Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a pipe joint having a nipple and a socket. [Background technology]

[0002] A piping joint having a nipple and a socket is connected to an end of a hose, and serves to supply the fluid flowing through the hose to an appropriate device or to discharge the fluid from the device. Conventionally, when connecting a piping joint having a nipple and a socket to the end of a hose in a factory, the nipple is first inserted into the socket and then a special crimping machine is used to crimp the end of the socket into the annular recess in the end of the nipple to attach it. Next, the end of the hose is inserted into the annular space between the outer peripheral surface of the nipple and the inner peripheral surface of the socket, and the socket is crimped using a crimping machine to integrate the end of the hose with the socket and nipple. [0003] [Patent Document 1] JP 2003-278975 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0004] Therefore, with conventional piping joints, it was necessary to use a special crimping machine to attach the socket to the nipple, which meant that the piping joints could not be manufactured easily and was disadvantageous in terms of improving the efficiency of the work of connecting the piping joint to the hose. Furthermore, if the socket is attached to the nipple in advance, inventory management is required, which is disadvantageous in terms of reducing costs. The present invention has been devised in consideration of the above-mentioned circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to provide a piping fitting which can be easily manufactured by eliminating the need for the work of crimping a socket to a nipple to attach it, thereby eliminating the need to maintain a stock of piping fittings with sockets already attached to nipples, and which further allows the inner and outer diameters of the socket to be reduced, thereby being advantageous in terms of improving the efficiency and reducing the costs of the work of connecting the piping fitting to a hose. [Means for solving the problem]

[0005] In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, one embodiment of the present invention is a piping joint comprising a mouthpiece portion and a hose coupling portion, the hose coupling portion comprising a nipple having a hose insertion portion, and a socket surrounding the periphery of the hose insertion portion, wherein a nipple pressure-welding wall is provided on a nipple outer peripheral surface of an end portion of the nipple on the mouthpiece portion side, the nipple pressure-welding wall protruding radially outwardly from the nipple outer peripheral surface and extending in a circumferential direction of the nipple outer peripheral surface, and a socket pressure-welding wall is provided on a socket inner peripheral surface of an end portion of the socket located on the mouthpiece portion side, the socket pressure-welding wall protruding radially inwardly from the socket inner peripheral surface and extending along the socket inner peripheral surface, and in the circumferential direction of the nipple outer peripheral surface that passes through the nipple pressure-welding wall, The area where the nipple pressure welding wall is removed forms a nipple missing portion which allows the socket pressure welding wall to pass through, and the area where the socket pressure welding wall is removed in the circumferential direction of the socket inner surface which passes through the socket pressure welding wall forms a socket missing portion which allows the nipple pressure welding wall to pass through, and when the nipple pressure welding wall and the socket pressure welding wall are positioned at the same position in the axial direction of the nipple and the socket and the nipple and the socket are rotated relatively around the axis, the nipple pressure welding wall and the socket pressure welding wall are pressed together so as to be immovable in the axial direction of the nipple and the socket and immovable around the axis. In addition, one embodiment of the present invention is characterized in that when the nipple pressure-contact wall and the socket pressure-contact wall are in pressure contact with each other, a locking recess is provided on one of the nipple pressure-contact wall and the socket pressure-contact wall, and a locking protrusion that engages with the locking recess is provided on the other. In addition, one embodiment of the present invention is characterized in that a nipple annular wall is provided on the nipple outer surface near the hose insertion portion of the nipple pressure-welding wall, the nipple annular wall protruding radially outwardly of the nipple outer surface further than the nipple pressure-welding wall and extending circumferentially of the nipple outer surface along the nipple pressure-welding wall, and the socket notch is formed to allow the nipple annular wall to pass through. In one embodiment of the present invention, a socket annular wall is provided at a portion of the socket inner surface at an end of the socket that is closer to the socket inner surface than the socket press-fit wall, the socket annular wall protruding radially inward from the socket inner surface more than the socket press-fit wall and extending along the socket press-fit wall, and the nipple notch is formed to allow passage through the socket annular wall. In one embodiment of the present invention, one of the nipple pressure-welding wall and the socket pressure-welding wall is configured to include a pressure-welding circumferential surface whose distance from the axis gradually changes as it is displaced around the axis, and the other is configured to include a pressure-welded circumferential surface that can be pressure-welded to the pressure-welding circumferential surface. In addition, one embodiment of the present invention is characterized in that at least one of the nipple press-fit wall and the socket press-fit wall is composed of a pair of wall portions facing each other in the axial direction, and the other is composed of a wall portion that is press-fitted between the pair of wall portions. In addition, one embodiment of the present invention is characterized in that the nipple pressure-contact wall and the nipple notch are provided in multiple locations spaced apart in the circumferential direction of the nipple outer peripheral surface, and the socket pressure-contact wall and the socket notch are provided in multiple locations spaced apart in the circumferential direction of the socket inner peripheral surface. Effect of the Invention

[0006] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the nipple pressure-contact wall and the socket pressure-contact wall are pressure-contacted with each other, so that the nipple and the socket are connected to each other so as to be immovable in their axial direction and immovable about their axis. Therefore, there is no longer any need to use a dedicated crimping machine to crimp the end of the socket into the annular recess at the end of the nipple, as was done in the past. The piping joint is constructed by rotating the nipple and socket relatively about their axes and crimping the nipple pressure-welding wall and the socket pressure-welding wall together, which makes it easy to manufacture the piping joint and is advantageous in improving the efficiency of the work of connecting the piping joint to the hose. In addition, since the process of crimping the end of the socket into the annular recess at the end of the nipple to connect the socket to the nipple can be omitted, inventory management which was required in the conventional method of attaching the socket to the nipple in advance is also unnecessary, which is advantageous in reducing the cost of piping fittings. In addition, there is no longer the need to crimp the end of the socket into the annular recess at the end of the nipple as was done in the past, and the socket has a uniform outer diameter when attached to the nipple, which is advantageous in making the socket smaller in diameter and in reducing the weight and cost of the piping fitting. Furthermore, when the nipple pressure-welding wall and the socket pressure-welding wall are in a pressed state, if a locking recess is provided on one of the nipple pressure-welding wall and a locking protrusion that locks into the locking recess is provided on the other, the clicking sensation that occurs when the locking recess and the locking protrusion engage allows the worker to determine that the pressing peripheral surface and the press-welded peripheral surface have been securely pressed together, which is advantageous in increasing the efficiency of the assembly work of the socket to the nipple and in more reliably preventing relative rotation of the nipple and socket around their axes. In addition, providing a nipple annular wall that protrudes radially outward from the nipple outer peripheral surface further than the nipple pressure-welding wall, or providing a socket annular wall that protrudes radially inward from the socket inner peripheral surface further than the socket pressure-welding wall, is advantageous in more reliably preventing movement of the socket away from the nozzle portion, and is more advantageous in preventing the socket from falling off the nipple. The nipple pressure-contact wall and the socket pressure-contact wall may be pressure-contacted in the radial direction of the nipple and the socket, or in the axial direction of the nipple and the socket. Furthermore, providing a plurality of nipple pressure-contact walls, nipple notches, socket pressure-contact walls, and socket notches is advantageous in preventing rotation and linear movement of the socket relative to the nipple in a stable manner. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0008] Next, a first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. As shown in FIG. 14, a piping joint 10 of the first embodiment includes a base portion 12 and a hose joint portion 14, and a fluid passage 16 is formed through the inside of the base portion 12 and the hose joint portion 14. The base portion 12 is configured to include a large diameter portion formed as a hexagonal portion 1202, an annular recess 1204 continuing from the hexagonal portion 1202, an annular protrusion 1206 provided at the end of the annular recess 1204, and a nut 1208 rotatably connected to the annular recess 1204. In addition, the large diameter portion may be formed as a cylindrical surface rather than as a hexagonal portion 1202, and the nozzle portion 12 is not limited to the structure of this embodiment, but may simply be composed of a male thread, or may be composed of a cylindrical body that is brazed to the mating fluid passage 16, or may be composed of a hose coupling portion 14, and various other structures known in the art can be applied.

[0009] The hose coupling portion 14 includes a nipple 18 shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, and a socket 20 shown in FIGS. The nipple 18 is provided coaxially with the base portion 12 . The nipple 18 includes a hose insertion portion 1802 , a nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 , a nipple pressure contact wall 1806 , a nipple notch 1808 , and a nipple annular wall 1810 . Hose insertion portion 1802 is the portion that is inserted into the inside of the hose, and has projections and recesses 1812 on its surface for coupling with the hose. The nipple outer circumferential surface 1804 has the same axis as the hose insertion portion 1802 , and is provided at the end of the hose insertion portion 1802 on the mouthpiece portion 12 side with an outer diameter larger than the outer diameter of the hose insertion portion 1802 . As shown in Figures 4 and 5, the nipple pressure contact wall 1806 is provided at a location near the hexagonal portion 1202 of the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804, protruding radially outward from the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 and extending circumferentially around the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804. The nipple pressure contact wall 1806 includes a pressure contact peripheral surface 1806A whose distance from the axis of the nipple 18 gradually increases as it is displaced around the axis of the nipple 18. A locking recess 1806B is provided in the circumferential center of the pressure contact peripheral surface 1806A. The pressure-welding circumferential surface 1806A is connected to the hexagonal portion 1202, and the side surface of the hexagonal portion 1202 located on the side of the pressure-welding circumferential surface 1806A is formed as a hexagonal portion side surface 1202A.

[0010] As shown in Figures 1 to 3, the nipple annular wall 1810 is provided at a portion of the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 closer to the hose insertion portion 1802 of the nipple pressure-welding wall 1806, and extends circumferentially around the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 along the nipple pressure-welding wall 1806 while protruding radially outward from the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 more than the nipple pressure-welding wall 1806. The side surface of the nipple annular wall 1810 facing the base portion 12 is formed as a nipple annular wall front surface 1810A. In this embodiment, the extending length of the nipple annular wall 1810 is the same as that of the nipple pressure contact wall 1806 , and the nipple annular wall 1810 is provided at the same location as the nipple pressure contact wall 1806 in the circumferential direction of the nipple outer circumferential surface 1804 . The portion of the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 in the circumferential direction passing through the nipple pressure contact wall 1806 excluding the nipple pressure contact wall 1806 forms a nipple notch 1808 that allows the socket pressure contact wall 2004 described below to pass through. The nipple notch 1808 is formed in the nipple outer circumferential surface 1804 . In this embodiment, a plurality of nipple pressure contact walls 1806, nipple annular walls 1810, and nipple notches 1808 are provided at equal intervals in the circumferential direction of nipple outer circumferential surface 1804. In this embodiment, the joint body 22 is formed by the annular recess 1204, the hexagonal portion 1202, the hose insertion portion 1802, the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804, the nipple pressure contact wall 1806, the nipple notch portion 1808, and the nipple annular wall 1810.

[0011] As shown in FIGS. 6 to 8, the socket 20 has a socket body 2002 having a uniform outer diameter, a socket press-contact wall 2004, and a socket notch 2006. As shown in FIG. The socket body 2002 has an inner peripheral surface provided with a projection 2008 for coupling with a hose. A plurality of socket pressure contact walls 2004 are provided at equal intervals in the circumferential direction on the inner circumferential surface of the end portion of the socket 20 located on the base portion 12 side. As shown in Figures 9 and 10, the socket press-fit wall 2004 extends annularly along the inner circumferential surface of the end of the socket 20 while protruding from the inner circumferential surface of the end of the socket 20 to an inner diameter into which the nipple outer circumferential surface 1804 is inserted. As shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, the socket press-connecting wall 2004 has a press-connected peripheral surface 2004A, a socket press-connecting wall front surface 2004B, and a socket press-connecting wall rear surface 2004C. The pressure-welded circumferential surface 2004A is a cylindrical inner circumferential surface of a uniform inner diameter centered on the axis of the socket 20 so as to be capable of being pressure-welded to the pressure-welding circumferential surface 1806A. A locking protrusion 2004D that can be locked in the locking recess 1806B is formed in the center of the extending direction of the pressure-welded circumferential surface 2004A. The socket pressure-connecting wall front surface 2004B is formed by the side surface of the socket pressure-connecting wall 2004 facing toward the nozzle portion 12, and the socket pressure-connecting wall rear surface 2004C is formed by the side surface of the pressure-connecting wall 2004 facing toward the tip of the hose insertion portion 1802. The dimension between the socket press-fit wall front surface 2004B and the socket press-fit wall rear surface 2004C, i.e., the thickness of the socket press-fit wall 2004 along the axial direction of the socket 20, is formed to be dimensionally such that it can be removably inserted between the hexagonal portion side surface 1202A and the nipple annular wall front surface 1810A. Further, in the circumferential direction of the inner circumferential surface of the end portion of the socket 20 passing through the socket press-contact wall 2004 , a portion other than the socket press-contact wall 2004 forms a socket notch 2006 . The socket notch 2006 is formed with a size that allows the nipple annular wall 1810 to be inserted into the socket 20 .

[0012] In this embodiment, the width of the nipple pressure-welding wall 1806 and the nipple annular wall 1810 along the circumferential direction of the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 and the width of the socket pressure-welding wall 2004 along the circumferential direction of the inner peripheral surface of the end of the socket 20 are formed to be approximately the same dimensions. In addition, the width of nipple notch 1808 along the circumferential direction of nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 and the width of socket notch 2006 along the circumferential direction of the inner peripheral surface of the end of socket 20 are also formed to be approximately the same dimension. The widths of the nipple pressure-welding wall 1806 and the nipple annular wall 1810 along the circumferential direction of the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804, the width of the socket pressure-welding wall 2004 along the circumferential direction of the inner peripheral surface of the end of the socket 20, the width of the nipple notch 1808 along the circumferential direction of the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804, and the width of the socket notch 2006 along the circumferential direction of the inner peripheral surface of the end of the socket 20 are all formed to be approximately the same dimensions.

[0013] Next, a method of using the piping joint 10 will be described. First, the joint body 22 on which the nut 1208 shown in Figs. 1 to 3 is rotatably provided, and the socket 20 shown in Figs. 6 to 8 are prepared. Next, the worker inserts the hose insertion portion 1802 of the nipple 18 into the inside of the socket 20, as shown in FIG. 11, and then inserts the multiple nipple annular walls 1810 and the nipple pressure-welding walls 1806 into the inside of the socket 20 from the socket notch 2006, as shown in FIGS. 13, 15, and 16. Then, when the nipple annular wall 1810 passes the socket press-fit wall 2004 in the axial direction of the socket 20, the operator rotates the nipple 18 and the socket 20 relatively, thereby pressing the pressing circumferential surface 1806A and the press-fit circumferential surface 2004A together, as shown in Figures 12, 14, 17, and 18. This relative rotation of the nipple 18 and the socket 20 may be performed by hand or by using a jig. When the entire pressing surface 1806A and the entire pressure-receiving surface 2004A are pressed together, the locking recess 1806B and the locking protrusion 2004D engage, producing a clicking sensation such as resistance or sound, allowing the operator to know that the pressing surface 1806A and the pressure-receiving surface 2004A have been securely pressed together.

[0014] By pressing the pressing circumferential surface 1806A and the pressed circumferential surface 2004A together in this manner, the nipple 18 and the socket 20 are joined together so as to be immovable in their axial direction and immovable about their axial center. In this embodiment, when the pressing surface 1806A and the pressure-contacted surface 2004A are pressed against each other, the locking recess 1806B and the locking protrusion 2004D are engaged with each other, which is advantageous in more reliably preventing relative rotation between the nipple 18 and the socket 20 around their axes. Once the pressing surface 1806A and the pressure-welded surface 2004A have been pressed together in this manner and the nipple 18 and socket 20 have been joined, a hose is inserted into the annular space between the outer peripheral surface of the hose insertion portion 1802 and the inner peripheral surface of the socket 20, and the socket 20 is crimped with a crimping machine to integrally join the hose, socket 20, and nipple 18.

[0015] Therefore, according to pipe fitting 10 of the present embodiment, there is no longer any need to use a dedicated crimping machine to crimp the end of socket 20 into the annular recess at the end of nipple 18, as was done in the conventional case. Pipe fitting 10 is constructed by inserting nipple 18 inside socket 20, rotating nipple 18 and socket 20 relatively about their axes, and crimping circumferential surface 1806A and crimped circumferential surface 2004A together, so that pipe fitting 10 can be easily manufactured, which is advantageous in improving the efficiency of the work of connecting pipe fitting 10 to a hose. In addition, since the process of crimping the end of the socket 20 into the annular recess at the end of the nipple 18 to connect the socket 20 to the nipple 18 can be omitted, inventory management which was required in the conventional method of attaching the socket 20 to the nipple 18 in advance is also unnecessary, which is advantageous in reducing the cost of the piping fitting 10. Furthermore, in conventional piping joints in which the end of the socket 20 is crimped into the annular recess at the end of the nipple 18 to connect the socket 20 to the nipple 18, the inner diameter of the socket 20 on the annular recess side gradually becomes smaller as it approaches the annular recess because the end of the socket 20 is crimped into the annular recess. Therefore, in many cases, the inner and outer diameters of the socket 20 are made larger to allow the end of the hose to fit up to a specified point inside the socket 20. In contrast, in the piping joint 10 of the present embodiment, there is no need to crimp the end of the socket 20 into the annular recess at the end of the nipple 18 as in the conventional case, and the socket 20 has a uniform outer diameter when attached to the nipple 18, which is advantageous in reducing the diameter of the socket 20 and in reducing the weight and cost of the piping joint 10.

[0016] In addition, in this embodiment, a locking recess 1806B is provided on the pressure welding surface 1806A and a locking protrusion 2004D is provided on the pressure-welded surface 2004A. Therefore, the clicking sensation that occurs when the locking recess 1806B and the locking protrusion 2004D engage enables the worker to determine that the pressure welding surface 1806A and the pressure-welded surface 2004A have been securely pressed together, which is advantageous in improving the efficiency of the assembly work of the socket 20 to the fitting body 22. In addition, when the pressing surface 1806A and the pressurized surface 2004A are pressed against each other, the locking recess 1806B and the locking protrusion 2004D are engaged with each other, which is advantageous in more reliably preventing relative rotation between the nipple 18 and the socket 20 around their respective axes and is more advantageous in preventing the socket 20 from falling off the nipple 18.

[0017] In addition, in this embodiment, a nipple annular wall 1810 is provided at a portion of the nipple outer surface 1804 closer to the hose insertion portion 1802 of the nipple pressure-welding wall 1806, which protrudes radially outward from the nipple outer surface 1804 more than the nipple pressure-welding wall 1806 and extends circumferentially around the nipple outer surface 1804 along the nipple pressure-welding wall 1806. Therefore, when the pressing peripheral surface 1806A and the pressurized peripheral surface 2004A are pressed against each other, the nipple annular wall front surface 1810A is positioned on the socket pressing wall rear surface 2004C of the socket pressing wall 2004, which is advantageous in more reliably preventing movement of the socket 20 in the direction away from the base portion 12 and is more advantageous in preventing the socket 20 from falling off the nipple 18.

[0018] In addition, in the present invention, by pressing the pressing surface 1806A and the pressurized surface 2004A together, the nipple 18 and the socket 20 are connected so that they cannot move in the axial direction and cannot rotate around their axis, and therefore it is possible to prevent the socket 20 from falling off the nipple 18. Therefore, the locking recess 1806B, the locking protrusion 2004D, and the nipple annular wall 1810 are not necessary and may be omitted. However, if locking recess 1806B and locking protrusion 2004D, which can be engaged with each other, are provided on the pressing circumferential surface 1806A and the pressurized circumferential surface 2004A, and a nipple annular wall 1810 is provided, and the degree of pressure between the pressing circumferential surface 1806A and the pressurized circumferential surface 2004A is relaxed and the locking recess 1806B and the locking protrusion 2004D engage with each other, the nipple annular wall 1810 prevents the socket 20 from moving in a direction away from the base portion 12, thereby preventing the socket 20 from falling off the nipple 18, and preventing the socket 20 from falling off the nipple 18. Furthermore, by reducing the degree of pressure between the pressing surface 1806A and the pressure-receiving surface 2004A, the worker can easily manually assemble the socket 20 to the nipple 18, which is advantageous in improving the efficiency of the connection work between the piping fitting 10 and the hose. In this case, if the thickness of the socket press-fit wall 2004 along the axial direction of the socket 20 is formed to a dimension that allows it to be removably inserted between the hexagonal portion side surface 1202A and the nipple annular wall front surface 1810A in the axial direction of the socket 20 without any rattling, when the press-fit circumferential surface 1806A and the press-fit circumferential surface 2004A are in press-fit contact, the socket press-fit wall rear surface 2004C and the nipple annular wall front surface 1810A will come into contact or be close to each other, which will be more advantageous in preventing the socket 20 from falling off the nipple 18.

[0019] In this embodiment, the case has been described in which the nipple pressure welding wall 1806 is formed with a pressure welding surface 1806A whose distance from the axis of the nipple 18 gradually increases as it is displaced around the axis of the nipple 18, and the socket pressure welding wall 2004 is formed with a pressure-welded surface 2004A which consists of a cylindrical inner circumferential surface of uniform inner diameter centered on the axis of the socket 20 and can be pressure-welded to the pressure welding surface 1806A. However, it is also possible to form the nipple pressure welding wall 1806 with a pressure-welded surface consisting of a cylindrical outer circumferential surface of uniform inner diameter centered on the axis of the nipple 18, and the socket pressure welding wall 2004 with a pressure welding inner circumferential surface which gradually increases in distance from the axis of the socket 20 as it is displaced around the axis of the socket 20. Alternatively, the nipple pressure contact wall 1806 may be formed with a pressure contact peripheral surface whose distance from the axis of the nipple 18 gradually increases as it is displaced around the axis of the nipple 18, and the socket pressure contact wall 2004 may be formed with a pressure contact inner peripheral surface whose distance from the axis of the socket 20 gradually decreases as it is displaced around the axis of the socket 20.

[0020] Also, in this embodiment, the case where three each of the nipple pressure contact wall 1806, nipple missing portion 1808, socket pressure contact wall 2004, and socket missing portion 2006 are provided has been described, but it is also possible to provide one each of the nipple pressure contact wall 1806, nipple missing portion 1808, socket pressure contact wall 2004, and socket missing portion 2006. However, providing a plurality of nipple pressure contact walls 1806, nipple missing portion 1808, socket pressure contact walls 2004, and socket missing portion 2006 as in the embodiment is advantageous in terms of preventing rotation and linear movement of the socket 20 relative to the nipple 18 in a stable manner. Figure 19(A) shows a case where two nipple pressure-contact walls 1806 and two nipple missing portions 1808 are provided on the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 of the nipple 18, Figure 19(B) shows a case where four nipple pressure-contact walls 1806 and four nipple missing portions 1808 are provided on the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 of the nipple 18, Figure 19(C) shows a case where five nipple pressure-contact walls 1806 and five nipple missing portions 1808 are provided on the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 of the nipple 18, and Figure 19(D) shows a case where six nipple pressure-contact walls 1806 and six nipple missing portions 1808 are provided on the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 of the nipple 18.

[0021] Next, a second embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. In the following description of the embodiment, the same parts and members as those in the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals, and their description will be omitted or simplified, with the focus being on the differences. In the piping joint 10 of the second embodiment, the nipple annular wall 1810 of the first embodiment is omitted, and a socket annular wall 2010 is provided in place of the nipple annular wall 1810. In detail, as shown in FIG. 20 , the nipple pressure contact wall 1820 is provided at the end of the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 facing the hose insertion portion 1802, and extends circumferentially around the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 while protruding radially outward from the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804. The nipple pressure contact wall 1820 is formed to include a pressure contact peripheral surface 1820A whose distance from the axis of the nipple 18 gradually increases as it is displaced around the axis of the nipple 18. A locking recess 1820B is provided in the circumferential center of the pressure contact peripheral surface 1820A. The side surface of the nipple pressure contact wall 1820 facing the base portion 12 is formed as a nipple pressure contact wall front surface 1820C. The portion of the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 in the circumferential direction passing through the nipple pressure contact wall 1820 excluding the nipple pressure contact wall 1820 forms a nipple notch 1822 that allows the socket annular wall 2010 described later to pass through. Nipple notch 1822 is formed in nipple outer circumferential surface 1804 .

[0022] As shown in FIG. 21, a socket annular wall 2010 and a socket press-contact wall 2012 are provided on the inner circumferential surface of the socket 20 at the end on the base portion 12 side. The socket annular wall 2010 extends annularly along the inner circumferential surface of the end of the socket 20 while protruding from the inner circumferential surface of the end of the socket 20 to an inner diameter into which the nipple outer circumferential surface 1804 is inserted. A plurality of socket annular walls 2010 are provided on the inner peripheral surface of the socket 20 at equal intervals in the circumferential direction, and protrude radially inward of the socket 20 beyond the socket press-contact walls 2012 . The socket annular wall front surface 2010A is formed by the side surface of the socket annular wall 2010 facing toward the nozzle portion 12, and the socket annular wall rear surface 2010B is formed by the side surface of the socket annular wall 2010 facing toward the tip of the hose insertion portion 1802. The dimension between the socket annular wall front surface 2010A and the socket annular wall rear surface 2010B, i.e., the thickness of the socket annular wall 2010 along the axial direction of the socket 20, is formed to be dimensionally such that it can be removably inserted between the hexagonal portion side surface 1202A and the nipple pressure contact wall front surface 1820C. The socket press-contact wall 2012 is provided along the socket annular wall rear surface 2010 B of the socket annular wall 2010 , and protrudes from the inner circumferential surface of the socket 20 . The socket annular wall 2010 and the socket press-contact wall 2012 are provided in the same phase and with the same length in the circumferential direction of the inner peripheral surface of the socket 20 .

[0023] The socket pressure-welding wall 2012 has a pressure-welded peripheral surface 2012A facing radially inward of the socket 20. The pressure-welded circumferential surface 2012A is a cylindrical inner circumferential surface having a uniform inner diameter centered on the axis of the socket 20 so as to be capable of being pressure-welded to the pressure-welding circumferential surface 1820A. A locking protrusion 2012B that can be locked in the locking recess 1820B is formed in the center of the extension direction of the pressure-welded circumferential surface 2012A. Further, in the circumferential direction of the inner circumferential surface of the end portion of the socket 20 passing through the socket annular wall 2010 and the socket press-fitting wall 2012 , a portion other than the socket annular wall 2010 and the socket press-fitting wall 2012 forms a socket notch 2014 . The socket notch 2014 is formed with a size that allows the nipple pressure contact wall 1820 to be inserted into the socket 20 .

[0024] Next, a method of using the pipe joint 10 according to the second embodiment will be described. As shown in FIG. 22, the worker inserts the hose insertion portion 1802 of the nipple 18 into the inside of the socket 20, and inserts the multiple nipple pressure-contact walls 1820 into the inside of the socket 20 from the respective socket cutout portions 2014. Then, when the nipple pressure-welding wall 1820 passes the socket annular wall 2010 in the axial direction of the socket 20, the worker rotates the nipple 18 and the socket 20 relatively, thereby pressurizing the pressure-welding circumferential surface 1820A and the pressure-welded circumferential surface 2012A together, as shown in FIG. 23. This relative rotation of the nipple 18 and the socket 20 may be performed by hand or by using a jig. When the entire pressing surface 1820A and the entire pressure-receiving surface 2012A are pressed together, the locking recess 1820B and the locking protrusion 2012B engage, producing a clicking sensation such as resistance or sound, allowing the operator to know that the pressing surface 1820A and the pressure-receiving surface 2012A have been securely pressed together.

[0025] By pressing the pressing circumferential surface 1820A and the pressed circumferential surface 2012A together in this manner, the nipple 18 and the socket 20 are joined together so as to be immovable in their axial direction and immovable about their axial center. In this embodiment, when the pressing surface 1820A and the pressure-contacted surface 2012A are pressed against each other, the locking recess 1820B and the locking protrusion 2012B engage with each other, which is advantageous in more reliably preventing relative rotation between the nipple 18 and the socket 20 around their axes. In the second embodiment, when the pressing peripheral surface 1820A and the pressurized peripheral surface 2012A are pressed against each other, the nipple pressing wall front surface 1820C is positioned on the socket annular wall rear surface 2010B, which is advantageous in more reliably preventing movement of the socket 20 in the direction away from the base portion 12 and is more advantageous in preventing the socket 20 from falling off the nipple 18. Once the pressing surface 1820A and the pressurized surface 2012A have been pressed together in this manner and the nipple 18 and socket 20 have been joined, a hose is inserted into the annular space between the outer peripheral surface of the hose insertion portion 1802 and the inner peripheral surface of the socket 20, and the socket 20 is crimped with a crimping machine to integrally join the hose, socket 20, and nipple 18. The second embodiment as described above also provides the same effects as the first embodiment.

[0026] Next, a third embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. In the piping joint 10 of the first embodiment, the nipple pressure-welding wall 1806 and the socket pressure-welding wall 2004 are pressure-welded in the radial direction of the nipple 18 and the socket 20, but in the piping joint 10 of the third embodiment, the nipple pressure-welding wall 1830 and the socket pressure-welding wall 2020 are pressure-welded in the axial direction of the nipple 18 and the socket 20. In the third embodiment of the piping fitting 10, at least one of the nipple pressure-welding wall 1830 and the socket pressure-welding wall 2020 is formed of a pair of wall portions facing each other in the axial direction of the nipple 18 and the socket 20, and the other is composed of a single wall portion that is press-fitted between the pair of wall portions.

[0027] More specifically, as shown in FIG. 24, the nipple pressure contact wall 1830 is configured on the nipple outer circumferential surface 1804 by a pair of wall portions opposed to each other in the axial direction of the nipple 18. One of the pair of walls is a first nipple pressure contact wall 1832 which is provided at the end of the nipple outer circumferential surface 1804 on the hose insertion portion 1802 side, protruding radially outward from the nipple outer circumferential surface 1804 and extending circumferentially around the nipple outer circumferential surface 1804. A plurality of first nipple pressure contact walls 1832 are provided at equal intervals in the circumferential direction of the nipple outer circumferential surface 1804 . The first nipple pressure contact wall 1832 has a first pressure contact surface 1832A facing the base portion 12 side, and a side surface 1832B facing the hose insertion portion 1802 side. The first pressure contact surface 1832A is formed as an inclined surface whose distance from the side surface 1832B gradually increases in the clockwise circumferential direction of the nipple outer circumferential surface 1804. The portion of the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 in the circumferential direction passing through the first nipple pressure contact wall 1832 excluding the first nipple pressure contact wall 1832 forms a nipple notch 1834 that allows the socket pressure contact wall 2020 described later to pass through. The other of the pair of walls is formed by a hexagonal portion 1202 , and a hexagonal portion side surface 1202 A of the hexagonal portion 1202 facing the hose insertion portion 1802 side constitutes a second pressure contact surface 1836 .

[0028] On the other hand, the socket press-fitting wall 2020 is configured as a wall portion that is press-fitted between the first nipple press-fitting wall 1832 and the hexagonal portion 1202, as shown in FIG. A plurality of socket press-fit walls 2020 are provided at equal intervals in the circumferential direction on the inner circumferential surface of the end of the socket 20 located on the base portion 12 side. The socket pressure contact wall 2020 extends annularly along the inner peripheral surface of the end of the socket 20 while protruding from the inner peripheral surface of the end of the socket 20 with an inner diameter into which the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 is inserted. A plurality of socket press-fit walls 2020 are provided at equal intervals in the circumferential direction on the inner peripheral surface of the end portion of the socket 20 . The socket press-fitting wall 2020 has a socket press-fitting wall front surface 2020A and a socket press-fitting wall rear surface 2020B. The socket press-connecting wall front surface 2020A is formed by the surface of the socket press-connecting wall 2020 facing in the base direction. The socket press-fit wall rear surface 2020B is formed by the surface of the socket press-fit wall 2020 facing toward the tip end of the hose insertion portion 1802. The socket press-connecting wall rear surface 2020B is formed as an inclined surface whose distance from the socket press-connecting wall front surface 2020A gradually decreases as it approaches the inner circumferential surface of the socket 20 in the clockwise circumferential direction. Further, in the circumferential direction of the inner circumferential surface of the end portion of the socket 20 passing through the socket press-contact wall 2020 , a portion other than the socket press-contact wall 2020 forms a socket notch 2022 . The socket cutout portion 2022 is formed with a size that allows the first nipple pressure contact wall 1832 to be inserted into the socket 20 .

[0029] Next, a method of using the pipe joint 10 according to the third embodiment will be described. As shown in FIG. 26, the worker inserts the hose insertion portion 1802 of the nipple 18 into the inside of the socket 20, and inserts the first nipple pressure contact walls 1832 into the inside of the socket 20 from the socket cutout portions 2022, respectively. Then, when the first nipple press-fitting wall 1832 passes the socket press-fitting wall 2020 in the axial direction of the socket 20, the operator rotates the socket 20 counterclockwise relative to the nipple 18, and as shown in Fig. 27, the first press-fitting surface 1832A and the socket press-fitting wall rear surface 2020B are pressed against each other, and the second press-fitting surface 1836 and the socket press-fitting wall front surface 2020A are pressed against each other. That is, the socket press-fitting wall 2020 is pressed between the first nipple press-fitting wall 1832 and the hexagonal portion 1202. As a result, the socket press-fitting wall 2020 is sandwiched and fixed between the first nipple press-fitting wall 1832 and the hexagonal portion 1202. This rotation of the socket 20 relative to the nipple 18 may be accomplished by hand or with the use of a jig.

[0030] In this manner, the socket press-fit wall 2020 is clamped and fixed between the first nipple press-fit wall 1832 and the hexagonal portion 1202, so that the nipple 18 and the socket 20 are joined together so as not to be able to move in their axial direction and not to be able to rotate around their axis. This is advantageous in that it is possible to more reliably prevent the socket 20 from moving in the direction away from the base portion 12, and is advantageous in that it is possible to prevent the socket 20 from falling off the nipple 18. Once the nipple 18 and socket 20 have been joined in this manner, a hose is inserted into the annular space between the outer peripheral surface of the hose insertion portion 1802 and the inner peripheral surface of the socket 20, and the socket 20 is crimped with a crimping machine to integrally join the hose, socket 20, and nipple 18. The third embodiment as described above also provides the same effects as the first embodiment.

[0031] Next, a fourth embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. The piping joint 10 of the fourth embodiment is a modified example of the piping joint 10 of the third embodiment, and while in the piping joint 10 of the third embodiment the socket press-fit wall 2020 is clamped and fixed between a pair of walls on the nipple 18 side, in the piping joint 10 of the fourth embodiment the nipple press-fit wall 1840 is clamped and fixed between a pair of walls on the socket 20 side.

[0032] In detail, as shown in FIG. 28 , the nipple pressure contact wall 1840 is provided at the middle portion of the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 in the axial direction of the nipple 18, protruding radially outward from the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 and extending circumferentially around the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804. A plurality of nipple pressure contact walls 1840 are provided at equal intervals in the circumferential direction of the nipple outer circumferential surface 1804 . The nipple pressure-contacting wall 1840 has a nipple pressure-contacting wall front surface 1840A facing the ferrule portion 12 side, and a nipple pressure-contacting wall rear surface 1840B facing the hose insertion portion 1802 side. The nipple pressure-contacting wall front surface 1840A and the nipple pressure-contacting wall rear surface 1840B are each formed of an inclined surface that gradually approaches the outer circumferential surface 1804 of the nipple in the counterclockwise circumferential direction. Therefore, the nipple pressure contact wall 1840 is formed so that the thickness along the axial direction of the nipple 18 gradually decreases toward the counterclockwise circumferential direction of the nipple outer circumferential surface 1804 . The portion of the nipple outer peripheral surface 1804 circumferentially passing through the nipple pressure contact wall 1840 excluding the nipple pressure contact wall 1840 forms a nipple notch 1842 which allows the socket pressure contact wall 2030 described later to pass through.

[0033] In contrast, the socket press-fit wall 2030 is composed of a pair of walls, a first socket press-fit wall 2032 and a second socket press-fit wall 2034, which face each other in the axial direction of the socket 20, on the inner circumferential surface of the end of the socket 20, as shown in FIG. The first socket press-fit wall 2032 is provided on the inner circumferential surface of the end of the socket 20, and the second socket press-fit wall 2034 is provided on the inner circumferential surface of the socket 20 away from the first socket press-fit wall 2032 in the axial direction of the socket 20. The first socket press-fit wall 2032 and the second socket press-fit wall 2034 extend circumferentially around the inner periphery of the socket 20 while protruding radially inward from the inner periphery of the socket 20 at a height where the nipple outer periphery 1804 is inserted. A plurality of first socket press-fitting walls 2032 and a plurality of second socket press-fitting walls 2034 are provided on the inner peripheral surface of the socket 20 at equal intervals in the circumferential direction. The first socket press-contact wall 2032 has a first socket press-contact surface 2032A facing the second socket press-contact wall 2034, and the second socket press-contact wall 2034 has a second socket press-contact surface 2034A facing the first socket press-contact surface 2032A. The first socket pressure contact surface 2032A and the second socket pressure contact surface 2034A are formed as inclined surfaces whose distance between them gradually increases as they approach the clockwise circumferential direction of the inner peripheral surface of the socket 20, and the first socket pressure contact surface 2032A and the second socket pressure contact surface 2034A are formed so that they can be pressed against the nipple pressure contact wall front surface 1840A and the nipple pressure contact wall rear surface 1840B; in other words, they are formed so that the nipple pressure contact wall 1840 is pressed in, clamped and fixed. In the circumferential direction of the inner surface of the socket 20 passing through the first socket press-fit wall 2032 and the second socket press-fit wall 2034, the area excluding the first socket press-fit wall 2032 and the second socket press-fit wall 2034 forms a socket notch 2036 that allows the nipple press-fit wall 1840 to pass through.

[0034] Next, a method of using the pipe joint 10 according to the fourth embodiment will be described. As shown in FIG. 30, the worker inserts the hose insertion portion 1802 (see FIG. 28) of the nipple 18 into the inside of the socket 20, and inserts the nipple pressure contact wall 1840 into the inside of the socket 20 from the socket notch 2036. Then, when the nipple pressure-contacting wall 1840 passes the first socket pressure-contacting wall 2032 in the axial direction of the socket 20, the operator rotates the socket 20 clockwise relative to the nipple 18, so that the nipple pressure-contacting wall front surface 1840A and the first socket pressure-contacting surface 2032A are brought into pressure contact with each other, and the nipple pressure-contacting wall rear surface 1840B and the second socket pressure-contacting surface 2034A are brought into pressure contact with each other. In other words, the nipple pressure-contacting wall 1840 is press-fitted between the first socket pressure-contacting wall 2032 and the second socket pressure-contacting wall 2034. As a result, the nipple pressure-contacting wall 1840 is sandwiched and fixed between the first nipple pressure-contacting wall 1832 and the second socket pressure-contacting wall 2034. This rotation of the socket 20 relative to the nipple 18 may be accomplished by hand or with the use of a jig.

[0035] In this manner, the nipple pressure contact wall 1840 is clamped and fixed between the first socket pressure contact wall 2032 and the second socket pressure contact wall 2034, so that the nipple 18 and the socket 20 are connected together so as not to be movable in their axial direction and not to be rotatable around their axis. This is advantageous in reliably preventing the socket 20 from moving in a direction away from the base portion 12, and is advantageous in preventing the socket 20 from falling off the nipple 18. The fourth embodiment as described above also provides the same effects as the first embodiment.

[0036] In addition, the piping fitting 10 may be distributed on the market in a separate form without the fitting body 22 and the socket 20 being assembled, and the piping fitting 10 may be distributed on the market in a form in which the fitting body 22 and the socket 20 are assembled.
