The absorbent article (1) according to any one of claims 1 to 19, further comprising a pair of side flaps (12, 13) arranged on one of the first waist edge (2) or the second waist edge (4), each side flap (12, 13) extending in the transverse direction (T) from a proximal attached end to a free distal end, and comprising a fastener (14, 15) arranged at the distal end of the side flap (12, 13).
