Abstract

To provide an endoscope system and an operation method for the same which is capable of image display in a form appropriate to observation while realizing a dark-time condition and an intense bright-time condition even while an endoscope is used.SOLUTION: A light source control part 22 performs lighting control or color matching of illumination light according to an observation lighting control color matching condition in an observation light emission period TC, performs a lighting control color matching condition for a damage of flake detection in a light emission period TW for damage of flake detection shorter than the observation light emission period TC, and performs lighting control or color matching of the illumination light according to a lighting control color matching condition for sunspot damage detection in a light emission period TB for sunspot damage detection shorter than the observation light emission period TC.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
