Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of secondary batteries, and in particular to a secondary battery and a method for assembling the secondary battery. [Background technology]

[0002] At present, a secondary battery generally includes a top cover, a case, a battery core, and a transfer sheet, and the internal assembly structure of the battery generally includes two kinds. In the first type of assembly structure, one or more tabs are installed under the transfer sheet and welded to the transfer sheet for connection, and the transfer sheet for connecting the tabs of the battery core is further welded to the pole of the top cover for connection. In the second type of assembly structure, one or more tabs are installed under the pole and welded to the pole of the top cover for direct connection, and after the tabs and poles are connected, the tabs are bent and the battery core is loaded into the case to complete the assembly of the secondary battery structure. In the above two types of assembly structures, the electric core and its tab are generally kept horizontal first, and the electric core and its top tab and the connection sheet or top cover are always kept horizontal during assembly and connection, and when the electric core enters the case, the tab is first bent and then connected to the electric core. Among them, the step of bending the tab causes the following problems. First, the electric core needs to leave a space in the height direction to bend the tab, so the space utilization rate in the height direction is low, making it difficult to increase the energy density of the secondary battery. Secondly, there is little space to bend the tabs, and the paths and sagging states from the tabs to the transfer sheet are different, making the tabs redundant and sinking, which causes safety risks due to short circuits in the secondary battery. Thirdly, after the tabs are bent, they are not supported and are easily inserted into the electrode sheet, which also causes safety risks due to short circuits in the secondary battery. Fourthly, the tabs are easily pressed, and the outer tabs are subjected to force, which makes them easily damaged and ruptured, reducing the overcurrent capacity and affecting the performance and service life of the battery. Fifthly, the tabs are long, which greatly affects the internal resistance of the battery and the performance of the secondary battery. At the same time, the raw material costs are also high.

[0003] In addition, with the deepening and expansion of various application fields of secondary batteries, the requirements for their safety performance are also becoming higher in each field. The tape attachment structure of secondary batteries is an important factor that affects the safety performance of the battery. There is a large room for improvement in the safety of tapes currently used for secondary batteries, and further improvement is needed. Summary of the Invention [Means for solving the problem]

[0037] In order to make the purpose, technical ideas and advantages of the embodiments of the present application clearer, the technical ideas in the embodiments of the present application will be described below clearly and completely with reference to the drawings in the embodiments of the present application, but it is obvious that the described embodiments are only some of the embodiments of the present application, and not all of the embodiments. All other embodiments obtained by those skilled in the art based on the embodiments of the present application without making any inventive efforts belong to the scope of protection of the present application.

[0038] Secondary batteries in this application include, but are not limited to, secondary lithium ion batteries, nickel metal hydride batteries, nickel chromium batteries, lead acid batteries, polymer lithium ion batteries, sodium batteries, and the like.

[0039] As shown with reference to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, a first aspect of the embodiment of the present application provides a secondary battery including a secondary battery assembly including an electric core assembly, a transfer conductor, and an insulating plate 14. The electric core assembly includes at least two electric cores 15 arranged in parallel, and a tab including a positive electrode tab 151a and a negative electrode tab 151b located on both sides of the top surface TS of the electric core 15 is extended from the top surface TS of the electric core 15. The electric core 15 includes a positive electrode sheet, a negative electrode sheet, and a separator separating the positive electrode sheet and the negative electrode sheet, and is prepared to be wound or stacked. Both the positive electrode sheet and the negative electrode sheet have a coated portion coated with an active material and an uncoated portion not coated with an active material, and since the materials of the active materials coated on the positive electrode sheet and the negative electrode sheet are different, the positive electrode sheet and the negative electrode sheet can have different polarities. Referring to FIG. 2, a positive electrode tab 151a is formed in an uncoated portion of the positive electrode sheet, and a negative electrode tab 151b is formed in an uncoated portion of the negative electrode sheet, and the positive electrode tab 151a and the negative electrode tab 151b each extend from the top surface TS of the electric core 15.

[0040] As shown in FIG. 1, the transfer conductor is a transfer sheet, and the secondary battery includes two transfer sheets, a positive electrode transfer sheet 12 which is an aluminum sheet, and a negative electrode transfer sheet 13 which is a copper sheet. The transfer conductor tab assembly includes a positive electrode assembly hole located on the positive electrode transfer sheet 12 and a negative electrode assembly hole located on the negative electrode transfer sheet 13, where the positive electrode assembly hole is located above the positive electrode tab, and the negative electrode assembly hole is located above the negative electrode tab. The projection area in the height direction of the tab is located inside the projection area in the height direction of the transfer conductor tab assembly, that is, the width and length of the tab should be less than or equal to the width and length of the transfer conductor tab assembly to ensure that the tab can be passed through the corresponding transfer conductor tab assembly. To explain, one tab includes multiple layers of plates drawn out from an electric core, and the multiple layers of plates are folded into one tab by ultrasonic welding or the like, and the folded position is located directly under the transfer conductor tab assembly. In one embodiment, the positive electrode assembly hole coincides with the projection in the height direction of the positive electrode tab that passes through the positive electrode assembly hole, i.e., the positive electrode assembly hole of the positive electrode transfer sheet 12 is located directly above the positive electrode tab, thereby minimizing the distance from the positive electrode tab to the positive electrode transfer sheet 12 and shortening the length of the positive electrode tab. The negative electrode assembly hole coincides with the projection in the height direction of the negative electrode tab that passes through the negative electrode assembly hole, i.e., the negative electrode assembly hole of the negative electrode transfer sheet 13 is located directly above the negative electrode tab, thereby minimizing the distance from the negative electrode tab to the negative electrode transfer sheet 13 and shortening the length of the negative electrode tab.

[0041] The number of the positive electrode assembly holes and the negative electrode assembly holes is specifically set according to the number of the electric cores 15 of the electric core assembly. For example, when the number of the electric cores 15 is two, the number of the positive electrode assembly holes and the negative electrode assembly holes may be one or two. For example, when the number of the electric cores 15 is n, where n is a positive integer equal to or greater than three, the number of the positive electrode assembly holes and the negative electrode assembly holes may be n-2. Specifically, for example, as shown in FIG. 1, when the number of the electric cores 15 is four, the number of the positive electrode assembly holes and the negative electrode assembly holes are two, which correspond to the first tabs of the two inner electric cores. Also, for example, when the number of the electric cores 15 is six, the number of the positive electrode assembly holes and the negative electrode assembly holes is four.

[0042] As shown in FIG. 1, the insulating plate 14 is located between the positive electrode transfer sheet 12 and the negative electrode transfer sheet 13 of the electric core assembly and the transfer sheet, and the insulating plate 14 is provided with a plate tab blending portion for passing a tab through, where the plate tab blending portion is a tab through hole. The insulating plate 14 is installed above the electric core 15 and below the positive electrode transfer sheet 12 and the negative electrode transfer sheet 13, and the positive electrode transfer sheet 12 and the negative electrode transfer sheet 13 are separated from the electric core 15 by the insulating plate 14. The number of tab through holes of the insulating plate 14 is at least four, and when the number of tab through holes is four, the four tab through holes are located at the four corners of the insulating plate 14, respectively, for use with tabs that pass through each electric core 15, respectively. Because of the presence of the insulating plate 14, when assembling the top cover to the case, even if pressed by the assembly force, the positive electrode transfer sheet 12 and the negative electrode transfer sheet 13 will not come into contact with the electric core 15, and an internal short circuit due to contact will not occur, thereby improving the safety of the secondary battery.

[0043] After the positive and negative tabs of the electric core 15 are folded, they are passed upward through the tab through-holes of the insulating plate 14 in order, and then the positive tab is passed through the positive assembly hole of the positive transfer sheet 12 and welded to the positive transfer sheet 12, and the negative tab is passed through the negative assembly hole of the negative transfer sheet 13 and welded to the negative transfer sheet 13. Alternatively, after the positive and negative tabs of the outer electric core of the battery assembly are folded, they are passed upward through the tab through-holes, the side assembly parts on both sides of the positive transfer sheet 12 and the negative transfer sheet 13 in order, and then welded to the positive transfer sheet 12 and the negative transfer sheet 13. After folding the positive and negative tabs of the remaining inner electric core, the tab through holes are sequentially passed upward, and then the positive tab is passed through the positive assembly hole of the positive transfer sheet 12 and welded to the positive transfer sheet 12 for connection, and the negative tab is passed through the negative assembly hole of the negative transfer sheet 13 and welded to the negative transfer sheet 13 for connection.

[0044] In the secondary battery assembly of the present embodiment, the tabs are folded and passed through the insulating plate 14 and the transfer conductor, and then rubbed and welded to the transfer conductor to be fixedly connected, so that the shape of the tabs can be completely hardened, the paths of the welded parts from the tabs to the transfer conductors of each layer are consistent, the relaxed state is the same, the tabs are not redundant and do not sink, there is no risk of the tabs being inserted into the electrode sheet, and the secondary battery has no safety risk of short circuit. By hardening the shape of the tabs, the tabs are not pressed, are not subjected to force, and are not damaged or broken, so that the performance and life of the battery are improved. The insulating plate 14 acts between the electric core assembly and the transfer conductor, hardening the shape of the tabs, providing insulation protection to prevent short circuits, and can also provide positioning for the transfer conductors.

[0045] Since the secondary battery assembly in the secondary battery of the present application is assembled using an electrical core assembly, transfer conductors, insulating plates, etc., some of the drawings show assembly configurations including these components, and some of the present specification will be described in conjunction with these assembly configurations.

[0046] In the embodiment of the present application, the transfer conductor in the secondary battery assembly has a transfer conductor tab assembly portion for passing the tab through, and the insulating plate has a plate tab fitting portion for passing the tab through. The transfer conductor tab assembly portion in the transfer conductor of the secondary battery of the present application has three types, namely, a transfer conductor tab assembly hole, a side assembly portion, and a side recess, among which the transfer conductor tab assembly hole further includes a first transfer conductor tab assembly hole used for passing one tab on one electric core in the electric core assembly therethrough, and a second transfer conductor tab assembly hole used for passing two tabs of the same polarity on two adjacent electric cores in the electric core assembly therethrough, and one transfer conductor can include any combination of these types. The plate tab combination part of the insulating plate has two types: plate tab combination hole and plate side recess, and the tab through hole of the insulating plate belongs to the plate tab combination hole, and the plate tab combination hole includes a first plate combination hole for passing one tab through it, and / or a second plate combination hole for passing multiple tabs of the same polarity of adjacent electric cores through it, and one insulating plate may include any combination of these types. The details will be explained below.

[0047] First, the connection relationship between the electric core assembly, the transfer conductor and the insulating plate will be described with reference to FIG.

[0048] FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram of an assembly structure of a secondary battery according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in FIG. 3, the assembly structure of the secondary battery of this embodiment includes an electric core assembly 210, an insulating plate 250, and transfer conductors 220a and 220b. FIG. 3 shows a three-dimensional coordinate system XYZ, in which the X direction is the width direction of the secondary battery, the Y direction is the thickness direction of the secondary battery, and the Z direction is the height direction of the secondary battery. The electric core assembly 210 includes four electric cores, and each electric core has two extended tabs on the top surface. Here, it includes two transfer conductors, which are transfer conductors 220a and 220b. Taking the transfer conductor 220a as an example, each transfer conductor has a first side 221a and a second side 222a extending in the thickness direction Y of the secondary battery, and a third side 223a and a fourth side 224a extending in the width direction X. Similarly, the transfer conductor 220b has four sides. A first side 221a of one transfer conductor 220a faces a first side 221b of the other transfer conductor 220b.

[0049] The transfer conductors 220a and 220b in FIG. 3 may correspond to the positive electrode transfer sheet 12 and the negative electrode transfer sheet 13 shown in FIG. 1, respectively.

[0050] In some embodiments, the transfer conductor tab assembly includes a transfer conductor tab assembly hole, which is a through hole located inside the transfer conductor, and some or all of the folded tab is connected to the transfer conductor by welding after sequentially passing through the plate tab joint portion and the transfer conductor tab assembly hole.

[0051] As shown in Fig. 3, the transfer conductor 220a has transfer conductor tab assembly holes 231a and 232a corresponding to the tabs 212a and 213a of the inner electric core, respectively. The transfer conductor 220b has transfer conductor tab assembly holes 231b and 232b corresponding to the tabs 212b and 213b of the inner electric core, respectively. For example, the transfer conductor tab assembly holes 231a and 232a are positive electrode assembly holes, and the transfer conductor tab assembly holes 231b and 232b are negative electrode assembly holes. In this embodiment, some of the tabs are connected to the transfer conductor by welding after passing through the plate tab combination portion and the transfer conductor tab assembly hole in sequence.

[0052] In other embodiments, the transfer conductor may be an integral transfer sheet, such as the integral transfer sheet in which the positive transfer sheet 12 and the negative transfer sheet 13 in Fig. 1 are connected by an insulating material. In this specification, the separately installed transfer sheets are described as an example.

[0053] In some embodiments, the transfer conductor tab assembly includes a side assembly located on a third side and / or a fourth side of the transfer conductor, and some or all of the folded tabs sequentially pass through the plate tab joint portion, bypass the side assembly, and are then welded to the transfer conductor.

[0054] 3, for example, in the transfer conductor 220a, the side assembly 241a is located on the third side 223a, and the side assembly 242a is located on the fourth side 224a, which correspond to the tabs 211a and 214a of the outer electric core. Similarly, in the transfer conductor 220b, the side assembly 241b is located on the third side 223b, and the side assembly 242b is located on the fourth side 224b, which correspond to the tabs 211b and 214b of the outer electric core. In this embodiment, some of the tabs are welded to the transfer conductor after passing through the plate tab joints in sequence and bypassing the side assembly.

[0055] Insulating plate 250 of FIG. 3 is one embodiment of an insulating plate and shows plate tab mating portions 251a, 252a, 253a, 254a, 251b, 252b, 253b, and 254b, which correspond to tabs 211a, 212a, 213a, 214a, 211b, 212b, 213b, and 214b, respectively.

[0056] In the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the inner electric core is located inside the electric core assembly, and the tabs 212a, 212b, 213a, 213b of the inner electric core are first tabs, and the folded first tabs sequentially pass through the plate tab mating portions 252a, 252b, 253a, 253b and the transfer conductor tab assembly holes 231a, 231b, 232a, 232b, and then are welded to and connected to the transfer conductors. The outer electric cores are located outside the electric core assembly and are the two outermost electric cores of the electric core assembly. The tabs 211a, 211b, 214a, 214b of the outer electric cores are second tabs. The folded second tabs pass through the plate tab joint portions 251a, 251b, 254a, 254b in sequence, bypass the side assembly portions 241a, 241b, 242a, 242b, and are then welded and connected to the transfer conductors.

[0057] In the following, first, some transfer conductor embodiments will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0058] Example 1 of transfer conductor

[0059] In some embodiments, the transfer conductor tab assembly hole includes a first transfer conductor tab assembly hole and / or a second transfer conductor tab assembly hole, where a positive electrode tab or a negative electrode tab on one electric core in the electric core assembly passes through the first transfer conductor tab assembly hole and two positive electrode tabs or two negative electrode tabs on two adjacent electric cores in the electric core assembly pass through the second transfer conductor tab assembly hole.

[0060] As shown in Fig. 4A, this embodiment includes two transfer conductors 401, 402. Take the transfer conductor 401 as an example, the transfer conductor 401 includes a second transfer conductor tab hole 420 and side assembly parts 411, 412, and is located on sink platforms 421, 422 whose depths are greater than or equal to the thickness of the tab of the electric core and less than the thickness of the transfer sheet. By setting the sink platforms, the space utilization rate from the top of the electric core assembly to the top cover can be further improved without increasing the height of the transfer conductor after the tab is folded. Fig. 4B is an electric core assembly 440 corresponding to the transfer conductor of Fig. 4A, Fig. 4C is a perspective view after the tab is folded, and Fig. 4D is a cross-sectional view taken along the line A1-A1' in Fig. 4C. 4A-4D, the second transfer conductor tab assembly hole 420 is used to pass the two inner positive electrode tabs 412a, 413a through together and bend outward, and the side edge assemblies 411, 412 are used to bypass the outer positive electrode tabs 411a, 414a and bend inward. The transfer conductors 401, 402 are adapted to cooperate with an electric core assembly 440 consisting of four electric cores, so that the positive electrode tabs on each electric core are all aligned and the negative electrode tabs are all aligned.

[0061] As shown in FIG. 4A , the transfer conductor has a transfer conductor central axis C1 extending in the width direction X of the secondary battery, the second transfer conductor tab assembly hole 420 is located on the transfer conductor central axis C1, and the second transfer conductor tab assembly hole 420 is symmetrical with respect to the vertical plane in which the transfer conductor central axis C1 is located.

[0062] In this embodiment, also included on the transfer conductor 401 are transfer conductor poles 430 that are used to conductively connect the tabs to respective corresponding poles on the rechargeable battery top cover.

[0063] It should be noted that the transfer conductors 401, 402 shown in Figure 4A can be adapted to an electric core assembly in which each electric core has a tab on the inside thereof, and Figure 4B shows an electric core assembly in which each electric core has a tab on the inside thereof, as will be described later.

As shown in FIG. 8B, the tabs are bent inward after bypassing the side assembly portion and the side recess, respectively. Such an embodiment has a beneficial effect of facilitating the penetration of the tabs and simplifying the mounting process.

[0081] It should be noted that the transfer conductor 800 shown in Figures 8A and 8B is adapted to cooperate with an electrical core assembly having staggered tabs, as shown in Figure 8A, which will be described below.

[0082] The above transfer conductor examples 1 to 5 do not cover all the structures of the transfer conductors claimed for protection in the present application. The transfer conductor tab assembly in the transfer conductor of the present application may include any combination of one or more first transfer conductor tab assembly holes, second transfer conductor tab assembly holes, side assembly parts, and side recesses, and any combination is within the scope of the protection claimed in the present application. In addition, since the electric core assembly, the transfer conductor, and the insulating plate are used in cooperation with each other in the secondary battery, the insulating plate and the electric core assembly corresponding to different transfer conductors may have different configurations.

[0085] Insulation plate example 1

[0086] The insulating plate of this embodiment includes two separate insulating plates 901 and 902. Fig. 9A is a plan view of one insulating plate 901 in one embodiment of the present application, and Fig. 9B is a plan view of another insulating plate 902 in one embodiment of the present application. [0091] The insulating plates 901, 902 are adapted to cooperate with an electric core assembly consisting of four electric cores, and also with transfer conductors associated with the four electric cores.

[0092] Insulation plate example 2

[0093] Fig. 10 is a plan view of an insulating plate in a secondary battery according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Fig. 10, the insulating plate 1000 is an integrated insulating plate having a first plate side edge 1001 and a second plate side edge 1002 that are disposed opposite each other along the X direction. The plate tab blending portions in this embodiment are plate side edge recesses 1031a, 1031b, 1032a, and 1032b, and the plate side edge recesses 1031a and 1031b are located on the first plate side edge 1001, and the plate side edge recesses 1032a and 1032b are located on the second plate side edge 1002.

[0094] The insulating plate 1000 is adapted to cooperate with an electric core assembly consisting of two electric cores, and also with transfer conductors associated with the two electric cores.

[0095] In some embodiments, the plate tab fitting portion of the insulating plate includes a plate tab fitting hole and a plate side edge recess, in which the plate side edge recess corresponds to the outer tab located on the outside, and the plate tab fitting hole corresponds to the remaining inner tab. It is suitable for cooperating with an electric core assembly including a plurality of electric cores to form a thick secondary battery.

[0096] Insulating plate example 3

[0097] The plate tab blending holes include a first plate blending hole adapted to pass a single tab therethrough and / or a second plate blending hole adapted to pass multiple tabs of the same polarity on adjacent electric cores therethrough. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 9A, the plate tab blending holes are both first plate blending holes and both are adapted to pass a single tab therethrough.

[0098] FIG. 11 is a plan view of an insulating plate according to a third embodiment of the secondary battery of the present application. As shown in FIG. 11, the insulating plate 1100 is an integrated insulating plate having a set of second plate fitting holes 1121a, 1122a, another set of second plate fitting holes 1121b, 1122b, and positioning reinforcement structures 1120a, 1120b. Compared with the first plate fitting holes, the second plate fitting holes have a significantly larger width D111 in the Y direction, and can be used simultaneously to pass through the tabs of the same polarity of at least two adjacent electric cores therethrough. The insulating plate 1100 is adapted to cooperate with an electric core assembly consisting of four electric cores, and is also adapted to the transfer conductors associated with the four electric cores.

[0099] In some embodiments, the width of the second plate blending holes along the Y direction may be wider than that shown in Figure 11, and in extreme cases, the second plate blending holes 1121a, 1122a are in communication with each other. It can be seen that the wider the second plate blending holes are, the more tabs can be passed through them.

[0100] Insulating plate example 4

[0101] In some embodiments, the secondary battery has a first central axis E1 extending along its width direction X, and the insulating plate is provided with a plurality of first plate blending holes that are symmetrically distributed with respect to a vertical plane on which the first central axis E1 is located. The secondary battery also has a second central axis E2 extending along its thickness direction Y, and the plurality of first plate blending holes are symmetrically distributed with respect to a vertical plane on which the second central axis E2 is located. The plurality of plate tab blending portions are evenly divided into two parallel groups on the vertical plane on which the second central axis E2 is located (the vertical plane is a plane parallel to the YZ plane), and each parallel group includes N plate tab blending portions. The N plate tab blending portions are evenly divided into two vertical groups on the vertical plane on which the first central axis E1 is located (the vertical plane is a plane parallel to the YZ plane), and each vertical group includes N / 2 plate tab blending portions. A first distance is provided between the N / 2 plate tab combination parts and a vertical plane (the vertical plane is a plane parallel to the YZ plane) on which the first center axis E1 is located, and a second distance is provided between the N / 2 plate tab combination parts and a vertical plane (the vertical plane is a plane parallel to the YZ plane) on which the second center axis E2 is located, and the second distance increases or decreases with an increase in the first distance, where N is an even number equal to or greater than 4.

[0102] Fig. 12 is a plan view of an insulating plate according to a fourth embodiment of the secondary battery of the present invention. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 12, an insulating plate 1200 of the present embodiment has 12 plate tab combination parts, and these plate tab combination parts are all first plate fitting holes including the first plate combination holes 1221a-1226a, 1221b-1226b. In this embodiment, N=6. Taking the first plate blending holes 1221b to 1226b as an example, the first plate blending hole 1224b has a first distance D121 and a second distance L121, the first plate blending hole 1225b has a first distance D122 and a second distance L122, and the first plate blending hole 1226b has a first distance D123 and a second distance L123, where D123>D122>D121 and L123>L122>L121, i.e., as the first distance increases, the second distance increases.

[0103] In some embodiments, in each vertical group, at least two plate tab blends communicate with each other, forming a Z-shaped connection. As shown in FIG. 12, tab blends 1222a, 1223a communicate with each other, forming a Z-shaped connection.

[0104] 8B and 12, an insulating plate 1200 is adapted for use in an electric core assembly including the six electric cores shown in FIG. 8B.

[0105] The above insulating plate examples 1 to 4 do not cover all the configurations of the insulating plate claimed in the present application. The plate tab combination portion in the insulating plate of the present application may include any combination of one or more first plate combination holes, second plate combination holes, and plate side recesses, all of which are within the scope of the protection claimed in the present application. Similarly, the transfer conductors and electric core assemblies corresponding to different insulating plates may be different.

[0106] In some embodiments, each electric core has a first side and a second side disposed oppositely along a thickness direction of the electric core assembly, the first side of each electric core disposed adjacent to an inner side of the electric core assembly, and the second side of each electric core disposed adjacent to an outer side of the electric core assembly. A tab extends from a position adjacent to the first side on the top surface of the electric core in the thickness direction of the electric core assembly. The tab extends from a position adjacent to the first side on the top surface of the electric core, which can reduce the internal resistance of the secondary battery and greatly improve the voltage platform and battery performance. An example of an electric core assembly in which a tab is disposed on the inside of each electric core is described below with reference to the drawings.

[0107] 4A-4D, in this embodiment, the electric core assembly 440 includes four electric cores, 441, 442, 443, and 444, and FIG. 4D shows a first side of each electric core, 441a, 442a, 443a, and 444a, respectively. Positive electrode tabs 411a, 412a, 413a, and 414a and negative electrode tabs 411b, 412b, 413b, and 414b each extend from a position on the top surface of the corresponding electric core near the first side in the thickness direction of the electric core assembly 440.

[0108] Further explaining the example of the transfer conductor 401, as shown in FIG. 4A, the upper surface of the transfer conductor 401 is divided into a first transfer conductor region F1 and a second transfer conductor region F2 by a dividing line F extending along the thickness direction of the electric core assembly. The transfer conductor pole 430 in the transfer conductor 401 is located in the first transfer conductor region F1. The second transfer conductor tab assembly hole 420 corresponding to the two electric cores inside the electric core assembly is located in the second transfer conductor region F2, and the second projection of the transfer conductor pole 430 along the width direction X of the electric core assembly covers the first projection of the second transfer conductor tab assembly hole 420 along the width direction of the electric core assembly. According to such an embodiment, there are at least three beneficial effects as follows.

[0109] (1) The width of the second transfer conductor tab assembly hole 420 in the Y direction is not too wide, so there is no weak point of current conduction caused by the tab assembly part between the connection part formed by connecting the tab of the outer electric core and the transfer conductor 401 and the transfer conductor pole 430, especially no weak point of current conduction caused by a through hole such as the second transfer conductor tab assembly hole 420. Therefore, the internal resistance between the connection part formed by connecting the tab of the outer electric core and the transfer conductor 401 and the transfer conductor pole 430 is reduced, and the internal resistance of the secondary battery is further reduced, and the voltage platform and performance are greatly improved.

[0110] (2) The two electric core tabs closest to the inside of the electric core assembly can be bent toward the outside of the electric core assembly after passing through the second transfer conductor tab hole 420 in the transfer conductor 401, and the remaining electric core tabs can be bent toward the inside of the electric core assembly after passing through the tab assembly in the transfer sheet. This makes the internal resistance between the connection part formed by connecting the electric core tabs close to the outside of the electric core assembly and the transfer conductor 401 to the transfer conductor pole 430 and the internal resistance between the connection part between the electric core tabs close to the inside of the electric core assembly and the transfer conductor 401 to the transfer conductor pole 430 match, improving the long-term usability of the secondary battery.

[0111] (3) The tab combination portion is entirely set in the second transfer conductor region F2, which takes into consideration the production of the electric core, and reduces the internal resistance between the connection portion formed by connecting the tab of the outer electric core and the transfer conductor 401 to the transfer conductor pole 430, thereby further reducing the internal resistance of the secondary battery, and greatly improving the voltage platform and performance.

[0112] An embodiment of an electrical core assembly having staggered tabs will now be described with reference to the drawings.

[0113] FIG. 13A is a schematic diagram of an assembly of a secondary battery having staggered tabs according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in FIG. 13A, the assembly includes an electric core assembly 1310, an insulating plate 1320, and transfer conductors 1330a and 1330b. In this embodiment, the electric core assembly 1310 includes two electric core groups 1301 and 1302 adjacent to each other in the thickness direction Y of the secondary battery. Each electric core group includes at least two electric cores, and the at least two electric cores of each electric core group are adjacent to each other in the thickness direction Y. Each electric core includes a tab protruding from the top surface of the electric core, and the tabs include a positive tab and a negative tab, and the top surfaces of the electric cores form a plane. The plane is divided into equal first and second planar areas (Zone1 and Zone2) by a central axis C2 extending along the thickness direction. Here, all the positive electrode tabs are located in the first planar region (Zone 1), all the negative electrode tabs are located in the second planar region (Zone 2), all the projections along the thickness direction Y of the positive electrode tabs located in the first planar region (Zone 1) in each electric core group do not overlap, and all the projections along the thickness direction Y of the negative electrode tabs located in the second planar region (Zone 2) in each electric core group do not overlap. Specifically, the positive electrode tabs 1311a and 1312a in the electric core group 1301 are located in the first planar region (Zone 1) and are staggered without overlapping each other. The negative electrode tabs 1311b and 1312b in the electric core group 1301 are located in the second planar region (Zone 2) and are staggered without overlapping each other. The positive electrode tabs 1313a, 1314a in the electric core group 1302 are located in a first planar area (Zone 1) and are staggered without overlapping each other. The negative electrode tabs 1313b, 1314a in the electric core group 1302 are located in a second planar area (Zone 2) and are staggered without overlapping each other.

[0114] In some embodiments, the projections along the width direction X and height direction Z of all the positive electrode tabs located in the first planar region (Zone 1) of each electric core group do not overlap, and the projections along the width direction X and height direction Z of all the negative electrode tabs located in the second planar region (Zone 2) of each electric core group do not overlap.

[0115] As shown in FIG. 13A, insulating plate 1320 is provided with plate tab combination portions 1321a, 1322a, 1323a, 1324a, 1321b, 1322b, 1323b, and 1324b, transfer conductor 1330a is provided with side assembly portions 1331a and 1334a and first transfer conductor tab assembly holes 1332a and 1333a, and transfer conductor 1330b is provided with side assembly portions 1331b and 1323b and first transfer conductor tab assembly holes 1332b and 1333b.

[0116] Fig. 13B is a schematic diagram of the assembled configuration of Fig. 13A. The positive electrode tabs 1311a, 1312a, 1313a, 1314a sequentially pass through the plate tab combination parts 1321a, 1322a, 1323a, 1324a, the side assembly part 1331a, the first transfer conductor tab assembly hole 1332a, the first transfer conductor tab assembly hole 1333a, and the side assembly part 1334a. [0117] According to the embodiment shown in Figures 13A and 13B, each tab in the first planar region or the second planar region in each electric core group is staggered with respect to each other, so that the projections along the thickness direction Y do not overlap, and after the tabs are bent, the current flowing from the outer tabs does not flow through the gaps of the transfer conductor tab assembly holes corresponding to the other tabs, thereby reducing the internal resistance of the circuit in this portion, further reducing the internal resistance of the secondary battery, and improving the voltage platform and performance of the secondary battery. In another embodiment, the tabs of each electric core have a tab height, and all the tabs in each electric core group have the same tab height. Alternatively, two adjacent electric core groups are adjacent to each other via an adjacent surface, and each electric core group has multiple tabs, and in each electric core group, the tab height of some or all of the tabs increases with an increase in the distance between the tabs and the adjacent surface.

[0118] 13A and 13B are only used as an example of staggered tabs. When the number of electric cores increases, the number of transfer conductor tab assemblies in the transfer conductor and plate tab combinations in the insulating plate are also appropriately changed, and the configurations may refer to the embodiments shown in Fig. 8A and Fig. 12 respectively.

[0119] In some embodiments, the electric core assembly includes at least one electric core pair, each electric core pair including two adjacent electric cores, where tabs of the same polarity of the two adjacent electric cores are merged together into a single unitary tab, and the single unitary tab is connected to the transfer conductor by welding after sequentially penetrating the plate tab joining portion and the transfer conductor tab joining portion.

[0120] FIG. 14A is a schematic diagram of an assembled configuration having a secondary battery for merging tabs according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 14B is a schematic diagram of the assembled configuration of FIG. 14A. Referring to FIG. 14A and FIG. 14B, an electric core assembly 1410 is provided, which includes two electric core groups 1401 and 1402. The positive electrode tabs 1411a and 1412a of two adjacent electric cores in the electric core group 1401 are merged together into one unitary tab 1401. The negative electrode tabs 1411b and 1412b of two adjacent electric cores in the electric core group 1401 are merged together into one unitary tab 1402. The positive electrode tabs 1413a and 1414a of two adjacent electric cores in the electric core group 1402 are merged together into one unitary tab 1403. The negative electrode tabs 1413a, 1414a of two adjacent electric cores in the electric core group 1402 are merged together as one unitary tab 1404. In this embodiment, the insulating plate 1420 has plate tab combination holes 1421a, 1421b, 1422a, 1422b. The transfer conductor 1430a has transfer conductor tab assembly holes 1431a, 1432a. The transfer conductor 1430b has transfer conductor tab assembly holes 1431b, 1432b. The unitary tab 1401 passes through the plate tab combination hole 1421a and the transfer conductor tab assembly hole 1431a in sequence. The unitary tab 1402 passes through the plate tab combination hole 1421b and the transfer conductor tab assembly hole 1431b in sequence. The unitary tab 1403 passes through the plate tab alignment hole 1422a and the transfer conductor tab assembly hole 1432a in sequence, while the unitary tab 1404 passes through the plate tab alignment hole 1422b and the transfer conductor tab assembly hole 1432b in sequence.

[0121] According to the embodiment shown in Figures 14A and 14B, by merging tabs of the same polarity, the number of transfer conductor tab assembly sections and plate tab combination sections can be reduced, the assembly process can be further simplified, and this is advantageous for improving the production efficiency of secondary batteries.

[0122] The secondary battery assembly of the present invention can be assembled into a plurality of different types of secondary battery assemblies with different structures by cooperating the electric core assembly, the transfer conductor, and the insulating plate. In addition, the heights of the outer first positive electrode tab 151a, first negative electrode tab 151b, fourth positive electrode tab 154a, and fourth negative electrode tab 154b are all greater than the heights of the inner second positive electrode tab 152a, second negative electrode tab 152b, third positive electrode tab 153a, and third negative electrode tab 153b.

[0146] 19B and 19C, the second positive electrode tab 152a and the third positive electrode tab 153a each pass through a side assembly portion and a transfer conductor tab assembly hole of the positive electrode transfer sheet 12, and then both are bent in the direction of the central axis of the positive electrode transfer sheet 12, and both are welded and connected to the top surface of the positive electrode transfer sheet 12. In an embodiment including an even number of electric cores, the two centrally located electric cores may have the lowest tab height, with the remaining tabs similarly decreasing from the outer electric core to the inner electric core.

[0149] The above secondary battery assembly embodiments 1 to 5 and their drawings are used to describe several secondary battery assembly embodiments, in which the transfer conductors and insulating plates corresponding to different electric core assemblies may also be different.

[0150] 20A to 20C show a secondary battery provided in a second aspect of the embodiment of the present application, which includes the same electric core assembly, insulating plate 14 and transfer conductor as those in the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, and therefore the same reference numerals are used. Here, FIG. 20A is an overall schematic diagram of the secondary battery 1, FIG. 20B is an explosion diagram of the secondary battery 1, and FIG. 20C is a cross-sectional view taken along line A9-A9' in FIG. 20A. Referring to FIGS. 20A to 20C, the secondary battery 1 includes a case 16 having a hollow structure with an open top and closed periphery, in which the secondary battery assembly described in any one of the above embodiments is mounted, and a top cover 11 is provided on the top of the case 16 to seal the secondary battery assembly within the case 16, and the top cover 11 is provided with poles 11a and 11b connected to transfer conductors for drawing the current of the secondary battery assembly to the outside of the case 16. One of the poles 11a and 11b is a positive pole and the other is a negative pole, and the polarity of the poles corresponds to the polarity of the transfer conductor below. As shown in FIG. 20C, the top cover 11 includes a top cover plate 111 and a lower insulating part 112 located at the bottom of the top cover plate 111. After the transfer conductor of the secondary battery assembly loaded in the case 16 is connected to the pole in the top cover 11, the assembly of the secondary battery 1 is completed. The tab of the secondary battery 1 in this assembly structure is completely fixed in the space formed by the transfer conductor and the lower insulating part 112, and the height of the electric core is increased by the height H1 from the top cover plate 111 to the electric core = T1 (thickness of the lower insulating part 112) + T2 (thickness of the transfer conductor 12) + T3 (thickness of the insulating plate 14), and the volumetric energy density of the secondary battery is greatly increased.

[0151] In the process of assembling and welding the above-mentioned assembly structure, the transfer conductor needs to be connected to the tab of the electric core by welding. In some cases, the transfer conductor and the tab of the electric core are welded vertically, and the weld strength cannot be ensured unless the force is applied in the vertical direction, so the transfer conductor and the insulating plate need to be pressed by external force, which reduces the assembly efficiency of production and increases the production cost.

[0152] In some embodiments, the inner wall of the case of the secondary battery of the present application is provided with a limit structure that restricts the insulating plate within the case. Figures 21 to 23D are used to explain these embodiments. These embodiments can solve the problems of the related art that the transfer sheet and the insulating plate need to be pressed by an external force during the assembly welding process of the secondary battery, which reduces the production assembly efficiency and increases the production cost.

[0153] As shown in FIG. 21, a first aspect of an embodiment of the present application provides a case 2101 that self-fits with an insulating plate, the case 2101 having a battery case 2111 of a rectangular cylindrical structure that is open at the top and closed around the periphery, and an inner wall 2111a of the battery case 2111 is provided with a limit structure 2112 that restricts the insulating plate 2102 within the battery case 2111, and this limit structure 2112 can firmly fix the insulating plate 2102 within the battery case 2111 and facilitates welding connection between the tabs and the transfer conductors 2103a, 2103b on the top of the insulating plate 2102.

[0154] 21, in some alternative embodiments, the limit structure 2112 is a plurality of pads fixed to the inner wall 2111a of the battery case 2111, and the plurality of pads are located on two parallel inner walls 2111a of the battery case 2111. The inner walls 2111a are inner side walls of the battery case 2111, which consists of four side walls, and the limit structure 2112 may be located on any of the side walls.

[0155] The pads and the battery case 2111 are an integrally molded structure made of aluminum alloy material, and the pads are adjacent to an opening at the top of the battery case 2111. The pads are provided on the inner wall of the battery case 2111, respectively, and surround the periphery of the insulating plate 2102. After the insulating plate 2102 is attached to the inside of the battery case 2111, the pads are collectively engaged with the periphery of the insulating plate 2102 to prevent the insulating plate 2102 from escaping from the inside of the battery case 2111. The engagement here means that the insulating plate 2102 is located above or at the middle of the pads, and the pads fix the insulating plate 2102 and prevent the insulating plate 2102 from moving up and down.

[0156] 23A to 23D are side cross-sectional views of the case, showing four different embodiments of the limit structure.

[0157] In some selectable embodiments, as shown with reference to FIG. 23A, the limit structure 2112 is a spherical crown-shaped pad 2113a protruding toward the inside of the battery case 2111, and the multiple pads 2113a are located at the same height on the inner wall 2111a of the battery case 2111. The pad 2113a in the embodiment of the present application is designed as a spherical crown-shaped structure protruding toward the inside of the battery case 2111, and in order to facilitate processing of the spherical crown-shaped pad 2113a, the spherical crown-shaped pad 2113a can be obtained by punching from the outside of the battery case 2111 toward the inside of the battery case 2111 using a press die, which is advantageous for reducing manufacturing costs, and the spherical crown-shaped pad 2113a makes it easy to push the insulating plate 2102 into the battery case 2111, and can reduce the difficulty of installation.

[0158] 23B, the limit structure 2112 is a pad 2113b that is a triangular limit block protruding toward the inside of the battery case 11. Taking one of the pads 2113b as an example, the top of the triangular limit block is provided with a guide surface 2114 that faces diagonally downward, and the bottom of the triangular limit block is provided with a limit surface 2115 that abuts against the insulating plate 2102.

[0159] The pad 2113b in the embodiment of the present application is designed as a triangular limit block protruding toward the inside of the battery case 2111, and the guide surface 2114 at the top of the triangular limit block facilitates pushing the insulating plate 2102 into the battery case 2111, and the limit surface 2115 at the bottom of the triangular limit block is used to restrict the insulating plate 2102 within the battery case 2111, preventing the insulating plate 2102 from escaping from the battery case 2111, and improving the reliability of the engagement between the insulating plate 2102 and the battery case 2111.

[0160] In some alternative embodiments, as shown in FIG. 23C, the limit structure 2112 is a pad 2113c, which includes an upper limit block 2121 and a lower limit block 2117, the upper limit block 2121 being located on top of the lower limit block 2117 and spaced apart from each other, and a limit space 2123 is formed between the upper limit block 2121 and the lower limit block 2117 to engage the insulating plate 2102. In this embodiment, the upper limit block 2121 and the lower limit block 2117 are used to position the insulating plate 2102 in the height direction, ensuring that the height position of the insulating plate 2102 remains constant, and reducing the risk of short circuit caused by the tab being excessively depressed and contacting the electrode sheet due to excessive pressing down of the insulating plate 2102.

[0161] In some selectable embodiments, as shown with reference to FIG. 23D, the limit structure 2112 of the case 2101 of the secondary battery is a groove 2119 provided in the inner wall 2111a of the battery case 2111, and the groove 2119 engages with the edge of the gasket 2 to engage the gasket 2 in the battery case 2111. The groove 2119 is located in the two parallel inner walls 2111a of the battery case 2111 and extends along the longitudinal direction of the insulating plate 2102. Both the left and right sides of the insulating plate 2102 are located in the grooves 2119 in the two parallel side walls of the battery case 2111, and the grooves 2119 ensure that the height position of the insulating plate 2102 is kept constant, and the risk of short circuit caused by the tab being excessively depressed and contacting the electrode sheet due to excessive pressing down of the insulating plate 2102 is reduced.

[0162] Of course, in other embodiments, multiple grooves 2119 can be provided, and multiple grooves 2119 are provided at intervals along the longitudinal direction of insulating plate 2102, and multiple bumps that fit into the grooves 2119 are provided on the edges of insulating plate 2102, and the bumps of insulating plate 2102 are positioned respectively in the multiple grooves 2119, thereby allowing insulating plate 2102 positioned within battery case 2111 to move up and down.

[0163] 24A and 24B are both plan views of a secondary battery assembly, in which the insulating plate 2401 shown in Fig. 24A can be engaged with the limit structure. The insulating plate 2402 shown in Fig. 24B is based on the insulating plate 2401 and has a bump 2411 that fits into the groove 2119.

[0164] As shown in Figures 21 and 22, the inner wall 2111a of the battery case 2111 of the present application is provided with a limit structure 2112 that restricts the insulating plate 2102 within the battery case 2111, and this limit structure 2112 can restrict the insulating plate 2102 within the battery case 2111, and can achieve the following beneficial effects.

[0165] (1) Self-locking between the insulating plate 2102 and the battery case 2111 is achieved, and there is no need to apply external force to the transfer sheet when welding the transfer conductor and the tab, which reduces processing difficulty and improves production efficiency.

[0166] (2) The distance in the height direction between the electric core and the insulating plate 2102 is reduced, thereby improving the energy density of the secondary battery.

[0167] (3) The connection strength between the transfer conductor and the electric core can be increased, the earthquake resistance of the electric core can be improved, and the connection reliability between the tab and the transfer conductor can be increased.

[0168] In response to the problem that the secondary battery tape in the related art should improve the safety during use of the secondary battery, the present application proposes a secondary battery assembly as shown in FIG. 25, which includes, in addition to the above-mentioned secondary battery, an electric core assembly 2501 (also called a winding core) with multiple tabs on the top, two transfer conductors 2511 (also called a transfer sheet) on the top of the electric core assembly 2501, and at least one double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502, in which the tabs are respectively welded to the surfaces of the two transfer conductors 2511 to form a welding area 2512, and both sides of the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502 are adhesive surfaces, which are attached above the transfer conductors 2511 and cover at least the welding area 2512.

[0169] 26, the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502 includes two adhesive layers 2622 and a carbonate protective layer 2623 provided between the two adhesive layers 2622. This allows the carbonate protective layer 2623 to release gas that suppresses combustion when the secondary battery unexpectedly goes into a thermal runaway state, thereby improving the safety of the secondary battery.

[0170] According to these embodiments, the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502, which is an adhesive layer 2622 on both sides, is installed on the transfer conductor 2511. The double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502 adheres and covers the welding area 2512, and can effectively prevent the solder slag that may fall on the welding area 2512 from leaving the welding area 2512 and falling into the inside of the electric core assembly 2501. At the same time, since there is an adhesive layer 2622 on the other side, in the subsequent processing steps, the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502 can also adhere foreign matter such as solder slag and dust that has fallen thereon, and can effectively reduce the possibility of the foreign matter entering the electric core assembly 2501. In addition, the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502 covering the welding area 2512 can effectively prevent the welding area 2512 from contacting the electrolyte after the secondary battery is injected, and can also reduce the corrosion rate thereof. Finally, the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502 can effectively protect the secondary battery.

[0171] Additionally, the carbonate protective layer 2623 is a sodium bicarbonate or sodium carbonate layer structure.

[0172] Preferably, the adhesive layer 2622 is a double-sided adhesive layer 2622, and the carbonate protective layer 2623 is a powder bed structure spread and adhered between two adhesive layers 2622.

[0173] This placement allows the carbonate protective layer 2623 to be quickly and efficiently set into two protective adhesive layers, making the process less difficult and easier to implement.

[0174] Fig. 27 is an explosion diagram of the secondary battery assembly of the embodiment shown in Fig. 25. As shown in Fig. 27, the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502 of this embodiment includes two double-sided protective adhesive layers 2502 separated from each other. Each double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502 adheres and covers one or more welding areas 2512 on two transfer conductors 2511, respectively. Referring to Fig. 25, in this embodiment, specifically, two double-sided protective adhesive layers 2502 are provided to cover the welding areas 2512 on each transfer conductor 2511, respectively.

[0175] In some embodiments, the double-sided protective adhesive layer is an overall sheet structure, such as the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2503 shown in Fig. 28, which simultaneously adheres and covers the welding areas 2512 on the two transfer sheets 2511. This allows one double-sided protective adhesive layer 2503 to simultaneously cover multiple welding areas 2512, making the operation faster, and the area covered by the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2503 on the top surface of the electric core assembly 2501 is wider, so that the effect of adhering foreign matter is more prominent.

[0176] 25, it is preferable that a transfer pad 2530 and an injection hole 2531 are provided on the transfer conductor 2511, and a first hole position 2520 corresponding to the transfer pad 2530 and a second hole position 2521 corresponding to the injection hole 2531 are provided on the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502. The transfer pad 2530 is also called a transfer conductor pole.

[0177] Furthermore, the shape and size of the first hole 2520 coincide with the shape and size of the transfer pad 2530 along the circumferential direction. The second hole 2521 coincides with the shape and size of the injection hole 2531 along the circumferential direction.

[0178] By arranging in this manner, the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502 can more fully cover the transfer conductors 2511 while not affecting the normal use of the secondary battery, thereby protecting the transfer conductors 2511 and preventing the welding slag from falling off.

[0179] Referring to FIG. 25, in some preferred embodiments, an insulating plate 2510 is provided between the transfer conductor 2511 and the electrical core assembly 2501 to cover the top of the electrical core assembly 2501, and the tab is welded to the surface of the transfer conductor 2511, i.e., the top surface of the transfer conductor 2511, after penetrating the insulating plate 2510 and the transfer conductor 2511.

[0180] The insulating plate 2510 has a vent hole 2514 in the area between the two transfer conductors 2511, which improves the heat dissipation of the electric core assembly 2501. The vent hole is also called an explosion-proof valve.

[0181] Furthermore, the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502 completely covers the transfer conductor 2511, and both ends of the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502 protrude from both side edges of the insulating plate 2510 and are adhered to the side walls of the electric core assembly 2501. Here, the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502 protruding from the peripheral portion of the insulating plate 2510 is adhered to the side walls of the electric core assembly 2501. Specifically, in this embodiment, the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502 is provided as an entire sheet and is simultaneously coated on two transfer conductors 2511. The length of the longitudinal direction of the insulating plate 2510 is the same as that of the insulating plate 2510, the length of the width direction of the insulating plate 2510 is 20 mm wider than the width of the insulating plate 2510, and both ends of the longitudinal direction are further extended to the side walls of the electric core assembly 2501. The protective effect of the double-sided protective adhesive layer 2502 on the electric core assembly 2501 can be further improved, and the safety of the secondary battery can be improved.

[0182] Various assembly structures of the secondary battery of the present application have been described above. In addition, in the embodiments of the present application, a method for assembling the above-mentioned secondary battery is provided, which takes the secondary battery 1 shown in FIG. 20A as an example and includes the following steps:

[0183] In step 101, multiple layers of electrode sheets drawn from an electric core 15 are stacked and then ultrasonically pre-welded into tabs, including positive and negative tabs.

[0184] In step 102, a plurality of electric cores 15 are bundled in parallel and the bundled combination of the electric cores 15 is formed into an electric core assembly.

[0185] In step 103 , an insulating plate 14 is provided on top of the electrical core assembly, with the positive and negative tabs of each electrical core 15 passing through the plate tab interface of the insulating plate 14 .

[0186] In step 104, the transfer conductors are provided on top of the insulating plate 14 with the positive and negative tabs of each electrical core 15 passing through the transfer conductor tab assembly including the positive transfer sheet 12 and the negative transfer sheet 13.

[0187] In step 105, the positive and negative electrode tabs that have passed through the transfer conductor tab assembly are folded, and the positive and negative electrode tabs are tightly attached to the top surfaces of the positive transfer sheet 12 and the negative transfer sheet 13, respectively, and welded to join them to form a secondary battery assembly.

[0188] In step 106, a top cover 11 is provided on the top of the secondary battery assembly to connect the positive electrode transfer sheet 12 and the negative electrode transfer sheet 13, and the poles of the top cover 11 are electrically connected to the transfer conductors, the poles including positive poles and negative poles, which are connected to the positive electrode transfer sheet 12 and the negative electrode transfer sheet 13, respectively.

[0189] In step 107 , the secondary battery assembly is loaded into the open-topped case 16 , and the top cover 11 is used to seal the secondary battery assembly within the case 16 .

[0190] The secondary battery assembly method according to the embodiment of the present invention can significantly reduce the requirement for tab height, reduce raw material costs, and effectively improve the roll pressing and tensioning effect after shortening the tab (poor tensioning of the blank foil portion can cause cutting edge burrs due to the tab punching, which is a safety hazard). By shortening the tab, the volumetric energy density of the battery core is improved, the space utilization rate of the secondary battery is improved, and the problem of short circuit caused by the positive electrode tab pressing down on the negative electrode tab when the tab is bent is improved.
