Summary of the Invention
Problems to be Solved by the Invention
[0004] By the way, when an insertion piece is provided at the edge of the main body part of the exterior part for a vehicle, the insertion opening provided in another part into which such an insertion piece is inserted is arranged near the edge of the exterior part for a vehicle after attachment. In some cases, the edge of such an insertion opening is exposed at a position where it can be visually recognized from the outside without being covered by the exterior part for a vehicle after attachment. If the edge of the insertion opening of another part is largely exposed, there is a risk of impairing the appearance impression of the vehicle.
[0005] The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and an object thereof is to make it possible to form the shape of the insertion opening of another part into which an insertion piece is inserted into a shape that can prevent it from being visually recognized from the outside.
Means for Solving the Problems
[0006] In order to solve the above problems, the present invention adopts the following configuration.
[0007] A first aspect of the present invention is an exterior component for a vehicle, which has a main body portion with a design surface at least a part of the front surface of which is visible from the outside, and an insertion piece that protrudes rearward from an edge portion of the main body portion and is inserted into an insertion opening of another component. The insertion piece has a plate-shaped base portion connected to the edge portion of the main body portion, and a rib provided so as to protrude from a part of the base portion toward the outside of the main body portion when viewed from a direction along the protruding direction of the insertion piece from the main body portion.
[0008] A second aspect of the present invention adopts the configuration in which, in the first aspect, when viewed from a direction along the protruding direction of the insertion piece from the main body portion, a plurality of the ribs are provided spaced apart from each other.
[0009] A third aspect of the present invention adopts the configuration in which, in the second aspect, when viewed from a direction along the protruding direction of the insertion piece from the main body portion, the ribs are provided at both ends of the base portion.
[0010] A fourth aspect of the present invention adopts the configuration in which, in any one of the first to third aspects, the thickness dimension of the insertion piece including the base portion and the rib is equal to or less than the thickness dimension of the edge portion of the main body portion at the formation position of the insertion piece.
[0011] A fifth aspect of the present invention adopts the configuration in which, in any one of the first to fourth aspects, the insertion piece is provided at the lower edge portion of the main body portion.
Advantages of the Invention
[0012] In the present invention, an insertion piece provided at an edge of a main body portion of an exterior part for a vehicle has a plate-shaped base portion and ribs. The ribs are provided so as to protrude from a part of the base portion toward the outside of the main body portion when viewed from a direction along the protruding direction of the insertion piece from the main body portion. In such an insertion piece, the rigidity of the insertion piece is improved by the ribs, and it is possible to secure the strength required as the insertion piece. Further, such ribs are provided only on a part of the base portion. For this reason, the insertion opening of another member can be made larger in the thickness direction of the insertion piece only at the portion where the rib is located and smaller in the thickness direction of the insertion piece at other portions. That is, according to the present invention, the shape of the insertion opening of another part can be made such that only a part thereof is larger than other portions in the thickness direction of the insertion piece. When the insertion opening has such a shape, when the exterior part for a vehicle is attached to another part, the portion where the thickness direction of the insertion piece is relatively small in the insertion opening is hidden by the exterior part for a vehicle. Therefore, according to the present invention, it is possible to make the shape of the insertion opening of another part such that it is suppressed from being visually recognized from the outside.

The fog lamp installation portion 1c is a portion arranged on the left and right of the opening 1a with the opening 1a interposed therebetween, and an exposure opening 1e for exposing the fog lamp is provided. The front surface of this fog lamp installation portion 1c is formed with a texture (minute unevenness) and forms a part of the design surface of the front bumper finisher outer 1.
[0019] These outer frame portion 1b and fog lamp installation portion 1c form a main body portion 1f having a design surface visible from the outside. That is, the front bumper finisher outer 1 of the present embodiment includes a main body portion 1f at least a part of the front surface of which is a design surface visible from the outside.
[0020] Figure 3 is a rear perspective view of the front bumper finisher outer 1. As shown in this figure, the fastening piece 1d is connected to the lower edge portion 1b1 of the outer frame portion 1b (that is, the lower edge portion of the front bumper finisher outer 1). In the present embodiment, as shown in Figure 3, the fastening pieces 1d are provided at two locations, near one end and near the other end in the vehicle width direction of the front bumper finisher outer 1. That is, two fastening pieces 1d are provided in the present embodiment.
[0021] FIG. 4 is an enlarged exploded perspective view of the main part of the front bumper finisher outer 1 including the fastening piece 1d and the front bumper finisher inner 2. As shown in this figure, the fastening piece 1d is provided on the end face of the lower edge portion 1b1 of the outer frame portion 1b, and extends rearward of the front bumper finisher outer 1 along the normal direction of the end face of the lower edge portion 1b1. This fastening piece 1d has a base portion 1d1 and a rib 1d2.
[0022] The base portion 1d1 is a plate-like portion connected to the lower edge portion 1b1, and a bolt insertion hole 1d3 through which a bolt (not shown) is inserted is provided at the center. In the present embodiment, the base portion 1d1 is arranged such that the front and back surfaces face in the vertical direction. The rib 1d2 is a protrusion provided so as to protrude from a part of the base portion 1d1 toward the outside (downward in the present embodiment) of the main body portion 1f when viewed from the direction along the protruding direction from the main body portion 1f of the fastening piece 1d. In the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 4, the rib 1d2 is provided so as to protrude downward from the lower surface of the base portion 1d1, and extends linearly in the front-rear direction (the protruding direction from the main body portion 1f of the fastening piece 1d) along the surface of the base portion 1d1.
[0023] Also, as shown in FIG. 4, in the present embodiment, ribs 1d2 are provided at both ends of the base portion 1d1 when viewed from the direction along the protruding direction from the main body portion 1f of the fastening piece 1d. That is, when viewed from the direction along the protruding direction from the main body portion 1f of the fastening piece 1d, a plurality of ribs 1d2 are provided at intervals.
[0024] FIG. 5 is a schematic side view of the fastening piece 1d. As shown in this figure, the lower end 1d4 of the rib 1d2 is located above the lower end 1b2 of the lower edge portion 1b1 of the outer frame portion 1b (that is, the main body portion 1f). Also, the upper end 1d5 of the base portion 1d1 is located below the upper end 1b3 of the lower edge portion 1b1 of the outer frame portion 1b (that is, the main body portion 1f). That is, in the present embodiment, the thickness dimension da of the fastening piece 1d including the base portion 1d1 and the rib 1d2 is equal to or less than the thickness dimension db of the lower edge portion 1b1 at the formation position of the fastening piece 1d.
[0025] Further, as shown in FIG. 4, the front bumper finisher inner 2 is provided with an insertion opening 2a into which the fastening piece 1d can be inserted from the front toward the rear. This insertion opening 2a is formed in an inverted U shape provided with portions through which the ribs 1d2 of the fastening piece 1d are inserted at both ends, in accordance with the shape of the fastening piece 1d. That is, the insertion opening 2a is largely opened in the vertical direction only at the portion through which the rib 1d2 of the fastening piece 1d passes, and the portion through which the portion without the rib 1d2 of the fastening piece 1d passes is opened small in accordance with the thickness dimension of the base portion 1d1.
[0026] Further, as shown in FIG. 4, the front bumper finisher inner 2 is provided with a base portion 2b to which the fastening piece 1d is fastened behind the insertion opening 2a. This base portion 2b has a nut mounting wall 2b1 and a side wall portion 2b2 that supports the nut mounting wall 2b1 and abuts against the fastening piece 1d from below.
[0027] The nut mounting wall 2b1 is a plate-like portion disposed to face the base portion 1d1 of the fastening piece 1d with gaps provided above and below. A bolt insertion hole 2b3 is provided in the nut mounting wall 2b1 at a position overlapping with the bolt insertion hole 1d3 provided in the base portion 1d1 of the fastening piece 1d when viewed from above. A J-nut (not shown) is attached to this nut mounting wall 2b1. By screwing a bolt into this J-nut, the fastening piece 1d is fastened to the base portion 2b (the front bumper finisher outer 1 to the front bumper finisher inner 2).
[0028] The side wall portions 2b2 are provided at each of both ends of the nut mounting wall 2b1 and are arranged such that the upper ends are positioned above the nut mounting wall 2b1. By abutting the base portion 1d1 of the fastening piece 1d against the tips (upper ends) of these side wall portions 2b2, the base portion 1d1 of the fastening piece 1d is disposed to face the nut mounting wall 2b1 with a gap therebetween.
[0029] When attaching the front bumper finisher outer 1 of the present embodiment configured as described above to the front bumper finisher inner 2, the fastening piece 1d is inserted into the insertion opening 2a of the front bumper finisher inner 2. As a result, the base portion 1d1 of the fastening piece 1d is disposed opposite to the nut mounting wall 2b1 of the base portion 2b. Then, a J-nut is attached to the nut mounting wall 2b1, and the front bumper finisher outer 1 is fixed to the front bumper finisher inner 2 by screwing a bolt into the J-nut.
[0030] The front bumper finisher outer 1 of the present embodiment as described above has a main body portion 1f whose at least a part of the front surface is a design surface visible from the outside, and a fastening piece 1d that protrudes rearward from the edge of the main body portion 1f and is inserted into the insertion opening 2a of the front bumper finisher inner 2. Further, the fastening piece 1d has a plate-shaped base portion 1d1 connected to the edge of the main body portion 1f, and a rib 1d2 provided to protrude from a part of the base portion 1d1 toward the outside of the main body portion 1f when viewed from a direction along the protruding direction of the fastening piece 1d from the main body portion 1f.
[0031] In the front bumper finisher outer 1 of the present embodiment configured as described above, the fastening piece 1d provided at the edge of the main body portion 1f has a plate-shaped base portion 1d1 and a rib 1d2. The rib 1d2 is provided to protrude from a part of the base portion 1d1 toward the outside of the main body portion 1f when viewed from a direction along the protruding direction of the fastening piece 1d from the main body portion 1f. In such a fastening piece 1d, the rigidity of the fastening piece 1d is improved by the rib 1d2, and it is possible to ensure the strength required as the fastening piece 1d. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the front bumper finisher outer 1 of the present embodiment from changing its shape so as to sag due to its own weight.
[0032] Furthermore, such ribs 1d2 are provided only on a part of the base 1d1. Therefore, the insertion opening 2a of the front bumper finisher inner 2 can be enlarged in the thickness direction of the fastening piece 1d only at the portion where the rib 1d2 is located, and reduced in the thickness direction of the fastening piece 1d at other portions. That is, according to the front bumper finisher outer 1 of the present embodiment, the shape of the insertion opening 2a of the front bumper finisher inner 2 can be made such that only a part thereof is larger than other portions in the thickness direction of the fastening piece 1d.
[0033] FIG. 6 is a schematic view of the insertion opening 2a when the front bumper finisher outer 1 of the present embodiment is attached to the front bumper finisher inner 2 as viewed from the outside. As shown in this figure, when the shape of the insertion opening 2a of the front bumper finisher inner 2 is such that only a part thereof is larger than other portions in the thickness direction of the fastening piece 1d, when the front bumper finisher outer 1 of the present embodiment is attached to the front bumper finisher inner 2, the portion where the relative thickness direction of the insertion opening 2a with respect to the fastening piece 1d is small is hidden by the vehicle exterior parts. Therefore, according to the front bumper finisher outer 1 of the present embodiment, the shape of the insertion opening 2a of the front bumper finisher inner 2 can be made a shape that can prevent it from being visually recognized from the outside.
[0034] Also, in the front bumper finisher outer 1 of the present embodiment, a plurality of ribs 1d2 are provided spaced apart from each other when viewed in the direction along the protruding direction of the fastening piece 1d from the main body portion 1f of the fastening piece 1d. Therefore, it is possible to further improve the rigidity of the fastening piece 1d as compared with the case where only one rib 1d2 is provided on the fastening piece 1d.
[0035] Further, in the front bumper finisher outer 1 of the present embodiment, ribs 1d2 are provided at both ends of the base portion 1d1 when viewed in the direction along the protruding direction from the main body portion 1f of the fastening piece 1d. Therefore, when inserting the fastening piece 1d into the insertion opening 2a, the strength of the end portion of the fastening piece 1d that is most likely to contact the front bumper finisher inner 2 can be increased by the ribs 1d2. Thus, when inserting the fastening piece 1d into the insertion opening 2a, it is possible to prevent the fastening piece 1d from contacting the front bumper finisher inner 2 and chipping or the like.
[0036] Also, in the front bumper finisher outer 1 of the present embodiment, the thickness dimension da of the fastening piece 1d including the base portion 1d1 and the ribs 1d2 is equal to or less than the thickness dimension db of the edge portion of the main body portion 1f at the formation position of the fastening piece 1d. Therefore, it becomes possible to make the insertion opening 2a smaller, and it becomes possible to further reduce the portion exposed outside the insertion opening 2a.
[0037] Also, in the front bumper finisher outer 1 of the present embodiment, the fastening piece 1d is provided at the lower edge portion 1b1 of the main body portion 1f. Therefore, the portion exposed outside the insertion opening 2a is located below the front bumper finisher outer 1 of the present embodiment. Thus, the portion exposed outside the insertion opening 2a can be arranged at a position that is difficult for an external person to see.
[0038] As described above, the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described with reference to the accompanying drawings. Needless to say, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiments. The various shapes, combinations, etc. of the respective constituent members shown in the above-described embodiments are merely examples, and various modifications can be made based on design requirements and the like without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
[0039] For example, in the above embodiment, the configuration in which the rib 1d2 is provided at the end of the base portion 1d1 in the fastening piece 1d has been described. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, as shown in FIG. 7, it is also possible to arrange the rib 1d2 at a position displaced from the end of the base portion 1d1 toward the center side of the base portion 1d1.
[0040] Further, in the above embodiment, the configuration in which the fastening piece 1d is installed at the lower edge portion 1b1 of the main body portion 1f of the front bumper finisher outer 1 has been described. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, it is also possible to adopt a configuration in which the fastening piece 1d is provided at the side edge portion or the upper edge portion of the main body portion 1f.
[0041] Further, in the above embodiment, the configuration in which the insertion piece of the present invention is the fastening piece 1d fastened to the front bumper finisher inner 2 has been described. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, it is also possible to adopt a configuration in which the insertion piece of the present invention is a locking piece locked to the front bumper finisher inner 2.
[0042] Further, in the above embodiment, an example in which the exterior part for a vehicle of the present invention is applied to the front bumper finisher outer 1 has been described. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the exterior part for a vehicle of the present invention can also be applied to a rear bumper or the like.
