Abstract
Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a weighted safe, and more particularly to a technique for preventing theft of a safe. [Background technology]
[0002] The heavier the safe, the harder it is to steal. However, heavy safes are difficult to transport when purchased, or when rearranging or moving, and the associated transportation costs increase. Therefore, there is a high demand for lightweight safes. However, small safes have the risk of being easily carried away even if the lock cannot be opened. To prevent such a situation, a large safe is installed even if the amount of items stored inside the safe is small. However, installing a large safe often makes the room smaller and the safe becomes an obstacle. In addition, large safes are uneconomical because of their high cost and shipping costs. Furthermore, one method for dealing with small safes is to attach or fasten them to building structures (pillars) or furniture with chains or wires, but these cannot be installed without suitable structures (pillars) or furniture, and it is possible that the chains or wires may be cut and stolen in order to remove the safe, which could lead to damage to the structure, furniture, etc., and could result in greater secondary damage. Therefore, attaching or fastening a safe to a building structure (pillar) or other structure is not an ideal or perfect method. Therefore, there was a need for a structure that would allow the safe to be carried around as needed, yet be less susceptible to theft as a standalone safe.
[0003] To address this problem, various techniques have been proposed, such as a safe with an anti-theft fastener (see Patent Document 1), which is a well-known technique. More specifically, this is an anti-theft fastener for a safe that can fix the safe to a building with a simple structure and cannot be easily cut off, and is a safe structure that includes a fixing member that is adhesively fixed to the wall surface of the safe, an anchor member that is fixed to the building, and a chain member that connects the fixing member and the anchor member. However, if there is no building structure nearby that can be used for fixing, the safe cannot be fixed, and the above problem has not yet been solved. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0004] [Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2004-27485 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0005] In view of the above problems, the present invention aims to provide a safe that is lightweight and portable, yet is integrated with a base, making it less susceptible to theft and contributing to reduced transportation costs. [Means for solving the problem]
[0006] In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention provides a weighted safe consisting of a weight portion and a safe portion, wherein the weight portion is structured to cover at least a portion of the safe portion and is positioned adjacent to the safe portion, the weight portion and the safe portion can be in both an integrated state and a separable state, and the total weight of the weight portion and the safe portion is such that it is difficult to move by human power.
[0007] The present invention also employs a means for having a surface fixing portion on one surface of the safe portion, which is fixed with a bolt from the inner wall side of the safe portion through a through hole, the surface fixing portion abutting against a weight portion, the weight portion having a locking portion, which when locked has a locking bar protruding from it, the surface fixing portion having a locking hole corresponding to the locking bar, when the locking portion is locked the locking bar and the locking hole fit together and the safe portion and the weight portion are integrated, and when the locking portion is unlocked the locking bar moves away from the locking hole and the safe portion and the weight portion can be separated.
[0008] Furthermore, the present invention employs a means in which the lid of the safe has a weight locking bar that can move horizontally, and the weight has a locking bar hole that corresponds to the weight locking bar, and when the safe is locked, the weight locking bar penetrates the side of the safe and engages with the locking bar hole in the weight, thereby integrating the safe and weight, and when the safe is unlocked, the weight locking bar is housed within the lid, and the safe and weight can be separated.
[0009] Furthermore, the present invention employs a means in which the lid of the safe has a weight fixing bar, which is rotatable integrally with the lid, the end of the weight fixing bar is provided with an engaging protrusion that protrudes circumferentially in the rotational direction of the weight fixing bar, the weight is provided with an engaging hole that corresponds to the engaging protrusion, and when the safe is locked and the lid is closed, the engaging protrusion engages with the engaging hole of the weight, and the safe and weight are integrated, and when the safe is unlocked and the lid is open, the engaging protrusion moves away from the engaging hole of the weight, and the safe and weight can be separated.
[0010] Furthermore, the present invention employs a means in which the weight portion is made up of a plurality of parts and is separable. [Effects of the Invention]
[0011] According to the weighted safe of the present invention, the safe itself is lightweight and portable, but by being integrated with the weight, it becomes a safe that is difficult to steal, thereby improving security performance and reducing transportation costs. Figure 7 shows another embodiment of a weighted safe according to the present invention, in which (a) is a perspective view showing an example of a weight covering five sides of the safe, (b) is a front view showing an example of multiple weights arranged on the top, bottom, left and right sides of the safe, and (c) is a front view showing an example of a weight covering two sides when the safe is located in a corner.
[0015] The weighted safe 1 has a structure that allows a heavy weight to be fixed to the safe so that theft can be prevented even if there is no building structure nearby that can be used for fixing the safe. The weighted safe 1 comprises a safe portion 10 and a weight portion 50. The safe 10 is based on a typical rectangular parallelepiped fireproof safe weighing about 40 kg, and is surrounded by fireproof walls. The safe 10 has an openable and closable lid 11 on the front and a surface fixing part 20 on the bottom. The lid 11 can be opened and closed around a hinge 14. A lever 12 and a dial 13 are arranged on the lid 11. The dial 13 is rotated to set the number for unlocking, and the lever 12 rotates after the dial 13 is unlocked to release the lock and open the lid 11. The surface fixing part 20 is used to fix the safe part 10 and the weight part 50. It is slightly smaller than the bottom surface of the safe part 10 and has a shape that fits the safe mounting part 51 of the weight part 50. The surface fixing part 20 is fixed to the housing 17, which can also be called the safe main body, with bolts 23. The bottom surface on the inner wall side of the housing 17 has a bolt insertion hole 24, which is a through hole, and the surface fixing part 20 has a bolt fixing hole 25. The positions of the bolt insertion hole 24 and the bolt fixing hole 25 match, and the bolt fixing hole 25 is internally threaded. When attaching the surface fixing part 20 to the safe main body, the bolt 23 is passed from the inside of the safe main body and screwed into the bolt fixing hole 25 of the surface fixing part 20. The safe main body and the surface fixing part 20 are integrated. To separate them, the safe part 10 must be unlocked and the bolt 23 must be loosened from the inside. Therefore, when the safe unit 10 is locked, the housing 17 and the surface fixing unit 20 cannot be separated, and in a situation where theft is possible, the housing 17 and the surface fixing unit 20 are essentially inseparable. A locking hole 21 is provided on the front side of the surface fixing part 20. The locking hole 21 corresponds to the locking rod 53 of the locking part 52 of the weight part 50, and by fitting the locking rod 53 into the locking hole 21, the safe part 10 and the weight part 50 are integrated. A movement restricting protrusion 22 is provided on the back side of the surface fixing part 20. The movement restricting protrusion 22 corresponds to the safe movement restricting part 54 of the weight part 50, and is intended to prevent the safe part 10 and the weight part 50 from being separated from each other from the back side when the locking part 52 is in the locked state. In this embodiment, the surface fixing part 20 is placed on the bottom surface, but it may also be placed on the side or top surface of the safe part 10. In that case, the locking part 52 of the weight part 50 is also placed in a corresponding position to make it possible to fix the safe part 10.
[0016] The weight unit 50 is structured to cover the lower portion of the safe unit 10. When integrated, it is disposed below the safe unit. The weight portion 50 has a generally truncated quadrangular pyramid shape, and the center portion is recessed to cover the lower portion of the safe portion 10. The weight is, for example, about 40 kg, which, when combined with the weight of the safe, makes it difficult to steal. The recessed portion of the weight unit 50 is a safe placement portion 51, which is the portion that the safe unit 10 abuts against and is placed on. A locking portion 52 is disposed on the front portion of the weight unit 50. When locked, the locking section 52 projects the locking bar in the rear direction, and when unlocked, the locking bar is accommodated within the locking section 52. When the key 90 is locked from the front, the weight unit 50 and the safe unit 10 are integrated, and when the key 90 is unlocked, the weight unit 50 and the safe unit 10 can be separated.
[0017] As shown in Fig. 1(a), the safe with weight 1 usually has an integrated safe section 10 and weight section 50. For example, the safe section 10 weighs 40 kg, and the weight section 50 weighs 40 kg. The 40 kg safe unit 10 can be lifted manually, but the 80 kg safe unit 10 and weight unit 50 are too heavy for at least one person to move, and are difficult to lift by one person. Furthermore, if the safe unit 10 weighs 80 kg, the risk of theft is reduced, but it is often inconvenient because it cannot be easily moved even if you try to move it a little. Therefore, by making it possible to change between a state in which the safe section 10 and the weight section 50 are integrated as shown in Figure 1(a) and a state in which the safe section 10 and the weight section 50 are separated as shown in Figure 1(b), it is possible to make it easy to move while also preventing theft. Furthermore, the weight of the weight portion 50 can be determined appropriately as needed, and by increasing the weight of the weight portion 50, it is possible to make it so heavy that when it is integrated with the safe portion 10, even multiple people will have difficulty lifting it.
[0018] The operation will be explained with reference to Figure 2. Figure 2(a) is a front view of the weighted safe 1. The safe unit 10 is placed on the weight unit 50. The weight unit 50 has a shape that generally covers the vicinity of the bottom of the safe unit 10 from all four sides, and has an overall quadrangular pyramid shape. There is a hole for locking part 52 on the front of weight part 50, and locking part 52 is installed at the back. Locking part 52 is structured so that locking rod 53 protrudes when locked, and locking rod 53 is stored inside locking part 52 when unlocked. 2(b) to (d) show the process from unlocking to separation of the safe part 10 and weight part 50. 2(b) shows the safe unit 10 and weight unit 50 integrated together. The surface fixing unit 20 of the safe unit 10 corresponds to the safe mounting unit 51 of the weight unit 50, and the locking bar 53 of the locking unit 52 is inserted into and fits into the locking hole 21 of the surface fixing unit 20. Even if one tries to lift only the safe unit 10, because the safe unit 10 and weight unit 50 are integrated by the locking bar 53 and the locking hole 21, both the safe unit 10 and weight unit 50 must be lifted. The locking unit 52 is unlocked using a key 90.
[0019] When the user attempts to separate the safe part 10 and the weight part 50, as shown in FIG. 2(c), the user inserts the key 90 into the locking part 52 to unlock it. When unlocked, the locking rod 53 of the locking part 52 is housed within the locking part 52 and moves away from the locking hole 21. Therefore, the safe part 10 and the weight part 50 can be separated. By lifting the front part of the safe unit 10, the user separates the movement restricting protrusion 22 of the surface fixing unit 20 from the safe movement restricting unit 54 of the weight unit 50, allowing the user to lift the safe unit 10 above the weight unit 50 (Figure 2(d)). In this way, the safe unit 10 and the weight unit 50 are usually integrated together to prevent theft, and when it is necessary to move the safe, the safe unit 10 and the weight unit 50 can be easily separated, thereby improving the convenience of the user in managing the safe.
[0020] In this embodiment, an example is shown in which the weight portion 50 is placed under the safe portion 10, but the present invention also includes a structure in which the weight portion 50 covers at least a portion of the safe portion 10 and is placed in contact with the safe portion 10. By adopting such a structure, the weight section 50 and the safe section 10 can be integrated.
[0021] A modified example will be described with reference to FIG. 3(a) is a view from the front. As shown by the dotted lines, the safe section 10 is provided with a lock bar slide section 16, a lock bar 15, and a weight lock bar 30. The lock bar 15 and the weight lock bar 30 are movable horizontally. The lock bar slide 16 and lock bar 15 have a structure that is also used in ordinary safes. The lock bar slide 16 is the part that links the lever 12 and lock bar 15. When a user rotates the lever 12 to unlock and open the lid 11, the lock bar slide 16 converts the rotational movement of the lever 12 into horizontal movement of the lock bar 15 by the action of a cam or the like. When locked, the locking bars 15 fit into corresponding holes on the side of the safe through the lid 11, preventing the lid 11 from being forced open. In this embodiment, three standard locking bars 15 are used. When locked, the safe 10 has a structure in which the lid 11 and the housing 17 are integrated by a plurality of locking rods 15, preventing the lid from being pried open.
[0022] In this embodiment, in addition to the general lock rod 15, a weight lock rod 30 is provided. The weight lock rod 30 is longer than the normal lock rod 15, and when locked, it penetrates the wall of the safe and is inserted into the lock rod hole 60 in the weight part 50. The locking rod 30 for the weight is inserted into the locking rod hole 60 of the weight part 50 and fitted together, thereby integrating the safe part 10 and the weight part 50. 3(b) to 3(d), the process from locking to unlocking and separation of the safe part 10 and the weight part 50 will be described. 3(b) shows the locked state. The weight locking bar 30 protruding from the locking bar slide 16 of the lid 11 penetrates the wall of the safe 10 and is inserted into the locking bar hole 60 of the weight 50. Therefore, the safe 10 cannot move relative to the weight 50 and is integrated with it. 3(c) shows the unlocked state after the lever 12 has been rotated. By rotating the lever 12, the rotation is transmitted to the lock bar slide portion 16, causing the lock bar 15 and the weight lock bar 30 to move horizontally. The weight locking rod 30 moves toward the locking rod slide portion 16 and is housed inside the lid portion 11. In terms of the operation of the lid 11, both the locking rod 15 and the weight locking rod 30 move away from the housing 17, so the lid 11 is free to open and close. Next, looking at the relationship between the safe unit 10 and the weight unit 50, the locking rod for weight 30 is now separated from the locking rod hole 60, so that the safe unit 10 and the weight unit 50 can be separated. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 3(d), the safe 10 can be moved from the weight 50. As described above, according to this embodiment, the safe portion 10 and the weight portion 50 can be separated by unlocking the safe, which is convenient and does not require any other key.
[0023] Another modified example will be described with reference to FIG. 4(a) is a front view of the safe 10. A weight fixing bar 40 is disposed in the safe 10. The weight fixing bar 40 is disposed on the lid 11 and moves in conjunction with the opening and closing of the lid 11. Fitting projections 41 are disposed on both ends of the weight fixing bar 40. The fitting protrusion 41 corresponds to the fitting hole 70 of the weight portion 50, and when the lid portion 11 is closed, the fitting protrusion 41 is inserted into the fitting hole 70, and when the lid portion 11 is opened, the fitting protrusion 41 moves away from the fitting hole 70. The operation of the weight fixing bar 40 will be explained with reference to FIGS. 4(b) and 4(c). 4(b) shows the state in which the lid 11 is closed. Both ends of the weight fixing bar 40 installed on the lid 11 are in contact with corresponding positions on the weight 50. Furthermore, the fitting protrusions 41 of the weight fixing bar 40 are inserted laterally into the fitting holes 70 of the weight 50, thereby restricting the safe 10 from moving upward relative to the weight 50. Therefore, the safe portion 10 is integrated with the weight portion 50. Next, in Figure 4(c), the safe 10 is unlocked and the lid 11 is open. The fitting protrusion 41 and the lock bar hole 60 are separated from each other, so they do not restrict the movement of the safe 10. Therefore, the safe 10 is movable relative to the weight 50. As described above, according to this embodiment, the safe portion 10 and the weight portion 50 can be separated by unlocking the safe, which is convenient as no other key is required.
[0024] Furthermore, by having the safe section 10 and weight section 50 be able to be both integrated and separated, the theft prevention effect of the safe can be enhanced. Note that although a locking mechanism has been described in this embodiment, bolts and nuts that have a locking function themselves can also be used. This simplifies the overall structure.
[0025] Another modified example will be described with reference to FIG. For example, when placing a piano in a room, the floor may need to be reinforced to withstand the weight of the piano. It would be counterproductive to make the safe smaller so that the floor can withstand its weight. Therefore, if the weight of the safe is distributed and the floor can withstand it, there is no need to reinforce the floor. Structurally, by attaching a weight with a chain to the safe, similar to lowering an anchor when a ship is docked, weight is not concentrated in one place. This allows the weight to be distributed, and by increasing the weight of the safe, it becomes more difficult to carry the safe out.
[0026] In terms of increasing the weight of the safe 10, theft prevention can also be achieved by attaching a weight 80 to the safe 10 as shown in FIG. Theft prevention can be achieved by attaching a chain fixing part 82 to the safe part 10 and the weight 80 and fixing them together with a chain 81. In the example of Figure 5, if the safe weighs 40 kg and the weight is 20 kg, the total weight becomes 80 kg, making theft difficult. The weight attached to the chain can be removed with a key, which reduces the unit's weight and makes it easier to move when moving or rearranging.
[0027] Another modified example will be described with reference to FIG. In this embodiment, a case where one weight unit 50 is used for the safe unit 10 has been described, but it is also possible to consider a case where the weight unit 50 is made up of multiple parts, stacked one on top of the other, and made separable. It is convenient to be able to change the weight of the weight unit 50 for the safe unit 10 according to the needs and the strength of the house, etc. Also, by increasing the number of weights, the weight can be increased to a level that makes it difficult for multiple people to lift, which further prevents theft. Therefore, the weight unit 50 is configured to be made up of multiple parts. 6(a) and 6(b) show a case where the weight section 50 of the weighted safe 1 of FIG. 2 is made up of three weights 55, 56, and 57. Each weight has a locking section 52 attached thereto. In Figure 6(a), the shape of the weight portion 50 in Figure 2 is weight 55, and below weight 55 is placed rectangular parallelepiped weight 56, and below that is placed rectangular parallelepiped weight 57, so that multiple weights are stacked. 6(b), the shape of weight portion 50 in FIG. 2 is weight 55, there is weight 56 that wraps around weight 55, and there is weight 57 that wraps around weight 56. Weight portion 50 as a whole has a laminated shape. The safe part 10 and the weight 55 are fixed by the locking part 52A, the weight 55 and the weight 56 are fixed by the locking part B, and the weight 56 and the weight 57 are fixed by the locking part 52C. If the safe 10 weighs 40 kg and the weights 55, 56, and 57 each weigh 40 kg, the total weight of the safe 10 and weights 55, 56, and 57 is 160 kg, making it extremely difficult to steal even with the strength of multiple people. On the other hand, when moving or rearranging the house, the safe unit 10, weight 55, weight 56, and weight 57 can be separated by unlocking the locking units 52A, 52B, and 52C. Each weighs 40 kg and can be easily moved by hand, making it convenient.
[0028] 6(c) shows the weight-equipped safe 1 of FIG. 3 in the case where the weight section 50 is a stacked type in which two weights 55 and 56 are stacked one on top of the other. Each weight can be integrated with the safe section 10 by a weight locking bar 30. When the safe 10 is locked, the weight lock rod 30 protrudes from the side of the safe 10 and is inserted into the holes in the weights 55 and 56. Therefore, in this state, the safe 10 and the weights 55 and 56 are integrated by the weight locking rod 30, making it difficult to steal. On the other hand, when moving or rearranging, safe 10 can be unlocked and weight lock rod 30 can be stored inside safe 10. Then, weights 55 and 56 are not restricted by weight lock rod 30 and can be separated from each other, which is convenient as they can be moved separately.
[0029] Another modified example will be described with reference to FIG. In this embodiment, an example in which the weight section 50 is disposed near the bottom surface has been described, but the weight section 50 may also be disposed on the side surface or the top surface. For example, as shown in Fig. 7(a), it may be in the shape of a box that covers five sides of the safe unit 10. By using such a shape, not only does the weight of the entire safe increase, but the strength of the entire safe can also be improved by the weight unit 50. The safe unit 10 and the weight unit 50 can be separated by unlocking the locking unit 52. 7(b), multiple weights 50 can be arranged around the safe 10. In this example, two weights 50 are arranged on the bottom of the safe 10, two weights 50 are arranged near the top, and one weight 50 is arranged on each side. Each weight 50 is fixed to another weight 50 or to the safe 10 by a locking part 52. In this way, multiple weights 50 can be combined and fixed to the safe 10, which is convenient as it allows for various patterns of weight combinations to be made according to the required weight and shape. Also, as shown in Figure 7(c), weight units 50 can be placed on two sides of safe unit 10. Safes are often placed in the corners of rooms. Therefore, an L-shaped weight unit 50 is effective for increasing the weight of a safe located in a corner of a room without moving it. By using such a shape, the weight of the safe can be increased while the weight unit 50 protects the periphery of the corner safe.
[0030] Thus, with the weighted safe of the present invention, the safe itself is lightweight and portable, yet by being integrated with the weight, it becomes a safe that is difficult to steal, thereby improving security performance.
[0031] Furthermore, by using a locking rod to secure the safe and the weight, the safe and the weight can be separated only when the safe is unlocked and the lever is rotated, so no locking other than that of the safe is required, making it easier to manage the locking.
[0032] Furthermore, by integrating the safe and the weight with a bar attached to the lid of the safe section, the safe and the weight can be separated only when the safe is unlocked and the lid is opened, so no locking other than that of the safe is required, making it easier to manage the locking.
[0033] Furthermore, since the weight section is made up of multiple parts, it is easy to adjust the overall weight when locked, and it can be easily moved when unlocked, which is convenient when moving or rearranging the furniture. [Industrial Applicability]
[0034] The weighted safe of the present invention has a structure that prevents theft of the safe without being fixed to the surrounding area, and can be used in a variety of situations, whether for business or home use. Therefore, it is believed that the present invention has great industrial applicability. [Explanation of symbols]
