AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing medical devices for inserting glucose sensors under the skin require manual operation, which makes it difficult to control the force, position, and timing of needle insertion, leading to inaccurate glucose concentration readings.

Method used

An administration device with a housing, auxiliary mechanism, and drive mechanisms that control the insertion and removal of a puncture member, ensuring accurate placement and removal of medical devices subcutaneously.

Benefits of technology

The device simplifies and accurately administers medical devices by controlling puncture force, depth, and timing, enhancing user experience and accuracy of glucose concentration readings.

Abstract

To provide an administering device capable of administering a medical instrument to a host while its manipulation is simple.SOLUTION: An administering device (1000) for administering a medical instrument (800) to a host comprises a housing, an auxiliary mechanism, and a drive mechanism. The housing comprises a first holding part, a proximal end close to the host in manipulation, and a distal end far from the host in manipulation. The auxiliary mechanism comprises: a motion body held by the first holding part releasably and arranged movably relative to the housing in release; a housing part; and a puncture member. The drive mechanism is arranged to act on the motion body toward the proximal end. When the motion body is released by the first holding part, the motion body is driven by the drive mechanism toward the proximal end to arrange the medical instrument housed in the housing part under the skin of the host via the puncture member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
