DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0009] <<<<Outline of this embodiment>>>> <<<First Aspect>>> The polyhedral structure according to the first aspect has a simple structure and aims to simplify the operation.
[0010] According to the first feature, A base (e.g., a base 100 described later) extending along an axis (e.g., an axis AX described later) and having a first pattern conductor (e.g., a first pattern conductor 150 described later) formed along its surface; A polyhedral structure is provided, comprising: a polyhedral portion connected to an end portion along the axis of the base (e.g., front end portion 102 described later), the polyhedral portion having a plurality of planar portions each having a polygonal shape (e.g., polygonal planar portions 212-1A to 212-1E, 212-2A to 212-2E, 212-3A to 212-3E described later), and a second pattern conductor (e.g., second pattern conductor 300 described later) electrically connected to the first pattern conductor formed along the surface of each of the plurality of planar portions (e.g., polyhedral portion 200 described later).
[0011] The first pattern conductor is formed along the surface of the base. There is no need to provide the first pattern conductor inside the base, and the base can have a simple structure. In addition, since the first pattern conductor is formed on the surface of the base, even if other devices or components such as an external power source are electrically connected to the first pattern conductor, the assembly work such as connection can be simplified.
[0012] The second pattern conductor is formed along the surface of the polyhedral part. There is no need to provide the second pattern conductor inside the polyhedral part, and the structure of the polyhedral part can be simplified. In addition, since the second pattern conductor is formed on the surface of the polyhedral part, even if other components or devices such as electronic components are electrically connected to the second pattern conductor, assembly work such as connection can be simplified.
[0013] The polyhedral portion is connected to the base and is integrated with the base. Since the polyhedral portion and the base are connected, there is no need to manage the polyhedral portion and the base separately, and there is no need to connect the polyhedral portion to the base. With this configuration, the polyhedral structure can be made simple in structure, and the polyhedral structure can be easily handled.
[0014] The second pattern conductor is electrically connected to the first pattern conductor in advance. Therefore, the work of electrically connecting the second pattern conductor to the first pattern conductor can be omitted. Therefore, by electrically connecting the first pattern conductor of the base to a power source or the like, it is possible to supply power to the first pattern conductor and also to immediately supply power to the second pattern conductor of the polyhedral part. The polyhedral part is integrated with the base, and the first pattern conductor is electrically connected to the second pattern conductor. Therefore, by attaching the base to a power source or the like, it is possible to position the entire polyhedral part and the base at a fixed position, and it is possible to electrically connect the pattern conductors of both the first pattern conductor and the second pattern conductor to a power source or the like, which makes it easy to handle and assemble the polyhedral structure.
[0015] According to the polyhedral structure of the first aspect, it is not necessary to provide conductive wiring inside either the base or the polyhedral part, and therefore a simple structure can be provided. Furthermore, according to the polyhedral structure of the first aspect, it is possible to easily and simply bond electronic components and electrically connect to an external power source, and therefore it is possible to easily assemble the polyhedral structure.
[0016] <<<Second Aspect>>> The polyhedral structure according to the second aspect aims to simplify the electrical connection work.
[0017] The second feature is that, in the first feature, The second pattern conductor has a connection terminal portion (such as a connection terminal portion 310 described later) for electrically connecting to an electronic component on at least one of the plurality of planar portions.
[0018] The second pattern conductor has a connection terminal portion. The connection terminal portion is a conductor portion for forming an electrical connection with other components or devices such as electronic components. A terminal portion of the electronic component or the like can be electrically connected to the connection terminal portion by soldering or the like. Power can be supplied to the electronic component or the like and various signals can be transmitted and received via the second pattern conductor.
[0019] The connection terminal portion is formed on at least a part of the flat portions among the plurality of flat portions. Specifically, the connection terminal portion is formed on the surface of at least a part of the flat portions. Other components or devices such as electronic components can be easily connected. According to the polyhedral structure of the second aspect, the electrical connection work can be simplified.
[0020] The connection terminal portion may be formed on all of the plurality of planar portions, or on only one planar portion. The number of planar portions on which the connection terminal portion is provided may be appropriately determined depending on the application of the polyhedral structure, the size, shape, type, etc. of electronic components. Furthermore, one or more connection terminal portions may be provided on one planar portion. The number of connection terminal portions provided on one planar portion may be appropriately determined depending on the size, shape, type, etc. of electronic components.
[0021] <<<Third Aspect>>> The polyhedral structure according to the third aspect has an object to provide a structure that is simple in configuration and easy to manufacture.
[0022] A third feature is the first or second feature, A connection region (e.g., rear portion 220 or boundary portion 250 described below) where the base and the polyhedral portion are connected includes a plane (e.g., imaginary plane IP2 described below) extending along a direction perpendicular to the axis.
[0023] The polyhedral structure has a connection region where the base and the polyhedral portion are connected. The base and the polyhedral portion are connected in advance, and the polyhedral structure has an integral structure.
[0024] The connecting region includes a plane extending along a direction perpendicular to the axis. That is, the connecting region extends along a direction perpendicular to the axis. For example, the connecting region extends along a direction perpendicular to the length direction of the base. The connecting region between the base and the polyhedron portion can be formed by a single plane, which simplifies the structure of the polyhedron structure and provides a structure that is easy to manufacture.
[0025] It should be noted that the base and the polyhedron may be configured to be detachable rather than being integral. By making the base and the polyhedron separately, efficiency can be increased.
[0026] <<<Fourth Aspect>>> The polyhedral structure according to the fourth aspect aims to make the characteristics and functions exhibited in the planar portion of the polyhedral portion different according to the direction along the axis. For example, when a wave is emitted from the planar portion of the polyhedral structure, the aim is to make the directivity of the wave different according to the direction along the axis.
[0027] The fourth feature is the first to third features, In the polyhedral portion, among the boundary portions (e.g., boundary portions 230A-230E and boundary portions 250A-250E described later) formed between adjacent planar portions, a virtual plane (e.g., virtual plane IP1 described later) formed by at least three boundary portions (e.g., boundary portions 230A-230E described later) that orbit the axis is a flat surface (e.g., boundary portion 230 described later) extending along a direction perpendicular to the axis.
[0028] A boundary portion is formed between adjacent planar portions of the polyhedral portion. When planar portions are adjacent to each other in the polyhedral portion, a boundary portion is necessarily formed between them. Therefore, the polyhedral portion has a plurality of boundary portions.
[0029] Of the multiple boundary lines that the polyhedral portion has, some of the connected boundary lines go around the axis. The boundary lines going around the axis form a boundary line (boundary surface). There are at least three boundary lines going around the axis. The boundary line may have three or more boundary lines constituting it. The number of boundary lines going around the axis can be determined appropriately depending on the shapes of the polyhedral portion and the planar portion, etc.
[0030] An imaginary plane can be formed by at least three boundary portions going around the axis. The imaginary plane is a flat surface extending along a direction perpendicular to the axis. Note that the imaginary plane only needs to intersect with the axis, and does not need to extend along a direction perpendicular to the axis. The imaginary plane can be any plane that can virtually divide the polyhedral portion into several regions.
[0031] The polyhedral part can be divided into at least two regions in the direction along the axis with respect to the virtual plane. That is, with respect to the virtual plane, the polyhedral part can be divided into two regions, a region farther from the base and a region closer to the base along the axis (for example, the front polyhedral part 210a and the rear polyhedral part 210b described later). Furthermore, the multiple planar parts of the polyhedral part can be divided into planar parts belonging to the far side region and planar parts belonging to the near side region. Furthermore, for example, the polyhedral part can be configured such that the direction in which the planar parts belonging to the far side region face is different from the direction in which the planar parts belonging to the near side region face. By configuring in this way, the characteristics and functions exhibited based on the planar parts located farther from the base along the axis can be made different from the characteristics and functions exhibited based on the planar parts located closer to the base.
[0032] More specifically, for example, a member, part, device, etc. that emits waves can be provided on the flat surface of the polyhedral part. A member that emits waves that move in a direction away from the base along the axis can be provided on the flat surface located farther from the base along the axis. On the other hand, a member that emits waves that move in a direction toward the base along the axis can be provided on the flat surface located closer to the base along the axis. By configuring in this way, the directionality and diffusion of the waves emitted from the polyhedral structure can be made to differ according to the direction along the axis.
[0033] The planar portion of the polyhedral portion may be provided with not only a member that emits wave motion but also a member that receives wave motion.Furthermore, the planar portion of the polyhedral portion may be provided with a mixture of a member that emits wave motion and a member that receives wave motion.
[0034] In addition, the number of virtual planes may be more than one. Therefore, the polyhedral portion may be divided into three or more regions by the multiple virtual planes. The properties and functions exhibited based on the planar portions included in each of the three or more regions of the polyhedral portion may be made different from one another, so that each region can exhibit a variety of properties and functions.
[0035] <<<Fifth Aspect>>> The fifth aspect of the polyhedral structure aims to determine the characteristics and functions to be exhibited based on the direction of the normal to the flat surface of the polyhedral part, for example, to determine the directionality of the waves emitted from the flat surface of the polyhedral part.
[0036] A fifth aspect is the first to fourth features, a first region (e.g., a front polyhedral portion 210a, etc., described later) of the polyhedral portion that is farther from the base portion than the imaginary plane has at least three first planar portions (e.g., polygonal planar portions 212-1A to 212-1E, etc., described later) having first normals (e.g., normals n1A to n1E, etc., described later) among the planar portions constituting the polyhedral portion, the first normals of the at least three first planar portions are oriented in different directions from one another; For each of the at least three first planar portions, the angle between the first normal line and the axis is a first angle (for example, angle θ1, which will be described later).
[0037] The first region is a region of the polyhedron portion that is farther from the base portion than the imaginary plane. At least three first planar portions that belong to the first region have a first normal line.
[0038] The directions of the first normals of the at least three first planar portions are different from one another. The angles formed by the first normals of the at least three first planar portions and the axis line are the same first angles. That is, the directions of the first normals of the first planar portions themselves are different from one another, but the angles formed by the first normals and the axis line are the same.
[0039] The characteristics and functions exhibited based on the planar portions can be determined according to the direction of the normal to the planar portions. In addition, in the first region, the angle between the first normal to the planar portions and the axis is the same first angle, so that the characteristics and functions exhibited based on the planar portions belonging to the first region can be easily made uniform. For example, the characteristics such as the degree of expansion and the degree of dispersion with respect to the axis can be made uniform for the planar portions belonging to the first region.
[0040] <<<Sixth Aspect>>> The polyhedral structure according to the sixth aspect aims to make it easier to uniform the properties and functions exhibited in the planar portions of the polyhedral portions.
[0041] The sixth aspect is the first to fifth aspects, The at least three first planar portions orbit the axis.
[0042] The properties and functions exhibited based on the planar portions of the polyhedral portion can be easily aligned due to the rotational symmetry around the axis.
[0043] <<<Seventh Aspect>>> The seventh aspect of the polyhedral structure aims to determine the characteristics and functions to be exhibited based on the direction of the normal to the flat surface of the polyhedral part, and further aims to align the characteristics and functions to be exhibited depending on the region to which the flat surface belongs.
[0044] The seventh aspect is the first to fifth aspects, a second region of the polyhedral portion (e.g., rear polyhedral portion 210b described later) closer to the base than the imaginary plane has at least three second planar portions (e.g., polygonal planar portions 212-2A to 212-2E described later) having a second normal and at least three third planar portions (e.g., polygonal planar portions 212-3A to 212-3E described later) having a third normal among the planar portions constituting the polyhedral portion, the second normals (e.g., normals n2A to n2E, which will be described later) of the at least three second planar portions are oriented in different directions from one another; the third normals (e.g., normals n3A to n3E, which will be described later) of the at least three third planar portions are oriented in different directions from one another; A second angle (such as angle θ2 described later) made between the second normal line and the axis line is different from a third angle (such as angle θ3 described later) made between the third normal line and the axis line.
[0045] A second region of the polyhedron proximal to the base has a second planar portion and a third planar portion. The second planar portion has a second normal. The third planar portion has a third normal. A second angle between the second normal and the axis is different from a third angle between the third normal and the axis.
[0046] Since the second region has a second planar portion having a second normal and a third planar portion having a third normal, the characteristics and functions to be exerted in the planar portion can be determined according to the direction of the normal to the planar portion. Furthermore, the characteristics and functions to be exerted can be aligned based on the region to which the planar portion having the second corner belongs, and the characteristics and functions to be exerted can be aligned based on the region to which the planar portion having the third corner belongs.
[0047] <<<Eighth aspect>>> The polyhedral structure according to the eighth aspect aims to make it easier to uniform the properties and functions exhibited in the planar portions of the polyhedral portions.
[0048] The eighth aspect is the first to seventh aspects, The at least three second planar portions and the at least three third planar portions orbit the axis.
[0049] The properties and functions exhibited based on the planar portions of the polyhedral portion can be easily aligned due to the rotational symmetry around the axis.
[0050] The second planar portion and the third planar portion are alternately arranged around the axis. That is, the second planar portion and the third planar portion are alternately arranged around the axis and go around the axis. The second planar portion and the third planar portion do not exist in the first region. The second planar portion and the third planar portion exist in a region of the polyhedral portion that is closer to the base than the first region and farther from the base than the virtual plane.
[0051] <<<Ninth Aspect>>> The polyhedral structure according to the ninth aspect aims to easily align the properties and functions exhibited based on the planar portions of the polyhedral portions.
[0052] The ninth aspect is the first to seventh aspects, The second corner and the third corner are different from the first corner.
[0053] This makes it easier to align the characteristics and functions exhibited by the planar portion of the polyhedral portion with respect to the axis.
[0054] <<<Tenth Aspect>>> The polyhedral structure according to the tenth aspect has a simple structure and aims to make the operation easy.
[0055] The tenth aspect is the first to fifth aspects, The second pattern conductor is a bundling pattern (e.g., bundling pattern 320, which will be described later) electrically connected to at least a part of the connection terminal portion formed on the first plane portion; A guide pattern (e.g., a guide pattern 330 described later) electrically connecting the focusing pattern to the first pattern conductor; has.
[0056] The second pattern conductor has a focusing pattern and a guiding pattern.
[0057] The focusing pattern is electrically connected to at least some of the connection terminals. When the second pattern conductor has a plurality of connection terminals, the focusing pattern can form an electrical connection by collectively connecting the plurality of connection terminals. Therefore, it is not necessary to form a pattern conductor separately for each of the plurality of connection terminals, and the electrical connection can be formed. By reducing the number of pattern conductors to be formed on the planar portion of the polyhedral portion, the configuration of the polyhedral portion can be simplified. Furthermore, by reducing the area occupied by the pattern conductors to be formed on the planar portion of the polyhedral portion, the planar portion of the polyhedral portion can be effectively utilized, for example, by increasing the number of electronic components that can be mounted.
[0058] The guide pattern electrically connects the focusing pattern to the first pattern conductor. As described above, the focusing pattern collectively covers the multiple connection terminals, and it is not necessary to form a guide pattern for each of the multiple connection terminals. If only a small area can be secured, the guide pattern can be formed and electrically connected to the first pattern conductor. In this way, the configuration of the polyhedral portion can be simplified and the flat surface of the polyhedral portion can be effectively utilized.
[0059] <<<Eleventh Aspect>>> The polyhedral structure according to the eleventh aspect aims to increase the degree of freedom in the arrangement of the second pattern conductors in the polyhedral portion.
[0060] The eleventh aspect is the first to tenth aspects, The focusing pattern is a pattern conductor that is formed at a position farthest from the base portion among the second pattern conductors.
[0061] Since the focusing pattern is formed at the position farthest from the base, it is possible to increase the degree of freedom in the arrangement, size, shape, etc. of the second pattern conductor formed on the flat surface of the polyhedral part. Also, the focusing pattern can be formed without interfering with the connection terminal part.

[0074] <<Base 100>> The base 100 functions as a support that supports the polyhedral structure 10. The base 100 is inserted into a socket or receptacle (not shown), etc. By being inserted into the socket or receptacle, the base 100 is supported in a constant attitude and orientation. By being inserted into the socket or receptacle, the base 100 is fixed in a constant position. The base 100 may be any part that can determine the orientation of the polyhedral structure 10.
[0075] The socket, receptacle, etc. can be connected to an external power source (not shown). [0083] The first pattern conductor 150 is formed on the surface of the base 100. Specifically, the first pattern conductor 150 is formed on the first surface portion 110a, the second surface portion 110b, the third surface portion 110c, and the fourth surface portion 110d. The first pattern conductor 150 does not have to be formed on all of the first surface portion 110a, the second surface portion 110b, the third surface portion 110c, and the fourth surface portion 110d, but may be formed on any one of the surface portions 110. A part of the first pattern conductor 150 is formed across a plurality of surface portions 110.
[0084] <Power supply terminal portion 152, power supply pattern 154, base terminal portion 156> The first pattern conductor 150 has a power supply terminal portion 152, a power supply pattern 154, and a base terminal portion 156. The power supply terminal portion 152, the power supply pattern 154, and the base terminal portion 156 are formed to be electrically connected to each other.
[0085] <Power supply terminal part 152> The power supply terminal portion 152 is connected to an external power source (not shown). The power supply terminal portion 152 is electrically connected to a connection terminal (not shown) such as a socket or a receptacle. The power supply terminal portion 152 is formed on the first surface portion 110a and the second surface portion 110b. The power supply terminal portion 152 has an elongated shape.
[0086] The power supply terminal portion 152 has two through holes 160. The power supply terminal portion 152 on the first surface portion 110a side and the power supply terminal portion 152 on the second surface portion 110b side are electrically connected by the through holes 160. The through holes 160 will be described later.
[0087] <Power supply pattern 154> The power supply pattern 154 is formed on the third surface portion 110c and the fourth surface portion 110d. The power supply pattern 154 is formed along the length direction of the third surface portion 110c and the fourth surface portion 110d. The power supply pattern 154 is electrically connected to the second pattern conductor 300. The power supply pattern 154 supplies power to the LEDs 400 provided on the polyhedral portion 200.
[0088] <Base terminal section 156> The base terminal portion 156 is electrically connected to a terminal (not shown) of the capacitor 500 (see FIGS. 9 and 10). The base terminal portion 156 is a pattern conductor for directly supplying power to the capacitor 500. A set of two base terminal portions 156 is electrically connected to one capacitor 500. One of the two base terminal portions 156 is a positive electrode, and the other is a negative electrode. The size and position of the base terminal portion 156 may be appropriately determined depending on the size, shape, distance, etc. of the terminal of the capacitor 500. The capacitor 500 provided on the base 100 is supplied with power via the base terminal portion 156.
[0089] <Through hole 160> The through hole 160 has a conical or tapered shape. The radius of the through hole 160 gradually decreases from the surface toward the inside of the base 100. The through hole 160 has conical surfaces facing each other formed on both the first surface portion 110a and the second surface portion 110b, and penetrates the base 100 at the apex of the cone at approximately the center in the thickness direction of the base 100. The through hole 160 has a pattern conductor formed on the surface of the cone. The through hole 160 electrically connects the pattern conductor of the first surface portion and the pattern conductor of the second surface portion. In this embodiment, the base 100 has five through holes 160.
[0090] <<Polyhedral part 200>> The polyhedron portion 200 has electronic components. In this embodiment, at least one LED 400 is provided in the polyhedron portion 200.
[0091] The polyhedral portion 200 has a polyhedral shape. However, the polyhedral portion 200 does not have to have a regular polyhedral shape. The length of the polyhedral portion 200 along a direction perpendicular to the axial direction is greater than the length of the base portion 100.
[0092] The polyhedral portion 200 has a tip portion 202, a front polyhedral portion 210a, a rear polyhedral portion 210b, and a rear portion 220 (see FIG. 5).
[0093] <Tip 202> The tip portion 202 is the portion located at the frontmost position of the polyhedral structure 10. The axis line AX passes through the tip portion 202. In this embodiment, the tip portion 202 does not have any electronic components. Note that the tip portion 202 may be provided with an electronic component such as an LED 400.
[0094] <Virtual plane IP1, front multi-sided section 210a and rear multi-sided section 210b> The front polyhedral portion 210a and the rear polyhedral portion 210b are defined by an imaginary plane IP1. The imaginary plane IP1 is an imaginary flat surface. The imaginary plane IP1 is located between the front polyhedral portion 210a and the rear polyhedral portion 210b. The portion of the polyhedral portion 200 located in front of the imaginary plane IP1 is the front polyhedral portion 210a. The portion of the polyhedral portion 200 located behind the imaginary plane IP1 is the rear polyhedral portion 210b.
[0095] <Front multifaceted part 210a> The front multi-faceted portion 210a has a plurality of polygonal planar portions 212-1. For example, the front multi-faceted portion 210a has five polygonal planar portions 212-1. Specifically, the front multi-faceted portion 210a has polygonal planar portions 212-1A, 212-1B, 212-1C, 212-1D, and 212-1E. When it is not necessary to distinguish between the polygonal planar portions 212-1A to 212-1E or when they cannot be distinguished, they are collectively referred to as polygonal planar portion 212-1.
[0096] FIG. 6 is a diagram showing the appearance of the polyhedral structure 10 as viewed from a direction parallel to the polygonal plane portion 212-1 and the polygonal plane portion 212-2. The polygonal plane portion 212-1A has a normal n1A. The polygonal plane portion 212-1B has a normal n1B. The polygonal plane portion 212-1C has a normal n1C. The polygonal plane portion 212-1D has a normal n1D. The polygonal plane portion 212-1E has a normal n1E. The normal is a straight line that is perpendicular to each of the polygonal plane portions 212-1A, 212-1B, 212-1C, 212-1D, and 212-1E. The directions of the normals n1A to n1E are different from each other. When it is not necessary to distinguish between the normals n1A to n1E or when they cannot be distinguished, they are simply referred to as the normal n1.
[0097] The polygonal plane portion 212-1 has a flat surface having a substantially polygonal shape. The polygonal plane portion 212-1 does not have to have the same shape and size. The polygonal plane portion 212-1 does not have to be a regular polygon shape.
[0098] <Rear multifaceted part 210b> The rear polyhedral portion 210b has a plurality of polygonal planar portions 212-2 and 212-3. For example, the rear polyhedral portion 210b has five polygonal planar portions 212-2 and five polygonal planar portions 212-3. Specifically, the rear polyhedral portion 210b has polygonal planar portions 212-2A, 212-2B, 212-2C, 212-2D, and 212-2E and polygonal planar portions 212-3A, 212-3B, 212-3C, 212-3D, and 212-3E. When it is not necessary to distinguish between the polygonal planar portions 212-2A to 212-2E or when they cannot be distinguished, they are collectively referred to as polygonal planar portion 212-2. Similarly, when there is no need to distinguish between the polygonal planar portions 212-3A to 212-3E or when they cannot be distinguished, they are referred to as polygonal planar portion 212-3.
[0099] FIG. 6 is a diagram showing the appearance of the polyhedral structure 10 along a plane parallel to the polygonal plane portion 212-1 and the polygonal plane portion 212-2. The polygonal plane portion 212-2A has a normal n2A. The polygonal plane portion 212-2B has a normal n2B. The polygonal plane portion 212-2C has a normal n2C. The polygonal plane portion 212-2D has a normal n2D. The polygonal plane portion 212-2E has a normal n2E. The normal is a straight line that is perpendicular to each of the polygonal plane portions 212-2A, 212-2B, 212-2C, 212-2D, and 212-2E. The directions of the normals n2A to n2E are different from each other. When it is not necessary to distinguish between the normals n2A to n2E or when they cannot be distinguished, they are simply referred to as the normal n2.
[0100] The polygonal plane portion 212-2 has a flat surface having a substantially polygonal shape. The polygonal plane portion 212-2 does not have to have the same shape and size. The polygonal plane portion 212-2 does not have to be a regular polygon.

The polygonal planar portion 212-2D is connected to the polygonal planar portion 212-1D via a linear boundary portion 230D. The polygonal planar portion 212-2E is connected to the polygonal planar portion 212-1E via a linear boundary portion 230E.
[0102] Two polygonal planar portions 212-1 and 212-2 having different normal directions are connected to each other across boundary portions 230A-230E. The boundary portions 230A-230E are ridges between the two polygonal planar portions 212-1 and 212-2. The boundary portions 230A, 230B, 230C, 230D, and 230E form a substantially pentagonal boundary portion 230. The boundary portion 230 forms a single substantially pentagonal plane. The single plane formed by the boundary portion 230 defines a virtual plane IP1. The single plane formed by the boundary portion 230 is included in the virtual plane IP1.
[0103] The polygonal planar portion 212-3A is located between the polygonal planar portions 212-2A and 212-2B. The polygonal planar portion 212-3A is connected to the polygonal planar portion 212-2A via a linear boundary portion 240AA. The polygonal planar portion 212-3A is connected to the polygonal planar portion 212-2B via a linear boundary portion 240AB.
[0104] The polygonal planar portion 212-3B is located between the polygonal planar portions 212-2B and 212-2C. The polygonal planar portion 212-3B is connected to the polygonal planar portion 212-2C via a linear boundary portion 240BC.
[0105] The polygonal planar portion 212-3C is located between the polygonal planar portions 212-2C and 212-2D. The polygonal planar portion 212-3D is connected to the polygonal planar portion 212-2E via a linear boundary portion 240DE.
[0107] The polygonal planar portion 212-3E is located between the polygonal planar portions 212-2E and 212-2A. The polygonal planar portion 212-3E is connected to the polygonal planar portion 212-2E via a linear boundary portion 240EE. The polygonal planar portion 212-3E is connected to the polygonal planar portion 212-2A via a linear boundary portion 240EA.
[0108] The two polygonal planar portions 212-2 and 212-3, whose normal directions are different from each other, are connected to each other across boundary portions 240AA, 240AB, 240BB, 240BC, 240CC, 240CD, 240DD, 240DE, 240EE, and 240EA. The boundary portions 240AA, 240AB, 240BB, 240BC, 240CC, 240CD, 240DD, 240DE, 240EE, and 240EA form ridges between the two polygonal planar portions 212-2 and 212-3.
[0109] FIG. 7 is a diagram showing the appearance of the polyhedral structure 10 seen from a direction parallel to the polygonal plane portion 212-3. The polygonal plane portion 212-3A has a normal n3A. The polygonal plane portion 212-3B has a normal n3B. The polygonal plane portion 212-3C has a normal n3C. The polygonal plane portion 212-3D has a normal n3D. The polygonal plane portion 212-3E has a normal n3E. The normal is a straight line that is perpendicular to each of the polygonal plane portions 212-3A, 212-3B, 212-3C, 212-3D, and 212-3E. The directions of the normals n3A to n3E are different from each other. When it is not necessary to distinguish between the normals n3A to n3E or when they cannot be distinguished, they are simply referred to as the normal n3.
[0110] The polygonal plane portion 212-3 has a flat surface having a substantially polygonal shape. The polygonal plane portion 212-3 does not have to have the same shape and size. The polygonal plane portion 212-3 does not have to be a regular polygon.
[0111] The polygonal planar portion 212-3A is connected to the rear portion 220 via a linear boundary portion 250A. The polygonal planar portion 212-3D is connected to the rear portion 220 via a linear boundary portion 250D. The polygonal planar portion 212-3E is connected to the rear portion 220 via a linear boundary portion 250E.
[0112] The rear polyhedral portion 210b is located between the imaginary plane IP1 and the imaginary plane IP2 (described later). In other words, the rear polyhedral portion 210b is located in the area sandwiched between the imaginary plane IP1 and the imaginary plane IP2. The five polygonal plane portions 212-2A, 212-2B, 212-2C, 212-2D, and 212-2E and the five polygonal plane portions 212-3A, 212-3B, 212-3C, 212-3D, and 212-3E exist in the area sandwiched between the imaginary plane IP1 and the imaginary plane IP2. The five polygonal planar portions 212-2A, 212-2B, 212-2C, 212-2D, and 212-2E and the five polygonal planar portions 212-3A, 212-3B, 212-3C, 212-3D, and 212-3E are arranged alternately around the axis AX between imaginary planes IP1 and IP2.
[0113] <Rear portion 220, boundary portion 250, imaginary plane IP2> The rear portion 220 is located on the rear side of the polyhedral portion 200. The rear portion 220 has a substantially flat shape that is substantially pentagonal. Although the rear portion 220 has a notch 290, which will be described later, the rear portion 220 has a flat shape overall. The rear portion 220 is located at the boundary between the base portion 100 and the polyhedral portion 200.
[0114] The polygonal planar portion 212-3 and the rear surface portion 220 are connected to each other with boundary portions 250A to 250E interposed therebetween. The boundary portions 230A to 230E form ridges between the polygonal planar portion 212-3 and the rear surface portion 220.
[0115] The rear surface portion 220 has a boundary portion 250. The boundary portion 250 is formed in a substantially pentagonal shape by the boundary portions 250A to 250E. The boundary portion 250 forms a single plane in a substantially pentagonal shape. The single plane formed by the boundary portion 250 defines an imaginary plane IP2. The single plane formed by the boundary portion 250 is included in the imaginary plane IP2.
[0116] In this embodiment, only a pattern conductor (a rear pattern 340 described later) is formed on the rear portion 220. In this embodiment, no electronic components are mounted on the rear portion 220. Note that the rear portion 220 may be appropriately mounted with electronic components. The rear portion 220 has a substantially pentagonal flat shape. The front end portion 102 of the base portion 100 is connected to the approximate center of the rear portion 220.
[0117] <Normals n1A~n1E(n1), n2A~n2E(n2), n3A~n3E(n3)> Fig. 6 is a diagram showing the appearance of the polyhedral structure 10 as viewed from a direction parallel to the polygonal planar portion 212-1 and the polygonal planar portion 212-2. In this state, the normals n1A and n2A and the axis AX are included in the same plane. Fig. 6 is a diagram showing the appearance of the polyhedral structure 10 as viewed from a direction perpendicular to the plane including the normals n1A and n2A and the axis AX. The polygonal planar portion 212-1A and the polygonal planar portion 212-2A extend in a direction perpendicular to the plane including the normals n1A and n2A and the axis AX.
[0118] Fig. 7 is a diagram showing the appearance of the polyhedral structure 10 along a plane parallel to the polygonal plane portion 212-3. In this state, the normal n3A and the axis AX are included in the same plane. Fig. 7 is a diagram showing the appearance of the polyhedral structure 10 from a direction perpendicular to the plane containing the normal n3A and the axis AX. The polygonal plane portion 212-3A extends in a direction perpendicular to the plane containing the normal n3A and the axis AX.
[0119] Fig. 8 is a diagram showing a state in which three normals n1, n2, and n3 are virtually arranged on the same plane. Fig. 8 shows the three normals n1, n2, and n3 with their starting points aligned on the axis AX.
[0120] Polygonal planar portions 212-1A, 212-1B, 212-1C, 212-1D, and 212-1E of the front multifaceted portion 210a face in different directions, and the directions of normals n1A, n1B, n1C, n1D, and n1E are different from one another.
[0121] Polygonal planar portions 212-2A, 212-2B, 212-2C, 212-2D, and 212-2E of the rear polygonal portion 210b face in different directions, and the directions of normals n2A, n2B, n2C, n2D, and n2E are different from one another.
[0122] Polygonal planar portions 212-3A, 212-3B, 212-3C, 212-3D, and 212-3E of the rear polygonal portion 210b face in different directions, and the directions of normals n3A, n3B, n3C, n3D, and n3E are different from one another.
[0123] Furthermore, the directions of the normals n1A to n1E, the normals n2A to n2E, and the normals n3A to n3E are different from one another.
[0124] As described above, the directions of the normal lines n1A, n1B, n1C, n1D, and n1E are different from each other. However, the angles between the normal lines n1A, n1B, n1C, n1D, and n1E and the axis line AX are the same. In other words, the normal lines n1A, n1B, n1C, n1D, and n1E have rotational symmetry with respect to the axis line AX. As shown in FIG. 8, the normal lines n1A to n1E have an angle θ1 with respect to the axis line AX. The polygonal plane sections 212-1A to 212-1E of the front polyhedral section 210a have normal lines n1A to n1E, respectively, and the angles between the normal lines n1A to n1E and the axis line AX are the same angle θ1. In this embodiment, θ1 may be used as a symbol for identifying an angle or as a symbol for indicating the size of the angle.
[0125] The polygonal plane portions 212-1A, 212-1B, 212-1C, 212-1D, and 212-1E of the front multi-faceted portion 210a face in a direction at an angle θ1 with respect to the axis line AX. This allows the polygonal plane portions 212-1A to 212-1E to face in the same direction. For example, when the LEDs 400 are provided on the polygonal plane portions 212-1A to 212-1E, the light can be emitted with the same degree of spreading and the same degree of dispersion with respect to the axis line AX. In this case, light is emitted that spreads forward.
[0126] Similarly, the directions of the normals n2A, n2B, n2C, n2D, and n2E are different from each other. However, the angles between the normals n2A, n2B, n2C, n2D, and n2E and the axis AX are the same. The normals n2A, n2B, n2C, n2D, and n2E have rotational symmetry with respect to the axis AX. As shown in FIG. 8, the normals n2A to n2E have an angle θ2 with respect to the axis AX. The angle θ2 is larger than the angle θ1. The polygonal plane portions 212-2A to 212-2E of the rear polyhedral portion 210b have normals n2A to n2E, respectively, and the angles between the normals n2A to n2E and the axis AX are the same angle θ2. In this embodiment, θ2 may be used as a symbol to identify the angle or as a symbol to indicate the size of the angle.
[0127] The polygonal plane portions 212-2A, 212-2B, 212-2C, 212-2D, and 212-2E of the rear polygonal portion 210b face in the direction of the angle θ2 with respect to the axis line AX. Therefore, the directions of the polygonal plane portions 212-2A to 212-2E can be aligned. For example, when the LEDs 400 are provided on the polygonal plane portions 212-2A to 212-2E, the light can be emitted with the same degree of spreading and the same degree of dispersion with respect to the axis line AX. In this case, the light emitted spreads forward. Note that the light emitted spreads more easily to the side than the polygonal plane portions 212-2A to 212-2E described above.
[0128] Unlike the polygonal planar portions 212-1A to 212-1E, the polygonal planar portions 212-2A to 212-2E face in the direction of the angle θ2 with respect to the axis AX. Therefore, the degree of expansion and dispersion with respect to the axis AX can be made different from those of the polygonal planar portions 212-1A to 212-1E.
[0129] Furthermore, the directions of the normal lines n3A, n3B, n3C, n3D, and n3E are different from each other. However, the angles that the normal lines n3A, n3B, n3C, n3D, and n3E make with the axis line AX are the same. The normal lines n3A, n3B, n3C, n3D, and n3E have rotational symmetry with respect to the axis line AX. As shown in FIG. 8, the normal lines n3A to n3E have an angle θ3 with respect to the axis line AX. The angle θ3 is larger than the angle θ2. The polygonal plane sections 212-3A to 212-3E of the rear polyhedral section 210b have normal lines n3A to n3E, respectively, and the angles that the normal lines n3A to n3E make with the axis line AX are the same angle θ3. In this embodiment, θ3 may be used as a symbol for identifying the angle or as a symbol for indicating the size of the angle.
[0130] The polygonal plane portions 212-3A, 212-3B, 212-3C, 212-3D, and 212-3E of the rear polygonal portion 210b face in a direction at an angle θ3 with respect to the axis line AX. Therefore, the directions of the polygonal plane portions 212-3A to 212-3E can be aligned. For example, when the LEDs 400 are provided on the polygonal plane portions 212-3A to 212-3E, light can be emitted with the same degree of spreading and the same degree of dispersion with respect to the axis line AX. In this case, light is emitted that spreads sideways while facing rearward.
[0131] Unlike polygonal planar portions 212-1A to 212-1E and polygonal planar portions 212-2A to 212-2E, polygonal planar portions 212-3A to 212-3E face in the direction of angle θ3 with respect to axis AX. Therefore, the degree of expansion and dispersion with respect to axis AX can be made different from those of polygonal planar portions 212-1A to 212-1E and polygonal planar portions 212-2A to 212-2E.
[0132] <Direction and spread of light> As described above, the front multi-faceted portion 210a has only the polygonal flat portions 212-1A to 212-1E. The front multi-faceted portion 210a can form light that spreads forward at an angle θ1 with respect to the front (the +X direction of the axis AX). The angle θ1 is an acute angle (see FIGS. 6 and 8). The front multi-faceted portion 210a can form light that spreads forward.
[0133] Moreover, the rear polyhedral portion 210b has polygonal planar portions 212-2A to 212-2E and polygonal planar portions 212-3A to 212-3E. This makes it possible to form light that spreads forward (in the +X direction of the axis AX) at an angle θ2 larger than the angle θ1 and an angle θ3 larger than the angle θ2. The angle θ2 is larger than the angle θ1 but is an acute angle (see FIGS. 6 and 8). The angle θ3 is an obtuse angle (see FIGS. 7 and 8). That is, the rear polyhedral portion 210b can form light that spreads more toward the side (in a direction perpendicular to the axis AX) than the front polyhedral portion 210a.
[0134] Moreover, the polygonal flat portions 212-2A to 212-2E form light that spreads laterally while heading forward, and the polygonal flat portions 212-3A to 212-3E form light that spreads laterally while heading backward. The rear polygonal portion 210b can form light that spreads in different lateral directions.
[0135] In the above example, the front multi-faceted portion 210a has only the polygonal plane portions 212-1A to 212-1E whose normal direction is at an angle θ1 with respect to the axis line AX, but is not limited to this. The front multi-faceted portion 210a may have polygonal plane portions that form multiple angles with the front (axis line AX). The light can travel and spread in a manner appropriate for the purpose.
[0136] In the above example, the rear multi-faceted portion 210b has two types of polygonal plane portions, namely, the polygonal plane portions 212-2A to 212-2E whose normal direction is at an angle θ2 with respect to the axis line AX, and the polygonal plane portions 212-3A to 212-3E whose normal direction is at an angle θ3 with respect to the axis line AX, but this is not limited to the above. The rear multi-faceted portion 210b may have polygonal plane portions whose normal lines form three or more different angles with respect to the front (axis line AX). This allows the light to travel and spread in a way that suits the application.
[0137] Furthermore, the five polygonal planar portions 212-2A, 212-2B, 212-2C, 212-2D, and 212-2E and the five polygonal planar portions 212-3A, 212-3B, 212-3C, 212-3D, and 212-3E are arranged alternately around the axis AX. This makes it easier to align the state of light emitted from each of the five polygonal planar portions 212-2A, 212-2B, 212-2C, 212-2D, and 212-2E and spreading around the axis AX with the state of light emitted from each of the five polygonal planar portions 212-3A, 212-3B, 212-3C, 212-3D, and 212-3E and spreading around the axis AX, thereby reducing unevenness in brightness in the circumferential direction.
[0138] <Hole 280 and notch 290> The polyhedral portion 200 may have holes 280 and notches 290. The holes 280 and notches 290 increase the surface area of the polyhedral portion 200. The holes 280 and notches 290 facilitate dissipation of heat generated from electronic components such as the LEDs 400. The depth, diameter, number, position, etc. of the holes 280 and notches 290 may be appropriately determined depending on the size, shape, and type of the electronic components to be mounted, and the size and shape of the connection terminal portion 310 described later.
[0139] <<Second Pattern Conductor 300>> The polyhedron portion 200 has a second pattern conductor 300. The second pattern conductor 300 has a connection terminal portion 310, a focusing pattern 320, a guide pattern 330, and a back pattern 340.
[0140] <Connection terminal portion 310> The connection terminal portions 310 are formed on each of the polygonal plane portions 212-1A to 212-1E of the front polygonal portion 210a, each of the polygonal plane portions 212-2A to 212-2E of the rear polygonal portion 210b, and each of the polygonal plane portions 212-3A to 212-3E of the rear polygonal portion 210b.
[0141] The connection terminal portion 310 is electrically connected to the terminal (not shown) of the LED 400, similar to the base terminal portion 156 (see Figs. 9 and 10). The connection terminal portion 310 is a pattern conductor for directly supplying power to the LED 400. A set of two connection terminal portions 310 is electrically connected to one LED 400. One of the two connection terminal portions 310 is a positive electrode, and the other is a negative electrode. The size and position of the connection terminal portion 310 may be appropriately determined according to the size, shape, distance, etc. of the terminal of the LED 400. The capacitor 500 provided on the base portion 100 is supplied with power via the connection terminal portion 310.
[0142] The connection terminal portions 310 of two adjacent polygonal planar portions 212-1 and 212-2 are electrically connected via boundary portions 230A to 230E. This allows the LEDs 400 provided on the polygonal planar portion 212-1 and the LEDs 400 provided on the polygonal planar portion 212-2 to be connected in series.
[0143] The connection terminal portions 310 of two adjacent polygonal flat portions 212-2 and 212-3 are electrically connected via boundary portions 240AA, 240AB, 240BB, 240BC, 240CC, 240CD, 240DD, 240DE, 240EE, and 240EA. This allows the LEDs 400 provided on the polygonal flat portion 212-2 and the LEDs 400 provided on the polygonal flat portion 212-3 to be connected in series.
[0144] The connection terminal portion 310 of the polygonal plane portion 212-3 and a rear pattern 340 (described later) of the rear portion 220 are electrically connected via boundary portions 250A to 250E.
[0145] <Focusing Pattern 320> As shown in FIG. 1, the focusing pattern 320 is electrically connected to the connection terminal portions 310 of the polygonal flat portions 212-1A to 212-1E of the front multi-faceted portion 210a. The focusing pattern 320 has an annular shape. The focusing pattern 320 is formed on the front multi-faceted portion 210a. The focusing pattern 320 is formed at a position farthest from the base 100 on the front multi-faceted portion 210a. The focusing pattern 320 circulates around the axis AX. The focusing pattern 320 is formed across the polygonal flat portions 212-1A to 212-1E. The focusing pattern 320 is electrically connected to the connection terminal portions 310 of the polygonal flat portions 212-1A to 212-1E for each of the polygonal flat portions 212-1A to 212-1E.
[0146] <Guide pattern 330> The guide pattern 330 electrically connects the focusing pattern 320 to the power supply pattern 154. The guide pattern 330 is continuously formed across the polygonal flat portions 212 of the front multi-faceted portion 210a and the rear multi-faceted portion 210b. The guide pattern 330 is formed at a distance from the connection terminal portion 310 in the front multi-faceted portion 210a and the rear multi-faceted portion 210b. The guide pattern 330 may be electrically directly connected to the connection terminal portions 310 of the front multi-faceted portion 210a and the rear multi-faceted portion 210b, or may be electrically connected via the focusing pattern 320.
[0147] <Rear pattern 340> The rear pattern 340 is formed on the back surface portion 220. The rear pattern 340 is electrically connected to both the connection terminal portion 310 of the polygonal flat portion 212-3 and the base terminal portion 156 of the base 100. Thereby, the LED 400 provided on the polygonal flat portion 212-3 and the capacitor 500 provided on the base 100 can be connected in series.
[0148] <<<Connection of LED 400>>> A plurality of LEDs 400 are mounted on the polyhedral structure 10. A row of five LEDs 400 is electrically arranged in parallel on the polyhedral structure 10. One end of the row of five LEDs 400 is electrically connected to the focusing pattern 320. The other end of the row of five LEDs 400 is electrically connected to the power supply terminal portion 152.
[0149] In each LED 400 row, a plurality of LEDs 400 are electrically connected in series. In this way, by connecting a plurality of LED 400 rows in parallel, each of which has a plurality of LEDs 400 connected in series, the plurality of LEDs 400 can be arranged in a uniform distribution on the polyhedral part 200 so that power can be supplied to the plurality of LEDs 400. In addition, by connecting a plurality of LEDs 400 in series, the voltage applied to each of the LEDs 400 can be reduced. Therefore, even when the polyhedral structure 10 is used, for example, by connecting it to a high-voltage power source as an in-vehicle lighting or the like, a low-voltage LED 400 can be used, and the range of types that can be used as the LED 400 can be expanded and the LED 400 can be constructed at low cost.
[0150] For example, the electrical connection is as follows: power supply terminal portion 152 → base terminal portion 156 → capacitor 500 → base terminal portion 156 → (branched into five) → back pattern 340 → connection terminal portion 310 → LED 400 → connection terminal portion 310 → ... → connection terminal portion 310 → LED 400 → connection terminal portion 310 → focusing pattern 320 (concentrated into one) → guide pattern 330 → power supply pattern 154 → power supply terminal portion 152, and power is supplied to LED 400.
[0151] In this way, the polyhedral structure of this embodiment equipped with LEDs can be used as various types of lighting, including automotive lighting such as corner lamps, tail lamps, and turn signals, as well as decorative lighting such as chandeliers and mirror balls.
[0152] <<<Modifications>>> In the above example, the LED 400 emits light in multiple directions, but the polyhedral structure can be equipped with a speaker that emits sound, a microphone that receives sound, an image pickup device that captures images, a display, etc. In other words, the polyhedral structure may be one that provides characteristics such as multidirectionality or omnidirectionality and is related to the propagation of various types of waves such as light, sound, and electromagnetic waves.
[0153] <<<<Scope of embodiment>>>> As described above, the present embodiment has been described. However, the description and drawings forming a part of this disclosure should not be understood as being limiting. Various embodiments not described here are included. [Explanation of symbols]
