Abstract

To provide a down shot sinker which can reduce baggage by combining the functions of three types of sinkers, a down shot sinker with a hook, a down shot sinker with a leader stopper, and a lure weight adjustment sinker, into one sinker for lure fishing. [Solution] The downshot sinker of this invention has a tight spiral shape made of wire at the top of the sinker, with one end fixed to the sinker and the other end protruding slightly from the circumference of the spiral to make it easier to hook the line. Because the spiral part is circular, it can be used as a sinker with a loop, and by passing the line through the loop two or more times and hooking it onto the protruding wire and pulling it together with the main line, it can be used as a leader stopper.

Description

Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0001] In recent years, the use of sinkers (fishing weights) in lure fishing has become more diverse. Different sinkers are used depending on the fishing tackle. In the case of downshot sinkers (weights with a line or other material tied to the top), there are sinkers with a line stopper attached to the top (Figure 2), sinkers with a loop that can be used to tie the line directly or thread the line through (Figure 1), and sinkers with a mechanism that hangs from the eye of a lure (Figure 3). It would be difficult to carry around a large number of these three types according to their weight, so I wanted to combine the functions of the three types of sinkers into one and reduce the amount of luggage I needed. With previous leader stoppers, the mechanism was such that the thread was clamped into the crimped gap of the metal, which could cause thin threads to break, but with this spring mechanism, the thread that is clamped and held in place is tightened with the same thread (see Figure 5), so even thin threads are gentle and less likely to break.
