[0004] There are cases where it is desirable to change the sign displayed on a sign display device depending on the direction of travel of a pedestrian. This is because the action a pedestrian is about to take varies depending on the direction of travel of the pedestrian. For example, a pedestrian entering a commercial facility (e.g., a store) is about to begin an activity there, while a pedestrian leaving the facility is about to finish an activity there. Therefore, it is desirable to display a greeting message welcoming pedestrians entering the facility and a greeting message thanking pedestrians leaving the facility for visiting. Therefore, the present invention provides a sign display device or the like whose visible sign changes depending on the viewing direction. [Means for solving the problem]

[0013] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described. These embodiments are intended to facilitate understanding of the present invention. Furthermore, unless otherwise specified, the drawings are schematic diagrams drawn to facilitate understanding of the present invention.
[0014] This invention provides a sign display device that changes its appearance depending on the viewing direction. In this embodiment, the sign display device refers to a sheet-like medium that displays a sign. Examples of items to which the sign display device can be applied include floor mats that are placed on the floor and stickers that are attached to the floor.
[0015] Fig. 1 is a diagram illustrating a sign display member 1 according to this embodiment. Fig. 2 is a diagram illustrating a transparent hologram sheet 10 according to this embodiment.
[0016] As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the sign display 1 of this embodiment is configured by laminating, in this order, transparent hologram sheet 10 on which are formed transparent holograms used to display a sign: first transparent hologram 100, which reproduces a reproduced image at a first reproduction angle θ1 with respect to the normal direction, and second transparent hologram 101, which reproduces a reproduced image at a second reproduction angle θ2 that is oriented opposite to the first reproduction angle θ1 with respect to the normal direction; and base sheet 12 on which is printed a pattern that serves as the background of transparent hologram sheet 10.When light is irradiated from a direction approximately normal to sign display 1, first sign image 13 that can be seen from the direction of first reproduction angle θ1 and second sign image 14 that can be seen from the direction of second reproduction angle θ2.
[0017] In this invention, a sign image refers to an image that represents the content of the sign displayed on the sign display unit 1. The sign image displayed on the sign display unit can be a greeting (e.g., "Welcome"), an advertisement (e.g., a store name), letters or symbols for guidance (e.g., a destination and an arrow indicating the direction to the destination), or a symbol (e.g., a pictogram) for conveying a specific meaning or message.
[0018] Furthermore, in the present invention, the expression that A and B are laminated in this order simply indicates the order of A and B. This expression includes a configuration in which A and B are in direct contact with each other, as well as a configuration in which another layer is interposed between A and B. In FIG. 1, a transparent adhesive layer 11 is laminated between a transparent hologram sheet 10 and a base sheet 12. Note that while FIG. 1 shows the shape of the sign display body 1 as a rectangle, the shape of the sign display body 1 may be any shape. Considering that two sign images will be displayed, a shape with line symmetry, such as a rounded rectangle, a circle, or an ellipse, is suitable for the shape of the sign display body 1.
[0019] FIG. 2(a) shows a transparent hologram sheet 10 according to the present embodiment. As shown in FIG. 2(a), the transparent hologram sheet 10 according to the present embodiment is composed of a first transparent hologram sheet 102, which is formed by laminating a first hologram layer 105, in which a first transparent hologram 100 is formed, on a transparent base layer 104 (104a) made of a transparent resin, and a second transparent hologram sheet 103, which is formed by laminating a second hologram layer 106, in which a second transparent hologram 101 is formed, on a transparent base layer 104 (104b). While FIG. 2 shows a structure in which the transparent base layer 104 and a hologram layer (e.g., the first hologram layer 105) are laminated in this order, a structure in which a hologram layer (e.g., the first hologram layer 105) and the transparent base layer 104 are laminated in this order may also be used. Furthermore, other layers not shown in FIG. 2(a), such as a transparent layer for protecting the hologram layer, may be laminated on the first transparent hologram sheet 102 and the second transparent hologram sheet 103. The transparent hologram sheet 10 according to this embodiment can be easily manufactured by manufacturing the first transparent hologram sheet 102 and the second transparent hologram sheet 103 with the same playback angle, etc., and arranging the first transparent hologram sheet 102 and the second transparent hologram sheet 103 so that they face in opposite directions.
[0020] The transparent base layer 104 of the transparent hologram sheet 10 is a layer that serves as the base of the transparent hologram. The transparent base layer 104 can be made of a transparent resin such as polyethylene terephthalate, polycarbonate, or polyolefin.
[0021] A transparent hologram is a hologram that is light-transmitting. In this embodiment, a Lippmann hologram is used as the transparent hologram. A Lippmann hologram is formed by recording interference fringes generated by the interference of object light and reference light on a photosensitive material. When light is irradiated at the same incident angle as the reference light, the reconstructed image recorded on the transparent hologram can be viewed from the same reconstruction angle as the incident angle of the object light. In this embodiment, to improve the visibility of the reconstructed image, the transparent hologram is formed using a wavelength within the green wavelength range, and the reconstructed image is green in color. Holograms other than Lippmann holograms can be used as long as they are light-transmitting. For example, embossed holograms, computer-generated holograms, or Fourier transform holograms are examples of such holograms.
[0022] The transparent hologram sheet 10 has a first transparent hologram 100 and a second transparent hologram 101 so that the visible sign changes depending on the viewing direction. The first transparent hologram 100 is a transparent hologram that reproduces a reproduced image at a first reproduction angle θ1 with respect to the normal direction, and the second transparent hologram 101 is a transparent hologram that reproduces a reproduced image at a second reproduction angle θ2 with respect to the normal direction. The size of the first transparent hologram 100 is determined by the size of the first sign image 13, and the size of the second transparent hologram 101 is determined by the size of the second sign image 14.
[0023] As shown in FIG. 2(a), the playback angle of a transparent hologram is the angle with respect to the normal direction of the transparent hologram. In FIG. 2, an upward arrow indicates the normal direction. In FIG. 2(a), the second playback angle θ2 is the angle with respect to the normal direction opposite to the first playback angle θ1. Specifically, in FIG. 2, the first playback angle θ1 of the first transparent hologram 100 is a counterclockwise angle with respect to the normal direction, while the second playback angle θ2 of the second transparent hologram 101 is a clockwise angle with respect to the normal direction. In this embodiment, the orientation of the second playback angle θ2 with respect to the normal direction is opposite to the orientation of the first playback angle θ1 with respect to the normal direction. This is because, when the sign display device 1 is installed in a passage (corridor), pedestrians approach the sign display device 1 from two opposing directions (e.g., right and left). The first playback angle θ1 and the second playback angle θ2 may have different magnitudes, but in FIG. 2, the first playback angle θ1 and the second playback angle θ2 have the same magnitude.
[0024] When light is irradiated from a substantially normal direction onto the transparent hologram sheet 10 configured as above, the reconstructed image recorded in the first transparent hologram 100 is visible from the direction of the first reconstruction angle θ1, and the reconstructed image recorded in the second transparent hologram 101 is visible from the direction of the second reconstruction angle θ2. Therefore, if the sign display device 1 is configured so that the reconstructed image recorded in the first transparent hologram 100 is used to display the first sign image 13 and the reconstructed image recorded in the second transparent hologram 101 is used to display the second sign image 14, the visible sign image can be changed depending on the viewing direction.
[0025] Fig. 2(b) shows a transparent hologram sheet 10a according to Modification 1. As shown in Fig. 2(b), transparent hologram sheet 10a according to Modification 1 is composed of first transparent hologram sheet 102a according to Modification 1, in which transparent substrate layer 107a conforming to the shape of first transparent hologram 100 is laminated with first transparent hologram 100, and second transparent hologram sheet 103a according to Modification 1, in which transparent substrate layer 107b conforming to the shape of second transparent hologram 101 is laminated with second transparent hologram 101. When a transparent hologram on which a solid image is recorded is cut to resemble a sign image and used, transparent hologram sheet 10a according to Modification 1 has the structure.
[0026] Fig. 2(c) shows a transparent hologram sheet 10b according to Modification 2. As shown in Fig. 2(c), transparent hologram sheet 10b according to Modification 2 has a structure in which a transparent substrate layer 108 made of a transparent resin and a hologram layer 109 in which first transparent hologram 100 and second transparent hologram 101 are formed are laminated. When first transparent hologram 100 and second transparent hologram 101 are formed in one hologram layer 109, the structure of transparent hologram sheet 10b according to Modification 2 is obtained.
[0027] This invention discloses two configurations of the sign display device 1 that displays a sign image using a transparent hologram sheet 10. The first configuration is a configuration in which the sign image itself is reproduced on the transparent hologram sheet 10. The second configuration is a configuration in which a solid image, rather than a sign image, is reproduced on the transparent hologram sheet 10, and the portion of the solid image that is not used as the sign image is masked to display the sign image. Details of these configurations will be described later.
[0028] The base sheet 12 is a sheet that supports the transparent hologram sheet 10. Any material may be used for the base sheet 12, but for example, polyolefin may be used for the base sheet 12. The base sheet 12 is provided with a base print layer 120 that displays a pattern that forms the background of the transparent hologram sheet 10. The base print layer 120 of the base sheet 12 is a layer that can be seen through the transparent hologram sheet 10.
[0029] The transparent adhesive layer 11 is a layer that bonds the transparent hologram sheet 10 and the base sheet 12. An adhesive or pressure-sensitive adhesive with high visible light transmittance is used for the transparent adhesive layer 11. For example, an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive can be used for the transparent adhesive layer 11.
[0030] Next, the sign display member 2 according to the first embodiment will be described. Fig. 3 is a diagram showing the structure of the sign display member 2 according to the first embodiment. Fig. 4 is a diagram explaining how the sign display member 2 according to the first embodiment appears. In the sign display member 2 according to the first embodiment, the sign image itself is reproduced on the transparent hologram sheet according to the first embodiment.
[0031] Fig. 3(a) shows the structure of the sign display member 2 according to the first embodiment. Fig. 3(b) shows a reconstructed image reconstructed by the transparent hologram sheet 20 according to the first embodiment. In Fig. 3, the same elements as in Fig. 2 are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0032] As shown in Figure 3(a), the structure of the sign display member 2 according to the first embodiment is the same as that shown in Figure 2(a). The structure of the sign display member 2 according to the first embodiment may also be as shown in Figure 2(b) or 2(c). The sign display member 2 according to the first embodiment has a structure in which the transparent hologram sheet 20 according to the first embodiment, which is composed of the first transparent hologram sheet 202 according to the first embodiment having only the first transparent hologram 200 according to the first embodiment and the second transparent hologram sheet 203 according to the first embodiment having only the second transparent hologram 201 according to the first embodiment, and a base sheet 12 are laminated in this order, and the transparent hologram sheet 20 according to the first embodiment and the base sheet 12 are bonded together with a transparent adhesive layer 11.
[0033] In FIG. 3(b), the left side shows a reconstructed image of the first transparent hologram 200 according to the first embodiment. The right side shows a reconstructed image of the second transparent hologram 201 according to the first embodiment. As shown in FIG. 3(b), the reconstructed image of the first transparent hologram 200 according to the first embodiment formed on the first transparent hologram sheet 202 according to the first embodiment is the first sign image 13 itself, which can only be seen from the direction of the first reconstruction angle θ1. Meanwhile, the reconstructed image of the second transparent hologram 201 according to the first embodiment formed on the second transparent hologram sheet 203 according to the first embodiment is the second sign image 14 itself, which can only be seen from the direction of the second reconstruction angle θ2. As shown in FIG. 2, the second reconstruction angle θ2 is an angle opposite to the first reconstruction angle θ1 with respect to the normal direction. Therefore, in Figure 3(b), the top side of the first signature image 13 reproduced by the first transparent hologram 200 of the first form faces the direction of the second signature image 14 reproduced by the second transparent hologram 201 of the first form, and the top side of the second signature image 14 reproduced by the second transparent hologram 201 of the first form faces the direction of the first signature image 13 reproduced by the first transparent hologram 200 of the first form.
[0034] There are two methods for converting the reconstructed image of the first transparent hologram 200 according to the first embodiment into the first signature image 13. The first method involves recording the first signature image 13 itself on the first transparent hologram 200 according to the first embodiment. The second method involves cutting a transparent hologram with a solid image recorded onto it, forming the first signature image 13, and using this as the first transparent hologram 200 according to the first embodiment. Either method may be used in this embodiment. In the first method, the first transparent hologram sheet 202 according to the first embodiment is a single sheet. In the second method, the first transparent hologram sheet 202 according to the first embodiment is composed of multiple sheets (e.g., a sheet for each character in "Welcome"). The method for converting the reconstructed image of the second transparent hologram 201 according to the first embodiment into the second signature image 14 is the same as the method for converting the reconstructed image of the first transparent hologram 200 according to the first embodiment into the first signature image 13.
[0035] In the sign display member 2 according to the first embodiment, the base print layer 120 of the base sheet 12 becomes the design of the sign display member 2 according to the first embodiment. Therefore, in the sign display member 2 according to the first embodiment, the base print layer 120 of the base sheet 12 is provided on almost the entire surface of the base sheet 12. The design displayed on the base print layer 120 laminated on the base sheet 12 may be arbitrary, but it is desirable to determine the color and design of the base print layer 120 laminated on the base sheet 12 according to the first embodiment in consideration of making the first sign image 13 and the second sign image 14 reproduced using the transparent hologram sheet 20 according to the first embodiment stand out.
[0036] FIG. 4(a) is a view from the direction of the first reproduction angle θ1, and FIG. 4(b) is a view from the direction of the second reproduction angle θ2. As described above, in the sign display member 2 according to the first embodiment, the base print layer 120 of the base sheet 12 forms the design of the sign display member 2 according to the first embodiment. As shown in FIG. 4(a), when the sign display member 2 according to the first embodiment is viewed from the direction of the first reproduction angle θ1, the first signature image 13, which is the reproduced image of the first transparent hologram 200 according to the first embodiment, is visible, but the second signature image 14, which is the reproduced image of the second transparent hologram 201 according to the first embodiment, is transparent and invisible. As shown in FIG. 4(b), when the sign display member 2 according to the first embodiment is viewed from the direction of the second reproduction angle θ2, the second signature image 14, which is the reproduced image of the second transparent hologram 201 according to the first embodiment, is visible, but the first signature image 13, which is the reproduced image of the first transparent hologram 200 according to the first embodiment, is transparent and invisible.
[0037] Next, the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment will be described. Fig. 5 is a diagram showing the structure of the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment. Fig. 6 is a diagram explaining the mask sheet 34. Fig. 7 is a diagram explaining how the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment appears. In the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment, a solid image, rather than a sign image, is reproduced on the transparent hologram sheet 30 according to the second embodiment, and the portion of the solid image that is not used as the sign image is masked to display the sign image.
[0038] Fig. 5(a) shows the structure of the sign display 3 according to the second embodiment. Fig. 5(b) shows a reproduced image recorded on the transparent hologram sheet 30 according to the second embodiment. In Fig. 5, the same elements as in Fig. 2 are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0039] As shown in FIG. 5(a), the structure of the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment is the same as that shown in FIG. 2(a). The structure of the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment may also be that shown in FIG. 2(b) or 2(c). As shown in FIG. 5(a), the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment has a structure in which a mask sheet 34 having a non-masked portion formed in accordance with the shape of the sign image, a transparent hologram sheet 30 according to the second embodiment, which is composed of a first transparent hologram sheet 302 according to the second embodiment having only a first transparent hologram 300 according to the second embodiment and a second transparent hologram sheet 303 according to the second embodiment having only a second transparent hologram 301 according to the second embodiment, and a base sheet 12 are laminated in this order. In the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment, the mask sheet 34 and the transparent hologram sheet 30 according to the second embodiment are bonded together by a mask adhesive layer 35 using an acrylic transparent adhesive or the like, and the transparent hologram sheet 30 according to the second embodiment is further bonded to the base sheet 12 by a transparent adhesive layer 11.
[0040] In the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment, the reproduced image of the first transparent hologram 300 according to the second embodiment and the reproduced image of the second transparent hologram 301 according to the second embodiment are both solid images. As shown in FIG. 5(b), a first solid image 304 at a first reproduction angle θ1 is recorded in the first transparent hologram 300 according to the second embodiment. A second solid image 305 at a second reproduction angle θ2 is recorded in the second transparent hologram 301 according to the second embodiment. In FIG. 5(b), the left side shows the first solid image 304 recorded in the first transparent hologram 300 according to the second embodiment. The right side shows the second solid image 305 recorded in the second transparent hologram 301 according to the second embodiment. The size of the first transparent hologram 300 according to the second embodiment is set to match the size of the first sign image 13, which is visible only from the direction of the first reproduction angle θ1. The size of the second transparent hologram 301 according to the second embodiment is set to match the size of the second sign image 14 that can only be seen from the direction of the second reproduction angle θ2.
[0041] FIG. 6(a) shows the appearance of the mask sheet 34. FIG. 6(b) shows the positional relationship between the mask sheet 34 and the transparent hologram sheet 30 according to the second embodiment. The mask sheet 34 is a sheet on which non-masked portions are formed to match the shape of the sign image to be displayed on the sign display device 3 according to the second embodiment. As shown in FIG. 6(a), the mask sheet 34 is formed with a first non-masked portion 341 that matches the shape of the first sign image 13 to be displayed using the first transparent hologram 300 according to the second embodiment, and a second non-masked portion 342 that matches the shape of the second sign image 14 to be displayed using the second transparent hologram 301 according to the second embodiment. When an opaque sheet is used for the mask sheet 34, the first non-masked portion 341 and the second non-masked portion 342 formed on the mask sheet 34 are cutouts. When a transparent sheet is used as the mask sheet 34, the first unmasked portion 341 and the second unmasked portion 342 formed on the mask sheet 34 may be cutouts or may be areas where the mask printing layer 340 is not formed.
[0042] 6(b), the mask sheet 34 and the transparent hologram sheet 30 according to the second embodiment are approximately the same size. The mask sheet 34 is laminated on the transparent hologram sheet 30 according to the second embodiment so that the first unmasked portions 341 formed on the mask sheet 34 overlap the upper side of the first transparent hologram 300 according to the second embodiment, and the second unmasked portions 342 formed on the mask sheet 34 overlap the upper side of the second transparent hologram 301 according to the second embodiment. By using such a mask sheet 34, in the transparent hologram sheet 30 according to the second embodiment, the portions of the first transparent hologram 300 according to the second embodiment that overlap the first unmasked portions 341 and the portions of the second transparent hologram 301 according to the second embodiment that overlap the second unmasked portions 342 become areas that are not masked by the mask sheet 34, and the remaining areas become areas that are masked by the mask sheet 34.
[0043] The same material as the base sheet 12 can be used for the mask sheet 34, and a mask printing layer 340 is also laminated on the mask sheet 34. In the sign display member 3 of the second embodiment, the printing layer of the mask sheet 34 becomes the pattern of the sign display member 3 of the second embodiment. Therefore, in the sign display member 3 of the second embodiment, the mask printing layer 340 of the mask sheet 34 is provided on almost the entire surface of the mask sheet 34. The pattern displayed on the mask printing layer 340 laminated on the mask sheet 34 may be any pattern, but it is desirable to decide the color and design of the mask printing layer 340 laminated on the mask sheet 34 in consideration of making the sign image reproduced using the transparent hologram sheet 30 of the second embodiment stand out.
[0044] In the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment, the base printing layer 120 of the base sheet 12 also serves as the background for the transparent hologram sheet 30 according to the second embodiment. If the design displayed on the base printing layer 120 of the base sheet 12 differs from the design displayed on the mask printing layer 340 of the mask sheet 34, the base printing layer 120 of the base sheet 12 visible through the unmasked portion of the mask sheet 34 will appear as a sign image when the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment is viewed from a direction significantly different from the playback angle. Taking this into consideration, it is desirable that the design on the mask sheet 34 and the design on the base sheet 12 visible through the mask sheet 34 are the same. In this case, the base printing layer 120 of the base sheet 12 may be the entire surface or only the portion visible through the mask sheet 34. Furthermore, considering the color tone of the design, it is desirable that the material of the mask sheet 34 and the material of the base sheet 12 are the same, and it is desirable that the printing method for the mask printing layer 340 of the mask sheet 34 and the printing method for the base printing layer 120 of the base sheet 12 are the same.
[0045] 7(a) is a view seen from the direction of the first playback angle θ1, and FIG. 7(b) is a view seen from the direction of the second playback angle θ2. As described above, in the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment, the printed layer of the mask sheet 34 becomes the pattern of the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment.
[0046] The portion of the first solid image 304 overlapping the first unmasked portion 341 of the mask sheet 34 is not masked by the mask sheet 34. Therefore, when the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment is viewed from the direction of the first playback angle θ1, the portion of the first solid image 304 overlapping the first unmasked portion 341 of the mask sheet 34 is visible. Because the shape of the first unmasked portion 341 follows the shape of the first sign image 13, as shown in FIG. 7( a), when the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment is viewed from the direction of the first playback angle θ1, the portion of the first solid image 304 overlapping the first unmasked portion 341 of the mask sheet 34 appears as the first sign image 13. When the sign display member 3 according to the second embodiment is viewed from the direction of the first playback angle θ1, the portion of the second solid image 305 overlapping the second unmasked portion 342 of the mask sheet 34 is transparent, and the base printing layer 120 of the base sheet 12 is visible in this portion.
[0047] The portion of the second transparent hologram 301 according to the second embodiment that overlaps the second unmasked portion 342 of the mask sheet 34 is not masked by the mask sheet 34. Therefore, when the sign display device 3 according to the second embodiment is viewed from the direction of the second reproduction angle θ2, the portion of the second solid image 305 that overlaps the second unmasked portion 342 of the mask sheet 34 is visible. Because the shape of the second unmasked portion 342 follows the shape of the second sign image 14, as shown in FIG. 7( a), when the sign display device 3 according to the second embodiment is viewed from the direction of the second reproduction angle θ2, the portion of the second solid image 305 that overlaps the second unmasked portion 342 of the mask sheet 34 appears as the second sign image 14. When the sign display device 3 according to the second embodiment is viewed from the direction of the second reproduction angle θ2, the portion of the first solid image 304 that overlaps the first unmasked portion 341 of the mask sheet 34 is transparent, and the base printing layer 120 of the base sheet 12 is visible in this portion.
[0048] The sign display member 1 according to the present embodiment described above can be applied to various objects that display sign images. In this embodiment, a floor mat 4 using the sign display member 1 according to the present embodiment, and a floor sticker 5 and a wall sticker 6 using the sign display member 1 according to the present invention are disclosed.
[0049] First, a floor mat 4 to which the sign display member 1 according to this embodiment is applied will be described. Fig. 8 is a diagram illustrating the floor mat 4 according to this embodiment. Fig. 8(a) shows an example of use of the floor mat 4 according to this embodiment, and Fig. 8(b) shows the structure of the floor mat 4 according to this embodiment.
[0050] As shown in FIG. 8(a), the floor mat 4 is a mat laid on the floor of a commercial facility or the like. The light from the light source 7a installed on the floor on which the floor mat 4 is laid is light normal to the floor mat 4. Therefore, as described with reference to FIG. 2(a), the light from the light source 7a can be used to display a sign image on the floor mat 4 to be seen by pedestrians. By applying the sign display device 1 according to this embodiment to the floor mat 4, it is possible to change the sign image displayed to pedestrians approaching from the front side in FIG. 8(a) and the sign image displayed to pedestrians approaching from the rear side. Although the floor mat 4 has a rectangular shape in FIG. 8(a), the shape of the floor mat 4 may be any shape. Considering the placement of the first sign image 13 and the second sign image 14, a line-symmetric shape such as a rounded rectangle, a circle, or an ellipse is suitable for the shape of the floor mat 4.
[0051] As shown in FIG. 8(b), the floor mat 4 has a laminate sheet 40, a sign 1 according to this embodiment, a sign adhesive layer 41, and a rubber sheet 42 laminated in this order. The sign 1 used in the floor mat 4 may be the sign 2 according to the first embodiment or the sign 3 according to the second embodiment. The laminate sheet 40 has a laminate adhesive layer 401 made of a transparent acrylic adhesive or the like laminated on the back surface of a transparent sheet 400 (here, polyvinyl chloride having a thickness of 200 μm). The laminate sheet 40 is transparent so that the sign image displayed on the sign 1 can be seen. Because the floor mat 4 may be stepped on by pedestrians, it is preferable to apply an anti-slip treatment to the surface of the laminate sheet 40. In this embodiment, the surface of the laminate sheet 40 is embossed to provide an anti-slip treatment. Embossing the surface of the laminate sheet 40 not only prevents slipping, but also improves the strength of the floor mat 4 and reduces light reflection from the surface of the laminate sheet 40, making the sign image displayed using the sign display unit 1 easier to see. The rubber sheet 42 can be made of natural rubber, synthetic rubber, or recycled rubber. Considering outdoor use and durability, it is preferable to use natural or synthetic rubber for the rubber sheet 42. The thickness of the rubber sheet 42 is preferably 1.2 mm to 5 mm. The display unit adhesive layer 41 is a layer formed using a pressure-sensitive adhesive or adhesive such as a rubber-based, acrylic-based, or urethane-based adhesive, and serves to bond the sign display unit 1 and the rubber sheet 42. The adhesive or adhesive used for the display unit adhesive layer 41 may be transparent or opaque.
[0052] Next, a floor sticker 5, which is a sticker to which the sign display member 1 according to this embodiment is applied, will be described. Fig. 9 is a diagram illustrating the floor sticker 5 according to this embodiment. Fig. 9(a) shows an example of use of the floor sticker 5 according to this embodiment, and Fig. 9(b) shows the structure of the floor sticker 5 according to this embodiment.
[0053] As shown in FIG. 9(a), the floor sticker 5 is a sticker (seal) that is directly attached to the floor of a commercial facility or the like. The light from the light 7b installed on the floor on which the floor sticker 5 is attached is light normal to the floor sticker 5. Therefore, as explained with reference to FIG. 2(a), the light from the light 7b can be used to display a sign image on the floor sticker 5 for pedestrians. By using the floor sticker 5 incorporating the sign display device 1 according to this embodiment, it is possible to change the sign image displayed to pedestrians approaching from the front side in FIG. 9(a) and the sign image displayed to pedestrians approaching from the rear side. While the floor sticker 5 in FIG. 9(a) is rectangular, the shape of the floor sticker 5 may be arbitrary. Considering the placement of the first sign image 13 and the second sign image 14, a line-symmetric shape such as a rounded rectangle, circle, or ellipse is suitable for the shape of the floor sticker 5.
[0054] As shown in FIG. 9(b), the floor sticker 5 has a laminated structure of a laminate sheet 50, a sign 1 according to this embodiment, and a seal layer 51. The sign 1 used in the floor sticker 5 may be the sign 2 according to the first embodiment or the sign 3 according to the second embodiment. The laminate sheet 50 has a laminated adhesive layer 501, for example, made of an acrylic transparent adhesive, laminated on the back surface of a transparent sheet 500 (here, polyvinyl chloride having a thickness of 200 μm). The laminate sheet 50 is transparent so that the sign image displayed on the sign 1 can be seen. Because the floor sticker 5 may be stepped on by pedestrians, it is preferable to apply an anti-slip treatment to the surface of the laminate sheet 50. In this embodiment, the surface of the laminate sheet 50 is embossed to provide an anti-slip treatment. Embossing the surface of the laminate sheet 50 not only prevents slippage, but also improves the strength of the floor sticker 5 and reduces light reflection from the surface of the laminate sheet 50, making the sign image displayed using the sign display unit 1 easier to see. The seal layer 51 is a layer used to attach the floor sticker 5 to the floor. The seal layer 51 is constructed by laminating a seal adhesive layer 510 and a release paper 511. While a rubber-based or acrylic-based adhesive may be used for the seal adhesive layer 510, it is preferable to use a re-peelable adhesive for the seal adhesive layer 510 so that no trace remains when the floor sticker 5 is peeled off. The release paper 511 is a sheet coated with a release agent. The release paper 511 is a layer that protects the seal adhesive layer 510 and is peeled off when the floor sticker 5 is attached to the floor.
[0055] Finally, a wall sticker 6 that is a sticker to which the sign display member 1 according to this embodiment is applied will be described. Fig. 10 is a diagram illustrating the wall sticker 6 according to this embodiment. Fig. 10(a) shows an example of how the wall sticker 6 according to this embodiment is used, and Fig. 9(b) shows the structure of the wall sticker 6 according to this embodiment.
[0056] As shown in FIG. 10(a), the wall sticker 6 is a sticker that is directly attached to a wall of a commercial facility or the like. The light from the light source 7c installed on the ceiling of the corridor where the wall sticker 6 is attached is not radiated in the normal direction of the wall sticker 6. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 10(a), if a light source 7c that irradiates the wall sticker 6 in the normal direction is installed on the wall opposite the wall where the wall sticker 6 is attached, a sign image that pedestrians can see can be displayed on the wall sticker 6. By using the wall sticker 6 incorporating the sign display device 1 according to this embodiment, it is possible to change the sign image displayed to pedestrians approaching from the rear side in FIG. 10(a) and the sign image displayed to pedestrians approaching from the front side. Although the wall sticker 6 is rectangular in shape in FIG. 10(a), the shape of the wall sticker 6 may be arbitrary. Considering the display of the first sign image 13 and the second sign image 14, a line-symmetric shape such as a rounded rectangle, circle, or ellipse is suitable for the shape of the wall sticker 6.
[0057] As shown in FIG. 10(b), the wall sticker 6 has a laminated structure of a laminate sheet 60, a sign 1 according to this embodiment, and a seal layer 61. The sign 1 used in the wall sticker 6 may be the sign 2 according to the first embodiment or the sign 3 according to the second embodiment. The laminate sheet 60 has a laminated structure in which a laminate adhesive layer 601 using, for example, an acrylic transparent adhesive is laminated on the back surface of a transparent sheet 600 (here, polyvinyl chloride having a thickness of 100 μm). The laminate sheet 60 is made transparent so that the sign image displayed on the sign 1 can be seen. The seal layer 61 is a layer for attaching the wall sticker 6 to a wall or the like. The seal layer 61 has a laminated structure in which a seal adhesive layer 610 and a release paper 611 are laminated. A rubber-based or acrylic-based adhesive may be used for the seal adhesive layer 610, but it is preferable to use a removable adhesive for the seal adhesive layer 610 so that no traces remain when the wall sticker 6 is peeled off. The release paper 611 is a sheet coated with a release agent. The release paper 611 is a layer that protects the seal adhesive layer 610 and is peeled off when the wall sticker 6 is attached to the floor.
[0058] The floor mat 4 described above is merely an example of an application of the sign display member 1 of the present invention. Naturally, the sign display member 1 of the present invention can be applied to various items that display signs. For example, the sign display member 1 of the present invention can also be applied to signs. [Explanation of symbols]
