Provided is a method for preparing methylenedicarboxylate that exhibits high conversion rate, high yield, and high purity for all starting materials. 【Solution means】Regarding a method for preparing a compound having the formula (I): R 1 -C(=O)-O-CH2-O-C(=O)-R 2 wherein, R 1 and R 2 each independently represents an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, or an aryl group, and the alkyl group, cycloalkyl group, or aryl group may be substituted, and the method comprises Compound A selected from the group consisting of trioxane and polyoxymethylene having no hydroxyl end group; A compound of formula (II): R 1 -C(=O)-O-C(=O)-R 2 (II); and Perfluorosulfonic acid; including step i) of reacting them, wherein step i) is carried out at a temperature T1 of at least 50 °C, and the molar ratio of the compound of formula (II) to Compound A is in the range of 1:1 to 1.2:1.
