Abstract

To provide a liquid discharge device which can reduce gloss banding.SOLUTION: A liquid discharge device according to one aspect of the present invention discharges an ultraviolet curable type liquid to a recording medium and includes a head having a nozzle array where a plurality of nozzles for discharging the liquid are aligned in a first direction, an irradiation part for irradiating the liquid on the recording medium with ultraviolet light, a moving mechanism for relatively moving the head and the recording medium, and a control part for controlling the discharge by the head so that the discharge amount of the liquid becomes small toward the end of the nozzle array compared to the central part of the nozzle array, wherein the control part controls the discharge by the head using masks where discharge amount data for regulating the discharge amounts for each of the nozzles are aligned in the first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the first direction; the masks include a plurality of divided regions divided in the second direction; and positions with a maximum difference of the discharge amount between the adjacent nozzles in the first direction are different for each of the plurality of divided regions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
