Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention is a two-piece kimono and a simple kimono set with an obi that can be easily worn even by a novice.
[0002] Conventional kimonos are made in one piece from the neck to the hem, and are usually sewn in a straight cut and longer than a person's height so as to accommodate relatively wide sizes and heights. Therefore, it is necessary to create an "ohashori" at the waist, but since a person's body has different sizes (circumference) at the chest, torso, and waist, and there are differences in each size among people, a fair amount of skill is required to wear it along the body and with a beautiful appearance. Also, in the case of the obi, it is very difficult to wrap a single long piece around the body and tie it in a place where the back is not visible, which is more difficult than wearing a kimono. Therefore, it is common to have a professional put on a conventional kimono, and for this reason, although it is a Japanese-only kimono, there is a reason why it cannot be worn on a daily basis except for special events.

Summary of the Invention
[0004] As described in the aforementioned prior literature, in conventional two-piece kimonos, the long garment with a collar is divided into upper and lower halves, and these divided halves are sewn together before wearing, which presents the problem that wearing the kimono requires considerable skill. Furthermore, in order to improve the appearance of the collar of the upper garment, it is necessary to fold the collar towards the back after it has been worn. In addition, tying the obi (sash) in a place that is not easily visible on the back presents the problem of extreme difficulty. Moreover, when the garment is divided into upper and lower halves, the "ohashori" (fold at the waist) at the waist is made to be approximately horizontal to the bottom edge of the obi, which requires considerable skill to put on. Means to solve these problems
[0005] In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention provides a two-piece kimono consisting of an upper garment, a lower garment, and a belt, wherein the upper garment is characterized in that the central part of the collar, which is located around the wearer's neck, is concave when viewed from the front.
[0006] Furthermore, the garment is a two-piece kimono consisting of an upper garment, a lower garment, and a belt portion, wherein the belt portion includes a fastening band and a waist wrap portion that are wrapped around the wearer's waist, the waist wrap portion includes a back portion that faces the wearer's back and a drum portion that extends upward from the back portion and is folded outwards, and the obiage (sash) placed between the back portion and the drum portion is provided with an engaging portion that engages with a locking portion provided on the back portion.
[0007] Furthermore, the lower garment is characterized by comprising a wrap-around, securing strip of fabric that is wrapped around the wearer's waist, and an ohashori portion that extends downward from the wrap-around, securing strip of fabric and is folded outwards. Effects of the invention
[0008] The two-piece kimono of this invention is separated into an upper garment and a lower garment, so it does not feel restrictive when worn and allows for relatively smooth body movement. Furthermore, the collar of the upper garment has a shape in which the central part is indented downwards when viewed from the front, so that the collar is already pulled back simply by putting on the upper garment. This eliminates the need to pull back the collar after putting on the upper garment, thus shortening the time it takes to get dressed. In addition, even if the upper garment loses its shape, the collar will not return to its original position and come close to the nape of the neck, thus providing an added benefit.
[0009] The two-piece kimono of the present invention is separated into an upper garment and a lower garment, so it does not feel restrictive when worn and allows for relatively smooth body movement. The obi (sash) portion comprises a band that wraps around the wearer's waist and a waist wrap portion. This obi portion has a back portion that faces the wearer's back and a drum portion that extends upward from the back portion and folds outwards. The obiage (sash tie) placed between the back portion and the drum portion is provided with an engaging portion that engages with a locking portion provided on the back portion. As a result, the band, waist wrap portion, drum portion, and obiage can be integrated before being wrapped around the wearer's waist, and the kimono can be put on simply by wrapping this integrated obi portion around the wearer's waist.
[0010] Furthermore, in the present invention, the lower garment is equipped with a wrap-around fixing strip of fabric that wraps around the wearer's waist and an ohashori portion that extends downward from the wrap-around fixing strip and is folded outwards. As a result, after putting on the upper garment, the lower garment can be wrapped around the body like a wrap skirt, and when worn, the ohashori portion is positioned to be approximately horizontal with respect to the waistline, improving the appearance. [0012] Embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. The two-piece kimono 1 of the present invention consists of an upper garment 3, a lower garment 2, and a belt portion 40. As shown in Figure 1, the lower garment 2 is formed by sewing together the vertical edges of two vertically elongated rectangular pieces of fabric of the same size, which have been cut in the length direction, to form the back panels 14 and 15. Then, the front panels 13 and 16 are formed by sewing pieces of fabric of approximately the same size as the back panels 14 and 15, or slightly shorter in width, to both sides of the back panels 14 and 15. Furthermore, the front panels 11 and 18, which are approximately half the width of the front panels 13 and 16, are sewn to both sides of the front panels 13 and 16.
[0013] A wrap-around fixing belt-length cloth 4 is sewn to the upper edges of the back panels 14, 15, the front panels 13, 16, and the front lapels 11, 18. This wrap-around fixing belt-length cloth 4 has an elastic band built into the center 5 in the left-right direction. Gathers 6 are formed in the predetermined width portion where this elastic band is provided. In addition, hook-and-loop fasteners 8A and 8B are fixed to the inside of one side (left side in Figure 1) of this wrap-around fixing belt-length cloth 4. On the other hand, hook-and-loop fasteners 8C and 8D are provided on the outside of the wrap-around fixing belt-length cloth 4 to engage with and fix the hook-and-loop fasteners 8A and 8B. Tucks 7 are provided on the left and right back panels 14 and 15. Furthermore, an ohashori portion 17 is provided that extends downward from the wrap-around fixing belt-length cloth 4 and is folded back outwards. The ohashori portion 17 is equipped with a collar tip portion 17A, making it possible to wear the garment in a way that looks the same as when wearing a regular kimono simply by wrapping the lower garment around the waist.
[0014] When wearing the lower garment 2 described above, grasp both ends of the wrap-around fixing strip 4 and wrap it around the wearer's torso with the elastic band slightly stretched. In this state, fasten it with the hook-and-loop fasteners 8A to 8D (8A and 8C, and 8B and 8D engage with each other), which are fasteners provided between both ends and the gather 6. After that, the elastic band will contract, and the gather 6 will be created in the center. This makes it possible to wear the garment with a comfortable fit that is neither constricting nor loose. The hook-and-loop fasteners 8A and 8B are fixed to the back of the wrap-around fixing strip 4, and the hook-and-loop fasteners 8C and 8D are fixed to the front. Furthermore, by providing tucks 7 at the upper ends of the back panels 14 and 15, an even more fitted garment can be worn.
[0015] Furthermore, the lower garment 2 of the present invention is designed so that simply wrapping the lower garment 2 around the torso creates a "tapered hem," which is one of the elements that enhances the beauty of a kimono. The length of the lower garment 2 is gradually shortened from both sides 12 of the back panels 14 and 15 to the front panels 13 and 16, and then to the front lapels 11 and 18. In the embodiment of the present invention, the length of the standing hem 10 of the upper front lapel 11 is shortened by approximately 4 cm from the side of the back panel, and the length of the standing hem 19 of the lower front lapel 18 is shortened by approximately 8 cm by sewing these into the wrap-around fixing strip fabric 4. In this way, simply wrapping the lower garment 2 around the torso causes both the lower and upper front lapels to rise naturally, resulting in a beautiful "tapered hem" silhouette. Furthermore, the side seams 12, 12 of the back panels 14, 15 and the front panels 13, 16 are curved 12A, 12B (see Figure 1(b)) on the side closest to the wrap-around fixing strip 4. This type of seam allows for a more body-hugging fit.
[0016] As shown in Figures 2, 3, 4, and 5, the jacket 3 consists of a main body made up of left and right front panels 20, 21, a back panel 22, and a collar 23 with a concave shape in the center of the back, to which both sleeves 24, 25 are sewn. The aforementioned collar 23 has a concave shape in the center when viewed from the front. This jacket 3 has the following distinctive structure. The collar around the shoulders of the jacket 3 is usually cut and sewn in a straight line so that it can be worn while maintaining a gentle U-shaped curve that naturally follows the neckline. However, by cutting and sewing the collar in a curved shape so that the center is concave downwards when viewed from the front, the jacket can be worn with the collar pulled back to the wearer's shoulders in a way that is optimal for the wearer. Therefore, the jacket 3 will not lose its shape and the collar will not return to its original position.
[0017] Furthermore, in the left and right front panels 20 and 21 of the upper garment 3, the length of the left and right front panels 20 and 21 is extended from both sides 31 to the collar edge 26. This ensures sufficient length to compensate for the thickness of the chest area and the amount the collar is pulled up when putting on the garment, and also takes into consideration that the lower edge 28 to the lower edge 27 will have a gentle slope after putting on the garment.
[0018] The collar 23 consists of a base collar and a matching collar, and is sewn in a straight line continuously from the shoulder area of the upper garment 3 to the lower front panel 32, the right front panel 20, the back panel 22, the left front panel 21, and the upper front panel 33, curving the shoulder area. The seam line 34 from the shoulder to the back panel 22 is sewn with a rounded cut instead of the straight cut that is typical for kimonos. As a result, the collar naturally curves when the upper garment 3 is worn, maintaining a beautiful appearance.
[0019] As shown in Fig. 3, the back body 22 of the upper garment 3 has darts 35 formed by pinching 3 cm at a position about 15 cm from the center of the back 9 and about 15 cm from the upper edge 36 as required, with a length of about 11 cm. In the illustrated example, one dart is formed on each of the left and right sides. By providing the darts 35 in this way, even if there is a difference in size between the waist circumference and the body circumference, it can be worn along the body without strange wrinkles occurring. Further, the portion where the darts 35 are formed is hidden by the belt, so there is no impact on the appearance. Additionally, the extra cloth in the body part can be folded along the side line, preventing unnecessary vertical lines (wrinkles) from appearing on the back.
[0020] Next, an embodiment of the belt portion of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. The made belt 40, which is the belt portion of the present invention, includes a back surface portion 46 located on the back side of the wearer, a drum portion 41 that extends upward from this back surface portion 46 and is folded back outward, and a body-wrapping portion 42 that wraps around the wearer's body.
[0021] Furthermore, the aforementioned back portion 46 is provided with an attachment band 43 that wraps around the wearer's waist. This attachment band 43 is elastic and is sewn and fixed to the back side. The waist wrap portion 42 is folded in half lengthwise, with the patterned side facing outwards, and a waist wrap belt 49 with a belt plate attached to the inside is sewn onto it. Instead of wrapping it twice around the waist like a normal belt, the waist wrap portion 42 is simply wrapped once around the waist and then rotated to the wearer's back for easy tying (see Figures 8(d) and 8(e)). In this way, by sewing the waist wrap belt 49, which is made of a slippery material and has a belt plate inside, onto the inside of the waist wrap portion 42, it becomes thick enough even with just one wrap and is designed to prevent wrinkles. It also serves to make it easy to rotate the waist wrap portion 42. Furthermore, locking portions 44A and engaging portions 44B are provided at both ends (see Figures 6(f) and 6(g)). Furthermore, the hand portion 45 is fixed to the inside of the back portion 46, and fasteners 52 are provided on both sides in the longitudinal direction. In addition, fasteners 53 that connect to the fasteners 52 are provided in two places on the left and right sides in the longitudinal direction of the hanging end portion 51. As a result, the back portion 46 and the drum portion 41 can be unfolded, and a mesh back plate 48 and an obi pillow 60 are fixed to the inside of the back portion 46, making it easy to attach the obiage 54. Then, by passing the body wrap portion 42 between the hand portion 45 and the hanging end portion 51, and passing the obijime 62 through the ring-shaped guide member 67 provided between the hand portion 45 and the drum portion 41, the obi is fixed to the wearer's body, resulting in the same shape as a proper drum knot that is less likely to come undone. Furthermore, a thick cushion 68 is fixed to the hanging end portion 51, and when worn, this cushion 68 prevents unnecessary wrinkles from forming on the hanging end portion 51.
[0022] Also, a belted furoshiki 54 is disposed between the back part 46 and the drum part 41, and fasteners 58A and 58B as engaging parts are provided on this belted furoshiki 54. On the other hand, fasteners 59A and 59B as locking parts are provided on the back part 46, and the belted furoshiki 54 is fixed to the back part 46 so as to cover the belt pillow 60 by engaging the fastener 58A with the fastener 59A and the fastener 58B with the fastener 59B, respectively. The belt pillow 60 is fixed to the upper part of the rear plate 48 of the inner mesh of the back part 46 of the fabric belt 40.
[0023] Figure 6(d) The following figure is a plan view showing the fabric belted furoshiki of the present invention. The right side 55 in the width direction of the long belted furoshiki 54 is folded four or more times, the left side 56 in the width direction is folded four times, an elastic thickness retaining material is provided at the upper part of the left side 56, and it is sewn obliquely from the upper part to the lower part of the left side 56. The ring-shaped cloth 57 formed of the lining is made movable without being fixed through the left side 56. By doing so, it looks like a real knot just by moving and arranging the ring-shaped cloth 57 formed of the lining without tying the belted furoshiki 54 in front of the belt, and since a thickness is provided in the part visible from the belt, it is easy to maintain a natural and beautiful wearing appearance. Also, fasteners 58A and 58B are provided on the back side of the fabric belted furoshiki, and fasteners 59A and 59B that are respectively coupled to the fasteners 58A and 58B are provided at both ends of the upper part of the rear plate 48 of the inner mesh of the back part 46, and they are fixed by engaging with each other, and it is possible to prevent the belt pillow 60 fixed to the upper part of the rear plate 48 of the inner mesh of the back part 46 from being visible when worn.
[0024] The belt fastener 62 of the present invention uses a material suitable for tightening the belt from above the belt of a kimono, and includes an adjustable portion 65 with adjustable length and a locking tool 64 at one end, and an engaging portion 63 at the other end on the opposite side. It is fixed by locking the locking tool 64 and the engaging portion 63, and a decorative knot 66 is provided in the center, so that a full-fledged belt fastener can be worn in a short time.
[0025] Next, the method of wearing the two-piece kimono 1 of the present invention will be explained with reference to Figures 7 and 8. First, the method of wearing the top garment 3 will be explained. First, put on the top garment 3, put your arms through both sleeves of the top garment 3, and then engage the locking part 30 provided on the elastic cord at the side of the back body with the locking part 29 provided on the elastic cord at the side of the back body. Next, tie the cord 37A on the lower front collar side with the cord 37B on the right side of the back body. Then, pass the elastic cord 38 on the upper front collar side through the cord threading 39A, wrap it once from the left side of the back body towards the left front body, and then pass the elastic cord 38 through the cord threading 39B, and engage the locking part 38B provided on the elastic cord on the left front body side of the upper front collar with the locking part 38A provided on the elastic cord on the outside of the upper front collar. In this case, the string 37B on the right side of the back body is positioned about 4 cm higher than the string 37A on the lower front collar side, and is wrapped so as to be naturally pulled from the lower edge 28 of the lower front body 20 to the lower edge 27 of the lower front front panel 32. Furthermore, a locking part 38B is provided on the elastic string on the left front body side of the upper front collar, positioned about 1 cm higher than the elastic string on the outside of the upper front collar, so that when the elastic string is wrapped around the body, it is formed to be almost horizontal. In addition, by passing the elastic string 38 on the upper front collar side through the string threader 39A, wrapping it once from the left side of the back body towards the left front body, and then passing the elastic string 38 through the string threader 39B, it is possible to prevent sagging at the sides when worn and maintain a beautiful appearance.
[0026] Next, we will explain how to put on the bottom garment 2. Put on the bottom garment 2 as if you were putting on a wrap skirt, aligning the center back 9 of the bottom garment 2 with the center of your back. Then, align the right front panel 16, the lower front panel 18, the left front panel 13, and the upper front panel 11 in that order and fasten the hook-and-loop fasteners 8B and 8D, and hook-and-loop fasteners 8A and 8C (see Figures 7(d) and 7(e)).
[0027] Next, the method of wearing the pre-tied obi 40 of the present invention will be explained with reference to Figures 6 and 8. Disengage the fastener 52, which is made of hook-and-loop fastener, located on the back portion 46 of the pre-tied obi 40, from the fastener 53 located on the end portion 51, and unfold the back portion 46 and the drum portion 41. Next, fasteners 58A and 58B, which are made of buttons, located on the left and right sides of the pre-tied obiage 54, are secured by engaging the fasteners 59A and 59B, which are made of buttons, located on the back portion 46 of the pre-tied obi 40. Then, place the body wrap portion 42 on top of the hand portion 45, align the triangular marks △50a and △50b located on the back of the body wrap portion 42 and the end portion 51, and tilt the end portion 51 180 degrees towards the back portion 46. Finally, by engaging the fasteners 52 and 53, it takes the same shape as a drum knot. In addition, pass the obi sash 62 through the ring-shaped guide member 67 located between the hand portion 45 and the drum portion 41.
[0028] When putting the pre-tied obi 40, which is constructed as described above, onto the wearer, first place the obi 40 on the back with the back portion 46 facing upwards and the taiko portion 41 facing outwards from the wearer. Then, wrap the attachment band 43 around the wearer's waist over the kimono, and secure the pre-tied obi 40 to the wearer's waist by fastening the hook-and-loop fastener 43A of the attachment band 43 to the napped fabric of the attachment band 43, and wrap the attachment band 61 of the obi pillow 60 around the waist to secure it. Furthermore, secure the right side 55 of the pre-tied obiage 54 by hooking it onto the attachment band 61 of the obi pillow 60, and bring the left side 56 close to the right side of the waist and insert it into the attachment band 43 on the right side of the waist so as to hide the attachment band 61 of the obi pillow 60. Finally, position the ring-shaped cloth 57 made of the same fabric in the center relative to the wearer.
[0029] Next, the wearer wraps the waist wrap portion 42 over the attachment band 43, secures it by engaging the locking portion 44A and the engaging portion 44B in front of the wearer, and rotates the waist wrap portion 42 clockwise around the wearer so that the locking portion 44A and the engaging portion 44B are hidden between the hand portion 45 and the hanging portion 51. At this time, instead of wrapping it around the waist twice as with a normal belt, the waist wrap portion 42 is wrapped only once around the waist for easy tying. A waist belt 49, which has a belt plate sewn inside and is made of a slippery material to make it easy to rotate the waist wrap portion 42, is sewn into the inside of the waist wrap portion 42, so that it is thick enough even with just one wrap, and it is also designed to prevent wrinkles.
[0030] Next, the locking portion 44A and engaging portion 44B are hidden inside the drum portion 41, between the hand portion 45 and the hanging portion 51, so that they are not visible when worn. Then, the locking portion 64 and engaging portion 63 of the obi sash 62 are locked into the ring-shaped guide member 67 provided between the hand portion 45 and the drum portion 41, and the length of the obi sash 62 is adjusted with the adjustment portion 65. After that, the obi sash is rotated clockwise relative to the wearer so that the engaging portion 64 and engaging portion 63 are hidden between the hand portion 45 and the drum portion 41, and the decorative knot 66 is positioned in the center relative to the wearer, making it extremely easy to put on.
[0031] Although embodiments of the present invention have been described above, the present invention is not limited to these embodiments and can be modified in various ways. For example, the position and depth of seams and darts can be appropriately changed according to the wearer's size and preference. Furthermore, the simplified kimono of the present invention can be used for both unlined and lined kimonos. The obi can also be appropriately changed according to the wearer's size and preference, such as the position of the fasteners, the size of the obi knot, and the length of the waist wrap. Although a single obi knot is shown in the figure, a double obi knot can also be used. [Explanation of symbols] 1.
