As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the writing pad 1 of this embodiment is a rectangular writing pad of approximately A4 size in plan view, and is used for writing. At least one surface of a substrate 4, which forms the main body of the writing pad 1, is provided with a pressure-sensitive coloring layer 3 that can color areas subjected to writing pressure to make handwriting visible, and a surface layer 2 that covers the surface of the pressure-sensitive coloring layer 3. The pressure-sensitive coloring layer 3 can color handwriting 5 corresponding to pressure applied from a writing implement or the like using various mechanisms, which will be described later. As shown in FIG. 4 , this embodiment includes a coloring layer 32 containing fine capsules filled with colorless ink on the back surface of the surface layer 2, and a color developer layer 33 coated with a color developer capable of producing a color reaction when in contact with the colorless ink on the surface of base paper 34. When writing pressure is applied from the front side of the surface layer 2, the capsules in the coloring layer 32 break at the pressure, causing the colorless ink inside to seep out and chemically react with the color developer in the color developer layer 33 to develop a color. This results in handwriting 5 being drawn on the surface of the base paper 34. It is preferable that the surface layer 2 covering the base paper 34 be made of a transparent film or resin sheet, as this makes the handwriting 5 appear more clearly. The surface layer 2 is not limited to a transparent material; it may also be made of a transparent paper or resin that allows the handwriting 5 to be visible. Also, as shown in FIG. 5 , the coloring layer 32 and the color developer layer 33 may be provided in the reverse order to that shown in FIG. 4 . As shown in FIG. 6, a mixed layer 35 in which the capsules and the developer are mixed in one layer may be provided on the surface of the base paper 34.
[0021] (Third embodiment) In the third embodiment, as shown in FIG. 7, a coloring layer 32 is formed on the back surface 22 of the surface layer 2, and a color developing layer 33 is formed on the surface of the substrate 4. When writing pressure is applied to the writing pad 1 of this embodiment, handwriting 5 is written on the surface of the substrate 4 by a mechanism similar to that of the second embodiment. In this embodiment, it is preferable that the substrate 4 is made of paper such as cardboard, as this ensures stable coloring of the handwriting 5. The surface layer 2 is preferably made of a transparent film or resin sheet so that the handwriting 5 on the surface of the substrate 4 can be more clearly seen. Claims
1. The underlay has a laminated structure including a flat substrate, a pressure-sensitive coloring layer that can color areas that receive writing pressure to make handwriting visible, and a surface layer that covers the surface of the pressure-sensitive coloring layer, and the handwriting is transferred to any of the members that make up the laminated structure and accumulates without disappearing.
