Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a fabric product made of fabric such as clothing (e.g., shirts) and bags, etc., and provided with snap fasteners made of synthetic resin.

Background Art

[0002] As a conventional snap fastener made of synthetic resin provided on a fabric product, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, there is known one including a female snap button 51 and a male snap button 61 that can be engaged and disengaged with each other (for example, Patent Documents 1 and 2).

[0003] The female snap button 51 has a female engaging member (also called a socket or a spring) 52 and a female holding member (also called a head, an atama, or a rivet) 53 that holds the female engaging member 52. The female engaging member 52 projects a substantially cylindrical engaging female portion 55 from the outer edge of a ring-shaped substrate 54 on one side thereof, and an outward flange 56 is continuously provided on the tip side in the protruding direction. A folded-back portion 57 is provided on the outer edge of the outward flange 56. The holding member 53 is configured by projecting caulking projections 59 from the central portion on one side of a head 58 having a substantially disc shape.

[0004] The female snap button 51 configured as described above is attached to the fabric C1 by inserting the caulking projection 59 inserted through the fabric C1 constituting, for example, clothing or a bag into the central opening 54a of the substrate 54, and applying a blow to the tip side of the caulking projection 59 to cause it to expand and deform, and caulking and fixing the caulking projection 59 to the substrate 54.

[0005] On the other hand, the male snap button 61 has a male engaging member (also called a stud or a genko) 62 and a male holding member (also called a post, a hosho, or a rivet) 63 that holds the male engaging member 62. The male engaging member 62 is configured by concentrically projecting a substantially cylindrical engaging male portion 65 having a smaller diameter than the substrate 64 on one side of a substantially disc-shaped substrate 64. The holding member 63 is configured by projecting caulking projections 67 from the central portion on one side of a head 66 having a substantially disc shape.

[0006] The male snap button 61 configured in this way is attached to the fabric C2 by, for example, inserting the caulking projection 67 passed through the fabric C2 constituting clothing, a bag, or the like into the central opening 64a provided at the center of the substrate 64, and then applying a blow to the tip side of the caulking projection 67 to cause it to expand in diameter and be caulked and fixed to the substrate 64. Note that the central opening 64a has a smaller diameter than the engaging male portion 65.

[0007] Then, by inserting the engaging male portion 65 of the male snap button 61 attached to the fabric C2 into the engaging female portion 55 of the female snap button 51 attached to the fabric C1, the engaging female portion 65 detachably engages with the engaging male portion 55. Note that there are various structures for this engagement. For example, at a portion where the inner peripheral surface of the engaging female portion 55 has a smaller diameter toward the open end (outward flange 56) side, a portion where the outer peripheral surface of the engaging male portion 65 has a larger diameter toward the tip side (away from the substrate 64) engages, or an inwardly bulging portion provided on the inner peripheral surface of the engaging female portion 55 engages with an outwardly bulging portion provided on the outer peripheral surface of the engaging male portion 65.

Embodiment for Carrying Out the Invention

[0019] Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.

[0020] The fabric product according to the present embodiment has a snap fastener. As shown in FIGS. 1(A) and (B), snap fasteners F made of synthetic resin are formed on the fabric C (C1, C2) that constitutes the fabric product (the fabric at the location where the snap fastener is to be provided in the fabric product). The male and female fastener bodies 1 (female fastener body 1A, male fastener body 1B) that make up the snap fastener are joined by welding or adhesion.

[0021] Examples of the fabric product include clothing, bags, etc. More specifically, as an example of clothing, a shirt (such as a dress shirt) having a snap fastener at the front opening part can be mentioned.

[0022] As shown in FIGS. 1(A) and (B), the male and female fastener bodies 1A and 1B are detachable from each other at the fitting portions 2 (female fitting portion 2A, male fitting portion 2B) facing each other on one side, and each has a head 3 facing the other side.

[0023] That is, the female fastener body 1A has a female fitting portion 2A that is substantially cylindrical and has a smaller inner diameter toward one end side, and a head 3 that is substantially disc-shaped and has an outer diameter that is slightly larger than that of the other end side of the female fitting portion 2A. The peripheral edge portion of the head 3 exhibits a flange shape that extends outward from the female fitting portion 2A.

[0024] On the other hand, the male fastener body 1B has a male fitting portion 2B that is substantially cylindrical and has a larger outer diameter toward one end side, and a head 3 that is substantially disc-shaped and has an outer diameter that is slightly larger than that of the other end side of the male fitting portion 2B. The peripheral edge portion of the head 3 exhibits a flange shape that extends outward from the male fitting portion 2B.

[0025] The male and female fastener bodies 1A and 1B are each a single component formed using a synthetic resin. When the male fitting portion 2B is inserted inside the female fitting portion 2A, the two, 2A and 2B, are configured to be fitted and connected.

[0026] Also, the outer surfaces (the surfaces on the side opposite to the fitting portion 2) of the heads 3 of the male and female fastener bodies 1 are joined to the fabric C by welding or adhesion. Depending on this joining method, materials such as the fastener body 1 including the head 3 and the fabric C can be appropriately selected.

[0027] For example, when adopting ultrasonic welding or thermal welding as the joining method, it is preferable to use a thermoplastic resin (such as polyester, polyacetal, PET (polyethylene terephthalate), polypropylene, etc.) for at least one, preferably both, of the materials of the fabric C or the fastener body 1. By making the materials of the fabric C and the fastener body 1 the same, it becomes easy to increase the welding force of the fastener body 1 to the fabric C, and thus improve the durability of the fabric product, etc. In addition, joining methods such as spin welding, laser welding, and vibration welding may also be adopted.

[0028] Also, adhesion using an adhesive may be performed without relying on welding. In this case, an adhesive with excellent adhesiveness between the fastener body 1 and the fabric C may be selected.

[0029] In the present example described as above, since the snap fastener F made of synthetic resin is joined to the fabric C by welding or adhesion, a caulking member for fixing the snap fastener F to the fabric C can be eliminated, and the configuration can be simplified.

[0030] In the present example where the head 3 is joined to the fabric C, the joining of the fastener body 1 to the fabric C can be easily performed, and this joining can also be made less likely to have an adverse effect on the fitting portion 2.

[0031] Note that the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and it goes without saying that various modifications can be made without departing from the gist of the present invention. For example, the following modification examples can be cited.

[0032] In the examples shown in FIGS. 1(A) and (B), since the peripheral edge portion of the head 3 is an outward flange, the area of the outer surface of the head 3 is ensured, which is particularly suitable for joining the head 3 to the fabric C by adhesion. However, for example, the shape of the head 3 may be changed as shown in FIGS. 2(A) and (B).

[0033] That is, in the examples of FIGS. 2(A) and (B), the peripheral edge portion of the head 3 is not an outward flange, and the fitting portion 2 extends from the outer periphery of the head 3 toward one surface side. In this case, the outer peripheral surface of the head 3 of the male fastener body 1B can be used as a part of the male fitting portion 2B. As a result, even if the male fitting portion 2B is made shorter than in the case of FIG. 1(B), the fitting connection function of the fitting portion 2 can be maintained, and it is also possible to shorten the male fitting portion 2B and shorten the distance between the fabrics C1 and C2.

[0034] Also, when the head 3 is joined to the fabric C by ultrasonic welding, as shown in FIG. 2(A), energy directors (for example, a plurality of conical ribs arranged on the same circumference) 4 may be provided on the outer surface (butt joint) of the head 3. Note that the configuration such as the dimensions, shape, and arrangement of the energy directors can be variously changed.

[0035] Needless to say, the above-described modified examples may be appropriately combined with each other.
