AI Technical Summary
Follower bearings face challenges in suppressing operating noise and preventing damage to other members due to the outer ring's interaction, while maintaining stable operation even under load conditions.
The follower bearing design incorporates an outer ring with a steel first member and a resin second member, along with a retainer that holds rolling elements. The resin second member is strategically designed with opposing surfaces that create gaps with the retainer, reducing the likelihood of contact and ensuring stable rotation.
This design effectively suppresses operating noise and prevents damage to other members, ensuring stable operation of the follower bearing even when a load is applied from the outer periphery.

Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a follower bearing. [Background technology]
[0002] There is known a rolling bearing in which an outer ring and a resin pulley are integrated (see, for example, Patent Document 1). According to Patent Document 1, the outer ring has a flange facing outward in the radial direction at one end. Patent Document 1 states that one axial end face of the flange is exposed from the resin pulley to improve the heat dissipation of the outer ring. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0003] [Patent Document 1] JP 2009-191900 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] In a follower bearing, there are cases where it is required to suppress operating noise, and further suppress aggressiveness to other members that come into contact with the outer ring. By configuring the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring to be covered with resin, it is possible to suppress operating noise and aggressiveness to other members. Furthermore, in a follower bearing, there are cases where a load is applied to the outer ring from the outer peripheral side during operation. In such a case, since the outer peripheral surface of the outer ring is covered with resin, deformation of the bearing may occur. Even in such a situation, it is required that the bearing operates stably.
[0005] Therefore, one object is to provide a follower bearing that can suppress operating noise and attacking other components while ensuring stable operation of the bearing. [Means for solving the problem]
[0006] A follower bearing according to the present disclosure includes an inner member having an annular first raceway surface on its outer circumferential surface, an outer ring having an annular second raceway surface on its inner circumferential surface that faces the first raceway surface, a plurality of rolling elements arranged on an annular orbit along the first raceway surface and the second raceway surface so as to contact the first raceway surface and the second raceway surface, and a cage that holds the plurality of rolling elements. The outer ring includes a first member made of steel and having an annular shape, and a second member made of resin and having an annular shape that covers the outer circumferential surface of the first member. The first member has a hollow cylindrical shape and includes a tubular portion including the second raceway surface. The second member includes a first portion that is arranged on one side of the tubular portion in the axial direction and has a first opposing surface that faces the outer circumferential surface of the cage in the radial direction, and a second portion that is arranged on the other side of the tubular portion in the axial direction and has a second opposing surface that faces the outer circumferential surface of the cage in the radial direction. In the radial direction, the first opposing surface and the second opposing surface are each arranged on the outer circumferential side of the second raceway surface. Effect of the Invention

[0009] [Overview of the embodiment] The follower bearing of the present disclosure includes an inner member having an annular first raceway surface on its outer circumferential surface, an outer ring having an annular second raceway surface on its inner circumferential surface that faces the first raceway surface, a plurality of rolling elements arranged on an annular orbit along the first raceway surface and the second raceway surface so as to contact the first raceway surface and the second raceway surface, and a cage that holds the plurality of rolling elements. The outer ring includes a first member that is made of steel and has an annular shape, and a second member that is made of resin and has an annular shape that covers the outer circumferential surface of the first member. The first member has a hollow cylindrical shape and includes a tubular portion that includes the second raceway surface.
[0010] In the follower bearing of the present disclosure, the outer ring includes a second member made of resin. This achieves suppression of aggressiveness to other members in contact with the outer ring and suppression of operating noise. The follower bearing of the present disclosure also includes a retainer that holds a plurality of rolling elements. This ensures stable maintenance of the posture of the rolling elements during operation of the bearing. During operation of the bearing, the retainer rotates together with the rolling elements. In the follower bearing, a load may be applied from the outer periphery side of the outer ring. When a load is applied to the outer ring, it is considered that the second member made of resin will deform toward the inner periphery side. This may cause contact between the retainer that holds the rolling elements and the second member, which may hinder rotation of the retainer.
[0011] In the follower bearing of the present disclosure, the second member made of resin includes a first portion disposed on one side of the cylindrical portion in the axial direction and a second portion disposed on the other side of the cylindrical portion. In the radial direction, the first opposing surface included in the first portion and the second opposing surface included in the second portion are disposed on the outer periphery side of the second raceway surface. In this way, a gap is formed between the first opposing surface of the first portion and the outer periphery surface of the cage and between the second opposing surface of the second portion and the outer periphery surface of the cage. Therefore, even if a load is applied to the outer ring of the follower bearing from the outer periphery side and the second member made of resin is deformed to the inner periphery side, the risk of contact between the first opposing surface of the first portion and the outer periphery surface of the cage and the second opposing surface of the second portion and the outer periphery surface of the cage can be reduced. As a result, the risk of contact between the second member of the outer ring and the cage, which would hinder stable rotation of the cage, can be reduced. In this way, according to the above follower bearing, it is possible to suppress operating noise and aggressiveness to other members, while ensuring stable operation of the bearing.
[0012] In this disclosure, "resin" includes rubber. That is, the second member may be made of rubber. In this disclosure, "second member made of resin" includes second member made of fiber-reinforced resin. That is, the resin constituting the second member may include reinforcing fibers. Examples of reinforcing fibers that can be used include glass fibers and carbon fibers.
[0013] In the above follower bearing, in a cross section cut by a plane including the rotation axis of the follower bearing, the outer peripheral surface of the cage may extend straight along the axial direction. The first and second opposing surfaces may extend straight along the axial direction. In this way, when a flange portion provided on the rotation axis is arranged in the axial direction of the first and second parts, a large contact area between the flange portion and the first and second parts in the axial direction can be secured. Therefore, the operation of the outer ring during operation of the bearing can be stabilized, and the load can be dispersed when a thrust load is generated. As a result, a more stable operation of the bearing can be secured. Note that extending straight means that in a cross section including the rotation axis, a virtual line representing the rotation axis and a straight line representing the outer peripheral surface, the first and second opposing surfaces are parallel. Here, parallel does not mean that they are strictly parallel geometrically, but also includes cases where the angle between one and the other is 3° or less.
[0014] In addition, in the above-mentioned follower bearing, at least one of the first and second opposing surfaces may be inclined with respect to the axial direction so that the distance between the first and second opposing surfaces and the outer peripheral surface of the cage increases from the side closer to the cylindrical portion to the side farther from the cylindrical portion in a cross section of the follower bearing cut along a plane including the rotation axis of the follower bearing. In this way, when a load is applied from the outer peripheral side of the outer ring, the arrangement relationship between the deformed first and second opposing surfaces and the rotation axis, and therefore the outer peripheral surface of the cage, can be made closer to parallel. Therefore, the risk of contact between the second member and the cage can be reduced, and stable operation of the bearing can be further ensured.
[0015] In the above follower bearing, at least one of the first and second parts may include a tongue-shaped portion extending to a region between the cage and the cylindrical portion. In this way, the tongue-shaped portion can greatly reduce the risk of contact between the cage and the cylindrical portion. This can suppress wear of the cage due to contact with the cylindrical portion. Therefore, it is possible to more reliably ensure stable operation of the bearing.
[0016] In the above follower bearing, the cylindrical portion may have a facing region that faces the outer peripheral surface of the cage in the radial direction. By doing so, even if the outer ring is deformed toward the inner peripheral side due to a load applied from the outer peripheral side, the facing region of the cylindrical portion will come into contact with the cage. This can reduce the risk of the cage coming into contact with the second member. Therefore, it is easy to ensure smooth rotation of the cage.
[0017] In the follower bearing, the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical portion may extend straight along the axial direction. In this way, the shape of the cylindrical portion can be made relatively simple, and productivity can be improved.
[0018] In the follower bearing, the first member may include a protrusion extending radially outward from the cylindrical portion. The protrusion having such a configuration can further reduce the risk of the first member and the second member being separated in the axial direction.
[0019] The follower bearing may further include a rotation suppression mechanism that suppresses relative rotation in the circumferential direction of the second member with respect to the first member. This makes it possible to restrict the relative rotation of the second member with respect to the first member, thereby more reliably ensuring stable operation of the bearing.
[0020] In the follower bearing, the rotation suppression mechanism may include a recess recessed into a round hole shape from the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical portion. A part of the second member may enter the recess. In this manner, the recess and the second member entering the recess can suppress the relative rotation of the second member with respect to the first member. In addition, the axial movement of the second member with respect to the first member can also be restricted. This configuration can be easily formed because the recess having the above configuration can be formed in the cylindrical portion, and then resin can be poured into the recess when the second member is provided on the outer circumferential side of the first member.
[0021] In the above follower bearing, the retainer may be a welded retainer. Since a welded retainer has good productivity, by doing so, it is possible to improve productivity.
[0022] In the above follower bearing, the resin constituting the second member may be made of an elastomer. This makes it possible to efficiently absorb vibrations and shocks that are applied to the follower bearing. This makes it possible to ensure more stable operation of the bearing.
[0023] In the follower bearing, the elastomer may be a thermoplastic elastomer. In this way, for example, injection molding can be used to improve productivity. As the thermoplastic elastomer, for example, at least one of a urethane-based elastomer, a polyamide-based elastomer, a polyester-based elastomer, a polystyrene-based elastomer, a polyolefin-based elastomer, and a polyvinyl chloride-based elastomer may be selected. Furthermore, as the thermoplastic elastomer, for example, at least one of a urethane-based elastomer, a polyamide-based elastomer, and a polyester-based elastomer may be selected.
[0024] In the follower bearing, the rolling elements may be rollers. In this way, it becomes easy to achieve a sufficient load resistance while suppressing the cross-sectional height of the follower bearing.
[0025] [Specific Example of the Embodiment] Next, an example of a specific embodiment of the follower bearing of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the drawings. In the following drawings, the same or corresponding parts are designated by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof will not be repeated.
[0026] (Embodiment 1) Fig. 1 is a schematic perspective view showing a structure of a follower bearing according to a first embodiment which is an embodiment of the present disclosure. Fig. 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing the structure of the follower bearing shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along a plane including the rotation axis of the follower bearing. Fig. 3 is a schematic perspective view showing the structure of a first member of the outer ring shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 4 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing an enlarged view of a portion of the follower bearing shown in Fig. 2. Fig. 5 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing an enlarged view of region V in Fig. 2.
[0027] 1 to 5, follower bearing 1A in this embodiment includes shaft member 30 as an inner member, an outer ring 60, a plurality of rollers 70 as rolling elements, and a cage 80 that holds rollers 70. In addition, in Fig. 2, rotating shaft 31 which is the central axis of shaft member 30 is shown by a dashed line.
[0028] The shaft member 30 includes a rod-shaped (solid cylindrical) main body 10, a flange 12 formed at one end of the main body 10 and having a diameter larger than that of the main body 10, and a side plate 20 which is a ring installed coaxially on the main body 10 so as to circumferentially surround a part of the outer circumferential surface of the main body 10. The main body 10 has a first end face 13 which is one end in the axial direction, and a second end face 15 which is the other end opposite to the first end face 13. Both the first end face 13 and the second end face 15 have a circular planar shape.
[0029] A hexagonal hole 13A having a regular hexagonal prism shape is formed in a region of the first end face 13 including a region intersecting with the rotation axis 31, which is the central axis of the shaft member 30. A threaded portion 14 having a helical thread groove is disposed in a region of the main body 10 including an end portion (the other end portion) on the second end face 15 side. With this structure, when installing the follower bearing 1A, for example, the follower bearing 1A can be fixed to the retaining member by passing the shaft member 30 through the housing hole and screwing a nut onto the threaded portion 14.
[0030] The main body 10 includes a solid cylindrical shaft portion 17 including a threaded portion 14, and a large diameter portion 16 that is arranged between the shaft portion 17 and a region where the flange portion 12 is located in the axial direction and has a larger diameter than the shaft portion 17. The diameter of the large diameter portion 16 is smaller than the diameter of the flange portion 12. The first raceway surface 11 having a cylindrical shape is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the large diameter portion 16. That is, the shaft member 30 has the first raceway surface 11 in an annular shape on the outer circumferential surface. In this embodiment, the first protrusion that has an annular shape with a central axis coinciding with the first raceway surface 11, is arranged on one side in the axial direction with respect to the first raceway surface 11, and protrudes radially outward from the outer periphery of the main body 10 is the flange portion 12. The outer periphery of the main body 10 in the region where the flange portion 12 is located is illustrated by dashed lines in Figs. 2, 4, and 5.
[0031] The annular side plate 20 has a first end face 23 which is one end face, a second end face 24 which is the other end face, an outer circumferential surface 21, and an inner circumferential surface 22. The first end face 23 and the second end face 24 are parallel. The outer circumferential surface 21 and the inner circumferential surface 22 are concentric cylindrical surfaces. The side plate 20 is arranged so that the first end face 23 contacts a step surface 16A (see Figs. 2 and 4), which is an end face (step portion) of the large diameter portion 16 on the shaft portion 17 side in the axial direction. The side plate 20 has an inner circumference (diameter of the inner circumferential surface 22) which corresponds to the outer circumferential surface of the shaft portion 17. The side plate 20 is press-fitted into the shaft portion 17 and fixed to the shaft portion 17. In this embodiment, the second protrusion, which has an annular shape with a central axis coinciding with the first raceway surface 11, is disposed on the other axial side of the first raceway surface 11, and protrudes radially outward from the outer periphery of the main body portion 10, is the side plate 20. The shaft member 30 is made of steel such as carbon steel for machine construction, alloy steel for machine construction, or bearing steel. Of the shaft member 30, at least a region of the main body portion 10 including the first raceway surface 11 may be quench-hardened. Also, a part or the entirety of the side plate 20 may be quench-hardened.
[0032] The outer ring 60 has an annular second raceway surface 41 on its inner circumferential surface, which faces the first raceway surface 11. The outer ring 60 includes a first member 40 and a second member 50. The first member 40 has a hollow cylindrical shape and includes a tubular portion 42 including the second raceway surface 41, and a protrusion 43 extending radially outward from the tubular portion 42. The first member 40 is made of steel. For example, mild steel, carbon steel for mechanical construction, alloy steel for mechanical construction, etc. can be used as the steel constituting the first member 40. The first member 40 may be quench-hardened. The first member 40 may be formed by pressing or drawing using a steel plate made of mild steel, for example.
[0033] The cylindrical portion 42 has a second raceway surface 41 which is an inner peripheral surface, an outer peripheral surface 44A, a first end face 45A which is one end face in the axial direction, and an other end 46 in the axial direction. The first member 40 includes the second raceway surface 41. The first end face 45A of the first member 40 and the flange portion 12 face each other. That is, the flange portion 12 and the first member 40 face each other in the axial direction.
[0034] The thickness of the cylindrical portion 42 and the thickness of the protrusion 43 are the same. In this embodiment, the outer peripheral surface 44A has a shape that extends straight along the axial direction. That is, the outer peripheral surface 44A is not provided with a recess that reduces the thickness. In this way, the shape of the cylindrical portion 42 can be made relatively simple, and productivity can be improved. The first member 40 is manufactured, for example, by preparing an annular member, bending one end toward the outer periphery to form the flange-like protrusion 43, and leaving the other parts as they are to form the cylindrical portion 42.
[0035] The protrusion 43 is connected to the other end 46 of the cylindrical portion 42 in the axial direction. The protrusion 43 is plate-shaped. The protrusion 43 has a circular ring shape that is continuous over the entire circumferential area of the first member 40. The protrusion 43 has a second end face 45B, which is the other end face in the axial direction, an outer circumferential surface 44B, and a side face 45C located on the opposite side of the second end face 45B in the axial direction. The boundary between the end 46 and the protrusion 43 is shown by a dashed line in Figs. 2 and 4. The second end face 45B and the first end face 23 of the side plate 20 face each other. That is, the side plate 20 and the first member 40 face each other in the axial direction.
[0036] The protrusion 43 is formed with a notch 47 recessed radially inward (see FIG. 3 in particular). A plurality of notches 47 are formed at intervals in the circumferential direction. The notches 47 are formed so as to penetrate the plate-shaped protrusion 43 in the thickness direction.
[0037] The second member 50 has an annular shape. The second member 50 is made of resin. Specifically, the second member 50 is made of urethane rubber. The resin constituting the second member 50 may be at least one resin selected from the group consisting of polyamide, polyacetal, polyphenylene sulfide, polyester, polyamideimide, polyimide, polyetheretherketone, and polyurethane. The resin constituting the second member 50 may be made of elastomer. By doing so, it is possible to efficiently absorb vibrations and shocks loaded on the follower bearing 1A. Therefore, it is possible to ensure more stable operation of the bearing. The elastomer may be a thermoplastic elastomer. By doing so, it is possible to improve productivity by using, for example, injection molding. As the thermoplastic elastomer, at least one of, for example, a urethane-based elastomer, a polyamide-based elastomer, a polyester-based elastomer, a polystyrene-based elastomer, a polyolefin-based elastomer, and a polyvinyl chloride-based elastomer may be selected. Furthermore, as the thermoplastic elastomer, for example, at least one of a urethane-based elastomer, a polyamide-based elastomer, and a polyester-based elastomer may be selected. This also applies to the following embodiments. The second member 50 is arranged coaxially with the first member 40. The second member 50 covers the entire outer peripheral surfaces 44A, 44B of the first member 40. The second member 50 also covers the first end surface 45A, the second end surface 45B, and the side surface 45C of the first member 40. That is, both sides of the protrusion 43 in the axial direction are filled with the second member 50.
[0038] The second member 50 has an inner peripheral surface 51, an outer peripheral surface 52, a first end surface 53A, and a second end surface 53B. The second member 50 includes a first portion 54A having an annular shape whose central axis coincides with the first raceway surface 11 and entering between the flange portion 12, which is the first convex portion, and the first member 40. The first portion 54A is disposed on one side of the cylindrical portion 42 in the axial direction. The first portion 54A is formed over the entire circumference of the inner peripheral surface 51. The second member 50 also includes a second portion 54B having an annular shape whose central axis coincides with the first raceway surface 11 and entering between the side plate 20, which is the second convex portion, and the first member 40. The second portion 54B is disposed on the other side of the cylindrical portion 42 in the axial direction. The second portion 54B is formed over the entire circumference of the inner peripheral surface 51. Furthermore, although not shown, the second member 50 also enters the above-mentioned cutout 47. The cutout 47 and the second member 50 that has entered the cutout 47 function as a rotation suppressing mechanism that suppresses relative rotation of the second member 50 with respect to the first member 40 in the circumferential direction.
[0039] The outer peripheral surface 52 of the second member 50 is configured to be convex so that the center in the axial direction protrudes the most. The outer peripheral surface 52 of the second member is configured so that the diameter gradually decreases from the center in the axial direction toward both ends in the axial direction. In other words, the outer periphery D1 of the outer ring 60 is configured to be largest at the center in the axial direction.
[0040] The cage 80 has an annular shape. In this embodiment, the cage 80 is a welded cage. By using a welded cage as the cage 80, productivity can be improved. The cage 80 is made of steel, but a resin cage can also be used. The cage 80 is arranged concentrically with the shaft member 30 and the outer ring 60 in a space between the shaft member 30 and the outer ring 60. The cage 80 has a plurality of pockets 81 arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction. Each of the plurality of pockets 81 has a roller 70 arranged therein. By being held by the cage 80 in this manner, the plurality of rollers 70 are arranged on a circular orbit along the first raceway surface 11 and the second raceway surface 41 so as to contact the first raceway surface 11 and the second raceway surface 41. The rollers 70 have a solid cylindrical shape. The rollers 70 have a cylindrical outer peripheral surface 71 and a pair of spherical end faces 72. The end faces 72 of the rollers 70 may be flat. The rollers 70 have outer circumferential surfaces 71 which are in contact with the first raceway surface 11 and the second raceway surface 41. The rollers 70 are made of steel such as bearing steel. The rollers 70 may be quench-hardened.
[0041] The first portion 54A has a first opposing surface 54C facing the outer peripheral surface 82A of the cage 80 in the radial direction. The first opposing surface 54C is disposed on the outer peripheral side of the second raceway surface 41 in the radial direction. The second portion 54B has a second opposing surface 54D facing the outer peripheral surface 82B of the cage 80 in the radial direction. The second opposing surface 54D is disposed on the outer peripheral side of the second raceway surface 41 in the radial direction. That is, the first opposing surface 54C and the second opposing surface 54D are disposed on the outer peripheral side of the second raceway surface 41 in the radial direction. By configuring in this way, a radial gap 91A can be formed between the outer peripheral surface 82A of the cage 80 and the first opposing surface 54C. Also, a radial gap 91B can be formed between the outer peripheral surface 82B of the cage 80 and the second opposing surface 54D. In addition, in a cross section cut by a plane including the rotating shaft 31 of the follower bearing 1A, the outer peripheral surfaces 82A, 82B of the retainer 80 each extend straight along the axial direction. The first opposing surface 54C and the second opposing surface 54D extend straight along the axial direction. That is, the line representing the outer peripheral surface 82A of the retainer 80 and the line representing the first opposing surface 54C are parallel. In addition, the line representing the outer peripheral surface 82B of the retainer 80 and the line representing the second opposing surface 54D are parallel.
[0042] In the follower bearing 1A of the above embodiment, the shaft member 30, the outer ring 60, the cage 80 and the rollers 70 are arranged as described above, so that the outer ring 60 is rotatable relative to the shaft member 30 in the circumferential direction.
[0043] In the follower bearing 1A of the above embodiment, the outer ring 60 includes a second member 50 made of resin. This achieves suppression of aggressiveness to other members in contact with the outer ring 60 and suppression of operating noise. The follower bearing 1A of the present disclosure also includes a cage 80 that holds rollers 70 as multiple rolling elements. This ensures stable retention of the posture of the rollers 70 during operation of the bearing. The cage 80 rotates together with the rollers 70 during operation of the bearing.
[0044] Here, in the follower bearing 1A, a load may be applied from the outer periphery side of the outer ring 60. When a load is applied to the outer ring 60, it is considered that the second member 50 made of resin may deform toward the inner periphery side. If this happens, the cage 80 that holds the rollers 70 may come into contact with the second member 50, which may hinder the rotation of the cage.
[0045] This will be explained below. Figures 6 and 7 are schematic cross-sectional views showing a part of the follower bearing 1A when a load is applied from the outer periphery side of the outer ring. Figure 7 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing an enlarged view of region VII in Figure 2.
[0046] 6 and 7, a load 92 indicated by an arrow may be applied from the outer peripheral side of the outer ring 60, in this case, the outer peripheral side of the second member 50. In this case, the second member 50 is deformed because it is made of urethane rubber. Specifically, the outer peripheral surface 52 of the second member 50 has a shape that protrudes most at the center in the axial direction, so the outer peripheral surface 52 is crushed flat. The inner peripheral side of the second member 50 is also deformed by the applied load 92. In this case, the cylindrical portion 42 is made of steel, so that the amount of deformation toward the inner peripheral side is small on the side of the first opposing surface 54C close to the cylindrical portion 42, and the amount of deformation toward the inner peripheral side increases toward the outside in the axial direction, that is, as it moves away from the cylindrical portion 42 in the axial direction. That is, as it moves away from the cylindrical portion 42 in the axial direction, the inner circumference of the first opposing surface 54C becomes smaller. The same tendency is observed for the second opposing surface 54D.
[0047] Here, in the follower bearing 1A of the present disclosure, the first opposing surface 54C and the second opposing surface 54D are disposed radially on the outer periphery side of the second raceway surface 41. A radial gap 91A is formed between the outer periphery surface 82A of the retainer 80 and the first opposing surface 54C. A radial gap 91B is formed between the outer periphery surface 82B of the retainer 80 and the second opposing surface 54D. Therefore, even if a load 92 is applied to the outer ring 60 of the follower bearing 1A from the outer periphery side and the second member 50 made of resin is deformed toward the inner periphery side, the risk of contact between the first opposing surface 54C of the first portion 54A and the outer periphery surface 82A of the retainer 80 and the second opposing surface 54D of the second portion 54B and the outer periphery surface 82B of the retainer 80 can be reduced. As a result, the risk of contact between the second member 50 of the outer ring 60 and the retainer 80, which hinders stable rotation of the retainer 80, can be reduced. In this way, according to the follower bearing 1A, it is possible to suppress operating noise and attack on other members, while ensuring stable operation of the bearing.
[0048] In the follower bearing 1A of the above embodiment, in a cross section cut along a plane including the rotating shaft 31 of the follower bearing 1A, the outer peripheral surfaces 82A, 82B of the retainer 80 extend straight along the axial direction. In addition, the first opposing surface 54C and the second opposing surface 54D extend straight along the axial direction. Therefore, in the axial direction, a large contact area can be secured between the flange 12 and the first portion 54A and between the side plate 20 and the second portion 54B. Therefore, the operation can be stabilized by suppressing the outer ring 60 from riding up onto the flange 12 and the side plate 20 during the operation of the bearing, and the load can be dispersed when a thrust load occurs due to misalignment or the like. As a result, the follower bearing 1A having such a configuration is a follower bearing that can ensure a more stable operation of the bearing. In addition, whether to adopt the configuration of the above-mentioned embodiment 1 or the configuration of embodiment 2 will be determined depending on, for example, the radial dimensions of the flange portion 12 and the side plate 20 and the environment in which the follower bearing is used.
[0049] In the follower bearing 1A of the above embodiment, the first member 40 has a hollow cylindrical shape, and includes a tubular portion 42 including a second raceway surface 41, and a protrusion 43 extending radially outward from the tubular portion 42. Both sides of the protrusion 43 in the axial direction are filled with the second member 50. This reduces the risk of the first member 40 and the second member 50 being separated in the axial direction. This makes the follower bearing 1A a follower bearing that can improve reliability.
[0050] In the follower bearing 1A of the above embodiment, the protrusion 43 is connected to the axial end 46 of the cylindrical portion 42. Therefore, the first member 40 having the protrusion 43 configured in this way can be easily manufactured by using press processing, drawing processing, or the like. The shape of the protrusion 43 is not limited to that of the above embodiment, and can be appropriately selected, for example, a shape in which the protrusion 43 is folded back toward the outer circumferential surface 44A of the cylindrical portion 42 after being folded radially outward. The protrusion 43 may be formed on both axial ends of the cylindrical portion 42.
[0051] In the follower bearing 1A of the above embodiment, the protrusion 43 has a continuous annular shape over the entire circumferential area of the first member 40. The follower bearing 1A including the first member 40 having such a configuration is a follower bearing that can further reduce the risk of the first member 40 and the second member 50 being separated in the axial direction.
[0052] In the follower bearing 1A of the above embodiment, a notch 47 recessed radially inward is formed in the protrusion 43. Therefore, the second member 50 can enter the inside of the notch 47. Therefore, such a follower bearing 1A is a follower bearing that can regulate the relative rotation of the first member 40 with respect to the second member 50.
[0053] In the follower bearing 1A of the above embodiment, a plurality of notches 47 are formed at intervals in the circumferential direction. Therefore, such a follower bearing 1A is a follower bearing that can further restrict the relative rotation of the first member 40 with respect to the second member 50.
[0054] In the follower bearing 1A of the above embodiment, the shaft member 30 includes a main body 10 including a first raceway surface 11, and a flange 12 as a first protruding part that has an annular shape whose central axis coincides with the first raceway surface 11, is disposed on one side of the first raceway surface 11 in the axial direction, and protrudes radially outward from the outer periphery of the main body 10. The second member 50 includes a first portion 54A that has an annular shape whose central axis coincides with the first raceway surface 11 and enters between the flange 12 and the first member 40. Thus, such a follower bearing 1A is a follower bearing that can prevent the flange 12 and the first member 40 from contacting each other in the axial direction.
[0055] In the follower bearing 1A of the above embodiment, the shaft member 30 includes a side plate 20 as a second protrusion that has an annular shape whose central axis coincides with the first raceway surface 11, is disposed on the other axial side of the first raceway surface 11, and protrudes radially outward from the outer periphery of the main body 10. The second member 50 includes a second portion 54B that has an annular shape whose central axis coincides with the first raceway surface 11, and enters between the side plate 20 and the first member 40. Thus, such a follower bearing 1A is a follower bearing that can prevent the side plate 20 and the first member 40 from contacting each other in the axial direction.
[0056] Here, the radial length of the gaps 91A and 91B may be adjusted according to the displacement amount and the expected load. FIG. 8 is a graph showing the relationship between the load and the deformation amount when the outer periphery dimension of the follower bearing 1A is changed. In FIG. 8, the vertical axis indicates the deformation amount (mm), and the horizontal axis indicates the load (N). The graph shows the cases where the outer periphery D1 dimension is 16 mm, 19 mm, 22 mm, and 30 mm, respectively. With reference to FIG. 8, for example, when the outer periphery D1 dimension is 16 mm and a load of 100 N is expected, the deformation amount shows a value slightly smaller than 0.3 mm. Also, when the outer periphery D1 dimension is 30 mm and a load of 100 N is expected, the deformation amount shows a value slightly larger than 0.1 mm. Taking these values into consideration, the radial dimensions of the gaps 91A and 91B, that is, the radial positions of the first opposing surface 54C and the second opposing surface 54D may be specified.
[0057] (Embodiment 2) Next, a second embodiment, which is another embodiment, will be described. Fig. 9 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing a part of a follower bearing according to the second embodiment. Fig. 10 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing an enlarged part of the follower bearing shown in Fig. 9. The follower bearing of the second embodiment differs from that of the first embodiment in that the shapes of the first opposing surface and the second opposing surface are different.
[0058] 9 and 10, in a cross section cut along a plane including the rotation axis of the follower bearing 1B according to the second embodiment, the first opposing surface 54C is inclined with respect to the axial direction so that the distance between the first opposing surface 54C and the outer peripheral surface 82A of the retainer 80 increases from the side closer to the cylindrical portion 42 toward the side farther from the cylindrical portion 42. In the follower bearing 1B, the first portion 54A includes a tongue-shaped portion 54E that extends to a region between the retainer 80 and the cylindrical portion 42. The tongue-shaped portion 54E is formed so as to extend radially inward. The tongue-shaped portion 54E is formed in a continuous ring shape.
[0059] Here, when a load is applied from the outer peripheral side of the outer ring 60, the second member 50, specifically the first portion 54A of the second member 50, is deformed to a greater extent in the region on the outer side of the bearing close to the flange 12 than in the region on the inner side of the bearing far from the flange 12. In this embodiment, the first opposing surface 54C is inclined with respect to the axial direction so as to become larger from the side close to the cylindrical portion 42 toward the side far from the cylindrical portion 42 as described above, so that when a load is applied from the outer peripheral side of the outer ring 60, the arrangement relationship between the deformed first opposing surface 54C and the rotating shaft 31, and further the outer peripheral surface 82A of the retainer 80, can be made to be nearly parallel. Therefore, the risk of contact between the second member 50 and the retainer 80 can be reduced, and stable operation of the bearing can be further ensured.
[0060] Furthermore, according to this embodiment, the tongue portion 54E can significantly reduce the risk of contact between the retainer 80 and the cylindrical portion 42. This can suppress wear of the retainer 80 due to contact with the cylindrical portion 42. This can ensure more stable operation of the bearing.
[0061] In the above embodiment, the first opposing surface 54C is configured so that the distance between it and the outer peripheral surface 82A of the retainer 80 increases from the side closer to the cylindrical portion 42 to the side farther from the cylindrical portion 42, but this is not limited to the above, and at least one of the first opposing surface 54C and the second opposing surface 54D may be inclined with respect to the axial direction so that the distance between them and the outer peripheral surfaces 82A, 82B of the retainer 80 increases from the side closer to the cylindrical portion 42 to the side farther from the cylindrical portion 42.
[0062] In the above embodiment, the first portion 54A includes the tongue portion 54E extending to the region between the retainer 80 and the cylindrical portion 42, but this is not limiting, and at least one of the first portion 54A and the second portion 54B may include a tongue portion extending to the region between the retainer 80 and the cylindrical portion 42. A plurality of tongue portions may be provided at intervals in the circumferential direction, or only one tongue portion may be provided in the circumferential direction.
[0063] (Embodiment 3) Next, a third embodiment, which is yet another embodiment, will be described. Fig. 11 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing a part of a follower bearing according to the third embodiment. The follower bearing of the third embodiment differs from the first embodiment in that the cylindrical portion has an opposing region that faces the outer circumferential surface of the cage in the radial direction.
[0064] 11, in a cross section cut along a plane including the rotation axis of the follower bearing 1C according to the third embodiment, the axial length of the cylindrical portion 42 is longer than the axial length of the cylindrical portion 42 of the first embodiment. The cylindrical portion 42 has an opposing region 48 that faces an outer circumferential surface 82A of the cage 80 in the radial direction. The opposing region 48 is formed to be continuous with the second raceway surface 41.
[0065] According to this embodiment, even if the outer ring 60 is deformed toward the inner circumference due to a load applied from the outer circumference, the outer ring 60 comes into contact with the retainer 80 in the facing region 48 of the cylindrical portion 42. This reduces the risk of the retainer 80 coming into contact with the second member 50. This makes it easier to ensure smooth rotation of the retainer 80.
[0066] (Embodiment 4) Next, a fourth embodiment, which is yet another embodiment, will be described. Fig. 12 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing a part of a follower bearing according to the fourth embodiment. The follower bearing of the fourth embodiment differs from the first embodiment in that the cage is a stamped cage made of steel.
[0067] 12, the retainer 80 included in the follower bearing 1D according to the fourth embodiment is a stamped steel retainer. With this configuration, stable operation of the bearing can be ensured.
[0068] (Embodiment 5) Next, a fifth embodiment, which is yet another embodiment, will be described. Fig. 13 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing a part of a follower bearing according to the fifth embodiment. Fig. 14 is a schematic perspective view of the follower bearing according to the fifth embodiment, in which the second member is omitted. The follower bearing of the fifth embodiment differs from the first embodiment in that a recess is provided in the first member as a rotation suppression mechanism that suppresses relative rotation in the circumferential direction of the second member with respect to the first member.
[0069] 13 and 14, a follower bearing 1E according to the fourth embodiment includes recesses 49A, 49B as a rotation suppressing mechanism that suppresses relative rotation in the circumferential direction of the second member 50 with respect to the first member 40, and a second member 59 that enters into the recesses 49B, 49B. The recesses 49A, 49B are recessed in the shape of a circular hole from the outer circumferential surface 44A of the cylindrical portion 42. A plurality of the recesses 49A, 49B are provided at intervals in the circumferential direction.
[0070] According to this embodiment, the recesses 49A, 49B and the second member 59 entering the recesses 49A, 49B can suppress the relative rotation of the second member 50 with respect to the first member 40. In addition, the axial movement of the second member 50 with respect to the first member 40 can also be restricted. This configuration can be easily formed because it can be formed by pouring resin into the recesses 49A, 49B when providing the second member 50 on the outer periphery side of the first member 40 after providing the recesses 49A, 49B with the above configuration in the cylindrical portion 42.
[0071] (Other embodiments) In the above-mentioned follower bearing, the resin constituting the second member 50 may contain reinforcing fibers. As the reinforcing fibers, for example, glass fibers, carbon fibers, etc. can be adopted.
[0072] In the above embodiment, the rollers 70 are used as the rolling elements of the follower bearing, but balls may be used as the rolling elements. In the above embodiment, the rolling elements are arranged in a single row, but they may be arranged in double rows. In the above embodiment, the solid shaft member 30 is used as the inner member, but a raceway ring (inner ring), for example, may be used as the inner member. Furthermore, the second member 50 can be appropriately selected from those formed in a hollow cylindrical shape, those formed with a spherical outer circumferential surface, and the like.
[0073] In the present disclosure, a follower bearing refers to a bearing in which an outer ring rotates relative to a shaft member in the circumferential direction while in contact with another member, with the shaft member being fixed. The other member is not particularly limited, and may be, for example, a cam, a rail, or a belt.
[0074] It should be understood that the embodiments disclosed herein are illustrative in all respects and are not restrictive in any respect. The scope of the present invention is defined by the claims, and is intended to include all modifications within the meaning and scope of the claims. [Industrial Applicability]
