Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] One aspect of the present invention relates to a time measurement system that measures the time required to travel a certain section. [Background technology]
[0002] Generally, time measurement devices such as stopwatches are used to accurately measure the time it takes to travel a certain distance. In recent years, to eliminate measurement errors caused by the person measuring and to measure accurately to the order of one hundredth of a second, time measurement systems using electrical signals or time measurement systems using clocks with little time measurement error have come into use.
[0003] For example, this time measurement system has a configuration in which a pair of time measurement devices, each equipped with a sensor unit consisting of a photoelectric sensor and capable of communicating with each other, are used. First, the time measurement devices are synchronized and then placed at the measurement start position and measurement end position, respectively. These time measurement devices are connected by wireless or wired communication, and the passing time or moving time of the person being measured is measured based on the detection signal of each sensor unit (for example, Patent Document 1). [Figure 4] 4 is a flowchart for explaining time measurement in the time measurement system of FIG. 1. [Diagram 5] 4 is a flowchart for explaining a process of viewing a measurement result in the time measurement system of FIG. 1.
[0018] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[0019] 1 is a diagram showing a conceptual configuration of a time measurement system according to one embodiment of the present invention. This time measurement system 1 is a system that measures the time required for a person to be measured 6 to move or pass through a predetermined section.
[0020] The time measurement system 1 has an electronic device terminal (for example, a smartphone) that is carried by the person 6 to be measured and moves around with him or her.
[0021] Although not shown, this electronic device terminal has a communication unit (third communication unit) that performs GPS (Global Positioning System) communication and network communication, for example, Internet communication.
[0022] In this embodiment, the network communication is exemplified as Internet communication, but is not limited to this. Other network communications can also be applied as long as a component equivalent to a data server can be installed. This electronic device terminal transmits the acquired time information via Internet communication to a data server 5, which will be described later.
[0023] The time measurement system 1 also has a first sensor 2 (start sensor) and a second sensor 3 (goal sensor).
[0024] The first sensor 2 for the start has a passage sensor 11 for the start, a measurement clock 12 for the start (11 and 12 together constitute the first time acquisition unit), a memory 34, and a communication unit (first transmission unit) capable of short-range communication.
[0025] It is preferable that the start passage sensor 11 and the start timing clock 12 are integrally constructed, but they may be constructed separately.
[0026] The start sensor passage 11 is disposed at the start position where the measurement of time begins.
[0027] A known sensor can be used for the start sensor passage 11. For example, if it is a non-contact sensor, a photoelectric sensor or a magnetic sensor is preferable. The photoelectric sensor can be a known sensor consisting of a light projecting unit that emits infrared light or laser light and a light receiving unit. When the person to be measured passes across the emitted infrared light or laser light, the light receiving unit detects the light blocking or reflected light and outputs a sensor signal.
[0028] Also, a sensor combining an opening / closing gate (shaped like a bar or door) with an electric switch can be used. In this configuration, the gate is placed at the start position, and when the gate is opened, such as when the person being measured 6 pushes it open, the electric switch turns on and time measurement begins. Furthermore, if the method is to start measurement electrically, a device that emits light or sound can be placed at the start position instead of a sensor, and when the light or sound is emitted to notify the start of measurement, an electric signal to start time measurement can be output from the device.
[0029] The start measurement clock 12 acquires and stores time information for the start of measurement at the first timing when a sensor signal is output from the start passage sensor 11. The first transmission unit capable of short-distance communication transmits the acquired first time information to an electronic device terminal carried by the person 6 to be measured and moved together with the person 6 to be measured.
[0030] The second sensor 3 for the goal has a passage sensor 13 for the start, a timing clock 14 for the start (13 and 14 together form a second time acquisition unit), a memory 34, and a communication unit (second transmission unit) capable of short-range communication.
[0031] It is preferable that the goal passage sensor 13 and the goal timepiece 14 are integrally configured, but they may be configured as separate units. The passage sensor 13 for the goal is disposed at the goal position where the time measurement ends. The goal passage sensor 13 can be a known sensor, similar to the start passage sensor.
[0032] The goal measurement clock 14 acquires and stores time information of the start of measurement at the second timing when the sensor signal of the goal passage sensor 13 is output. The second transmission unit capable of short-distance communication transmits the acquired second time information to an electronic device terminal carried by the person 6 to be measured and moved together with the person 6 to be measured.
[0033] Furthermore, assuming that the person to be measured 6 passes close by, the goal passage sensor 13 is preferably a non-contact sensor, and for example, a photoelectric sensor or a magnetic sensor is used.
[0034] The time measurement system 1 also has a data server 5 connected to the Internet 4 .
[0035] A third transmission unit, which performs Internet communication on an electronic device terminal carried by the subject 6 and moving around with the subject 6, transmits the first time information and the second time information obtained from the first sensor 2 and the second sensor 3 to a data server 5.
[0036] The above-mentioned start measuring device 12 and goal measuring clock 14 can use a commercial frequency AC voltage or a rectified DC voltage as a power source (not shown).
[0037] In addition, since it is expected that the device will be used in environments where there is no power supply, such as outdoors, it can also be used by attaching a battery, for example, a dry cell such as an alkaline battery or a rechargeable battery such as a lithium battery.
[0038] Furthermore, the exterior or housing of the start timer 12 and the goal timer 14 may be equipped with a solar panel to be used as an auxiliary power source. The auxiliary power supply may function to extend the battery life or to compensate for a drop in the battery output voltage when used in a low-temperature environment. Also, a separate external power supply input terminal may be provided so that power can be supplied from an external DC or AC power supply.
[0039] The exterior members or housings of the start timer 12 and the goal timer 14 have a structure that is strong and functional enough to withstand external shocks such as being dropped and to protect the internal components.
[0040] The exterior member or the housing is made of, for example, a hard resin member or a metal material. The exterior member or the housing is provided with a handle or a shoulder strap attachment for easy carrying. Furthermore, the exterior member or the housing may be provided with detachable legs or a connector for attachment to another device.
[0041] The start measuring device 12 and the goal measuring clock 14 further have a waterproof function, a dustproof function, and a dew condensation prevention function. As a waterproof function, waterproof packing is attached to the components exposed to the outside, for example, between the antenna unit and the housing or at the joint of the housing. Furthermore, a cooling mechanism for adjusting the temperature rise inside the housing and a heat retention mechanism for adjusting the temperature inside the housing or preventing dew condensation inside the housing may be appropriately provided according to the surrounding environment in which it is used. For example, if the cooling mechanism is air-cooled, cooling fins for transmitting the internal temperature may be attached so as to be exposed to the outside. If the cooling mechanism is water-cooled, pipes with high thermal conductivity in which a refrigerant is sealed may be laid out inside the housing, and the refrigerant may be circulated by a small pump while being cooled by the cooling fins. If the heat retention mechanism is used, a heat insulating material may be attached to the inner surface of the housing, or a heater unit using a resistance heater or a Peltier element may be provided. These mechanisms may be appropriately selected and installed according to the environment in which it is used. By controlling the temperatures of the start timer 12 and the goal timer 14 in this manner, it is possible to ensure the usable time of the attached batteries and to prevent malfunctions of circuit components and deterioration of accuracy.
[0042] The data server 5 in one embodiment is a so-called Web data server, and may be implemented by, for example, a computer and a large-capacity memory capable of performing arithmetic processing and storing information. The data server 5 performs arithmetic processing to obtain the difference between the received measurement start time information and measurement end time information, and the calculation result is stored as time information in a memory (not shown) provided in the data server 5.
[0043] The data server 5 stores several applications that realize various viewing formats. By using these applications, for example, ranking, maximum and minimum time information, and average time information are displayed numerically for all time information in one file related to selected identification information, or all stored time information, or specific time information. Furthermore, all time information can be output in various viewing formats such as deviation values and distribution graphs. Also, it can be displayed in a viewing format such as a comparison with previously stored time information for each subject (personal best).
[0044] The time information stored in the data server 5 is read out and viewed via the Internet 4 by a communication terminal, for example, a personal computer 24 or a wireless mobile terminal 7 such as a smartphone.
[0045] First, the data server 5 is accessed from the wireless mobile terminal 7 or the personal computer 24 via the Internet 4 .
[0046] The wireless mobile terminal 7 connects to the Internet 4 in a 4G or 3G environment of a base station 22 or in a Wifi environment using a wireless LAN router 23, etc. Also, a personal computer 24 or the like connects to the Internet 4 in an environment using a modem or router that is wired to the Internet 4 line, or in the above-mentioned Wifi environment.
[0047] Here, only viewers who are permitted to access the data server 5 can view the time information by inputting a preset registration number and password. Note that permitted viewers are those who know the registration number and password. Of course, if the time information is publicly available, it may be set to be accessible to anyone without restrictions.
[0048] Next, a viewer who accesses the data server 5 searches the stored multiple pieces of time information using the identification information, reads out the desired time information, and displays it on the display screen of the personal computer 24 or the wireless mobile terminal 7.
[0049] In contrast to this, the time measurement system of this embodiment does not have direct communication between the first sensor 2 for the start and the second sensor 3 for the goal.
[0050] Therefore, even if an obstacle that blocks communication exists between the installation positions of the first sensor 2 for the start and the second sensor 3 for the goal, there is no effect on time measurement or communication.
[0051] Therefore, the timing system can communicate without any problems even if there are obstacles between the start and finish positions, such as tall buildings in cities or mountain peaks.
[0052] The timing system of this embodiment uses Internet communication to allow the skier to check time information on a communication terminal, so there is no need for the skier to return to the measurement end point. Furthermore, the timing system of this embodiment allows the skier to view time information, which is the result of time measurement, via the Internet 4, so that the skier can access the data server 5 from a mobile terminal or personal computer from a point far away from the installation location of the first sensor 2 for the start and the second sensor 3 for the finish, and can easily obtain time information.
[0053] In addition, since the calculation and display processing of the time information is performed by the data server 5, it is easy to upgrade to the latest processing programs and applications. The start timing clock 12 and the goal timing clock 14 can be equipped with small-capacity memories, which allows for low manufacturing costs.
[0054] [Embodiment] Next, a time measurement system according to a first embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS.
[0055] FIG. 2 is a block diagram illustrating the configuration of the first sensor 2 for starting.
[0056] The first sensor 2 for the start is composed of a passage sensor 11 for the start, a timing clock 12 for the start, and a communication unit 31 for performing short-distance communication.
[0057] The starting measurement clock 12 is provided with a memory 34 for storing information such as settings, a control unit 35 for controlling the entire measuring device, and a power switch (not shown).
[0058] A communication section 31 (first transmission section) that performs short-distance communication transmits the acquired first time information to an electronic device terminal carried by the person to be measured 6 and moving together with the person to be measured 6. The communication unit 31 can be realized by a known configuration.
[0059] The memory 34 is an auxiliary storage element, and is implemented by semiconductor storage elements such as ROM, RAM, etc. The memory 34 stores control programs and application software for the control unit 35, which will be described later, to perform control and processing.
[0060] The control unit 35 is a device for performing arithmetic processing, and may be, for example, a CPU having a register for temporarily storing data, an interface, etc. This control unit 35 usually has an oscillation circuit that oscillates a system clock (hereinafter referred to as clock) required for controlling each component while determining the operation timing. In this embodiment, the clock unit is configured using the clock signal of this oscillation circuit. Of course, the clock unit may be provided with a separate dedicated clock unit without using the control unit 35.
[0061] Next, the goal sensor 3 will be described.
[0062] FIG. 3 is a block diagram illustrating the configuration of the goal sensor 3. As shown in FIG.
[0063] The goal sensor 3 is made up of a goal passage sensor 13 and a communication section 31 that performs short-distance communication with the goal time clock 14 .
[0064] The goal measurement clock 14 is provided with a memory 34 for storing information such as settings, a control unit 35 for controlling the entire measurement device, and a power switch (not shown).
[0065] A communication section 41 (second transmission section) that performs short-distance communication transmits the acquired second time information to an electronic device terminal carried by the person to be measured 6 and moving together with the person to be measured 6. The communication unit 41 can be realized by a known configuration.
[0066] The memory 34 and the control unit 35 are similar to those used in the start sensor 2, and therefore a description thereof will be omitted.
[0067] An example of the application of the time measurement system of the first embodiment described above to downhill competitions on snow, such as skiing and snowboarding, is described below. In downhill competitions, multiple gates are set up on the snow, and participants compete to see who can pass through them the fastest.
[0068] First, the person being measured (skier) downloads the measurement application software onto the electronic device (smartphone) that he or she will carry with him or her during the competition and launches the software. Downloading this app enables the use of this time measurement system (acquiring the first and second time information and transmitting it to data server 5).
[0069] In a preset sliding course, a first sensor 2 for the start is installed near the sliding start position on the mountain top side, and a third sensor 3 for the goal is installed near the sliding end position on the foothill side.
[0070] In this embodiment, the start passage sensor 11 of the first start sensor 2 is integrated with the start time clock 12 .
[0071] The start passage sensor 12 acquires the time when the skier passes the start passage sensor 12 as the skiing start time. In this embodiment, the above-mentioned pair of photoelectric sensors is used as the passage sensor 12 for starting.
[0072] In the second goal sensor 3 as well, the goal passage sensor 12 is integrated with the goal time clock 14 .
[0073] The goal passage sensor 13 is a pair of photoelectric sensors that are placed at the goal position. The time when the skater passes the goal passage sensor 13 is recorded and regarded as the end time of the skate.
[0074] The process of acquiring the skating start time and skating end time using the first sensor 2 for the start and the second sensor 3 for the finish will be described with reference to the flowcharts shown in FIGS.
[0075] FIG. 4 is a flowchart for explaining time measurement by the time measurement system.
[0076] First, the person being measured (skier) downloads the measurement application software to an electronic device terminal (smartphone, tablet, etc.) that he or she will carry with him or her during the competition, and starts the software (step S1).
[0077] Next, the first sensor 2 for the start and the second sensor 3 for the goal are activated. It is desirable to check that they are activated properly (step S2).
[0078] Next, when the skater starts skating and passes the start passage sensor 11, a sensor signal is input from the start passage sensor 11 to the start timing clock 12. When the sensor signal is input, the control unit 35 of the start timing clock 12 obtains start time information (first time information) (step S3).
[0079] The communication unit 31 of the first sensor 2 for the start transmits the acquired time information at the start to the electronic device terminal carried by the skier (step S4).
[0080] Thereafter, when the skater passes the finish line, a sensor signal is input from the goal passage sensor 13 to the goal time clock 14. When the sensor signal is input, the control unit 35 of the goal time clock 14 obtains time information (second time information) of the finish line (step S5).
[0081] The communication unit 41 of the first sensor 3 for the finish line transmits the acquired time information at the finish line to the electronic device terminal carried by the skier (step S6).
[0082] The start time clock 12, the finish time clock 14 and the electronic device terminals carried by the skaters are connected by short-range wireless communication such as Bluetooth (registered trademark).
[0083] Thereafter, the third transmitting unit of the electronic terminal device carried by the skier transmits the acquired start time information and goal time information to the data server 5 (step S7).
[0084] The data server 5 temporarily stores the time information transmitted from the specific electronic device terminal as a set.
[0085] An arithmetic processing unit (not shown) in the data server 5 subtracts the start time information from the finish time information to calculate the time required for skating as skating time information (difference) (step S8). For example, start time information: 10:10 13.634 seconds Finish time: 10:11:52.102 Run time information: 1 minute 38.468 seconds.
[0086] Next, the browsing of the time information of a run stored in the data server 5 will be described with reference to the above-mentioned FIG. 1 and the flow chart shown in FIG.
[0087] 5 is a flowchart for explaining the process of viewing the measurement results on a terminal in the time measurement system. Here, it shows an example in which a skier (viewer) views the results after finishing a run.
[0088] First, the viewer accesses the data server 5 from a terminal, for example, an electronic device terminal such as a personal computer or a smartphone, via the Internet 4 (step S9).
[0089] The wireless mobile terminal connects to the Internet 4 in a 4G or 3G environment of a base station or in a Wi-Fi environment using a wireless LAN router or the like. Also, the connection to the Internet 4 may be made in an environment using a router or the like that connects to the line of the Internet 4 by wire.
[0090] The data server 5 requests a registration number or a password from the accessed personal computer or electronic device terminal. In this example, only viewers who are permitted to access the data server 5 can view the time information by inputting a registration number or a password that has been set in advance.
[0091] However, if the time information is publicly available, it may be set so that anyone can access it without any restrictions.
[0092] When the data server 5 is accessed using downloaded application software on the electronic device terminal that transmitted the time information to the data server 5, the registration number or password does not necessarily have to be requested. In this case, viewing is permitted based on the information of the electronic device terminal.
[0093] When a user inputs a registration number or a password (step S10), the data server 5 displays, for example, an index of time information (topic of viewing) assigned according to the registration number (step S11).
[0094] To facilitate easy selection, the viewing topic may display, for example, the date and time when the time information was stored, the location (eg, the name of the ski resort), the organizer or ski club name, and online rankings of ski runs.
[0095] The viewer can input the name of the skier on the screen of the selected viewing topic, read out the desired time information, and display it on the display screen of the personal computer 24 or the wireless mobile terminal 7.
[0096] It is possible to view not only the time information of past stored skating records, but also the current situation where multiple skiers are skating one after another and the time information is being updated. If the time information is being updated, the latest time information will be displayed as it is updated.
[0097] In addition to the ranking, other data such as the delay from the leader, average speed (if the run distance is known), deviation value, distribution, etc. Also, if past stored data is read out, it is possible to compare and view it.
[0098] As described above, according to the first embodiment, in a simple time measurement system, one's own skating time (time information), ranking, and other people's skating times (time information) can be obtained.
[0099] If for some reason the finish time information cannot be obtained, the skier can bring the electronic device terminal he or she is carrying close to the finish time clock 14 after reaching the finish line, and the time information at the finish line can be obtained from the communication unit 41 of the finish time clock 14.
[0100] Thereafter, the electronic device terminal transmits the information together with the goal time to the data server 5 using a third transmission unit that performs Internet communication.
[0101] In addition, when the electronic device terminal carried by the skier acquires the start time information, it may not transmit the start time information (first time information) to the data server 5, but may transmit the start time information to the data server 5 together with the finish time information (second time information) when it acquires the finish time information.
[0102] The time measurement system according to one embodiment described above can be applied to various time measurements, not limited to the above-mentioned snow skating competitions. For example, time can be measured for various measurement objects in measuring the time required to move a predetermined section, such as 1) measuring the time required for runners in track events, marathons, etc., 2) measuring the travel time of vehicles such as bicycles, motorbikes, and automobiles, 3) measuring the travel time of boats in yacht races, etc., and 4) measuring the time required for airplanes to pass through pylons in competitions.
[0103] Although the embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail above with reference to the drawings, the specific configurations are not limited to these embodiments, and the present invention includes design changes and the like that do not deviate from the gist of the present invention. In addition, the above-mentioned embodiments can be combined by utilizing each other's technologies as long as there are no particular contradictions or problems in the purpose, configuration, etc. [Explanation of symbols]
