[0002] Some odors have unique, unpleasant odors. For example, acetic acid odor, ammonia odor, isovaleric acid odor, 2-nonenal odor, trimethylamine odor, methyl mercaptan odor, etc. Attempts are being made to reduce these odors by using fragrances, etc. However, even when a fragrance is used, the above-mentioned unique odors cannot be sufficiently suppressed, and there is a problem that the odors are mixed with the odor of the fragrance.

[0003] Patent Document 1 describes an aging odor suppressing composition that contains ethanolamine. However, ethanolamine is known to be toxic and to have a strong amine or ammonia odor.

[0004] Therefore, there is a strong demand for the rapid provision of new materials that can suppress undesirable odors. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0005] [Patent Document 1] JP 2001-97838 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0006] The present invention aims to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems and achieve the following objectives: That is, the present invention aims to provide a deodorizing composition (excluding odor improvers for food ingredients or food and drink) that can suppress undesirable odors, and a deodorizing method. [Means for solving the problem]

[0007] As a result of intensive research conducted by the present inventors in order to solve the above problems, it was found that the use of prenol and isoprenol makes it possible to suppress undesirable odors.

[0008] The present invention is based on the findings of the present inventors, and the means for solving the above problems are as follows. <1> The present invention relates to a deodorizing composition (excluding odor improving agents for food ingredients or foods and beverages) that contains at least one of prenol and isoprenol. <2> The above <1> This is a deodorizing method characterized by using the deodorizing composition (excluding odor improving agents for food ingredients or food and drink) described in the above. Effect of the Invention

[0009] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a deodorizing composition (excluding odor improvers for food ingredients or food and beverages) and a deodorizing method that can solve the above-mentioned problems in the conventional art, achieve the above-mentioned object, and suppress undesirable odors. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0010] (Deodorizing composition (excluding odor improving agents for food ingredients or food and drink)) The deodorizing composition of the present invention (excluding the odor improving agent for foodstuffs or foods and drinks) contains at least one of prenol and isoprenol, and may further contain other components.

[0011] The uses of the deodorizing composition are not particularly limited, except for use as an odor improving agent for food ingredients or food and beverages, and can be appropriately selected. Examples of the uses include use in the air, on the body, on clothing, on shoes, on bags, on furniture, and on home appliances. The above (excluding odor improving agents for food ingredients or food and beverages) means excluding the use for improving the odor of food ingredients or food and beverages. In other words, it means that the use of the deodorizing composition for improving the odor of food ingredients or food and beverages is excluded from the uses of the composition for deodorization.

[0012] In this specification, improving odor means that when a deodorizing composition (excluding odor improving agents for food ingredients or food and beverages) is used, an undesirable odor is suppressed (hereinafter sometimes referred to as "reduced") compared to when a deodorizing composition (excluding odor improving agents for food ingredients or food and beverages) is not used.

[0013] <Prenol, isoprenol> Prenol is a compound represented by the following structural formula. [ka]

[0014] Isoprenol is a compound represented by the following structural formula and is an isomer of prenol. [ka]

[0015] Both prenol and isoprenol are known compounds, and may be produced by known methods such as chemical synthesis or microbial production, or may be commercially available. Natural products such as citrus fruits and alcoholic beverages that contain at least one of prenol and isoprenol may also be used.

[0016] The deodorizing composition (excluding the odor improving agent for foodstuffs or foods and drinks) may contain either prenol or isoprenol, or may contain both.

[0017] The state of the deodorizing composition (excluding the odor improving agent for food ingredients or food and drink) is not particularly limited and can be appropriately selected, and examples thereof include liquid, gel, paste, solid, and the like. The solid is not particularly limited and can be appropriately selected. For example, the solid may be in the form of a powder or granules.

[0018] The odor of the deodorizing composition (excluding the odor improving agent for foodstuffs or foods and drinks) is not particularly limited and may be appropriately selected, but odorlessness is preferable.

[0019] The total content of at least any one of prenol and isoprenol in the deodorizing composition (excluding the odor improving agent for foodstuffs or foods and beverages) is not particularly limited and can be selected appropriately.

[0020] The lower limit of the total amount of at least any one of prenol and isoprenol in the deodorizing composition (excluding odor improvers for food ingredients or foods and beverages) is not particularly limited and may be selected as appropriate, but from the viewpoint of further suppressing undesirable odors, it is preferably 0.2 ppb (mass / volume) or more, more preferably 2 ppb (mass / volume) or more, even more preferably 20 ppb (mass / volume) or more, even more preferably 200 ppb (mass / volume) or more, particularly preferably 300 ppb (mass / volume) or more, and most preferably 500 ppb (mass / volume) or more. The upper limit of the total amount of at least any one of prenol and isoprenol in the deodorizing composition (excluding odor improvers for food ingredients or foods and beverages) is not particularly limited and may be selected as appropriate, but in terms of not imparting the odor of at least any one of prenol and isoprenol (not imparting an additional odor), it is preferably 100 ppm (mass / volume) or less, more preferably 50 ppm (mass / volume) or less, even more preferably 20 ppm (mass / volume) or less, even more preferably 10 ppm (mass / volume) or less, particularly preferably 5 ppm (mass / volume) or less, and most preferably 2 ppm (mass / volume) or less. In addition, a numerical range having a lower limit and an upper limit that are any of the numerical values shown as the lower limit and any of the numerical values shown as the upper limit, respectively, is preferable. Among these, from the viewpoint of further suppressing undesirable odors and not imparting the odor of at least one of prenol and isoprenol (not imparting an additional odor), 0.2 ppb (mass / volume) to 100 ppm (mass / volume) is preferred, 2 ppb (mass / volume) to 50 ppm (mass / volume) is more preferred, 20 ppb (mass / volume) to 20 ppm (mass / volume) is even more preferred, 200 ppb (mass / volume) to 10 ppm (mass / volume) is even more preferred, 500 ppb (mass / volume) to 5 ppm (mass / volume) is particularly preferred, and 500 ppb (mass / volume) to 2 ppm (mass / volume) is most preferred.

[0021] When the total amount of at least one of prenol and isoprenol in the deodorant composition is within the above-mentioned preferred range, it is advantageous in that undesirable odors can be further suppressed without imparting additional fragrance. That is, when the total amount of at least one of prenol and isoprenol in the deodorant composition is within the above-mentioned preferred range, the deodorant effect can be exerted at a concentration where the odor of prenol or isoprenol itself is not felt. When the total amount of at least one of prenol and isoprenol in the deodorant composition is within the above-mentioned preferred range, the deodorant composition can also be an odorless type deodorant composition. In addition, "the total amount of at least one of prenol and isoprenol" means the total amount of prenol and isoprenol when the deodorizing composition (excluding odor improving agents for food ingredients or food and beverages) contains prenol and isoprenol, and means the amount of at least one of prenol and isoprenol when the deodorizing composition (excluding odor improving agents for food ingredients or food and beverages) contains at least one of prenol and isoprenol.

[0022] When the prenol and the isoprenol are used in combination, the ratio of the amounts used (mass ratio) of the two is not particularly limited and can be appropriately selected depending on the purpose.

[0023] <Other ingredients> The other components in the deodorant composition (excluding the odor improver for foodstuffs or foods and beverages) are not particularly limited as long as they do not impair the effects of the present invention, and can be appropriately selected according to the purpose, and examples thereof include solvents (ethers, esters, glycols, oils and fats, hydrocarbons, ketones, fatty acids, alcohols (excluding prenol and isoprenol), water, etc.), surfactants, fragrances, colorants, gelling agents, repellent components, preservatives, insect repellent components, insecticides, antioxidants, light stabilizers, pH adjusters, ultraviolet absorbers, antibacterial agents, fungicides, deodorant components other than prenol and isoprenol, etc. These may be used alone or in combination of two or more.

[0024] The content of other components in the deodorizing composition (excluding the odor improving agent for foodstuffs or foods and beverages) is not particularly limited and can be appropriately selected depending on the purpose.

[0025] The form of the deodorizing composition (excluding the odor improving agent for food ingredients or food and drink) is not particularly limited and can be appropriately selected depending on the purpose, and for example, when the deodorizing composition (excluding the odor improving agent for food ingredients or food and drink) is liquid, it can be an aqueous solution, an aqueous alcohol solution, etc. Among these, the aqueous solution form is preferred in that it can further suppress undesirable odors and does not impart additional odors.

[0026] The deodorizing composition (excluding odor improving agents for food ingredients or foods and beverages) can also be used by impregnating it into inorganic powders such as silica, silica gel, and ceramics; sheet substrates such as paper, natural fibers or synthetic fibers, and nonwoven or woven fabrics made from blends of these; and organic powders such as polypropylene, polyethylene, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, activated carbon, and wood flour, or by molding it into a powder or granule form.

[0027] The water used in the aqueous solution or aqueous alcohol solution is not particularly limited and can be appropriately selected depending on the purpose.

[0028] The alcohol used in the aqueous alcohol solution is not particularly limited and can be appropriately selected depending on the purpose. For example, ethanol is included. The concentration of the alcohol in the aqueous alcohol solution is not particularly limited and can be appropriately selected depending on the purpose, and may be, for example, 1% by volume to 45% by volume.

[0029] The method for producing the deodorizing composition (excluding the odor improving agent for food ingredients or food and beverages) is not particularly limited and can be appropriately selected depending on the aspect. For example, it can be produced by adding and mixing at least one of prenol and isoprenol to water or an aqueous alcohol solution.
