Abstract

To provide a battery module that improves the laser absorption efficiency of the current collector and stabilizes the welding performance. [Solution] The battery module comprises an outer casing that houses a stack of energy storage modules, the outer casing comprising a current collector that conducts current from the stack of energy storage modules and a laminate seal portion, the current collector and the laminate seal portion being joined by a sealing material, and the surface treatment applied to the area on the side of the current collector opposite to the side where the sealing material is located, such that the absorption efficiency of light with wavelengths of 900 to 1700 nm is higher than in other parts.
