in the irradiation device 10 described in Patent Document 1. As shown in FIG. 1A, in Patent Document 1, the light-transmitting cover 30 is fixed to the substrate 210 by covering the flange 31 of the light-transmitting cover 30 with a cured product 33 of an adhesive. This is because the member made of silicone resin has low adhesion to other resin materials, so that the light-transmitting cover 30 cannot be fixed to the substrate 210 by simply applying an adhesive between the substrate 210 and the light-transmitting cover 30. However, if the light-transmitting cover 30 is fixed on the substrate 210 by covering the flange 31 with an adhesive in this way, the amount of adhesive required will increase.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0009] [Light emitting device] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Light emitting devices according to embodiments of the present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the drawings. 1B shows a cross section of light emitting device 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1B, light emitting device 100 has substrate 210, light source 220 arranged on substrate 210, and light flux controlling member 300 arranged on substrate 210 so as to cover light source 220. As shown in FIG. 1B, light flux controlling member 300 has incident surface 310, exit surface 320, and flange 330, and controls light from a light source.
[0010] Flange 330 has adhesive receiving portion 340 penetrating flange 330. Adhesive is filled into adhesive receiving portion 340, which hardens to become hardened adhesive 350, and hardened adhesive 350 is bonded to substrate 210. Hardened adhesive 350 is filled into a plurality of through portions 341 extending in the thickness direction of flange 330, and into first connection recesses 342 extending on the upper surface of flange 330 so as to connect the plurality of through portions 341. Filling cured adhesive 350 in this manner allows light flux controlling member 300 to be fixed to substrate 210 with a small amount of adhesive, without covering flange 330 with cured adhesive 350 (compare FIG. 1B with FIG. 1A). Each component of the light emitting device 100 will now be described.
[0011] (substrate) Substrate 210 has light source 220 and light flux controlling member 300 arranged thereon and supports them. The type of substrate 210 is not particularly limited. From the viewpoint of supplying electricity to light source 220, it is preferable to use a circuit board as substrate 210. For example, substrate 210 is a glass composite substrate, a glass epoxy substrate, an Al substrate, or the like.
[0012] (light source) The light source 220 is a light source of the light emitting device 100, and is mounted on the substrate 210. The light source 220 is a light emitting element such as a light emitting diode (LED). The type of light emitting diode is not particularly limited, and a light emitting diode that emits light from the top surface is preferably used in the light emitting device 100 according to the present embodiment, but a light emitting element that emits light from the top surface and side surfaces (for example, a COB type light emitting diode) can also be used. The wavelength of the light emitted by the light source 220 is not particularly limited, but in the present invention, it is preferable that the light source 220 emits ultraviolet light. In the present embodiment, the light source 220 is a light emitting diode that emits ultraviolet light, and in particular, it is preferable that the light emitting diode emits UVC (ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 200 to 280 nm).
[0013] (Light flux control member) Light flux controlling member 300 is an optical member that controls the distribution of light emitted from light source 220, and is disposed on substrate 210 so as to cover light source 220. Light flux controlling member 300 is formed, for example, by injection molding. The material of light flux controlling member 300 is not particularly limited as long as it is a material that can transmit light of a desired wavelength. In the present embodiment, the light that light flux controlling member 300 transmits is ultraviolet light, particularly UVC. In order to transmit such light, the material of light flux controlling member 300 is preferably silicone. Light flux controlling member 300 is preferably disposed above light source 220 so that central axis CA of light flux controlling member 300 coincides with optical axis LA of light source 220. Here, "optical axis LA of light source 220" means a central light ray of a three-dimensional emitted light flux from light source 220.
[0014] 1B, light flux controlling member 300 has incident surface 310, exit surface 320, flange 330, and adhesive receptacle 340. Furthermore, light emitting device 100 has cured product 350 of the adhesive filled in adhesive receptacle 340 of light flux controlling member 300. Each of these will be described below.
[0015] <Incidence surface> Incident surface 310 is the inner surface of the recess, and allows light emitted from light source 220 to enter the inside of light flux controlling member 300. In the present embodiment, incident surface 310 intersects with central axis CA of light flux controlling member 300, and is rotationally symmetric (circularly symmetric) about central axis CA. The shape of incident surface 310 is not particularly limited, and it may be designed so as to cooperate with exit surface 320 to achieve a desired light distribution.
[0016] <Exit surface> Exit surface 320 outputs the light incident on entrance surface 310 to the outside of light flux controlling member 300 while controlling the traveling direction of the light. Exit surface 320 is arranged on the front side of light flux controlling member 300 so as to intersect with central axis CA of light flux controlling member 300. In the present embodiment, exit surface 320 is rotationally symmetric (circularly symmetric) with respect to central axis CA. The shape of exit surface 320 is not particularly limited, and it may be designed so as to cooperate with entrance surface 310 to achieve a desired light distribution.
[0017] <Flange, adhesive receptacle, hardened adhesive> Light flux controlling member 300 has flange 330 protruding in a direction away from central axis CA at its outer periphery. Flange 330 has adhesive receptacle 340 penetrating flange 330. Adhesive receptacle 340 is formed as a through hole penetrating flange 330 by communicating a plurality of openings on the substrate 210 side of flange 330 with an opening on the upper surface side of flange 330. More specifically, as described above, adhesive receptacle 340 has a plurality of through portions 341 extending in the thickness direction of flange 330 in a cross section in the thickness direction of flange 330, and first connection recess 342 extending to connect the plurality of through portions 341 on the upper surface of flange 330. The configuration of adhesive receptacle 340 is not particularly limited as long as it has a plurality of through portions 341 and first connection recess 342. For example, the plurality of through portions 341 in the cross section may be a plurality of parts separated from each other in one through hole, or may be a plurality of through holes separated from each other.
[0018] Of cured product 350 of adhesive filled in adhesive receptacle 340, cured product 350 of adhesive filled in multiple through-holes 341 is adhered to the substrate and fixed thereto. Furthermore, cured product 350 of adhesive filled in first connection recess 342 connects cured product 350 of adhesive filled in multiple through-holes 341. In this way, when light flux controlling member 300 receives a force that moves it away from substrate 210, cured product 350 of adhesive can apply a force that pushes light flux controlling member 300 back toward substrate 210. In this way, cured product 350 of adhesive contributes to keeping light flux controlling member 300 fixed on substrate 210. The shape of the opening of first connection recess 342 on the upper surface side of flange 330 of adhesive receptacle 340 is not particularly limited, but is preferably, for example, substantially rectangular, substantially circular, substantially elliptical, or substantially trapezoidal. The type of adhesive is not particularly limited and can be appropriately selected depending on the material constituting substrate 210 and the material constituting light flux controlling member 300. For example, the adhesive is a non-silicone adhesive such as a urethane adhesive.
[0019] [Embodiment of Light Flux Controlling Member] As specific examples of light flux controlling member 300 having the above configuration, light flux controlling members according to embodiments 1 to 11 will be described below.
[0020] (Embodiment 1) FIG. 2A is a perspective view of light flux controlling member 400 in accordance with embodiment 1, and FIGS. 2B and 2C show cured product 450 of the adhesive filled in adhesive receptacle 440 of light flux controlling member 400. As shown in FIG.
[0021] 2A, light flux controlling member 400 is circular in plan view, and emission surface 420 is also circular. Flange 430 is ring-shaped surrounding emission surface 420 when light flux controlling member 400 is viewed in plan. A plurality of adhesive receptacles 440 are arranged on flange 430, and in this embodiment, the number of adhesive receptacles 440 is four. In this embodiment, the four adhesive receptacles 440 are arranged at equal intervals on flange 430, which is ring-shaped.
[0022] Adhesive receptacle 440 includes a plurality of through holes 441 extending in the thickness direction of flange 430, and first connection recess 442 extending on the upper surface of flange 430 so as to connect the plurality of through holes 441. In the present embodiment, the number of through holes 441 in one adhesive receptacle 440 is two, and one first connection recess 442 connects two through holes 441. Specifically, two through holes 441 are opened in first connection recess 442. As shown in FIG. 1B described above, such adhesive receptacle 440 includes, in a cross section in the thickness direction of the flange, a plurality of through portions (two through holes 441) extending in the thickness direction of the flange, and a first connection recess (first connection recess 442) extending on the upper surface of the flange so as to connect the plurality of through portions. This allows light flux controlling member 400 to be fixed to a substrate with a small amount of adhesive.
[0023] In this embodiment, the two through holes 441 are aligned radially of the ring-shaped flange 430, as shown in the left diagram of FIG. 2A, and the two aligned through holes 441 are connected by a single first connection recess 442 extending radially.
[0024] The direction in which the multiple through holes 441 are arranged does not have to be the radial direction, and the arrangement is not particularly limited. For example, as shown in the right diagram of Fig. 2A, the multiple through holes 441 may be arranged in the circumferential direction of the ring-shaped flange 430, and the multiple through holes 441 thus arranged may be connected by a first connection recess 442 extending in the circumferential direction.
[0025] In the present embodiment, through hole 441 has a rectangular parallelepiped shape, and first connection recess 442 also has a rectangular parallelepiped shape. Therefore, when light flux controlling member 400 is viewed in a plan view, through hole 441 has a rectangular shape, and first connection recess 442 also has a rectangular shape. When light flux controlling member 400 is viewed in a plan view, the long side direction of first connection recess 442 may be arranged along the radial direction of the ring-shaped flange, or may be arranged along the radial direction, but it is preferable that the long side direction of first connection recess 442 is along the circumferential direction (see the right diagram in FIG. 2A). By having the long side direction of first connection recess 442 be along the circumferential direction, the width of flange 430 can be reduced.
[0026] 2B and 2C show cured adhesive 450 filled in adhesive receiving portion 440 as described above. Fig. 2B is a perspective view of cured adhesive 450 as viewed from the front side of light flux controlling member 400, and Fig. 2C is a perspective view of cured adhesive 450 as viewed from the back side.
[0027] Cured adhesive 450 has a shape complementary to adhesive receiving portion 440. Therefore, cured adhesive 450 has two through-holes 451 corresponding to two through-holes 441, and first connection cured portion 452 corresponding to first connection recess 442 connecting them. In the present embodiment, through-hole cured portion 451 has a rectangular parallelepiped shape, and the connection cured product also has a rectangular parallelepiped shape. The bottom surface of through-hole cured portion 451 is bonded to substrate 210 and fixed to substrate 210. As shown in FIG. 2D, when the length h1 of flange 430 of first connection cured portion 452 in the thickness direction is 1, the length h2 of flange 430 of through-hole cured portion 451 in the thickness direction may be, for example, 0.5 to 3. From the viewpoint of firmly fixing the light flux controlling member to the substrate, it is preferable that h2 is equal to or greater than h1, and for example, when h1 is 1, h2 is preferably 1 to 3. 2D, in this embodiment, the portion where the inner wall surfaces of adhesive receiving portion 440 intersect (the portion where the inner wall surface of through hole 441 intersects with the inner wall surface of first connection recess 442) is shown as an edge, but stress tends to concentrate at such corner portions, making them prone to breakage when force is applied. It is preferable to add an R shape to this portion to increase the breaking strength.
[0028] (effect) Light flux controlling member 400 according to the first embodiment has adhesive receiving portion 440 as described above, and thus includes, in a cross section in the thickness direction of flange 430, a plurality of through-holes (a plurality of through-holes 441) extending in the thickness direction of flange 430, and a first connection recess (a first connection recess 442) extending so as to connect the plurality of through-holes on the upper surface of flange 430 (see FIG. 1B). This makes it possible to fix light flux controlling member 400 to substrate 210 while suppressing the amount of adhesive used. Furthermore, according to the light emitting device of the present embodiment, by covering flange 430 with a cured product of the adhesive, the light flux controlling member is not fixed to the substrate, and therefore the fixing force does not change depending on the size of flange 430. Furthermore, since it is not necessary to cover flange 430 with a cured product of the adhesive, a part of the emission surface is not covered with the cured product of the adhesive, and thus emission of light is not hindered. Furthermore, according to the light emitting device of the present embodiment, it is possible to dispense with an outer frame required for filling the flange 430 with adhesive and covering the flange with the cured product of the adhesive. Furthermore, according to the light emitting device of the present embodiment, a small amount of adhesive is sufficient, so the time required for hardening can be shortened.
[0029] (Embodiment 2) Fig. 3A is a perspective view of light flux controlling member 500 according to embodiment 2, and Figs. 3B and 3C show cured product 550 of adhesive filled in adhesive receiving portion 540 of light flux controlling member 500. Hereinafter, in embodiment 2, differences from embodiment 1 will be mainly described, and similar configurations and the like will be denoted by similar reference numerals, and description thereof will be omitted.
[0030] Adhesive receiver 540 of light flux controlling member 500 according to embodiment 2 has two through holes 541, the two through holes opening in first connection recess 542, and first connection recess 542 connecting two through holes 541. Through hole 541 is substantially semicylindrical in shape, and first connection recess 542 is disk-shaped. Two through holes 541 may be arranged in the radial direction or the circumferential direction as in embodiment 1. In the present embodiment, two through holes 541 are arranged in the circumferential direction.
[0031] 3B and 3C show cured product 550 of the adhesive filled in adhesive receiving portion 540 as described above. Fig. 3B is a perspective view of cured product 550 of the adhesive as viewed from the front side of light flux controlling member 500, and Fig. 3C is a perspective view of cured product 550 of the adhesive as viewed from the back side.
[0032] Cured adhesive 550 has a shape complementary to adhesive receptacle 540. Therefore, cured adhesive 550 has two through-cured portions 551 having a substantially semi-cylindrical shape and disk-shaped first connection cured portion 552 connecting them on the upper surface of flange 530. Although disk-shaped first connection recess 542 is shown in the present embodiment, the present invention is not limited thereto. A flange having a rectangular shape in plan view may be provided by connecting to the outer periphery of circular emission surface 420, or a rectangular first connection recess may be formed following the outer shape of the flange. In addition, a plurality of adhesive receptacles may be arranged in a circular or rectangular shape. The arrangement of the adhesive receptacles is not limited as long as the light flux control member is fixed to the substrate by the adhesive cured material filled in the adhesive receptacle.
[0033] (effect) Light flux controlling member 500 according to the second embodiment has the same effects as light flux controlling member 400 according to the first embodiment.
[0034] (Embodiment 3) Fig. 4A is a perspective view of light flux controlling member 600 according to embodiment 3, and Figs. 4B and 4C show cured product 650 of adhesive filled in adhesive receiving portion 640 of light flux controlling member 600. Hereinafter, in embodiment 3, differences from the other embodiments will be mainly described, and similar configurations and the like will be denoted by similar reference numerals, and description thereof will be omitted.
[0035] Adhesive receptacle 640 of light flux controlling member 600 according to embodiment 3 has two through holes 641a, 641b, and first connection recess 642 connects through holes 641a, 641b. Specifically, through holes 641a, 641b each open in first connection recess 642.
[0036] Through holes 641a and 641b are shaped as a substantially rectangular parallelepiped (a columnar body with a part of a ring as a bottom surface) curved along the circumferential direction of ring-shaped flange 630. Through holes 641a and 641b are arranged side by side in the radial direction of the flange. Through hole 641a is arranged further outward in the radial direction, and through hole 641b is arranged further inward. Since through hole 641a is arranged further outward, it is longer in the circumferential direction than through hole 641b. That is, through holes 641a and 641b are arranged within the same angle range centered on the central axis of light flux controlling member 600. First connection recess 642 connecting through holes 641a and 641b also has a substantially rectangular parallelepiped (a columnar body with a part of a ring as a bottom surface) shape curved along the circumferential direction of ring-shaped flange 630.
[0037] The adhesive cured product 650 has a shape complementary to the adhesive receiving portion 640. Therefore, the adhesive cured product 650 has through-hole hardened portions 651a and 651b, which are substantially rectangular parallelepiped shaped and curved along the circumferential direction of the flange 630. The through-hole hardened portion 651a is disposed radially outward, and the through-hole hardened portion 651b is disposed radially inward. The through-hole hardened portion 651a is disposed radially outward, and therefore is longer in the circumferential direction than the through-hole hardened portion 651b. The connecting hardened portion 652 connecting the through-hole hardened portions 651a and 651b has a substantially rectangular parallelepiped (a columnar body with a part of a ring as a bottom surface) shape that is curved along the circumferential direction of the ring-shaped flange 630.
[0038] (effect) Light flux controlling member 600 according to the third embodiment has the same effects as light flux controlling member 400 according to the first embodiment.
[0039] (Embodiment 4) Fig. 5A is a perspective view of light flux controlling member 700 according to embodiment 4, and Figs. 5B and 5C show cured product 750 of adhesive filled in adhesive receiving portion 740 of light flux controlling member 700. Hereinafter, in embodiment 4, differences from the other embodiments will be mainly described, and similar configurations and the like will be denoted by similar reference numerals, and description thereof will be omitted.
[0040] Adhesive receptacle 740 of light flux controlling member 700 according to embodiment 4 has two through holes 741 and first connection recess 742, and two through holes 741 are connected by first connection recess 742. Specifically, two through holes 741 open in first connection recess 742.
[0041] The through hole 741 has a generally rectangular parallelepiped (cylinder with a part of a ring as a bottom surface) shape that is curved so as to follow the circumferential direction of the ring-shaped flange 730. Such two through holes 741 are arranged side by side in the circumferential direction of the flange 730. The first connection recess 742 that connects the two through holes 741 has a generally rectangular parallelepiped (cylinder with a part of a ring as a bottom surface) shape that is curved so as to follow the circumferential direction of the flange 730.
[0042] The adhesive cured product 750 has a shape complementary to the adhesive receiving portion 740. Therefore, the adhesive cured product 750 has two through-hole hardened portions 751 that are substantially rectangular parallelepiped (cylinder with a part of a ring as a bottom surface) shaped and curved to follow the circumferential direction of the flange 730. In addition, the first connecting hardened portion 752 connecting the two through-hole hardened portions 751 has a substantially rectangular parallelepiped (cylinder with a part of a ring as a bottom surface) shaped and curved to follow the circumferential direction of the ring-shaped flange 730.
[0043] (effect) Light flux controlling member 700 according to the fourth embodiment has the same effects as light flux controlling member 400 according to the first embodiment.
[0044] (Embodiment 5) Fig. 6A is a perspective view of light flux controlling member 800 according to embodiment 5, and Figs. 6B and 6C show cured product 850 of the adhesive filled in adhesive receptacle 840 of light flux controlling member 800. Hereinafter, in embodiment 5, differences from the other embodiments will be mainly described, and similar configurations and the like will be denoted by similar reference numerals, and description thereof will be omitted.
[0045] Adhesive receptacle 840 of light flux controlling member 800 according to embodiment 5 has two through holes 841 and first connection recess 842, and two through holes 841 are connected by one first connection recess 842. Specifically, two through holes 841 open in first connection recess 842.
[0046] Two through holes 841 are inclined so as to move away from each other as they go from the front side to the back side of light flux controlling member 800. Thus, through hole 841 has inclined surface 841a inclined with respect to the thickness direction of flange 830. In the present embodiment, two through holes 841 are lined up without a gap on the front side of light flux controlling member 800. It is considered that inclined surface 841a is useful for firmly fixing light flux controlling member 800 to the substrate. The direction in which two through holes 841 are lined up may be the circumferential direction or the radial direction of flange 830 which is ring-shaped. In the present embodiment, two through holes 841 are lined up in the circumferential direction.
[0047] Cured adhesive material 850 has a shape complementary to adhesive receiving portion 840. Therefore, cured adhesive material 850 has two through-hole cured portions 851 that incline so as to move away from each other from the front side to the back side of light flux controlling member 800, and first connecting cured portion 852 that connects two through-hole cured portions 851. Through-hole cured portion 851 has inclined surface 851a.
[0048] (effect) Light flux controlling member 800 according to embodiment 5 has the same effects as embodiment 1. Furthermore, since adhesive receptacle 840 and hardened adhesive 850 have inclined surfaces 841a and 851a, respectively, it is believed that light flux controlling member 800 is more firmly fixed to the substrate.
[0049] (Embodiment 6) Fig. 7A is a perspective view of light flux controlling member 900 according to embodiment 6, and Figs. 7B and 7C show cured adhesive 950 filled in adhesive receiving portion 940 of light flux controlling member 900. Since embodiment 6 is a modification of embodiment 5, the following description will focus on the differences between embodiment 6 and embodiment 5.
[0050] Adhesive receiver 940 of light flux controlling member 900 according to embodiment 6 has two through holes 941 and first connecting recess 942, and one first connecting recess 942 connects the two through holes 941. The two through holes 941 are inclined like through hole 841 described above, but differ from light flux controlling member 800 in that the two through holes 941 are arranged side by side with a space between them on the front side of light flux controlling member 900. First connecting recess 942 connects the two through holes 941 arranged side by side with a space between them in this manner. Through hole 941 has inclined surface 941a.
[0051] Cured adhesive material 950 has a shape complementary to adhesive receiving portion 940. Therefore, cured adhesive material 950 is inclined so as to move away from each other from the front side to the back side of light flux controlling member 900, and has two through-hole cured portions 951 spaced apart on the front side, and one connecting cured portion 952 connecting two through-hole cured portions 951. Through-hole cured portion 951 has inclined surface 951a.
[0052] (effect) Light flux controlling member 900 according to the sixth embodiment has the same effects as light flux controlling member 800 according to the fifth embodiment.
[0053] (Embodiment 7) Fig. 8A is a perspective view of light flux controlling member 1000 according to embodiment 7, and Fig. 8B shows cured product 1050 of the adhesive filled in adhesive receptacle 1040 of light flux controlling member 1000. Hereinafter, in embodiment 7, differences from the other embodiments will be mainly described, and similar configurations and the like will be denoted by similar reference numerals, and description thereof will be omitted.
[0054] Adhesive receiver 1040 of light flux controlling member 1000 according to embodiment 7 has a plurality of through holes 1041 lined up in the circumferential direction of flange 1030 and one first connection recess 1042 extending in the circumferential direction, and the plurality of through holes 1041 are connected to one first connection recess 1042 on the upper surface of the flange. Specifically, all of through holes 1041 open into one first connection recess 1042. First connection recess 1042 is arranged on the upper surface of flange 1030 so as to surround emission surface 420 when light flux controlling member 1000 is viewed in plan. In the present embodiment, first connection recess 1042 is arranged in a ring shape.
[0055] Cured adhesive material 1050 has a shape complementary to adhesive receiving portion 1040. Therefore, cured adhesive material 1050 has a plurality of through cured portions 1051 aligned in the circumferential direction of flange 1030, and one first connection cured portion 1052 connecting the plurality of through cured portions 1051. First connection cured portion 1052 is ring-shaped when light flux controlling member 1000 is viewed in a plan view. In addition, first connection cured portion 1052 is disposed on the upper surface of flange 1030.
[0056] (effect) Light flux controlling member 1000 according to the seventh embodiment has the same effects as light flux controlling member 400 according to the first embodiment.
[0057] (Embodiment 8) The left diagram in Fig. 9A is a perspective view of light flux controlling member 1100 according to embodiment 8 as seen from the front side, and the right diagram in Fig. 9A is a perspective view as seen from the back side. Fig. 9B shows hardened product 1150 of the adhesive filled in adhesive receiving portion 1140 of light flux controlling member 1100. Since embodiment 8 is a modification of embodiment 7, the following description will focus on the differences between embodiment 8 and embodiment 7.
[0058] Adhesive receiver 1140 of light flux controlling member 1100 according to embodiment 8 has a plurality of through holes 1141 arranged in the circumferential direction of flange 1130, one first connection recess 1142 extending in the circumferential direction of flange 1130 and arranged on the upper surface of flange 1130, and one second connection recess 1143 extending in the circumferential direction of flange 1130 and arranged on the lower surface of flange 1130. First connection recess 1142 and second connection recess 1143 connect the plurality of through holes 1141 on the upper surface and the lower surface of flange 1130, respectively. First connection recess 1142 is ring-shaped so as to surround emission surface 420 when light flux controlling member 1100 is viewed in plan. Similarly, second connection recess 1143 is ring-shaped so as to surround incidence surface 410 when light flux controlling member 1100 is viewed from the bottom.
[0059] The adhesive cured product 1150 has a shape complementary to the adhesive receiving portion 1140. Therefore, the adhesive cured product 1150 has a plurality of through-hole hardened portions 1151 arranged in the circumferential direction of the flange 1130, and a first connection hardened portion 1152 and a second connection hardened portion 1153 that connect the plurality of through-hole hardened portions 1151. The first connection hardened portion 1152 is disposed on the upper surface of the flange 1130, and the second connection hardened portion 1153 is disposed on the lower surface of the flange 1130. The first connection hardened portion 1152 and the second connection hardened portion 1153 are ring-shaped.
[0060] (effect) Light flux controlling member 1100 according to embodiment 8 has the same effects as embodiment 7. Furthermore, by having second connection hardening portion 1153, light flux controlling member 1100 can be fixed more firmly to the substrate.
[0061] (Embodiment 9) Fig. 10A is a perspective view of light flux controlling member 1200 according to embodiment 9, and Figs. 10B and 10C show cured product 1250 of the adhesive filled in adhesive receptacle 1240 of light flux controlling member 1200. Light flux controlling member 1200 according to embodiment 9 will be described below, focusing on the differences from the other embodiments.
[0062] Light flux controlling member 1200 according to embodiment 9 has flange 1230 and adhesive receptacle 1240. Adhesive receptacle 1240 has one through hole including two through parts 1241a and one connecting through part 1241b, and first connecting recess 1242 connecting two through parts 1241a and one connecting through part 1241b on the front side of the flange. In the one through hole, two approximately rectangular parallelepiped through parts 1241a are connected to both ends of one approximately semicylindrical connecting through part 1241b. First connecting recess 1242 is semicircular in plan view.
[0063] Cured adhesive 1250 has a shape complementary to adhesive receiving portion 1240. Therefore, cured adhesive 1250 has two substantially rectangular parallelepiped through cured portions 1251a, one substantially semicylindrical connecting through cured portion 1251b connecting two through cured portions 1251a, and first connecting through cured portion 1252 connecting two through cured portions 1251a and one connecting through cured portion 1251b on the front side of flange 1230. First connecting cured portion 1252 has a semicircular shape when light flux controlling member 1200 is viewed in plan.
[0064] (effect) Like light flux controlling member 400 of embodiment 1, light flux controlling member 1200 of embodiment 9 has two through-holes 1241a (two through-holes 341 in FIG. 1B) and first connecting recess 1242 (first connecting recess 342 in FIG. 1B) connecting the two through-holes 1241a in a cross section in the thickness direction of flange 1230. Therefore, light flux controlling member 1200 of embodiment 9 has the same effect as light flux controlling member 400 of embodiment 1.
[0065] (Embodiment 10) Fig. 11A is a perspective view of light flux controlling member 1300 according to embodiment 10, and Figs. 11B and 11C show cured product 1350 of the adhesive filled in adhesive receptacle 1340 of light flux controlling member 1300. Hereinafter, light flux controlling member 1300 according to embodiment 10 is a modified example of light flux controlling member 1200 according to embodiment 9. Therefore, light flux controlling member 1300 will be described, focusing on the points that differ from light flux controlling member 1200.
[0066] Light flux controlling member 1300 according to embodiment 10 has flange 1330 and adhesive receptacle 1340. Adhesive receptacle 1340 has one through hole including two through holes 1341a and one connection through portion 1341b, and first connection recess 1342 connecting two through portions 1341a and one connection through portion 1341b on the front side of the flange. In the one through hole, two through portions 1341a having a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape are connected to both ends of connection through portion 1341b having a substantially U-shape in plan view. Connection through portion 1341b has a shape in which two rectangular parallelepipeds are connected at an angle of 90° to both ends of a single rectangular parallelepiped. First connection recess 1342 has a substantially rectangular shape in plan view.
[0067] Cured adhesive 1350 has a shape complementary to adhesive receiving portion 1340. Therefore, cured adhesive 1350 has two substantially rectangular parallelepiped through cured portions 1351a, one substantially semi-cylindrical through connection cured portion 1351b connecting two through cured portions 1351a, and a first connection cured portion 1352 connecting two through cured portions 1351a and one through connection cured portion 1351b on the front side of flange 1330. The shape of first connection cured portion 1352 is rectangular when light flux controlling member 1200 is viewed in plan.
[0068] (effect) Like light flux controlling member 400 of embodiment 1, light flux controlling member 1300 of embodiment 10 has two through-holes 1341a (two through-holes 341 in FIG. 1B) and first connecting recess 1342 (first connecting recess 342 in FIG. 1B) connecting the two through-holes 1341a in a cross section in the thickness direction of flange 1330. Therefore, light flux controlling member 1300 of embodiment 10 has the same effect as light flux controlling member 400 of embodiment 1.
[0069] (Embodiment 11) Fig. 12A is a perspective view of light flux controlling member 1400 according to embodiment 11, and Figs. 12B and 12C show cured product 1450 of the adhesive filled in adhesive receptacle 1440 of light flux controlling member 1400. Light flux controlling member 1400 according to embodiment 11 is a modified example of light flux controlling member 1200 according to embodiment 9. Therefore, light flux controlling member 1400 will be described, focusing on the points that differ from light flux controlling member 1200.
[0070] Light flux controlling member 1400 according to embodiment 11 has flange 1430 and adhesive receptacle 1440. Adhesive receptacle 1440 has one through hole including through portion 1441a that is substantially C-shaped in plan view, and first connection recess 1442 that connects through portion 1441a to the front side of flange 1430. First connection recess 1442 is circular in plan view.
[0071] The adhesive cured product 1450 has a shape complementary to the adhesive receiving part 1440. Therefore, the adhesive cured product 1450 has a through-hole cured part 1451a that is substantially C-shaped when viewed in a plane, and a first connecting cured part 1452 that connects the through-hole cured part 1451a to the front side of the flange 1430. The shape of the first connecting cured part 1452 is circular when viewed in a plane.
[0072] (effect) Like light flux controlling member 400 of embodiment 1, light flux controlling member 1400 of embodiment 1 has two through-holes 1441a (which appear separate in the cross section like two through-holes 341 in FIG. 1B) and first connecting recess 1442 (first connecting recess 342 in FIG. 1B) connecting the two through-holes 1441a in a cross section in the thickness direction of flange 1430. Therefore, light flux controlling member 1400 of embodiment 11 has the same effect as embodiment 1.
[0073] [Reference example] (Reference example 1) FIG. 13A is a perspective view of light flux controlling member 1500 in accordance with Reference Example 1, and FIG. 13B shows hardened product 1550 of the adhesive filled in adhesive receptacle 1540 of light flux controlling member 1500.
[0074] Light flux controlling member 1500 according to reference example 1 has flange 1530 and adhesive receptacle 1540. Adhesive receptacle 1540 has through hole 1541 and protruding recess 1542 which has a larger diameter than through hole 1541, protrudes from through hole 1541, and is disposed on the front side of flange 1530. Through hole 1541 opens into protruding recess 1542.
[0075] Cured adhesive product 1550 has a shape complementary to adhesive receiving portion 1540. Therefore, cured adhesive product 1550 has penetrating cured portion 1551 and protruding cured portion 1552 arranged on the upper surface of penetrating cured portion 1551. Protruding cured portion 1552 applies a force that pushes light flux controlling member 1500 back toward the substrate when light flux controlling member 1500 receives a force in a direction away from the substrate.
[0076] (Reference example 2) FIG. 14A is a perspective view of light flux controlling member 1600 according to reference example 2, FIG. 14B is a cross-sectional view along line BB in FIG. 14A, and FIG. 14C shows hardened adhesive 1650 filled in adhesive receiving portion 1640 of light flux controlling member 1600.
[0077] Light flux controlling member 1600 has flange 1630 and adhesive receptacle 1640 arranged on flange 1630. Adhesive receptacle 1640 has a shape in which two approximately rectangular parallelepipeds are arranged in a stepped shape. That is, as shown in FIG. 14B , adhesive receptacle 1640 is arranged on the back side of flange 1630 and has first protruding recess 1641 corresponding to the first step, and second protruding recess 1642 arranged on the front side of flange 1630 and corresponding to the second step. The protruding direction of first protruding recess 1641 is opposite to the protruding direction of second protruding recess 1642.
[0078] Cured adhesive 1650 shown in FIG. 14B has a shape complementary to adhesive receiving portion 1640. Therefore, cured adhesive 1650 has a shape in which two rectangular parallelepipeds are arranged in a stepped shape. That is, as shown in FIG. 14C, cured adhesive 1650 has first overhanging hardened portion 1651 corresponding to the first step and arranged on the back side of flange 1630, and second overhanging hardened portion 1652 corresponding to the second step and arranged on the front side of the flange. The overhanging direction of first overhanging hardened portion 1651 is the opposite direction to the overhanging direction of second overhanging hardened portion 1652. Second overhanging hardened portion 1652 applies a force to push light flux controlling member 1600 back toward the substrate when light flux controlling member 1600 receives a force in a direction away from the substrate.
[0079] (Embodiment 12) Fig. 15A is a plan view of a light emitting device having light flux controlling member 1700 according to embodiment 12. Fig. 15B is a cross-sectional view taken along line BB in Fig. 15A, and Fig. 15C is a cross-sectional view taken along line CC in Fig. 15A.
[0080] In the above-described embodiment and reference examples, the flange has a ring shape when the light flux controlling member is viewed in a plan view, but the shape of the flange is not limited to this. As shown in FIG. 15A, flange 1730 may have a shape of a part excluding emission surface 420, which is placed in the center and has various shapes according to the desired light distribution, such as a circular shape, from a square shape when viewed in a plan view. More specifically, in the present embodiment, flange 1730 has a shape having multiple (four) corners. Also, in the present embodiment, adhesive receptacles 1740 are arranged at positions corresponding to the multiple (four) corners, and there are four of them.
[0081] The adhesive receiving portion 1740 has a plurality of through holes 1741 and a first connection recess 1742, similar to the above-described embodiment.
[0082] 15A, wire 211 may be disposed on substrate 210. Wire 211 is, for example, an insulated wire, and the insulating coating at the tip of wire 211 is removed, and the conductor in the wire is electrically connected to a circuit formed on substrate 210 by solder or the like. Here, the connection between wire 211 and the circuit of substrate 210 is exposed, and there is a possibility that condensation or the like may adversely affect the electrical connection. Therefore, it is preferable to seal electrical joints including end 211a (connection) of wire and solder. In embodiments 13 to 16 described later, a configuration for sealing end 211a of wire will be described. Furthermore, in the present embodiment, a form has been shown in which a protrusion formed on the rear surface of light flux controlling member 1700 is fitted into a recess formed in substrate 210 to achieve positioning, but the present invention is not limited to this, and substrate 210 and light flux controlling member 1700 may simply be fixed together with the hardened adhesive filled in the adhesive receiving portion described above. The same applies to embodiments 13 to 16 described below.
[0083] (effect) Light flux controlling member 1700 according to the twelfth embodiment has the same effects as the first embodiment.
[0084] (Embodiment 13) Fig. 16A is a plan view of a light emitting device having light flux controlling member 1800 according to embodiment 13. Fig. 16B is a cross-sectional view taken along line BB in Fig. 16A, and Fig. 16C is a cross-sectional view taken along line CC in Fig. 16A.
[0085] As shown in FIGS. 16A to 16C, flange 1830 of light flux controlling member 1800 has wire receiving portion 1850 for receiving end portion 211a of wire arranged on substrate 210.
[0086] The wire receiving portion 1850 has a wire passage 1850a for passing a linear wire therethrough, and a sealing through-hole 1851 which serves as a space for the presence of a hardened product of the sealing adhesive.
[0087] The wire passage 1850a may be configured so that a wire disposed on the substrate can pass through it. The wire passage 1850a may be a groove extending in the protruding direction of the flange 1830 (parallel to the surface of the substrate) or a through hole. The wire passage 1850a communicates with the sealing through hole 1851.
[0088] Sealing through-hole 1851 may be configured so as to form a space for sealing electrical joints including wire end 211a (connection portion) and solder when adhesive is injected and hardened. In this embodiment, sealing through-hole 1851 is disposed on substrate 210 to form a recess with the surface of substrate 210 as the bottom, and hardened adhesive 1860 for sealing is disposed in the recess.
[0089] In this embodiment, the sealing through hole 1851 is a through hole extending in the thickness direction of the flange 1830, and the length in the extending direction of the sealing through hole 1851 (hole depth) is longer than the outer diameter of the wire 211, and is formed so that an adhesive for reliably sealing the electrical connection point can be filled. Also, in this embodiment, the sealing through hole 1851 has an area capable of receiving the electrical connection point including the ends 211a of the two wires and the solder when viewed in a plan view. Also, in this embodiment, the sealing through hole 1851 is substantially rectangular when viewed in a plan view.
[0090] In the present embodiment, wire receiving portion 1850 is provided so as to protrude from one side of flange 1830, which has a substantially rectangular outer shape in plan view. In the present embodiment, wire receiving portion 1850 does not communicate with adhesive receiving portion 1740, but is independent of adhesive receiving portion 1740.
[0091] (effect) Light flux controlling member 1800 according to embodiment 13 has the same effects as embodiment 12. Furthermore, by having wire receiving portion 1850, end portion 211a of the wire and the electrical joint including the solder can be sealed with an adhesive.
[0092] (Embodiment 14) Fig. 17A is a plan view of a light emitting device having light flux controlling member 1900 according to embodiment 14. Fig. 17B is a cross-sectional view taken along line BB in Fig. 17A, and Fig. 17C is a cross-sectional view taken along line CC in Fig. 17A. Embodiment 14 will be described focusing on differences from embodiment 13.
[0093] Light flux controlling member 1900 according to embodiment 14 differs from light flux controlling member 1800 according to embodiment 13 above in that wire receiving portion 1950 communicates with one of the plurality of adhesive receptacles, adhesive receptacle 1940. Since wire receiving portion 1950 and adhesive receptacle 1940 communicate with each other, it is not necessary to introduce adhesive into each of them, improving efficiency. In other words, fixing of light flux controlling member 1900 to substrate 210 and sealing of wire end 211a and the electrical joint including the solder can be performed simultaneously.
[0094] In light flux controlling member 1900, adhesive receiving portion 1940 communicating with wire receiving portion 1950 has two through holes 1941 and one first connection recess 1942. In the present embodiment, sealing through hole 1951 directly communicates with first connection recess 1942.
[0095] The adhesive receiving portion 1940 extends over substantially the entire length of one side of the flange 1930, which has a substantially rectangular outer diameter, when viewed from above.
[0096] (effect) Light flux controlling member 1900 according to embodiment 14 has the same effects as embodiment 13. Furthermore, since wire receiving portion 1950 and adhesive receiving portion 1940 communicate with each other, it is possible to simultaneously fix light flux controlling member 1900 to substrate 210 and seal end 211a of the wire and the electrical joint including the solder.
[0097] (Embodiment 15) Fig. 18A is a plan view of a light emitting device having light flux controlling member 2000 according to embodiment 15. Fig. 18B is a cross-sectional view taken along line BB in Fig. 18A, and Fig. 18C is a cross-sectional view taken along line CC in Fig. 18A.
[0098] In light flux controlling member 2000 according to embodiment 15, wire receiving portion 2050 communicates with adhesive receiving portion 2040.
[0099] Adhesive receiving portion 2040 communicating with wire receiving portion 2050 of light flux controlling member 2000 has three through holes 2041 and one first connection recess 2042. In the present embodiment, sealing through hole 2051 communicates with through hole 2041.
[0100] More specifically, the three through holes 2041 are lined up along one side of the flange 2030, which has an approximately rectangular outline when viewed in a plane, and the sealing through hole 2051 is connected to the middle through hole 2041 of the three lined up through holes 2041.
[0101] (effect) Light flux controlling member 2000 according to the fifteenth embodiment has the same effects as those of the fourteenth embodiment.
[0102] (Embodiment 16) Fig. 19A is a plan view of a light emitting device having light flux controlling member 2100 according to embodiment 16. Fig. 19B is a cross-sectional view taken along line BB in Fig. 19A, and Fig. 19C is a cross-sectional view taken along line CC in Fig. 19A.
[0103] In light flux controlling member 2100 according to embodiment 16, wire receiving portion 2150 communicates with adhesive receiving portion 2140.
[0104] Adhesive receiving portion 2140 communicating with wire receiving portion 2150 of light flux controlling member 2100 has five through holes and one first connection recess 2142. The five through holes are aligned in a row along one side of the flange. In the present embodiment, sealing through hole 2151 directly communicates with the middle through hole 2141 of the five through holes 2141.
[0105] (effect) Light flux controlling member 2100 according to the sixteenth embodiment has the same effects as the fourteenth embodiment.
[0106] [others] When introducing an adhesive (e.g., a urethane-based adhesive), it is preferable to do the following. That is, if air remains between the substrate 210 and the urethane after the adhesive is introduced, the adhesion area decreases and the adhesion strength decreases. Therefore, in order to prevent air from remaining between the substrate 210 and the urethane, it is preferable that the outer diameter of the nozzle for introducing the adhesive is smaller than the short side of the through hole. This allows the nozzle to be brought close to the substrate 210 and the adhesive to be injected, thereby preventing air from remaining between the substrate 210 and the adhesive.
[0107] In addition, it is preferable that the adhesive (urethane adhesive) is injected into the through hole located at the center of the multiple through holes, so that the adhesive spreads from the center to the periphery, shortening the distance the adhesive travels and reducing the entrapment of air. By injecting the adhesive and then curing it, it is possible to fix the light flux controlling member to the substrate and seal the electrical joints with a small amount of adhesive. FIG. 20A shows light flux controlling member 1800 according to the thirteenth embodiment, in a state in which adhesive has been injected into wire receiving portion 1850 and the adhesive has become hardened adhesive 1860. FIG. 20B shows light flux controlling member 1900 according to the fourteenth embodiment in a state in which adhesive has been injected into wire receiving portion 1950 and adhesive receiving portion 1940 communicating therewith, resulting in hardened adhesive 1960.
[0108] [experiment] An experiment was carried out to examine the fixing strength of the light flux controlling member to the substrate. The light flux controlling members used were light flux controlling member 400 according to embodiment 1 (see FIG. 2A) and light flux controlling member 1100 according to embodiment 8 (see FIG. 9A). Two types of light flux controlling member 400 according to embodiment 1 were used. One had a thickness direction length h1 of flange 430 of first connection stiffened portion 452 of 0.5 mm, and a thickness direction length h2 of flange 430 of through stiffened portion 451 of 1 mm (hereinafter also referred to as long leg) (see FIG. 2D). The other had a thickness direction length h1 of flange 430 of first connection stiffened portion 452 of 1 mm, and a thickness direction length h2 of flange 430 of through stiffened portion 451 of 0.5 mm (hereinafter also referred to as short leg) (see FIG. 2D).
[0109] As the adhesive, a one-liquid type urethane adhesive (TAKIBOND #607, manufactured by TAKIRON C.I. Co., Ltd.) or a two-liquid type urethane adhesive (RUBILON KA-10+KB-35ME, manufactured by TOYO POLYMER Co., Ltd.) was used.
[0110] A light flux controlling member was placed on an experimental substrate, and adhesive was filled into the adhesive receiving portion of the light flux controlling member, which was then cured to fix the light flux controlling member to the substrate. The incident surface of the fixed light flux controlling member was pressed through a through hole provided in the substrate, and the peel strength was measured when the light flux controlling member was peeled off.
[0111] The experimental conditions and measurement results are shown in Table 1 below.
[0112] [Table 1]
[0113] In all of Experiments 1 to 6, a peel strength sufficient for practical use was obtained. Furthermore, as can be seen from Table 1, when the light flux controlling member of embodiment 1 was used, the longer the leg, the higher the peel strength. Furthermore, the light flux controlling member of embodiment 8 had a higher peel strength than the light flux controlling member of embodiment 1. Furthermore, the one-component type adhesive had a higher peel strength.
[0114] [Manufacturing method of light emitting device] A method for manufacturing a light emitting device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of preparing a light source disposed on a substrate, arranging a light flux controlling member on the substrate so as to cover the light source, and filling and curing an adhesive in an adhesive receiving portion of the light flux controlling member.
[0115] The step of preparing the light source disposed on the substrate may involve preparing a substrate on which the light source has been disposed in advance, or may involve disposing the light source on the substrate. The step of disposing the light flux controlling member on the substrate so as to cover the light source preferably involves disposing the light flux controlling member relative to the light source such that light from the light source is incident on the incident surface of the light flux controlling member. In addition, the light flux controlling member is preferably made of silicone.
[0116] The adhesive used in the step of filling and curing the adhesive in the adhesive receiving portion of the light flux controlling member is not particularly limited, and is, for example, a non-silicone adhesive. Specifically, examples of non-silicone adhesives include urethane adhesives. In this step, the adhesive is injected from the adhesive injection port of the adhesive receiving portion on the upper surface of the flange, and the adhesive is filled into the multiple through-holes so that the adhesive branches at the branching portion and reaches the opening on the substrate side, and the adhesive in the adhesive receiving portion is bonded to the substrate while curing, thereby fixing the lens to the substrate. In this embodiment, no adhesive is applied (substantially none) between the flange and the substrate, and the flange is not bonded to the substrate. In this embodiment, the flange (light flux controlling member) is indirectly fixed to the substrate via the cured product of the adhesive bonded to the substrate.
[0117] When the light flux controlling member has a wire receiving portion, the method includes a step of filling the wire receiving portion with adhesive and curing the adhesive. When the wire receiving portion and the adhesive receiving portion are in communication with each other, the adhesive receiving portion and the wire receiving portion can be filled with adhesive by filling the adhesive receiving portion or the wire receiving portion with adhesive. [Industrial Applicability]
[0118] INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY The light emitting device and light flux controlling member according to the present invention are useful, for example, in a sterilization device that irradiates ultraviolet light. [Explanation of symbols]
