Abstract

To provide a vibration suppression device capable of preventing a seal material from being damaged by preventing excessive pressure in a viscous body chamber and suppressing a decrease in shear resistance of a viscous body due to repeated shear deformation.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, a vibration suppression device converts relative displacement between first and second parts occurring due to vibrations of a vibration control object into relative rotation of an outer cylinder 3 and an inner cylinder 4 connected to a screw shaft 2a and a nut 2b of a ball screw 2, and demonstrates a vibration suppression effect due to shear resistance of a viscous body VB filled in a viscous body chamber 5 between both cylinders 3, 4. An accumulator 6 includes a pressure accumulation chamber 34 for accumulating a portion of pressure in the viscous body chamber 5, first and second communication passages 31, 32 communicating with the viscous body chamber 5 and the pressure accumulation chamber 34, a relief valve 37 provided in the first communication passage 31 to open when pressure in the viscous body chamber 5 reaches relief pressure Prf, and a check valve 38 provided in the second communication passage 32 to prevent flow of the viscous body VB from the viscous body chamber 5 toward the pressure accumulation chamber 34.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
