Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to an oral composition having an excellent effect of removing stains, plaques, tobacco tar, etc. attached to the tooth surface.
Background Art
[0002] As a means for removing stains attached to the tooth surface, a method of brushing the tooth surface by holding an oral composition containing an abrasive in the mouth and performing brushing is common. Since this expects a physical removal effect by polishing, the effect can be enhanced by increasing the amount of the abrasive. However, depending on the type and blending amount of the abrasive, there is a risk of excessively wearing the tooth surface and damaging enamel and dentin.
[0003] On the other hand, it is widely known that by blending a condensed phosphate such as sodium polyphosphate, an effect of chemically removing stains attached to the tooth surface can be obtained. Since it does not wear the tooth surface compared to physical stain removal by an abrasive and can also act on stains attached to areas such as between teeth that are difficult to reach physically by brushing, it is currently blended in various oral compositions. However, depending on the composition, a stain removal effect may not be recognized unless a relatively large amount of condensed phosphate is blended, and the physical properties of the oral composition may change by blending a high amount of condensed phosphate. In addition, condensed phosphates may increase the irritation to the oral mucosa depending on the concentration.
[0004] In Patent Document 1 (International Publication No. 2016 / 194645), an oral composition containing a water-soluble condensed phosphate and a fatty acid and ester having a branched-chain structure has an improved stain removal effect, but there is still room for improvement.
[0005] Therefore, the development of a new technology that enhances various effects without degrading the usability while having a high stain removal effect by physical / chemical action is desired.

Summary of the Invention
Problems to be Solved by the Invention
[0007] An object of the present invention is to provide an oral composition having a good feeling of use and excellent stain removal effect on the tooth surface. Another object is to provide an oral composition having a high stain removal effect without a high content of condensed phosphate.
Means for Solving the Problems
[0008] As a result of intensive studies to achieve the above object, the inventors have found that by containing a monoterpene alcohol and a water-soluble condensed phosphate in a specific quantitative relationship, the monoterpene alcohol enhances the chemical removal effect of the water-soluble condensed phosphate, and as a result, an oral composition excellent in stain removal efficiency and maintaining a good feeling of use can be obtained, and thus the present invention has been completed.
[0009] That is, the present invention is an oral composition characterized by containing (A) a monoterpene alcohol as a chemical cleaning base and (B) 0.01 to 5 wt% of a condensed phosphate.
Effects of the Invention
[0010] According to the present invention, in an oral composition containing a condensed phosphate having an effect of chemically removing stains, by combining and blending a monoterpene alcohol as a chemical cleaning base, it is possible to enhance the stain removal efficiency while maintaining a good feeling of use by suppressing excessive wear on the tooth surface and irritation to the oral mucosa.
Modes for Carrying Out the Invention
[0011] The present invention will be described in detail below. The oral composition of the present invention is applied as a dentifrice such as a toothpaste, a polishing dentifrice, a powder dentifrice, a liquid dentifrice, a liquid toothpaste, an oral gel, a mouthwash, food, and the like. Among these, the oral composition of the present invention is preferably applied to a dentifrice, and particularly preferably a toothpaste.
[0012] The (A) chemical cleaning base in the present invention is a cleaning base having or enhancing the effect of chemically removing stains on the tooth surface.
[0013] The monoterpene alcohol of the component (A) contained in the oral composition of the present invention is a compound in which a hydroxyl group (—OH) is attached to monoterpene hydrocarbons in which two isoprenes (C5H8) are linked, and it can be used without problems in either a chain structure or a cyclic structure. Preferably, it is a monoterpene alcohol having a chain structure. Specific examples of this chain-structured monoterpene alcohol include geraniol, citronellol, linalool, nerol, lavandulol, etc., but are not limited thereto. Also, a plurality of types of monoterpene alcohols can be mixed and used. Among these monoterpene alcohols, it is most preferable to use geraniol.
[0014] The blending amount of the component (A) contained in the oral composition of the present invention is not particularly limited as long as a uniform oral composition property can be maintained, but 0.05 to 1 wt% of the whole composition is preferable. From the viewpoint of the unique fragrance of monoterpene alcohol, it is more preferably 0.1 to 0.5 wt%. If it is 0.05 wt% or less, the intended stain removal effect may not be obtained, and if it exceeds 1 wt%, discomfort may be caused during use in the oral cavity due to the unique fragrance.
[0015] Component (B) contained in the oral composition of the present invention is a water-soluble condensed phosphate, for example, phosphates such as sodium pyrophosphate, potassium pyrophosphate, sodium tripolyphosphate, potassium tripolyphosphate, sodium tetrapolyphosphate, and potassium tetrapolyphosphate. These can be used alone or in combination of two or more. Among these, polyphosphates having a polymerization degree of 2 to 4 are particularly preferred, and sodium tripolyphosphate is most preferably used.
[0016] The blending amount of component (B) contained in the oral composition of the present invention is 0.01 to 5.0 wt%. An increase in the blending amount of component (B) may induce irritation in the oral cavity or soften the physical properties of the composition. From the viewpoint of maintaining a uniform oral composition property and suppressing oral irritation, 0.01 to 3 wt% of the whole composition is preferred.
[0017] In the oral composition of the present invention, from the viewpoint of stain removal efficiency, the blending ratio of component (A) and component (B) is preferably 1:0.2 to 1:30, and particularly preferably 1:0.5 to 1:20.
[0018] In the present invention, the reason why the stain removal effect is enhanced by combining (A) a monoterpene alcohol which is a chemical cleaning base and (B) a condensed phosphate is presumed as follows. The adhesion of stains to the tooth surface is caused by the electrical connection between the positively charged enamel surface and the negatively charged stains. However, phosphate ions generated from the condensed phosphate in the solution preferentially bind to the enamel surface, making it possible to chemically remove the stains. On the other hand, the monoterpene alcohol in the present invention is considered to have an effect of weakening the electrical connection between the enamel surface and the stains, thereby enhancing the chemical stain removal effect by the condensed phosphate.
[0019] The (C) component contained in the oral composition of the present invention is not particularly limited as long as it exhibits a physical stain-removing effect in the oral composition of the present disclosure. Also, the production method is not particularly limited, and those produced by any production method can be used. Further, a plurality of abrasives can be used in combination. Examples include silica-based abrasives such as anhydrous silicic acid, crystalline silica, amorphous silica, silica gel, aluminosilicate, zeolite, calcium hydrogen phosphate anhydrate, calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, calcium pyrophosphate, calcium carbonate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, aluminum hydroxide, alumina, magnesium carbonate, magnesium orthophosphate, zirconium silicate, tricalcium phosphate, hydroxyapatite, tetracalcium phosphate, synthetic resin-based abrasives, and the like. These can be used alone or in combination of two or more. Among them, from the viewpoints of oral mucosa irritation and usability, inorganic abrasives such as silica-based abrasives such as anhydrous silicic acid and calcium phosphate-based abrasives such as calcium phosphate are preferable, and it is more preferable to use anhydrous silicic acid in particular.
[0020] The blending amount of the (C) component contained in the oral composition of the present invention is not particularly limited as long as a uniform oral composition property can be maintained. When the oral composition of the present invention is used as a toothpaste, the blending amount of the (C) component is particularly preferably 10 to 25 wt%. When the blending amount is less than 10 wt%, it may be difficult to obtain an effect as an abrasive silica. Further, when the blending amount exceeds 25 wt%, although it is also related to other components of the oral composition, it may cause damage to the tooth surface due to over-polishing, or the viscosity of the oral composition may decrease and the usability may be significantly deteriorated.
[0021] The average particle size of the (C) component is arbitrary, but when the oral composition of the present invention is used as a toothpaste, from the viewpoints of stain-removing power, physical properties of the composition, usability, etc., the temporary particle size (d50) is preferably 0.5 to 100 μm, more preferably 1 to 50 μm, and most preferably 10 to 25 μm. It is also possible to use a combination of a plurality of abrasives having different average particle sizes.
[0022] The dosage form of the oral composition of the present invention is not particularly limited. For example, it can be in any dosage form such as liquid, semi-solid (gel, paste, etc.), solid (tablet, capsule, gummy, film, etc.). The composition adjusted to any dosage form can be used as various products such as dentifrices (toothpaste, liquid dentifrice, powder dentifrice, etc.), mouthwashes, foods (gummies, candies, etc.). Among these, toothpaste is particularly preferred.
