Description

[Technical Field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a nut, a fishing rod reel seat including the nut, and a fishing rod including the fishing rod reel seat. [Background technology]

[0002] Various devices for securing a fishing reel's fishing rod mounting leg to a fishing rod have been known. These reel securing devices typically include a reel seat body with a mounting portion on which the fishing reel's fishing rod mounting leg is placed. One end of the reel seat body is provided with a fixed hood that secures one end of the fishing rod mounting leg. A movable hood is attached to the other end of the reel seat body, facing the fixed hood.

[0003] The movable hood typically includes an insertion section into which the other end of the fishing rod mounting leg is inserted and an operating knob rotatably attached to the insertion section. The operating knob includes a cylindrical base that screws into a threaded section formed on the other end of the reel seat body, and a decorative cover member attached to the outer periphery of the base. The cover member is typically fixed to the base using adhesive, which is applied to both the outer periphery of the base and the inner periphery of the cover member.

[0004] As an example of such an operating knob, Patent Document 1 discloses a nut for a fishing rod reel seat, which is threaded onto the male threads of a reel seat body to move a movable hood, and includes an inner cylindrical body having a female thread on its inner surface for movement that threads onto the male threads of the reel seat body, and an outer cylindrical body fixed to the outside of the inner cylindrical body, the outer cylindrical body having an outer peripheral surface that forms at least a part of the outer peripheral surface of the nut, the outer cylindrical body having a through hole penetrating in an inward / outward direction and a fixing part that fixes the outer peripheral surface of the inner cylindrical body to the inner peripheral surface of the outer cylindrical body at a position farther from the movable hood than the through hole. It also describes that the fixing part preferably has at least one of an adhesive part and a threaded part, and that if the fixing part has an adhesive part, the outer peripheral surface of the inner cylindrical body and the inner peripheral surface of the outer cylindrical body can be easily fixed by adhesive. [0026] Hereinafter, embodiments of the nut, reel seat, and fishing rod according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. Components common to multiple drawings are designated by the same reference numerals throughout the multiple drawings. Please note that the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale for the sake of convenience.

[0027] 1 is a diagram illustrating a fishing rod according to one embodiment of the present invention. As shown in the figure, a fishing rod 1 according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a rod body 2, a reel 6 attached to the rod body 2 via a reel seat 9, and a fishing line guide 10 attached to the rod body 2. In the illustrated embodiment, the reel seat 9 and the fishing line guide 10 each correspond to an attachment part attached to the outer circumferential surface of the rod body.

[0028] The rod body 2 is constructed by connecting, for example, a butt rod 3, a middle rod 5, and a tip rod 7. These rod bodies are joined, for example, in a straight joint. The butt rod 3, middle rod 5, and tip rod 7 can be joined by a telescoping type, a reverse straight joint type, a spigot joint type, or any other known joining type. The rod body 2 may also be constructed from a single rod body.

[0029] The butt rod 3, middle rod 5, and tip rod 7 are each constructed, for example, as a tubular body made of fiber-reinforced resin. This fiber-reinforced resin tubular body is produced by winding a fiber-reinforced resin prepreg (prepreg sheet) in which reinforcing fibers are impregnated with a matrix resin around a core and then heating and curing the prepreg sheet. The reinforcing fibers contained in the prepreg sheet can be, for example, carbon fiber, glass fiber, or any other known reinforcing fiber. The matrix resin contained in the prepreg sheet can be a thermosetting resin such as epoxy resin. After the prepreg sheet has cured, the core is removed. The outer surface of the tubular body is polished as appropriate. Each rod body may be constructed in a solid shape.

[0030] In the illustrated embodiment, the butt rod 3, middle rod 5, and tip rod 7 are provided with a plurality of line guides 10 (line guides 10A-10D) that guide the fishing line that is let out from the reel 6 attached to the reel seat 9. More specifically, the butt rod 3 is provided with line guide 10A, the middle rod 5 is provided with line guide 10B, and the tip rod 7 is provided with line guide 10C. A top guide 10D is provided at the tip of the tip rod 7, but details will be omitted.

[0031] Next, referring to FIG. 2, a reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention, which includes a reel seat body 12 and a nut 8, will be described. As shown in the figure, the reel seat 9 according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a reel seat body 12 having a reel leg support surface (reel leg support portion) 12a along its axial direction on which the reel leg 6a of the fishing reel 6 is placed. The reel seat body 12 is formed into a cylindrical shape as a whole. The reel seat body 12 is formed from an appropriate material such as synthetic resin (e.g., polyamide synthetic resin, ABS resin, etc.) or metal (e.g., SUS, aluminum, titanium, brass, etc.). The reel seat body 12 can be configured to have a length of, for example, 60 to 160 mm, but is not limited to this.

[0032] In addition, the reel seat body 12 is slightly bulged on the side opposite the reel leg mounting surface 12a, and has a grip portion 12b with a curved outer surface that supports the ball of the foot or the area near it when gripped with the hand.

[0033] The reel leg mounting surface 12a of the reel seat body 12 can be formed flat or approximately flat with a larger curvature than other circumferential portions (e.g., grip portion 12b) adjacent to the reel leg mounting surface 12a of the reel seat body 12, and is formed to extend in the axial direction of the reel seat body 12 as shown in Figure 2. A fixed hood 14 is integrally disposed at one end (rod base side) of the reel seat body 12. One end of the reel leg mounting surface 12a of the reel seat body 12 is disposed inside the fixed hood 14.

[0034] The reel seat body 12 is integrally formed with a cylindrical body with a guide groove formed at its other end (rod butt side) and a threaded portion (male threaded portion) 18. The cylindrical body has a cylindrical portion mounting surface 13 formed contiguous with the reel leg mounting surface 12a of the reel seat body 12 or with a slight step therebetween. The cylindrical portion mounting surface 13 is also formed contiguous with the threaded portion (male threaded portion) 18. At the other end (rod butt side), a movable hood 22 is attached to the outside of the cylindrical body and the threaded portion 18 so as to be movable in the axial direction. The reel seat body 12 and the movable hood 22, or the reel seat body 12, the movable hood 22, and the nut 8 described below, are sometimes referred to as the reel seat 9, but details are omitted here. The movable hood 22 may also refer to a hood body 26 and a reel leg holding portion 28 described below, or may also refer to the movable hood 22 including the nut 8. This specification will be described assuming the latter case.

[0035] 2, the fixed hood 14 of the reel seat main body 12 has an opening 14a that opens toward the movable hood 22 and receives one end of the reel leg 6a. The opening 14a of the fixed hood 14 is formed so that the height of the inner surface gradually decreases toward the front of the reel seat main body 12. When one end of the reel leg 6a is received in this opening 14a and pressed by the opening 14a, the reel leg 6a is urged (pressed) toward the reel leg mounting surface 12a disposed within the fixed hood 14.

[0036] The fixed hood 14 is not limited to being disposed integrally with the reel seat body 12, but may be formed as a separate structure from the reel seat body 12 using metal or hard synthetic resin and firmly fixed to the reel seat body 12. If formed from metal, it is preferable to place a resin member at the portion that comes into contact with the reel leg 6a of the reel 6 to prevent damage to each member due to contact between the metals.

[0037] The movable hood 22 is formed in the shape of a sleeve having an axial hole through which the threaded portion (external threaded portion) 18 of the reel seat body 12 is inserted, and has a hood body 26 and a reel leg holder 28 formed inside the hood body 26. The hood body 26 is made of, for example, synthetic resin. A nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention is rotatably connected to the rear portion (rod butt side) of the hood body 26 of the movable hood 22. The nut 8 includes a nut base portion (described below) and a tubular portion (described below). The nut base portion is made of, for example, synthetic resin, polyamide synthetic resin, ABS resin, or the like, and the tubular portion is made of, for example, SUS, aluminum, brass, or other metal, but is not limited to these.

[0038] Nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention has a female thread portion 24 formed on its inner periphery, which threads onto the thread portion (male thread portion) 18 of reel seat body 12. The front end portion of nut 8 (the end portion of movable hood 22 on the hood body 26 side) is connected (locked) to the rear end portion of hood body 26 of movable hood 22 (the end portion of nut 8 on the front end side) in a relatively rotatable state but in a non-detachable state. More specifically, nut 8 includes a locking portion 25 (see FIG. 3 described later) and is locked to a locked portion 23 (see FIG. 3 described later) at the rear end of hood body 26, allowing free relative rotation while preventing the nut from being dislodged. Various connection structures for nut 8 and hood body 26 are conceivable, and the present invention is not limited to a specific embodiment.

[0039] The nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention is threaded onto the threaded portion (external threaded portion) 18 of the reel seat body 12 and is rotatably disposed thereon. As described above, the hood body 26 is connected to the nut 8, so when the nut 8 is rotated in the forward direction relative to the threaded portion (external threaded portion) 18, the nut 8 approaches the fixed hood 14 and the hood body 26 of the movable hood 22 approaches the fixed hood 14. On the other hand, when the nut 8 is rotated in the reverse direction relative to the threaded portion (external threaded portion) 18, the nut 8 moves away from the fixed hood 14 and the hood body 26 of the movable hood 22 moves away from the fixed hood 14.

[0040] The hood body 26, which is moved in the axial direction of the reel seat body 12 by rotation of the nut 8, has an opening 26a that opens to the front and inner peripheral sides and is fixed with a reel leg holding portion 28 that receives the rear end of the reel leg 6a of the fishing reel 6 disposed therein. The opening 26a of the hood body 26 faces the opening 14a of the fixed hood 14 when the movable hood 22 is attached to the threaded portion (male threaded portion) 18 of the reel seat body 12. The opening 26a of the hood body 26 is formed so that the height of the inner surface gradually decreases toward the rear, in contrast to the opening 14a of the fixed hood 14.

[0041] Next, details of the nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to Figures 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view of a nut according to one embodiment of the present invention, Figure 4 is a view showing the nut base and tubular portion of a nut according to one embodiment of the present invention, and Figure 5 is a view explaining press-fitting and fixing of the nut according to one embodiment of the present invention. Figure 6 is (a) a perspective view of the nut base of a nut according to one embodiment of the present invention, (b) a cross-sectional view of the nut base of a nut according to one embodiment of the present invention, and (c) a side view of the nut base of a nut according to one embodiment of the present invention. Figure 7 is (a) a perspective view of the tubular portion of a nut according to one embodiment of the present invention, (b) a first cross-sectional view of the tubular portion of a nut according to one embodiment of the present invention, (c) an enlarged view of a portion (A) of the cross-section of the tubular portion of a nut according to one embodiment of the present invention, (d) a second cross-sectional view of the tubular portion of a nut according to one embodiment of the present invention, and (e) an enlarged view of a portion (C) of the cross-section of the tubular portion of a nut according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0042] The nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention is adapted to be threaded onto the male threaded portion 18 of the reel seat body 12, which is formed with the reel leg support portion 12a on which the reel leg 6a is placed, and to move the hood body 26 of the movable hood 22. The nut 8 has a recessed portion 16 on its outer peripheral surface and a female threaded portion 24 for movement on its inner peripheral surface, which threads onto the male threaded portion 18 of the reel seat body, and has an end 25 of the nut base 15 engaged with the end 23 of the hood body 26 of the movable hood 22. and a cylindrical portion 17 having a convex portion 19 that engages with the concave portion 16 and is thereby fixed to the outside of the nut base 15. When the convex portion 19 of the cylindrical portion 17 is engaged with the concave portion 16 of the nut base 15, the nut base 15 is subjected to pressure from the cylindrical portion 17 in the circumferential direction of the nut base 15 (approximately the circumferential direction due to press-fitting (the direction indicated by arrow A in FIG. 5(b)) and the radial direction (the radial direction due to press-fitting (the direction indicated by arrow B in FIGS. 5(a) and 5(b))). The tubular portion 17 is press-fitted and fixed to the nut base 15 in this manner. The dimensional width of the press-fitting of the tubular portion 17 into the nut base 15 ranges from 0 mm to 0.25 mm, and more preferably from 0.5 mm to 2.0 mm (even if the dimensional width is 0 mm, the nut base 15 will contact at least one of four circumferential locations due to the non-circular cross-sectional shape). As described above, the nut base 15 is subjected to pressure due to the press-fitting of the tubular portion 17, and the nut base 15, which has a relatively lower hardness than the tubular portion 17, is press-fitted and fixed to the nut base 15 in such a manner that the nut base 15 is slightly deformed to a degree that does not affect the structure or function of the nut base 15. In this way, the tubular portion 17 can be easily and effectively fixed to the nut base 15 without using an adhesive or by using an adhesive only as a supplement, while avoiding any play between the two.

[0043] The nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention can provide a nut that can reliably fix the cylindrical portion to the nut base while reducing rattle of the cylindrical portion relative to the nut base in the rotational and axial directions. More specifically, the nut base 15 reliably fixes the cylindrical portion 17 to the nut base 15 while reducing rattle in the rotational direction by applying pressure in the circumferential direction of the nut base 15 (approximately the circumferential direction (direction indicated by arrow A) by press-fitting), and generates a radial pressing force of the cylindrical portion 17 against the nut base 15 by applying pressure in the radial direction (direction indicated by arrow B) by press-fitting, thereby generating a frictional force between the upper surface 19b of the cylindrical portion 17 and the recessed portion 16 of the nut base 15, thereby reducing rattle of the cylindrical portion 17 in the axial direction (direction of the central axis X of the nut 8) and fixing the cylindrical portion 17 to the nut base 15. Here, because the end 15a of the nut base 15 facing the hood body 26 of the movable hood 22 is formed to protrude radially outward, the end 17a of the cylindrical portion 17 facing the hood body 26 of the movable hood 22 is configured to abut against the end 15a of the nut base 15, thereby restricting movement of the cylindrical portion 15 toward the hood body 26 of the movable hood 22 in the direction of the central axis X of the nut 8. In this way, rattle of the cylindrical portion 17 in the axial direction (the direction of the central axis X of the nut 8) is further reduced, and the fixation between the cylindrical portion 17 and the nut base 15 can be more reliably performed.

[0044] Next, with reference to Figure 6, the structure of the nut base 15 of a nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described. As shown in Figure 6, in the nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention, one or more grooves 20 extending in the central axis direction of the nut base 15 are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the nut base 15, and the recessed portion 16 is a part of the groove 20. Furthermore, in the nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention, each of the plurality of grooves 20 is configured to include a base portion 20a, a sloped portion 20b, an apex 20c, and the recessed portion 16 when viewed from the side of the groove 20 opposite the hood body 26 of the movable hood 22. Furthermore, in the nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention, each of the plurality of grooves 20 may be configured to include a base portion 20a, a sloped portion 20b, an apex 20c, a second sloped portion (not shown), and the recessed portion 16 when viewed from the side of the groove 20 opposite the hood body 26 of the movable hood 22. In this way, when the cylindrical portion 17 is attached to the nut base 15, the convex portion 19 of the cylindrical portion 17 is guided into the base 20a of one of the groove portions 20, and then guided so as to ride up the inclined portion 20b, and once it exceeds the top 20c (or, if there is a second inclined portion, it exceeds the top 20c and is guided so as to descend along the second inclined portion), the convex portion 19 of the cylindrical portion 17 is engaged with the concave portion 16 of the nut base 15, and the cylindrical portion 17 is fixed to the nut base 15.

[0045] Here, one or more grooves 20 may be provided in the nut base 15. When a plurality of grooves 20 are provided in the nut base 15, the number of grooves 20 may be any number equal to or greater than two (which may be an even or odd number). When a plurality of grooves 20 are provided in the nut base 15, the number of grooves 20 may be, for example, two or four, but is not limited to these. Furthermore, when a plurality of grooves 20 are provided in the nut base 15 (for example, at positions of 0°, 90°, 180°, and 270° in the circumferential direction), the cylindrical portion 17 may be provided with a plurality of convex portions 19 (for example, at positions of 0°, 90°, 180°, and 270° in the circumferential direction) corresponding to the respective positions of the plurality of grooves 20 (for example, at positions of 0°, 90°, 180°, and 270° in the circumferential direction). Thus, when attaching the cylindrical portion 17 to the nut base 15, each of the convex portions 19 of the cylindrical portion 17 is guided into the base portion 20a of each of the plurality of groove portions 20, then guided so as to ride up onto the inclined portion 20b, and when it exceeds the peak 20c, if there is a second inclined portion, it is guided so as to exceed the peak 20c and descend along the second inclined portion), whereby each of the convex portions 19 of the cylindrical portion 17 is fitted into and locked into each of the concave portions 16 of the nut base 15, and the cylindrical portion 17 is fixed to the nut base 15. By using the plurality of concave portions 16 and the plurality of convex portions 19, the cylindrical portion 17 can be more firmly fixed to the nut base 15.

[0046] Next, the structure of the cylindrical portion 17 in the nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Fig. 7. As shown in Fig. 7, in the nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the convex portion 19 of the cylindrical portion 15 is formed on the hood body 26 side of the movable hood 22 and is configured to include an inclined portion 19a whose height increases with increasing distance from the hood body 26 of the movable hood 22. Furthermore, in the nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the convex portion 19 of the cylindrical portion 17 is configured to include the inclined portion 19a and an upper surface portion 19b as described above when viewed in the direction of the central axis of the cylindrical portion 17 (the direction of the central axis X of the nut 8).

[0047] Furthermore, in the nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the upper surface portion 19b is configured as a flat portion extending in the direction of the central axis of the cylindrical portion 17 (the direction of the central axis X of the nut 8). In this way, when the cylindrical portion 17 is press-fitted and fixed to the nut base 15, the upper surface portion 19b of the cylindrical portion 17 is formed to press against the bottom surface of the recessed portion 16 of the nut base 15. This applies pressure in the radial direction (the direction indicated by arrow B) due to the press-fitting, generating a pressing force of the cylindrical portion 17 in the radial direction of the nut base 15, thereby generating a frictional force between the upper surface portion 19b of the cylindrical portion 17 and the recessed portion 16 of the nut base 15. This makes it possible to reliably fix the cylindrical portion 17 to the nut base 15 while reducing rattling of the cylindrical portion 17 in the axial direction (the direction of the central axis X of the nut 8).

[0048] In the nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the length of the convex portion 19 of the cylindrical portion 17 in the direction of the central axis of the cylindrical portion 17 (the direction of the central axis X of the nut 8) is 3 mm or more. In addition, in the nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the length of the upper surface portion 19b in the case where it is a flat portion in the direction of the central axis of the cylindrical portion 17 (the direction of the central axis X of the nut 8) is in the range of 0.3 mm to 1.5 mm.

[0049] In the nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the convex portion 19 of the cylindrical portion 17 includes, as viewed in the circumferential direction of the cylindrical portion 17, the upper surface 19b and curved portions 19c extending from both sides of the upper surface 19b in the circumferential direction, and the radius of curvature (R) of the end 19d of the curved portion 19c opposite the upper surface 19b is in the range of 0.5 mm to 0.8 mm. In this way, as shown in Fig. 2, the rounded ends 19d of the curved portions 19c of the cylindrical portion 17 press against the end 16b of the side wall 16a forming the concave portion 16 of the nut base 15, applying pressure in the approximately circumferential direction (the direction indicated by arrow A) by press-fitting, thereby reducing rattling in the rotational direction.

[0050] In the nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the depth of the base portion 20a of the groove 20 (the radial depth of the nut base 15) is set to be deeper than the depth of the recess 16 of the groove 20 (the radial depth of the nut base 15) by 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm. In this way, the groove 20 can easily guide the convex portion 19.

[0051] The nut 8 according to one embodiment of the present invention has an inclined portion 19a of the convex portion 19 of the cylindrical portion 17, and the inclination angle of the inclined portion 20b of the groove portion 20 is configured to be the same as or different from the inclination angle of the inclined portion 19c of the convex portion 19 of the cylindrical portion 17. In this way, the convex portion 19 can be easily locked into the recessed portion 16.
