[0032] The present invention will be specifically explained below based on test examples, but the present invention is not limited to these. In the following examples, the blending amounts are expressed as mass %.
[0033] [Test Example 1] Oil-in-water compositions having the formulations shown in Table 1 below were prepared according to standard methods and evaluated for quick-drying properties, non-stickiness, and application uniformity. In the table, for "methylenebisbenzotriazolyltetramethylbutylphenol 50% aqueous phase dispersion," when the indicated amount is 3% by mass, half that amount, 1.5% by mass of methylenebisbenzotriazolyltetramethylbutylphenol, is contained in the composition.
[0034] (Evaluation criteria for quick-drying) ◎: When touching the applied area 30 seconds after application, there is no sense of moisture remaining and it feels as if the product has been absorbed into the skin. 〇: When I touched the applied area 30 seconds after applying it to my skin, I felt that there was almost no moisture remaining and it felt like it had absorbed into my skin. △: When I touched the applied area 30 seconds after application, I felt a slight moisture remaining and it didn't seem to have absorbed into my skin. ×: When touching the applied area 30 seconds after application, there is a strong feeling of moisture remaining and it does not seem to have absorbed into the skin.
[0035] (Evaluation criteria for non-stickiness) 〇: When you touch the applied area 30 seconds after applying it to the skin, it does not feel sticky. ×: Sticky feeling when touching the applied area 30 seconds after application to the skin
[0036] (Evaluation criteria for coating uniformity) 3 g of the composition was weighed out onto the artificial leather and applied evenly using a bar coder. The applied area was observed 10 minutes after application. ◎: The unevenness of the artificial leather was covered, and no unevenness was observed throughout the entire application area, allowing for a uniform application. 〇: The unevenness of the artificial leather was covered, and almost no unevenness was observed throughout the entire application area, allowing for a uniform application. △: The unevenness of the artificial leather was not covered, and unevenness was observed in some areas of the applied area, making it impossible to apply evenly. ×: The unevenness of the artificial leather was not covered, unevenness was observed over the entire applied area, and the application was not uniform.
[0037] [Table 1] *1 Tinosorb M (manufactured by BASF) *2 2501 Cosmeticwax (manufactured by Toray Dow Corning) *3 SS-2804 (Dow Corning Toray)
[0038] As shown in Table 1, the composition containing a benzotriazole-type UV absorber and silicone wax was superior in quick-drying, non-stickiness, and uniform application compared to the composition not containing silicone wax. As shown in Figure 1, in Comparative Example 1, the boundary between the skin ridge and skin groove of the artificial leather was clearly observed, the unevenness was not covered, and unevenness was observed in the application on the skin ridge, resulting in an inability to apply uniformly. On the other hand, in Example 1, compared to Comparative Example 1, the skin groove of the artificial leather could be applied, the unevenness was covered, and the application was uniform overall. The composition of the present invention is quick-drying and non-sticky, allowing the UV absorber to exert its UV protection effect immediately after application, and the uniform application allows for high UV protection effect.
[0039] [Test Example 2] Oil-in-water compositions having the formulations shown in Table 2 below were prepared in a conventional manner, and the coating uniformity and ease of spreading were evaluated. The evaluation criteria for coating uniformity were the same as in Test Example 1.
[0040] (Evaluation criteria for ease of spreading) 32.5 mg of the composition was weighed out and spread on a PMMA plate. 〇: Can be spread smoothly and does not feel any resistance on the fingertips △: Can be spread smoothly and there is almost no resistance to the fingertips ×: Could not spread smoothly and felt resistance on fingertips
[0041] [Table 2] *4 SIRICA MICRO BEAD P-500 (average particle size 2 μm, Lot: 048, manufactured by JGC Catalysts and Chemicals)
[0042] As shown in Table 2, the composition containing a benzotriazole-type UV absorber and silica was superior in coating uniformity and ease of spreading compared to a composition not containing silica. The composition of the present invention can be applied quickly because it is easy to spread, so the UV absorber can exhibit its UV protection effect immediately after application, and the coating uniformity allows for high UV protection effect.
[0043] [Test Example 3] Oil-in-water compositions having the formulations shown in Table 3 below were prepared in a conventional manner, and were evaluated for quick-drying properties, compatibility with the skin, and emulsification state. The evaluation criteria for quick-drying properties were the same as those in Test Example 1.
[0044] (Evaluation criteria for skin compatibility) Two minutes after application, the applied area and the unapplied skin surface were touched with a finger to compare the sensation of the product catching on the finger. ◎: The applied area feels very smooth and does not stick to the fingers compared to the skin surface where the product is not applied. 〇: The applied area feels smooth and does not catch on the fingers compared to the skin surface without application. △: The applied area feels like it catches on the fingers compared to the skin surface without application. ×: The applied area feels more catching on the fingers than the unapplied skin surface.
[0045] (Emulsion state evaluation standard 1: smoothness) Immediately after preparation, 80 g of the composition was placed in a 100 mL beaker, and the appearance of the emulsified state on the surface in contact with air was visually observed. ◎: No irregularities, very smooth 〇: No unevenness, smooth △: Slightly uneven ×: Uneven
[0046] (Emulsion state evaluation standard 2: gloss) Immediately after preparation, 80 g of the composition was placed in a 100 mL beaker, and the appearance of the emulsified state on the surface in contact with air was visually observed. ◎: Very shiny 〇: Shiny △: Slightly shiny ×: No gloss
[0047] [Table 3] *5 Decaglyn 5-ISV (Nikko Chemicals) *6 Tinosorb S (BASF) *7 Parsol MCX (manufactured by DSM) *8 Parsol SLX (manufactured by DSM) *9 Carbopol ETD2020 (manufactured by Lubrizol)
[0048] As shown in Table 3, the compositions containing a benzotriazole-type UV absorber and a silicone wax were superior in quick-drying properties, compatibility with the skin, and emulsification state compared to compositions that did not contain silicone wax or that contained a non-silicone synthetic wax instead of the silicone wax. Because the composition of the present invention is quick-drying and highly compatible with the skin, it is less likely to adhere to clothing or the skin immediately after application, providing a comfortable feel to the user.
[0049] Test Example 4 Oil-in-water compositions having the formulations shown in Table 4 below were prepared according to standard methods, and evaluated for compatibility with skin, friction resistance, and emulsification state. The evaluation criteria for compatibility with skin and emulsification state were the same as those in Test Example 3.
[0050] (Evaluation criteria for friction resistance) ◎: No change was observed even after rubbing the applied area with the fingers 10 times 2 minutes after application to the skin. 〇: There was almost no change even after rubbing the applied area with the fingers 10 times 2 minutes after application to the skin. △: Two minutes after application to the skin, the applied area was rubbed back and forth with the fingers 10 times, and white streaky clumps of the composition were observed. ×: Two minutes after application to the skin, the applied area was rubbed back and forth with the fingers 10 times, and large white streaky clumps of the composition were observed.
[0051] [Table 4] *10 Aerosil 200 (average particle size 12 nm, Lot: 616060881, manufactured by Nippon Aerosil Co., Ltd.) *11 SS-10V (Nikko Chemicals) *12 FZ-2233 (Dow Corning Toray Co., Ltd.)
[0052] As shown in Table 4, the composition containing a benzotriazole-type UV absorber and silica with an average particle size of 2 μm was superior in skin compatibility, friction resistance, and emulsification state compared to a composition containing silica with an average particle size of 12 nm and a composition containing 45% by mass of water. The composition containing silica with an average particle size of 12 nm had a very poor emulsification state, making it impossible to perform other evaluations. The composition of the present invention has high skin compatibility and friction resistance, so it is less likely to adhere to clothing or skin immediately after application, providing the user with a comfortable feel, and these effects last for a long time.
[0053] Test Example 5 Oil-in-water compositions having the formulations shown in Table 5 below were prepared according to standard methods, and were evaluated for quick-drying properties, skin compatibility, secondary adhesion, and emulsification state. The evaluation criteria for quick-drying properties were the same as those in Test Example 1. The evaluation criteria for skin compatibility and emulsification state were the same as those in Test Example 3.
[0054] (Evaluation criteria for secondary adhesion) 1 g of the composition was applied to the area from the wrist to the center of the elbow and allowed to stand for 10 seconds. 50 square pieces of paper, each 1 cm on a side, were dropped from a height of 10 cm from the applied area. After pressing the applied area once with the palm of the hand, the number of pieces of paper remaining on the applied area was counted. Next, with the applied area facing upward, the hand was moved back and forth horizontally over a distance of 15 cm 10 times, and the number of pieces of paper remaining on the applied area was counted. ◎: When you move your arm, all the paper pieces come off from the applied area. 〇: When you move your arm, more than 90% of the paper pieces come off from the applied area. △: When the arm is moved, more than 90% of the paper pieces remain on the application area. ×: When the arm is moved, more than 90% of the paper pieces remain on the applied area, and traces of the composition soaking into the attached paper pieces can be observed.
