Abstract
This invention provides a retaining wall and a method for constructing a retaining wall that can better resist earth pressure by forming a retaining wall or retaining beam on the back side of the wall member (the side on which earth pressure acts). [Solution] The retaining wall 1 according to the present invention comprises a plurality of support piles 7 having a columnar portion 7a formed in the ground and a first H-shaped steel 6 whose lower part is positioned inside the columnar portion and whose upper part is exposed from the columnar portion, a wall member 2 of SRC structure provided on the support piles 7, a first bracing beam 3 of SRC structure extending rearward from the surface of the wall member 2 that receives earth pressure relative to the wall member, a second bracing beam 4 of SRC structure extending parallel to the wall member and connecting the first bracing beam, and a bracing column 5 of SRC structure extending vertically and intersecting at the position where the first bracing beam and the second bracing beam intersect, wherein the wall member 2 is supported by the first bracing beam 3, the second bracing beam 4 and the bracing column 5.
