Abstract
Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] The present invention relates to cosmetic compositions for improving the appearance of skin.
[0002] The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition, in particular to a cosmetic composition for application to the face and neck, more particularly, the composition is a face mask, in particular a clay-based rinse-off mask. [Background technology]
[0003] Traditionally, cosmetic compositions described as masks are intended to provide skin care, generally deep cleansing of the epidermis, and are therefore formulated to be applied to the skin in the form of a thick layer. After the application time required to achieve this, generally 10 to 45 minutes, this layer is then removed by rinsing with water or, alternatively, by using a damp cloth or tissue.
[0004] Our skin is susceptible to deterioration due to environmental factors, such as skin damage and strong sunlight, as well as the normal aging process (chronoaging), which can be accelerated by exposure to sunlight (photoaging). In recent years, the demand for cosmetic compositions and methods for improving the appearance of skin has grown significantly. Consumers are increasingly seeking cosmetic compositions for treating, delaying, or concealing the visible signs of chronoaging and photoaging skin, such as wrinkles, fine lines, sagging skin, hyperpigmentation, and age spots.
[0005] WO2020109481A1 (Unilever) discloses a clay mask composition containing bentonite, oil, water, kaolin, and a thickener. The composition does not contain surfactants and does not leave a dry feeling after use.
[0006] WO19016493A1 (Cosmetic Warriors Ltd.) discloses a cosmetic preparation comprising a moisturizing agent; 25 to 80% water; 15 to 50% inorganic materials such as mica, zeolite, calamine and mixtures thereof; and a gelling agent. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0076] The compositions of the present invention are preferably prepared by mixing the ingredients under moderate shear (typically with a propeller blade) under atmospheric conditions and at ambient temperature. Heating is optional if solid ingredients are present. Mixing is preferably stopped after obtaining a uniform composition, which is homogenized using a Silverson Homogenizer until a clay mask composition having a viscosity of 90,000 to 500,000 cps is recovered. If heating is desired, the temperature of the composition is raised from ambient to 35 to 50°C (including all ranges subsumed therein).
[0077] Packaging for the compositions of the present invention can be in a jar or tube, or any other design typically found in cosmetic, cream, cleanser, and lotion-type products. The compositions can be applied topically, preferably at 1 to 4 milligrams of composition per square centimeter of skin.
[0078] Uses and Methods According to a second aspect, use of a cosmetic composition for long-lasting skin brightening is disclosed. Preferably, a thin film of the composition is applied as a face mask, left on the face for 10 to 45 minutes, and then rinsed off with water. Preferably, the skin brightening effect is still perceptible 4 to 20 hours after application. More preferably, the degree of skin brightening 4 to 20 hours after application is within 80 to 100% of the effect immediately after cleansing the face. More preferably, the degree of skin brightening is measured using a digital non-contact color measurement tool as described herein.
[0079] To assess color stability, color change (ΔE) was measured in the Hunter Lab color space L * , a * and b * where L * is a black-and-white space, and a * is the green-red space, and b * is a blue-yellow space. For example, larger L *A smaller b value means whiter * A higher value means more blue.
[0080] Images of the above aqueous solutions were captured at time zero (i.e., immediately after they were made) and at the end of the storage period (i.e., at the end of 4 weeks). All images were taken using a Hunter lab-scan XE instrument. * , a * and b * The data was converted into L at week 4 and week 0 (initial data). * , a * and b * Using the values of , ΔE was calculated by the following formula: [ka]
[0081] When used as a face mask, the application of the product can be carried out in the same way as any conventional face mask. For example, when an appropriate size portion of the product is taken out of the composition, the portion is then applied to the user's skin.Optionally, the portion can be mixed with a small amount of water and then applied to the user's skin. The applied composition can then be dried and typically left on the skin for up to about 30 minutes. The product is then washed off the skin. This also provides the user with a pleasant, soothing feeling when the product is washed off the skin.
[0082] Thus, the compositions of the present invention preferably provide long-lasting skin brightening, where the degree of skin brightening is measured as described herein using a digital non-contact color measurement tool.
[0083] According to another aspect, a method of providing long-lasting skin brightening is disclosed, comprising applying to the skin the cosmetic composition of the first aspect.
[0084] Preferably, the composition is applied as a face mask and left on the face for 10 to 45 minutes, followed by rinsing with water. More preferably, the skin brightening is still noticeable 4 to 20 hours after application. Even more preferably, the degree of skin brightening 4 to 20 hours after application is within 80 to 100% of the effect immediately after cleansing the face.
[0085] All other aspects of the present invention will become more readily apparent from a consideration of the detailed description of the invention and the examples that follow.
[0086] The following examples are provided to facilitate understanding of the invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the claims. [Example]
[0087] Example 1 The compositions are set forth in Table 1. Composition C was a control and composition 1 was according to the invention. [Table 2]
[0088] ΔE * The values were measured as described below and are summarized in Table 2. ΔE * The value is an index of brightening, which means radiant skin.
[0089] The clay mask was applied to a 50# Plain Bio-skin plate at a dose of 2 mg / cm. 2 It was.
[0090] The composition is allowed to dry for 30 minutes, and then photographs are taken using DigiEye (registered trademark). The L (for lightness), a and b (for opponent color coordinates) of these coated Bio-skin plates are measured using DigiEye Imaging System (Verivide, UK).Then, the plate is washed in a washing machine to simulate the normal steps that people take to wash their face. Then, the plate is dried under airflow, and then photographs are clicked again. The plate is allowed to dry for 20 hours, and then photographs are clicked again.
[0091] Skin color is measured from the image and expressed as CIE L * a * b * The values are expressed as L * represents the brightness (100 = white, 0 = black), and a * represents the green (-ve value) to red (+ve value) axis, and b * represents the axis from blue (-ve value) to yellow (+ve value). The change in brightness and red-green color before and after cream application is shown by L * The calculation was: =L(front)-L(back)·a=a(back)-a(front).
[0092] ΔE * The values were measured as follows: [ka] [Table 3]
[0093] The above data shows that: a) ΔE of Composition 1 30 minutes after application * was 5 points higher than the comparison composition. b) ΔE of Composition 1 immediately after washing the plate * was much higher than the comparative composition. c) 20 hours after washing the plate, ΔE of Composition 1 * remained the same as the value immediately after washing.
[0094] Thus, Composition 1 was much more effective at brightening or brightening the skin than the comparative composition.
