AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Thermal cameras installed outdoors are prone to lens contamination from water droplets or dust, leading to inaccurate detection due to distorted images, as transparent covers interfere with infrared ray detection.

Method used

An air wiper system comprising an internal pressure generating casing, high-pressure air nozzles, and a control unit to manage air flow, preventing foreign matter from adhering to the optical components by maintaining internal pressure and directing air flows to prevent contamination.

Benefits of technology

Effectively prevents foreign matter from adhering to thermal camera lenses, ensuring accurate infrared detection even in adverse weather conditions.

Abstract

To provide an air wiper system for thermal camera which can prevent a foreign matter such as water droplets from adhering to an optical component of a thermal camera.SOLUTION: There is provided an air wiper system 1 for thermal camera which prevents a foreign matter from adhering to an optical component 13 installed on a tip of a thermal camera 10 for detecting the infrared ray. The air wiper system includes: an air supply device 100; a casing 15 for internal pressure formation which surrounds a space around the optical component 13 and has an opening 23 in a direction in which the infrared ray is incident; a nozzle 17 for internal pressure formation which supplies high-pressure air supplied from the air supply device 100 into the casing 15 for internal pressure formation and makes the internal pressure in the casing 15 for internal pressure formation higher than the outside air; a foreign matter intrusion prevention nozzle 21 which jets the high-pressure air supplied from the air supply device 100 toward a front side of the opening 23 of the casing 15 for internal pressure formation; and an optical component surface jetting nozzle 19 which jets the high-pressure air supplied from the air supply device 100 toward a surface of the optical component 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
