Abstract
Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a method for producing coke and by-products using a coke oven. [Background technology]
[0002] For example, in coke ovens, raw coal is carbonized to produce coke and by-products. The coke produced is then used in blast furnace operations, and the by-product gas produced is refined in a gas refining process to produce purified C gas, tar, ammonium sulfide, etc., which are used as fuel in steel mills or commercialized as chemical products. By-product gas containing impurities such as sulfur and oil is refined in a desulfurization tower in the gas refining process. The desulfurization tower is filled with resin fillers to increase the contact area between the by-products and the absorbent, such as sulfur.
[0003] During the purification of by-product gas in a desulfurization tower, sticky deposits such as tar and sulfur adhere to the resin packing, reducing the gas-liquid contact efficiency. In the past, to improve the gas-liquid contact efficiency in the desulfurization tower, the packing had to be replaced periodically. Furthermore, used packing was treated as industrial waste, resulting in disposal costs.
[0004] On the other hand, techniques for reusing used packing materials rather than disposing of them as industrial waste are known, for example, in Patent Documents 1 and 2. Patent Document 1 discloses a method for cleaning and reusing packing materials, while Patent Document 2 discloses a method for preventing solid matter from adhering to the packing materials in a packed tower. [0005] [Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2018-43220 [Patent Document 2] Patent Publication No. 2021-109124 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0006] The methods disclosed in the above-mentioned Patent Documents 1 and 2 can extend the service life of the packing, but ultimately the packing must be replaced, resulting in the generation of a large amount of used packing, as in the past. Therefore, ultimately, as in the past, the used packing must be disposed of as industrial waste, which incurs costs.
[0007] The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned problems, and an object of the present invention is to propose a method for producing coke and by-products that makes effective use of used resin packings from a packed tower, rather than simply disposing of the used resin packings as industrial waste. [Means for solving the problem]
[0008] The method for producing coke and by-products of the present invention involves charging raw coal and used packed tower resin fillers into a coke oven and carbonizing the raw coal and used packed tower resin fillers to produce coke and by-products.
[0009] In the method for producing coke and by-products according to the present invention configured as described above, (1) A crushing step of crushing the used packed tower resin packing, (2) In the pulverization step, the raw coal is pulverized simultaneously with the pulverization of the used packed tower resin packing; (3) In the crushing step, the used packed tower resin packing is crushed to 50 mm or less. (4) The used resin filler of a packed tower is used resin filler of a packed tower generated in a steelworks, This is considered to be a more preferable solution. [Effects of the Invention]
[0010] In the method for producing coke and by-products of the present invention, used packed tower resin packing is charged into a coke oven together with coke oven raw coal and carbonized to produce coke and by-products. Therefore, used packed tower resin packing, which previously had to be disposed of as industrial waste, can be reused as raw materials for producing coke and by-products. In addition, deposits adhering to the used packed tower resin packing can also be recycled by being charged into the coke oven. [Brief explanation of the drawings]
[0011] [Figure 1] 1 is a flowchart showing one embodiment of a production flow in a method for producing coke and by-products of the present invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0012] In the following detailed description, numerous specific details are set forth to illustrate embodiments of the present invention in order to provide a thorough understanding of the present invention. However, it will be apparent that one or more embodiments may be practiced without such specific details. Also, for the sake of clarity, the drawings may depict well-known structures and devices in simplified form.
[0013] <One embodiment of the production flow for the production of coke and by-products of the present invention> FIG. 1 is a flowchart showing one embodiment of a production flow in the method for producing coke and by-products of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 1, one embodiment of the production flow in the method for producing coke and by-products of the present invention will be described. First, raw coal 2 transported by ship 1 or the like is stored in coal storage yard 3. Next, the raw coal 2 in coal storage yard 3 is pulverized in pulverizer 4. The pulverized raw coal 2 is blended in yard blending 5-1 or tank blending 5-2 based on the type and grade of the raw coal. After that, the moisture is controlled in coal moisture control system (CMC) 6 to produce pulverized coal 7. The pulverized coal 7 is then charged into coke oven 8 and carbonized to produce coke 9 and by-product gas 10. The by-product gas 10 is refined in gas refining process 11 to produce various by-products. The by-products are refined C gas 12 and various chemical products 13, such as tar and ammonium sulfide.
[0014] A feature of the method for producing coke and by-products of the present invention is that, as shown in FIG. 1 , spent packed tower resin packing 15 extracted from a packed tower (desulfurization tower in the case of a coke oven) 14 used to refine a by-product gas 10 discharged from a coke oven 8 is used as a raw material for coke together with raw coal 2. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 1 , spent packed tower resin packing 15 that is removed when the resin packing in the packed tower 14 is replaced is mixed with raw coal 2 in a coal storage yard 3. Thereafter, the spent packed tower resin packing 15, together with raw coal 2, passes through a crusher 4, a yard blending 5-1 or a tank blending 5-2, and a CMC 6 to become powdered coal 7. The powdered coal 7 is then charged into a coke oven 8.
[0015] Spent packed tower resin filler 15, which is charged into a coke oven 8 together with the raw coal 2, is carbonized together with the raw coal 2 in the carbonization chamber of the coke oven 8 to become coke and by-products. Deposits such as tar and sulfur adhering to the spent packed tower resin filler 15 are also carbonized in the coke oven 8 to become coke 9 and by-product gas 10. The produced coke 9 is used as a raw material for a blast furnace, and the by-product gas 10 is refined in a gas refining process 11 to produce purified C gas 12 and various chemical products 13 such as tar and ammonium sulfide.
[0016] Hereinafter, a pulverization step using the used packed tower resin packing 15 and the pulverizer 4, which is used in one embodiment of the method for producing coke and by-products of the present invention, will be described.
[0017] (Regarding used packed tower resin filler 15) In the method for producing coke and by-products of the present invention, resin packings such as Terralet (registered trademark), Raschig rings, Pall rings, and Intalox saddles are used as the resin packing for the packed tower to obtain the spent resin packing 15. These resin packings are preferred because they have a large effective area and can ensure high gas-liquid contact efficiency. Polypropylene (PP) resin or polyethylene (PE) resin is preferably used as the resin.
[0018] The packed tower 14 that generates the spent packed tower resin filler 15 is not particularly limited, but for example, spent packed tower resin filler 15 used in a desulfurization tower in a coke oven gas purification process may be used. In order to prevent impurities from being mixed into the downstream process and to reduce transportation costs, it is preferable to use spent packed tower resin filler 15 generated within a steelworks, and even more preferable is spent packed tower resin filler 15 generated in a purification process of by-products obtained in a coke oven.
[0019] (Regarding the crushing process using crusher 4) As the pulverizer 4, for example, a hammer crusher can be used when the raw coal 2 and the used packed tower resin filler 15 are mixed and then pulverized. Also, when the used packed tower resin filler 15 is pulverized alone, a wood crusher, chipper, or the like can be used. To improve transportability (to prevent snagging and clogging along the way), it is preferable to pulverize the used packed tower resin filler 15 to a size of 50 mm or less.
[0020] In the embodiment of the present invention described above, the spent packed tower resin filler 15 generated in the packed tower 14 is mixed with the raw coal 2 in the coal storage yard 3 and then pulverized in the pulverizer 4. In this regard, in another embodiment of the present invention, the spent packed tower resin filler 15 generated in the packed tower 14 can be directly charged into the coke oven 8 together with the powdered raw coal 2 for carbonization without being mixed with the raw coal 2 and pulverized. However, in this other embodiment, the spent packed tower resin filler 15 may get caught during transportation, resulting in poor efficiency. Therefore, as in the embodiment described above, it is preferable to mix the spent packed tower resin filler 15 generated in the packed tower 14 with the raw coal 2 in the coal storage yard 3, then pulverize it in the pulverizer 4, and then charge it into the coke oven 8. Furthermore, the pulverization of the spent packed tower filler 15 is not limited to the form of mixing the spent packed tower filler 15 with the raw coal 2 and then pulverizing it. For example, the used packed tower resin filler 15 may be crushed separately, then mixed with the raw coal 2, and crushed again together with the raw coal 2, or the used packed tower resin filler 15 and the raw coal 2 may be crushed separately and then directly charged into the coke oven 8. [Example]
[0021] Example 1 The used resin packing from the packed tower was transported as is (without being crushed) along a raw coal transport line and loaded into a coal loading car, which was then directly charged into a coke oven together with powdered coal. In this case, coke and by-products were produced without any problems, but there were cases where the packing got caught on the grate along the way or became clogged in the feeder of the coal loading car.
[0022] <Example 2> In contrast to Example 1, the used resin packing material in the packed tower was crushed in advance (to about 50 mm or less, the same size as molded coal). In this case, clogging did not occur along the way, and the problem of transportability was resolved. Coke and by-products could also be produced without any problems.
[0023] From the above Examples 1 and 2, it is clear that coke and by-products can be produced without any problems in both Examples 1 and 2. It is also clear that crushing the used resin packing in the packed tower beforehand as in Example 2 is more preferable than directly charging the used resin packing in the packed tower as it is (without crushing) into the coke oven as in Example 1. [Industrial Applicability]
[0024] As described above, by charging the spent resin packing into a coke oven together with coke oven raw coal and carbonizing it, the spent resin packing, which had previously had to be disposed of as industrial waste, can be reused as a raw material for producing coke and by-products. As a result, when producing coke and by-products using a coke oven, the production costs can be reduced, which is industrially useful. [Explanation of symbols]
