Abstract

To provide a coin identification device, a coin processor, and a method for discharging static electricity from coins that can suppress noise caused by static electricity in coin image data.SOLUTION: A coin identification device includes: a conveying path through which coins are transported; a line sensor for acquiring coin images including a light emitter that irradiates one coin face of the coin with a line-shaped light extending in the main scanning direction, a light receiver extending in the main scanning direction to receive light reflected from the coin face and output an image signal, a housing with an opening that accommodates the light emitter and the light receiver, and a cover that covers the opening and forms the conveying surface over which the coins are conveyed; and an electrostatic discharging unit that discharges static electricity from the coin while the light receiver is receiving light reflected from the coin surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
