Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present application relates to the field of communications, and more particularly to a data transmission method and a communication device. [Background technology]

[0002] This application claims priority to Chinese Patent Application No. 202110701156.2, entitled “DATA TRANSMISSION METHOD AND COMMUNICATION APPARATUS,” filed with the China State Intellectual Property Office on June 23, 2021, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.

[0003] In recent years, with the continuous advancement and improvement of extended reality (XR) technology, related industries have been vigorously developed. Today, extended reality technology has been applied to various fields closely related to people's production and life, such as education, entertainment, military, medical care, environmental protection, transportation, and public health. XR is a general term for various reality-related technologies, specifically including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), etc.

[0004] XR video includes video frames that arrive periodically. The transmission process of XR video may be as follows: An image frame of XR video is divided into tens of internet protocol (IP) data packets in the network transport layer, and the IP data packets are transmitted to the core network. The IP data packets are then transmitted to the terminal through a radio access network (RAN). Due to the uncertainty of network transmission, there may be problems such as frame transmission errors and frame transmission delays. This affects the user experience.

[0005] However, because different terminals measure user experience in different ways, network devices cannot accurately adjust communication behavior based on the user experience, resulting in low system efficiency and poor user experience. Summary of the Invention

[0006] The present application provides a data transmission method and a communication device, for enabling a network device to precisely adjust the behavior of communication between the network device and a terminal based on the user experience fed back by the terminal, which improves the user experience.

[0007] According to a first aspect, the present application provides a data transmission method. The method may be performed by a network device, or may be performed by a component (such as a chip or chip system) disposed in the network device. Alternatively, the method may be implemented by a logic module or software that can implement all or part of the functions of the network device. This is not limited in the present application.

[0008] The method includes the steps of sending first information to a terminal, the first information being used to set an evaluation mode of a user experience, the evaluation mode of the user experience being one of a plurality of evaluation modes of the user experience, the evaluation mode of the user experience being used to evaluate an impact of network transmission on the user experience; receiving second information from the terminal, the second information including information regarding the impact of network transmission on the user experience; and communicating with the terminal based on the second information.

[0009] According to the aforementioned technical solution, the network device may set an evaluation mode of user experience for the terminal, which is used to determine the impact of the network transmission status on the user experience, by using the first information. In this way, the terminal may obtain information on the impact of the network transmission status on the user experience based on the evaluation mode of the user experience set by the network device. The network device sets the evaluation mode of the user experience for the terminal. Therefore, the manner for measuring the user experience by each of the terminals is controllable. Therefore, the network device may accurately adjust the behavior of the communication between the network device and the terminal based on the impact of the network transmission on the user experience fed back by the terminal. In this way, the system efficiency and the user experience are improved.

[0010] According to the first aspect, in some possible implementations, the first information is further used to set parameters of an evaluation mode of the user experience.

[0011] In the above implementation, the terminal may pre-store multiple evaluation modes of the user experience including the parameters to be determined.

[0012] The network device sends first information to the terminal, sets an evaluation mode of a user experience including the parameter to be determined for the terminal, and sets the parameter of the evaluation mode of the user experience. The network device can set different parameters for different terminals according to different service requirements of different terminals to meet different requirements of different terminals and provide a good experience for the user.

[0013] According to the first aspect, in some possible implementations, the method further includes a step of sending third information to the terminal, the third information being used to set parameters of an evaluation mode of the user experience.

[0014] In the above implementation, the terminal may alternatively pre-store multiple evaluation modes of the user experience including the parameters to be determined.

[0015] The network device sends first information to the terminal, sets an evaluation mode of a user experience including the parameter to be determined for the terminal, and sends third information to the terminal, and sets the parameter of the evaluation mode of the set user experience for the terminal by using the first information. The network device can set different parameters for different terminals based on different service requirements of different terminals to meet different requirements of different terminals and provide a good experience for the user.

[0016] According to the first aspect, in some possible implementations, the user experience evaluation mode includes an image quality experience evaluation mode and an interactive experience evaluation mode. The image quality experience evaluation mode is used to evaluate the impact of a transmission error on the image quality experience. The interactive experience evaluation mode is used to evaluate the impact of a transmission delay on the interactive experience.

[0017] The effect of transmission errors on image quality experience can be obtained by using an image quality experience mode, and the effect of transmission delays on interactive experience can be obtained by using an interactive experience mode. If the evaluation score of the user experience does not reach the target evaluation score, it can be better determined that the evaluation score of the user experience is affected by transmission errors, transmission delays, or both transmission errors and transmission delays. The behavior of the communication between the network device and the terminal can be adjusted appropriately, which improves the user experience.

[0018] According to the first aspect, in some possible implementations, the information about the impact of network transmission on the user experience includes image quality experience rating information and interactive experience rating information. The image quality experience rating mode is used to determine the image quality experience rating information. The interactive experience rating mode is used to determine the interactive experience rating information.

[0019] The image quality experience evaluation information indicates a coefficient or evaluation score of an impact of a transmission error on the image quality experience, and the interactive experience evaluation information indicates a coefficient or evaluation score of an impact of a transmission delay on the interactive experience.

[0020] The network device may receive the evaluation score of the image quality experience fed back by the terminal, or the coefficient of the impact of the transmission error on the image quality experience fed back by the terminal, and the evaluation score of the interactive experience fed back by the terminal, or the coefficient of the impact of the transmission delay on the interactive experience fed back by the terminal. In this way, when the evaluation score of the image quality experience does not reach the target evaluation score of the image quality experience and / or when the evaluation score of the interactive experience does not reach the target evaluation score of the interactive experience, the behavior of the communication between the network device and the terminal may be appropriately adjusted, which improves the user experience.

[0021] According to the first aspect, in some possible implementations, the information about the impact of network transmission on the user experience indicates an evaluation score of the extended reality quality. The evaluation mode of the image quality experience and the evaluation mode of the interactive experience are used to determine the evaluation score of the extended reality quality.

[0022] The network device may receive an evaluation score of the extended reality quality fed back by the terminal. The evaluation score of the extended reality quality may be obtained through a combination of the evaluation score of the image quality experience obtained by the terminal based on the evaluation mode of the image quality experience and the evaluation score of the interactive experience obtained by the terminal based on the interactive experience mode. In this way, when the evaluation score of the extended reality quality does not reach the target evaluation score of the extended reality quality, the behavior of the communication between the network device and the terminal may be appropriately adjusted, which improves the user experience.

[0023] According to a first aspect, in some possible implementations, communicating with the terminal based on the second information includes determining a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) to be used for communicating with the terminal based on the second information and a channel quality indicator (CQI), and communicating with the terminal based on the MCS.

[0024] The network device may determine a current MCS based on the CQI-MCS mapping relationship, adjust the MCS based on the second information, and communicate with the terminal based on the adjusted MCS, which may provide a better experience for the user.

[0025] According to a second aspect, the present application provides a data transmission method. The method may be performed by a terminal, or may be performed by a component (such as a chip or chip system) disposed in the terminal. Alternatively, the method may be implemented by a logic module or software that can implement all or part of the functions of the terminal. This is not limited in the present application.

[0026] The method includes steps of receiving first information from the network device, determining an evaluation mode of the user experience based on the first information, where the evaluation mode of the user experience is one of a plurality of evaluation modes of the user experience, and the evaluation mode of the user experience is used to evaluate an impact of network transmissions on the user experience, and sending second information to the network device, where the second information includes information regarding the impact of network transmissions on the user experience.

[0027] According to the above technical solution, the terminal can receive first information from the network device, determine an evaluation mode of user experience based on the first information, and send second information to the network device, the second information including information about the impact of network transmission on the user experience. In this way, the network device can adjust the behavior of communication between the network device and the terminal in a timely manner based on the second information, which improves the user experience.

[0028] According to the second aspect, in some possible implementations, the method further includes determining an impact of the network transmission on the user experience based on an evaluation mode of the user experience.

[0029] According to the second aspect, in some possible implementations, the method further includes determining parameters of an evaluation mode of the user experience based on the first information.

[0030] In the above implementation, the terminal may pre-store multiple evaluation modes of the user experience including the parameters to be determined.

[0031] The terminal receives first information from the network device. The terminal determines an evaluation mode of a user experience including a parameter to be determined and a parameter of the evaluation mode of the user experience according to the first information. Different terminals may have different service requirements. Therefore, different terminals may obtain different parameters to meet the service requirements of the terminal and provide a good experience for the user.

[0032] According to the second aspect, in some possible implementations, the method further includes receiving third information from the network device and determining parameters of an evaluation mode of the user experience based on the third information.

[0033] In the above implementation, the terminal may alternatively pre-store multiple evaluation modes of the user experience including the parameters to be determined.

[0034] The terminal receives first information from the network device. The terminal determines, based on the first information, an evaluation mode of a user experience including a parameter to be determined. The terminal receives third information from the network device. The terminal determines, based on the third information, a parameter of the evaluation mode of the user experience including the parameter to be determined and determined based on the first information. Different terminals may have different service requirements. Therefore, different terminals may obtain different parameters to meet the service requirements of the terminal and provide a good experience for the user.

[0035] According to a second aspect, in some possible implementations, the method further includes determining an impact of network transmission on the user experience based on an evaluation mode of the user experience and parameters of the evaluation mode of the user experience.

[0036] According to the second aspect, in some possible implementations, the user experience evaluation mode includes an image quality experience evaluation mode and an interactive experience evaluation mode. The image quality experience evaluation mode is used to evaluate the impact of a transmission error on the image quality experience. The interactive experience evaluation mode is used to evaluate the impact of a transmission delay on the interactive experience.

[0037] The terminal may obtain the impact of transmission errors on the image quality experience by using the image quality experience mode, and may obtain the impact of transmission delays on the interactive experience by using the interactive experience mode. If the evaluation score of the user experience does not reach the target evaluation score, it may be better determined that the evaluation score of the user experience is affected by the transmission errors, the transmission delays, or both the transmission errors and the transmission delays. In this way, the network device may appropriately adjust the behavior of the communication between the network device and the terminal based on the feedback information from the terminal. This improves the user experience.

[0038] According to a second aspect, in some possible implementations, the information about the impact of network transmission on the user experience includes evaluation information of the image quality experience and evaluation information of the interactive experience. The method further includes determining the evaluation information of the image quality experience based on an evaluation mode of the image quality experience, and determining the evaluation information of the interactive experience based on an evaluation mode of the interactive experience.

[0039] The image quality experience evaluation information indicates a coefficient or evaluation score of an impact of a transmission error on the image quality experience, and the interactive experience evaluation information indicates a coefficient or evaluation score of an impact of a transmission delay on the interactive experience.

[0040] The terminal may feed back the evaluation score of the image quality experience or the coefficient of the impact of the transmission error on the image quality experience and the evaluation score of the interactive experience or the coefficient of the impact of the transmission delay on the interactive experience to the network device. In this way, if the evaluation score of the image quality experience does not reach the target evaluation score of the image quality experience and / or if the evaluation score of the interactive experience does not reach the target evaluation score of the interactive experience, the network device may appropriately adjust the behavior of the communication between the network device and the terminal, which improves the user experience.

[0041] According to a second aspect, in some possible implementations, the information about the impact of network transmission on the user experience indicates an assessment score of the extended reality quality. The method further includes determining the assessment score of the extended reality quality based on an assessment mode of the image quality experience and an assessment mode of the interactive experience.

[0042] The terminal may feed back the evaluation score of the extended reality quality to the network device.

[0043] According to the second aspect, in some possible implementations, the method further includes receiving fourth information from the network device, the fourth information indicating an MCS, the MCS being related to the second information and the CQI.

[0044] The CQI may be reported by the terminal to the network device. In this manner, the network device may determine a current MCS based on the CQI-MCS mapping relationship and adjust the MCS based on the second information. The terminal may receive fourth information indicating the adjusted MCS and sent by the network device, and communicate with the network device based on the fourth information. This may provide a better experience for the user.

In this case, the first information, the third information, or the fourth information sent by the Wi-Fi router or the Wi-Fi AP can be sent directly to the terminal. The following will describe the first information, the third information, or the fourth information in detail. The details will not be described here. It should be further understood that in the communication system 200, the specific forms of the network device and the terminal are not limited. The communication system 200 and the above-mentioned data transmission process are merely examples and shall not constitute any limitation on the present application.

[0078] FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram of XR video transmission. The XR video transmission shown in FIG. 3 may be, for example, a schematic diagram of transmission in the communication system 100 shown in FIG. 1. The XR video may include multiple video frames. The XR video may be sent, for example, by a cloud server in FIG. 1. In other words, the cloud server may be the transmitting end of the XR video. Correspondingly, the receiving end of the XR video may be the terminal in FIG. 1. In FIG. 3, an image frame of the XR video may be divided into tens of IP data packets in the network transport layer of the transmitting end, and the data packets are transmitted to the core network. Then, the IP data packets are transmitted to the receiving end through the RAN. It should be understood that the XR video transmission process shown in FIG. 3 is merely an example and does not constitute any limitation to the present application.

[0079] Due to the uncertainty of network transmission, there may be problems such as frame transmission errors or frame transmission delays, which affect the user experience. However, since different terminals measure the user experience in different ways, the network device cannot accurately adjust the communication behavior based on the user experience. As a result, the system efficiency is low and the user experience is poor.

[0080] Therefore, the present application provides a data transmission method. The network device may set an evaluation mode of a user experience used to determine the influence of a network transmission status on a user experience for a terminal by using first information. The terminal may obtain information on the influence of the network transmission status on the user experience based on the evaluation mode of the user experience set by the network device. In this way, the network device may accurately adjust the behavior of the communication between the network device and the terminal based on the user experience fed back by the terminal. This improves the user experience.

[0081] In order to better understand the data transmission method provided in the embodiments of the present application, the terms in this application are first briefly explained.

[0082] 1. Frame transmission error: Also called a frame error, during frame transmission The error that occurs is If an error occurs in a data packet contained in a video frame during transmission, the image frame cannot be correctly decoded as a whole.

[0083] 2. Frame transmission delay: the delay that occurs during frame transmission. For example, the arrival time of each first packet of a frame is represented as t1, and the arrival time of the last packet is represented as t2. In this case, T=t2-t1 can be used to measure the delay of a frame during the network-side transmission. If the delay exceeds the sum of the maximum frame delay budget (FDB) of the frame and the delay of the terminal buffering capability, frame skipping occurs. In other words, a frame at a given reference position does not arrive.

[0084] FIG. 4 is a schematic diagram of a frame transmission process. FIG. 4 shows the arrival status of six video frames. Each of the video frames may include multiple IP data packets, and each rectangular box in the figure may represent one IP data packet. From the figure, it can be seen that a transmission error occurs in the IP data packet of the second frame. As a result, the second frame has a transmission error. A transmission error occurs in the IP data packet of the fourth frame. As a result, the fourth frame has a transmission error. Furthermore, the IP data packet of the fourth frame does not reach the processing for displaying the time. As a result, the transmission of the fourth frame is delayed. Similarly, the IP data packet of the fifth frame does not reach the processing for displaying the time. As a result, the transmission of the fifth frame is delayed.

[0085] 3. Mean Opinion Score (MOS): A commonly accepted subjective measurement of audio and video quality. MOS can be used to obtain an actual hearing / visual quality score.

[0086] Figure 5 is a schematic decomposition map of XR-MOS. As shown in Figure 5, XR-MOS can be obtained from three perspectives, namely, video source, network transmission, and terminal. The network transmission can include two parts, namely, access network transmission and core network transmission.

[0087] In a possible implementation, the XR-MOS can be obtained through the simplest linear superposition on three parts: the video source-MOS, the network transmit-MOS, and the terminal-MOS, for example, XR-MOS=video source-MOS+network transmit-MOS+terminal-MOS.

[0088] The cloud server may define a video source-MOS. Factors that affect the video source-MOS include image quality, frame rate, resolution, audio quality, etc. The network device may define a network transmission-MOS. Factors that affect the network transmission-MOS include network side transmission capabilities, packet These include packet delay budget (PDB), packet error rate (PER), etc. A terminal may define a terminal-MOS. Factors that affect terminal-MOS include the field of view (FOV) supported by the terminal, the terminal's refresh rate, battery life, wearing comfort, buffering capabilities, etc.

[0089] It should be understood that the schematic decomposition map of XR-MOS shown in FIG. 5 is merely an example and is not intended to constitute any limitation to the present application.

[0090] 4. Evaluation score of extended reality quality: It may also be referred to as extended reality quality index (XQI). XQI is provided in this application to evaluate the impact of network transmission on user experience. The basic principle of the evaluation score of extended reality quality is that, on the network transmission side, the statistical data and signal source and / or related information on the terminal side that can be obtained during the network transmission period are used as much as possible to approximate the subjective experience evaluation of the user on the XR service. In other words, the network transmission-MOS is a subjective evaluation value from a person, and the network transmission-MOS cannot be obtained directly. Therefore, it is assumed that the XQI is proposed when the video source-MOS and the terminal-MOS are known. In this way, some statistical data on the network side is obtained, so that the XQI obtained through calculation is better matched with the network transmission-MOS.

[0091] The XQI may include two parts, namely, an image quality experience evaluation score and an interactive experience evaluation score. In other words, a user experience XQI value may be obtained by combining the image quality experience evaluation score and the interactive experience evaluation score. The image quality experience evaluation score is mainly related to network transmission statistics, such as packet error status, transport block (TB) error status, frame rate, group of pictures (GOP) size, and other signal source related parameters. The interactive experience evaluation score is mainly related to network transmission statistics, such as packet arrival status, packet delay, frame rate, GOP, terminal buffering capability, and other signal source related or terminal related parameters.

[0092] The XQI may be defined in multiple different forms. For example, the XQI may be defined in different forms, such as a formula, a neural network, or a table. It may also be understood that there may be multiple different modes for obtaining the XQI value. Corresponding to the aforementioned forms, the mode may be a formula mode, a neural network mode, a table mode, etc. The modes may be collectively referred to as an evaluation mode of the user experience. It should be understood that the evaluation mode of the user experience is not limited to the aforementioned formula mode, neural network mode, and table mode, and the evaluation mode of the user experience may alternatively be in another form. This is not limited in the present application.

[0093] For example, if the evaluation mode of the user experience is a formula mode, the calculation formula for XQI may be XQI=XQI1+XQI2.

[0094] XQI1 may represent an image quality experience evaluation score. For example, the formula for XQI1 is:

[0095]

number

[0096] α represents a calculation coefficient. FR represents the frame rate of the video frame, i.e., the amount of data of the video frame displayed per second. For example, the number of frames transmitted per second (frames per second, FPS) is 60. R ave represents the frame damage rate in each GOP, and the average frame damage rate of all GOPs in the statistical period. The calculation formula for the frame damage rate in a GOP is:

[0097]

number

[0098] N may represent the size of the GOP, and i may represent the position of the first frame having a transmission error in the current GOP.

[0099] The XQI2 may represent an evaluation score of an interactive experience. For example, the formula for the XQI2 is:

[0100]

number

[0101] β represents a calculation factor; FR represents the frame rate of the video frame; Q ave represents the average frame skipping rate of all GOPs in the statistical period. The calculation formula for the frame skipping rate in a GOP is:

[0102]

number

[0103] M may represent the number of skipped frames in a GOP; N represents the size of a GOP; T represents an N-dimensional vector, whose elements represent the delay caused by network transmission of video frames in a GOP.

[0104] In other words, the calculation formula for XQI may be as follows:

[0105]

number

[0106] XQI, XQI1, XQI2, R ave , Q ave It should be understood that the above calculation formulas for etc. are merely examples and are not intended to constitute any limitation to the present application.

[0107] For example, when the evaluation mode of user experience is a neural network mode, the frame arrival status after network transmission and the corresponding evaluation score status (for example, in the form of evaluation scores from experts) of some typical video sets may be used as a training set to obtain a neural network based on the frame arrival status, in other words, a neural network for obtaining an XQI value by combining the frame transmission error status and the image transmission delay status. For example, FIG. 6 is a schematic diagram of a neural network constructed for XQI based on the frame arrival status. In the figure, C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, and C6 represent weights, and f1(e), f2(e), f3(e), f4(e), f5(e), and f6(e) represent neurons. It should be understood that a neuron is a node in a neural network, and each of the nodes may represent a specific output function.

[0108] Of course, the corresponding neural network modes may alternatively be constructed based on frame transmission error conditions and frame transmission delay conditions, respectively. For example, FIG. 7 is a schematic diagram of a neural network constructed for XQI1 based on frame transmission error conditions. In the figure, XQI1 may represent the evaluation score of the image quality experience, and C7, C8, C9, C 10 , C 11 , and C 12 represents weights, and g1(e), g2(e), g3(e), g4(e), g5(e), and g6(e) represent neurons. As another example, FIG. 8 is a schematic diagram of a neural network constructed for XQI2 based on frame transmission delay conditions. In the figure, XQI2 may represent an evaluation score of an interactive experience, and C 13 , C 14 , C 15 , C 16 , C 17 , and C 18 represents weights, and h1(e), h2(e), h3(e), h4(e), h5(e), and h6(e) represent neurons.

[0109] It should be understood that the weights and neurons in the schematic diagrams of neural networks shown in Figures 6, 7, and 8 are independent of each other and may be the same or different. This is not a limitation in the present application. It should be further understood that the schematic diagrams of neural networks in Figures 6, 7, and 8 are merely examples and shall not constitute any limitation to the present application. For example, in an actual implementation, there may be more or fewer neurons. This is also not a limitation in the present application.

[0110] For example, when the evaluation mode of the user experience is the table mode, the frame transmission error status and the frame transmission delay status are taken into consideration comprehensively. In other words, the XQI value depends on the frame transmission error status and the frame transmission delay status.

[0111] For example, Table 1 shows the correspondence between XQI values, frame transmission error status, and frame transmission delay status.

[0112] [Table 1]

[0113] In Table 1, PER is used to approximately represent a frame transmission error situation, and PDB is used to approximately represent a frame transmission delay situation. In Table 1, the first row may represent different values of PDB, the first column may represent different values of PER, and the second row to the third row may represent different values of PER. 9 The row and the second to sixth columns may represent XQI values when different PER values correspond to different PDB values. For example, if the PDB is "5 milliseconds (ms)" and the PER is "0.03", it can be directly seen from the table that the XQI value is "82".

[0114] It should be understood that the format shown in Table 1 used to represent the correspondence between PER, PDB, and XQI is merely an example, and other formats than this table may be used to represent the correspondence. It should be further understood that the corresponding values of PER, PDB, and XQI in the table are also merely an example, and are not intended to constitute any limitation on the present application.

[0115] 5. Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS): The MCS is a rate table in which the relevant factors that affect the communication rate are used as the columns of the table and the MCS index is used as the rows. Thus, each MCS index corresponds to a physical transmission rate based on a group of parameters. For example, Table 2 shows the possible correspondences between different MCS indexes, modulation orders, target code rates, and spectral efficiencies.

[0116] [Table 2-1]

[0117] [Table 2-2]

[0118] 6. Channel Quality Indicator (CQI): The CQI can indicate the current channel quality. The CQI corresponds to the signal-to-noise ratio of the channel. The value range of the CQI is from 0 to 31. When the CQI value is 0, the channel quality is the worst. When the CQI value is 31, the channel quality is the best. In general, the common value range of the CQI is from 12 to 24. The CQI value can be reported by the terminal to the network device. For example, Table 3 shows possible correspondences between different CQI values, modulation schemes, coding rates, and efficiencies.

[0119] [Table 3]

[0120] In Table 3, different CQI values may correspond to different modulation schemes, coding rates, and efficiencies. Table 3 lists modulation schemes such as "QPSK", "16-QAM", and "64-QAM" as examples. "QPSK" stands for quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK), and "QAM" stands for quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM).

[0121] The following describes in detail the data transmission method provided in this embodiment of the present application with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0122] For ease of understanding, the following explanation is provided.

[0123] "First", "second", "third", etc. are merely intended to distinguish between different objects and are not to constitute any limitation. For example, first information, second information, third information, and fourth information do not necessarily limit the transmission sequence, but indicate different content contained within the information.

[0124] Figure 9 is a schematic flowchart of a data transmission method 1000 according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 9, the method 1000 may include steps 1010 to 1040. The following describes the steps in the method 1000 in detail.

[0125] In step 1010, the network device sends first information to the terminal. Correspondingly, the terminal receives the first information from the network device.

[0126] The first information is used to set an evaluation mode of the user experience, the evaluation mode of the user experience being one of a plurality of evaluation modes of the user experience, and the evaluation mode of the user experience is used to evaluate an impact of the network transmission on the user experience.

[0127] As explained above, the XQI is used to evaluate the impact of network transmission on user experience. There can be several different modes for obtaining the XQI value, such as formula mode, neural network mode, and table mode.

[0128] Furthermore, as described above, the XQI may include two parts, namely, an image quality experience evaluation score and an interactive experience evaluation score. The user experience evaluation mode includes an image quality experience evaluation mode and an interactive experience evaluation mode. The image quality experience evaluation mode is used to evaluate the impact of transmission errors on the image quality experience. The interactive experience evaluation mode is used to evaluate the impact of transmission delays on the interactive experience.

[0129] In a possible implementation, the terminal may pre-store multiple evaluation modes of the user experience.

[0130] Optionally, the multiple evaluation modes of user experience pre-stored in the terminal may be evaluation modes of user experience in which the impact of transmission errors on image quality experience is integrated with the impact of transmission delays on interactive experience. In other words, multiple evaluation modes of user experience for obtaining XQI values are stored.

[0131] For example, each of a plurality of evaluation modes of a user experience may correspond to one index value, and the evaluation modes of the user experience and the index values may be stored in the terminal in the form of a table.

[0132] For example, Table 4 shows the correspondence between multiple evaluation modes of user experience and indexes.

[0133] [Table 4]

[0134] Of course, the evaluation mode of the image quality experience and the evaluation mode of the interactive experience may alternatively be set separately. For example, Table 5 shows the correspondence between multiple evaluation modes of the image quality experience and indexes. Table 6 shows the correspondence between multiple evaluation modes of the interactive experience and indexes.

[0135] [Table 5]

[0136] [Table 6]

[0137] After the terminal requests an XR service from the network device, the network device may send first information to the terminal through signaling after identifying the XR service request of the terminal. The first information may include an index value corresponding to an evaluation mode of a user experience. In this way, the evaluation mode of the user experience that can be used by the terminal is set.

[0138] Of course, the terminal may alternatively pre-store multiple evaluation modes of user experiences in another format. The format for storing the correspondence between the evaluation modes of user experiences and indexes is not limited to table formats such as Table 4, Table 5, Table 6, etc.

[0139] It should be understood that the coefficients or parameters in the formula mode and the neural network mode in Tables 4, 5, and 6 may be preset specific known values. For example, α and β in the formula may be preset specific values.

[0140] Optionally, the first information may be further used to set parameters of an evaluation mode of the user experience.

[0141] The multiple evaluation modes of the user experience pre-stored in the terminal are evaluation modes of the user experience including the parameter to be determined. do. For example, the formula mode and the neural network mode include a parameter to be determined. In this case, the first information may further include a specific value of the parameter to be determined included in the evaluation mode of the user experience. In other words, the first information may indicate the index of the evaluation mode of the user experience and the specific value of the parameter to be determined included in the evaluation mode of the user experience.

[0142] Optionally, the network device may send third information to the terminal, the third information being used to set parameters of an evaluation mode of the user experience.

[0143] After the terminal requests an XR service from the network device, the network device may send first information to the terminal through signaling after identifying the XR service request of the terminal. The first information may include an evaluation mode of a user experience. In this way, an evaluation mode of a user experience that includes a parameter to be determined and can be used by the terminal is set. The network device may further send third information to the terminal through signaling. The third information may indicate a specific parameter value for the set evaluation mode of the user experience that includes the parameter to be determined. In this way, a parameter of the evaluation mode of a user experience that includes the parameter to be determined and is specified to be used by the terminal is set.

[0144] It should be further understood that the aforementioned bearer signaling of the first information may be radio resource control (RRC) signaling, downlink control information (DCI) or system information block (SIB), and the aforementioned bearer signaling of the third information may be RRC signaling or DCI, which is not limited in the present application.

[0145] In step 1020, the terminal determines an evaluation mode of the user experience based on the first information.

[0146] The terminal may receive first information from the network device and determine an evaluation mode of the user experience based on the first information.

[0147] In a possible implementation, the terminal may pre-store the correspondence between a plurality of evaluation modes of the user experience that does not include the parameter to be determined and the index in the format shown in Table 4. The terminal receives first information from the network device. In this case, the first information may indicate an index corresponding to the evaluation mode of the user experience that does not include the parameter to be determined. Alternatively, the first information includes an index corresponding to the evaluation mode of the user experience that does not include the parameter to be determined. The terminal may determine the evaluation mode of the user experience that does not include the parameter to be determined and that can be used based on the index.

[0148] For example, the first information indicates index 1. In this case, the terminal determines that the evaluation mode of the user experience is the expression mode based on Table 4 pre-stored in the terminal.

[0149]

number

[0150] where particular values of α and β can be determined to be known.

[0151] In another possible implementation, the terminal may pre-store the correspondence between a plurality of evaluation modes of a user experience including the parameter to be determined and an index in the format shown in Table 4. The terminal receives first information from a network device. In this case, the first information may indicate an index corresponding to an evaluation mode of a user experience including the parameter to be determined and a specific value of the parameter to be determined. Alternatively, the first information includes an index corresponding to an evaluation mode of a user experience including the parameter to be determined and a specific value of the parameter to be determined. The terminal may determine an evaluation mode of a user experience that can be used, including the parameter to be determined, based on the index and the specific value of the parameter to be determined. In this implementation, the terminal may determine a parameter of the evaluation mode of the user experience based on the first information.

[0152] For example, the first information indicates index 1. In this case, the terminal determines that the evaluation mode of the user experience is the expression mode based on Table 4 pre-stored in the terminal.

[0153]

number

[0154] where α and β may be determined to be parameters to be determined.

[0155] In yet another possible implementation, the terminal may pre-store the correspondence between a plurality of evaluation modes of a user experience including the parameter to be determined and an index in the format shown in Table 4. The terminal receives first information from the network device. In this case, the first information may indicate an index corresponding to the evaluation mode of the user experience including the parameter to be determined. Alternatively, the first information includes an index corresponding to the evaluation mode of the user experience including the parameter to be determined. The terminal may determine an evaluation mode of the user experience that may be used, including the parameter to be determined, based on the index. In this implementation, the terminal further receives third information from the network device. The third information may include the parameter to be determined and indicate a specific value of the parameter to be determined of the evaluation mode of the user experience determined based on the first information. Alternatively, the third information may include a specific value of the parameter to be determined of the evaluation mode of the user experience determined based on the first information, including the parameter to be determined. The terminal may determine the parameter of the evaluation mode of the user experience based on the third information.

[0156] Optionally, before performing step 1030, the terminal may further determine, based on the evaluation mode of the user experience, an impact of network transmission on the user experience.

[0157] In a possible implementation, the terminal pre-stores the correspondence between multiple evaluation modes of the user experience that does not include the parameter to be determined and the index in the format shown in Table 4. When the terminal receives first information from the network device and determines an evaluation mode of the user experience that does not include the parameter to be determined based on the first information, the terminal determines an impact of network transmission on the user experience based on the evaluation mode of the user experience that does not include the parameter to be determined.

[0158] For example, the first information indicates index 1. In this case, the terminal determines that the evaluation mode of the user experience is the expression mode based on Table 4 pre-stored in the terminal.

[0159]

number

[0160] where the specific values of α and β are known. The terminal may determine the specific values of α and β based on the first information, and calculate the XQI value according to the formula. The obtained XQI value may represent the impact of network transmission on the user experience.

[0161] As another example, the evaluation mode of the user experience determined by the terminal is a neural network mode, i.e., a neural network is constructed for XQI based on frame arrival status. The terminal may obtain an XQI value based on the neural network. The obtained XQI value may represent the impact of network transmission on the user experience.

[0162] Optionally, before performing step 1030, the terminal may further determine an impact of network transmission on the user experience based on the evaluation mode of the user experience and parameters of the evaluation mode of the user experience.

[0163] In a possible implementation, the terminal may pre-store the correspondence between multiple evaluation modes of the user experience including the parameter to be determined and the index in the format shown in Table 4. When the terminal receives first information from the network device and determines, based on the first information, the evaluation mode of the user experience including the parameter to be determined and the parameters of the evaluation mode of the user experience, the terminal applies the parameter value to the evaluation mode of the user experience including the parameter to be determined, and determines an impact of network transmission on the user experience based on the evaluation mode of the user experience including the parameter to be determined.

[0164] For example, the first information indicates index 1. In this case, the terminal determines that the evaluation mode of the user experience is the expression mode based on Table 4 pre-stored in the terminal.

[0165]

number

[0166] The terminal may determine that α and β are parameters to be determined. The terminal may apply the specific values of α and β obtained based on the first information to the formula. The terminal may calculate an XQI value according to the formula. The obtained XQI value may represent the impact of network transmission on the user experience.

[0167] In another possible implementation, the terminal may pre-store the correspondence between multiple evaluation modes and indexes of the user experience including the parameters to be determined in the format shown in Table 4. When a terminal receives first information and third information from a network device, determines an evaluation mode of a user experience including a parameter to be determined based on the first information, and determines a parameter of the evaluation mode of the user experience based on the third information, the terminal applies the parameter value to the evaluation mode of the user experience including the parameter to be determined, and determines an impact of network transmission on the user experience based on the evaluation mode of the user experience including the parameter to be determined.

[0168] For example, the first information indicates index 1. In this case, the terminal determines that the evaluation mode of the user experience is the expression mode based on Table 4 pre-stored in the terminal.

[0169]

number

[0170] The terminal may determine that α and β are parameters to be determined. The terminal may apply the specific values of α and β obtained based on the third information to the formula. The terminal may calculate an XQI value according to the formula. The obtained XQI value may represent the impact of network transmission on the user experience.

[0171] It should be understood that for different terminals, the network device may set different specific values of the determined parameter for the terminal through signaling based on different service requirements of the terminal. It may also be understood that the specific values of the determined parameter included in or indicated by the first information or the third information sent by the network device to different terminals may be different.

[0172] In step 1030, the terminal sends the second information to the network device. In response, the network device receives the second information from the terminal.

[0173] It should be understood that the second information includes information regarding the impact of network transmission on the user experience. The information regarding the impact of network transmission on the user experience includes image quality experience evaluation information and interactive experience evaluation information. The image quality experience evaluation mode is used to determine the image quality experience evaluation information. The interactive experience evaluation mode is used to determine the interactive experience evaluation information. The information regarding the impact of network transmission on the user experience indicates an extended reality quality evaluation score. The image quality experience evaluation mode and the interactive experience evaluation mode are used to determine the extended reality quality evaluation score.

[0174] In a possible implementation, the information on the impact of network transmission on the user experience included in the second information sent by the terminal to the network device may indicate an evaluation score of the extended reality quality. It may also be understood that the terminal sends the evaluation score of the extended reality quality to the network device. In other words, the terminal sends the XQI value to the network device.

[0175] It should be understood that before the terminal sends the evaluation score of the extended reality quality to the network device, the terminal may first determine the evaluation score of the extended reality quality. In other words, the terminal may first determine the XQI value. For example, the above terminal obtains the XQI value based on the first information or based on the first information and the third information. For the sake of brevity, the details will not be described again here.

[0176] Optionally, the terminal may determine an evaluation score of the extended reality quality based on the evaluation mode of the image quality experience and the evaluation mode of the interactive experience.

[0177] For example, the terminal pre-stores the correspondence between a plurality of evaluation modes of an image quality experience not including a parameter to be determined and indexes in the format shown in Table 5, and pre-stores the correspondence between a plurality of evaluation modes of an interactive experience not including a parameter to be determined and indexes in the format shown in Table 6. The terminal receives first information from a network device. The first information indicates that the index for determining the evaluation mode of the image quality experience is 1, and the index for determining the evaluation mode of the interactive experience is 2. In this case, the terminal determines that the image quality experience mode is an expression mode based on the index.

[0178]

number

[0179] It may be determined that, where a specific value of α is known. XQI1 may be calculated according to the formula. The terminal determines, based on the index, that the interactive experience mode is a neural network mode, that is, a neural network is constructed for XQI2 based on the frame arrival situation. XQI2 is obtained based on the neural network. Then, the XQI value is obtained through calculation based on the relationship between XQI, XQI1, and XQI2 pre-stored in the terminal, for example, the above formula XQI=XQI1+XQI2. In other words, an evaluation score of the extended reality quality is obtained.

[0180] In another possible implementation, the terminal sends second information to the network device. The information on the impact of network transmission on user experience included in the second information includes evaluation information of image quality experience and evaluation information of interactive experience. The evaluation information of image quality experience indicates a coefficient or evaluation score of the impact of transmission error on image quality experience. The evaluation information of interactive experience indicates a coefficient or evaluation score of the impact of transmission delay on interactive experience. It can also be understood that the terminal sends the coefficient or evaluation score of the impact of transmission error on image quality experience and the coefficient or evaluation score of the impact of transmission delay on interactive experience to the network device.

[0181] It should be understood that before the terminal sends the coefficient or evaluation score of the impact of the transmission error on the image quality experience and the coefficient or evaluation score of the impact of the transmission delay on the interactive experience to the network device, the terminal may determine evaluation information of the image quality experience based on the evaluation mode of the image quality experience, and determine evaluation information of the interactive experience based on the evaluation mode of the interactive experience.

[0182] For example, the device obtains the XQI value. When, If all frames within a statistical period are received correctly, the XQI value is aIn this case, the formula for calculating the coefficient w1 of the effect of the transmission error on the image quality experience is:

[0183]

number

[0184] It could be.

[0185] As another example, the terminal obtains the XQI value. When, If all frames in the statistical period are received by the terminal within the delay constraint, the XQI value is b In this case, the formula for calculating the coefficient w2 of the effect of the transmission delay on the interactive experience is:

[0186]

number

[0187] It could be.

[0188] For example, in FIG. 4, the first frame, the third frame, and the sixth frame may be displayed normally, the second frame has a transmission error, the fourth frame has a transmission error and a transmission delay, and the fifth frame has a transmission delay. In this case, the corresponding actual XQI value may be obtained based on the first information. It is assumed that all frames within a statistical period are received correctly. In this case, the first frame, the second frame, the third frame, and the sixth frame may be displayed normally. The fourth frame and the fifth frame have a transmission delay. Based on this assumption, the XQI value may be obtained based on the first information. aIn this case, w1 may indicate the effect of frame transmission errors on the XQI. It is assumed that all frames in the statistical period are received by the terminal within the delay constraint. In this case, the first, third, fifth, and sixth frames may be displayed as normal, while the second and fourth frames have transmission errors. Based on this assumption, the XQI value may be expressed as XQI b In this case, w2 may indicate the effect of transmission delay on the XQI.

[0189] Therefore, the XQI value, XQI a Value, and XQI b If the values are determined by the terminal, the terminal sends to the network device the coefficient w1 of the impact of the transmission error on the image quality experience and the coefficient w2 of the impact of the transmission delay on the interactive experience. Alternatively, the terminal sends to the network device the coefficient w1 of the impact of the transmission error on the image quality experience and the evaluation score of the interactive experience. Alternatively, the terminal sends to the network device the evaluation score of the image quality experience and the coefficient w2 of the impact of the transmission delay on the interactive experience. Alternatively, the terminal sends to the network device the evaluation score of the image quality experience and the evaluation score of the interactive experience.

[0192] and

[0193]

number

[0194] It should be understood that these are examples only and are not intended to constitute any limitations to the present application.

[0195] In step 1040, the network device communicates with the terminal based on the second information.

[0196] The network device may adjust a behavior of communication between the network device and the terminal based on the second information sent by the terminal, eg, reduce the MCS and / or increase the scheduling priority.

[0197] The network device may determine an MCS to be used for communication with the terminal based on the second information and the CQI. The terminal receives fourth information from the network device. The fourth information indicates an MCS, and the MCS is related to the second information and the CQI. Thus, the network device may communicate with the terminal based on the MCS.

[0198] It should be understood that the fourth information bearer signaling may be DCI.

[0199] In a possible implementation, when the terminal sends the XQI value to the network device, the network device adjusts a behavior of communication between the network device and the terminal based on the XQI value, and communicates with the terminal based on the adjusted communication behavior.

[0200] If the current XQI value is less than the target XQI value, the network device may reduce the MCS and / or increase the scheduling priority and communicate with the terminal based on the reduced MCS and / or increased scheduling priority.

[0201] The reduced MCS may be determined based on the XQI value and the CQI. For example, the reduced MCS may be determined based on the formula

[0202]

number

[0203] where I1 represents the current MCS index, I2 represents the reduced MCS index, XQI0 represents the target XQI value, and XQI represents the current XQI value.

[0204] As described above, the CQI value may be reported by the terminal to the network device. After the network device receives the CQI value sent by the terminal, the network device may first determine the current MCS index based on the CQI-MCS mapping relationship. For example, if the CQI value sent by the terminal is 3, the XQI value is 70, and the target XQI value is 80, in this case, it may be determined that the current coding rate is 193 based on Table 3. In Table 2, the MCS index corresponding to the coding rate of 193 is 3. In other words, the value of I1 is 4, and the XQI0 value is 80. In this case, the I2 obtained through calculation is 2 according to the above formula.

[0205] A larger difference between the XQI and XQI0 values indicates a larger increase in schedule priority. A smaller difference between the XQI and XQI0 values indicates a smaller increase in schedule priority.

[0206] In another possible implementation, when the terminal sends w1 and w2 to the network device, the network device adjusts the behavior of communication between the network device and the terminal based on w1 and w2, and communicates with the terminal based on the adjusted communication behavior.

[0207] The network device may reduce the MCS based on the value of w1 and communicate with the terminal based on the reduced MCS, and / or may increase the scheduling priority based on w2 and communicate with the terminal based on the adjusted scheduling priority.

[0208] The reduced MCS may be determined based on the value of w1 and the CQI. For example, the reduced MCS may be determined based on the formula

[0209]

number

[0210] where I1 represents the current MCS index, I2 represents the reduced MCS index, and w1 is a coefficient of the impact of transmission errors on the image quality experience.

[0211] The schedule priority may be adjusted based on w2, with a larger value of w2 indicating a larger increase in schedule priority and a smaller value of w2 indicating a smaller increase in schedule priority.

[0212] In yet another possible implementation, when the terminal sends XQI1 and XQI2 to the network device, the network device adjusts the behavior of communication between the network device and the terminal based on XQI1 and XQI2, and communicates with the terminal based on the adjusted communication behavior.

[0213] The current XQI1 value is the target image quality experience rating score.

[0214]

number

[0215] If the current XQI2 value is less than the value of the target rating score for the interactive experience, the network device may reduce the MCS based on the XQI1 value and communicate with the terminal based on the reduced MCS.

[0216]

number

[0217] If XQI2 is less than 1, the network device may increase the scheduling priority based on XQI2 and communicate with the terminal based on the adjusted scheduling priority.

[0218] The reduced MCS may be determined based on the XQI value and the CQI. For example, the reduced MCS may be determined based on the formula

[0219]

number

[0220] I1 represents the current MCS index, I2 represents the reduced MCS index,

[0221]

number

[0222] represents the target evaluation score of the image quality experience, and XQI1 represents the current evaluation score of the image quality experience.

[0223] The schedule priority may be adjusted based on XQI2.

[0224]

number

[0225] A larger difference between XQI2 and XQI3 indicates a larger increase in schedule priority.

[0226]

number

[0227] A smaller difference between indicates a smaller increase in schedule priority.

[0228] In the three possible implementations mentioned above, the formula

[0234] It should be understood that these are examples only and are not intended to constitute any limitation to the present application.

When the evaluation score of the interactive experience is known, the network device may also separately set the evaluation mode of the image quality experience for the terminal through signaling, so that the terminal determines the evaluation score of the image quality experience and feeds back the evaluation score of the image quality experience to the network device.

[0236] According to the data transmission method provided in the present application, the network device may set, for the terminal, an evaluation mode of user experience used to determine the impact of the network transmission status on the user experience by using the first information.

[0237] The method further effectively and accurately measures the impact of network transmission quality on the XR user experience, and based on the evaluation score of the extended reality quality, provides an evaluation score of the image quality experience and / or an evaluation score of the interactive experience to the operator of the network. To Schedule optimization, network planning, network optimization, and fault location may be performed based on the extended reality quality evaluation score, the image quality experience evaluation score, and / or the interactive experience evaluation score.
