Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to an electric wheel assembly, and particularly to a tool-free quick-release type electric wheel assembly.
Background Art
[0002] Patent Document 1 discloses a foldable wheelchair provided with in-wheel motors. As is clear from the disclosed content, the wheel assemblies on both sides of the wheelchair have a connecting portion locked to a connecting rod at the rear side of the frame with a screw. In such a connecting method, when the usable space is insufficient for storing the folded wheelchair, there is still room for improvement in that the screw has to be removed using a tool and the wheel assembly and the frame have to be disassembled. In the case of a person with a disability, during the limited movement, if no cooperation from the surroundings is obtained, the disassembly process requires time and labor and is extremely inconvenient.
[0003] In view of the above, as a result of the inventor's efforts in research and invention, the research and development of the tool-free quick-release type electric wheel assembly of the present invention has finally been completed.

Summary of the Invention
Problems to be Solved by the Invention
[0005] An object of the present invention is to provide a tool-free quick-release type electric wheel assembly in order to solve the problems presented by the above prior art.
Means for Solving the Problems
[0006] Embodiments of the present invention provide a tool-free quick-release electric wheel assembly including a drive component and a quick-release component. The drive component has a drive shaft. A position regulating portion is provided on the outer peripheral wall of one end of the drive shaft. The other end of the drive shaft is assembled into an in-wheel motor. The quick-release component has a connector, a positioning member and a movable ring. The connector has a first assembly hole through which the drive shaft is assembled. The connector has a second assembly hole that communicates with the first assembly hole and corresponds to the position regulating portion. The positioning member is fitted into the second assembly hole. The movable ring is displaceably assembled to the connector. The inner peripheral wall of the movable ring abuts the positioning member in a selectable manner. The positioning member is displaceable in the second assembly hole. As a result, the positioning member selectively restricts the position regulating portion of the drive shaft. [Effects of the Invention]
[0007] The tool-free quick-release electric wheel assembly provided in this invention allows for rapid attachment and detachment of the drive components using quick-release parts. This is extremely convenient for people with physical disabilities, as they can perform the attachment and detachment process with only one hand, even when their movement is restricted or they cannot receive assistance from others, thus saving time and effort.
[0008] The above description merely details the problems that the present invention aims to solve, the technical means for solving those problems, and the resulting effects. [Modes for carrying out the invention]
[0010] To facilitate further understanding of the present invention by the examiner, preferred embodiments are given and described in detail below in conjunction with the drawings.
[0011] The present invention provides a tool-free quick-release electric wheel assembly. (See Figures 1 to 9 for reference.) The tool-free quick-release electric wheel assembly 10 includes a drive component 20 and a quick-release component 30.
[0012] Referring to Figures 1, 2, and 4-9, the drive component 20 will be described as follows.
[0013] The drive component 20 has a drive shaft 21. The drive shaft 21 is a columnar body. A position regulating portion 211 is provided on the outer peripheral wall of one end of the drive shaft 21. The position regulating portion 211 may be a circular annular groove. A first connecting structure 212 is provided on the outer peripheral wall of the drive shaft 21 along the extension direction of the drive shaft 21. The first connecting structure 212 consists of a first concave rib and a first convex rib that are connected in order. The position regulating portion 211 is provided on the first connecting structure 212. The groove walls on both sides of the groove of the position regulating portion 211 are connected to the first concave rib and the first convex rib of the first connecting structure 212, respectively.
[0014] Furthermore, the other end of the drive shaft 21 is assembled into the in-wheel motor 22. Additionally, a handle 221, which the user grips to move the in-wheel motor 22, is assembled to the end wall of the in-wheel motor 22 adjacent to the drive shaft 21. Furthermore, the outer circumferential wall of the in-wheel motor 22 is assembled to the inner circumferential wall of the wheel frame 23 by a plurality of spokes 24. One end of the drive shaft 21, having a position regulating portion 211, is provided on one side of the wheel frame 23. Furthermore, a handrim 25, which the user grips to rotate the wheel frame 23, is assembled to the other side of the wheel frame 23. Since the drive shaft 21 and the handrim 25 are located on opposite sides of the wheel frame 23, they do not affect each other's operation. Furthermore, a tire 26 is assembled to the outer circumferential wall of the wheel frame 23. Alternatively, the tire 26 may be assembled to the outer circumferential wall of the in-wheel motor 22. In other words, the tire 26 may be directly assembled to the in-wheel motor 22 without using the wheel frame 23 and spokes 24. Furthermore, because the drive component 20 has a small outer diameter, it is not suitable for use with the handrim 25.
[0015] Referring to Figures 2-9, the quick-release component 30 will be described as follows.
[0016] The quick-release component 30 includes a connecting body 31, a positioning member 32, a movable ring 33, an elastic member 34, a combination member 35, and a stopper 36.
[0017] The connector 31 of the quick release component 30 (see FIGS. 2 to 9) will be described as follows.
[0018] The connector 31 may be a hollow cylindrical body. In the connector 31, in the axial direction, a first assembly hole 311 into which the drive shaft 21 of the drive component 20 is assembled is penetratingly provided from one end wall toward the other end wall. Further, on the inner peripheral wall of the first assembly hole 311 of the connector 31, a second connection structure 3111 is provided corresponding to the first connection structure 212 of the drive shaft 21. The second connection structure 3111 is a second convex rib and a second concave rib that are connected in sequence and arranged side by side corresponding to the first connection structure 212. When the drive shaft 21 is inserted into the first assembly hole 311 with respect to the connector 31, the second connection structure 3111 and the first connection structure 212 are connected to each other, the first convex rib is fitted into the second concave rib, and the second convex rib is fitted into the first concave rib. Thus, after firmly connecting the connector 31 and the drive shaft 21, the in-wheel motor 22 becomes rotatable, and the tire 26 also rotates along with the in-wheel motor 22, so that the vehicle can move in the desired direction.
[0019] On the outer peripheral wall at one end of the connector 31, a second assembly hole 312 communicating with the first assembly hole 311 is provided in the radial direction corresponding to the position regulating portion 211 of the drive shaft 21. In the present invention, the number of the second assembly holes 312 may be six. Also, the six second assembly holes 312 are arranged on the outer peripheral wall at one end of the connector 31 at intervals in an annular shape and communicated with the first assembly hole 311.
[0020] On the outer peripheral wall of the connector 31 at a distance from the second assembly hole 312, further, a first convex portion 313 and a second convex portion 314 connected to the first convex portion 313 are provided. The first convex portion 313 and the second convex portion 314 are located between both ends of the connector 31. In the side view of the connector 31, the highest height of the outer peripheral wall of the first convex portion 313 (see FIGS. 6 and 7) is lower than the highest height of the outer peripheral wall of the second convex portion 314.
[0021] A first locking structure 315 is provided on the end wall of the second protrusion 314 adjacent to the first protrusion 313. The first locking structure 315 is a recessed groove that is bent (┐ shape, but not limited to this) in a plan view of the connecting body 31. Furthermore, the first locking structure 315 has a guide section 315A and an assembly section 315B connected to the guide section 315A on its end wall. In addition, a first bent section 315C (┐ shape, but not limited to this) is provided at the connection point between the guide section 315A and the assembly section 315B.
[0022] The positioning member 32 of the quick-release component 30 (see Figures 2-9) will be described below.
[0023] The positioning member 32 may be a bead. The positioning member 32 is fitted into the second assembly hole 312. In this invention, the number of positioning members 32 may be six, and the six positioning members 32 may be fitted into each of the second assembly holes 312. The number of positioning members 32 may be based on the number of second assembly holes 312.
[0024] The movable ring 33 of the quick-release component 30 (see Figures 2-9) will be described below.
[0025] The movable ring 33 may be a hollow columnar body. The inner circumferential wall of the movable ring 33 and the outer circumferential wall of the connecting body 31 are molded to have similar contours. The movable ring 33 (see Figures 6 and 7) is assembled to the connecting body 31 so as to be displaceable.
[0026] A third protrusion 331 is provided on the inner circumferential wall of one end of the movable ring 33. The third protrusion 331 selectively contacts the positioning member 32. The positioning member 32 is displaced in the second assembly hole 312. As a result, the positioning member 32 selectively restricts the position restricting portion 211 of the drive shaft 21.
[0027] Furthermore, the inner circumferential wall of the movable ring 33 and the outer circumferential wall of the connecting body 31 constitute path A (see Figures 6 and 7). Path A is formed by the end wall of the third protrusion 331 and the inner circumferential wall connected to the end wall of the movable ring 33, and the end wall of the first protrusion 313 and the outer circumferential wall connected to the end wall of the connecting body 31. The end wall of the third protrusion 331 can face the end wall of the first protrusion 313. Also, the inner circumferential wall connected to the end wall of the third protrusion 331 can face the outer circumferential wall connected to the end wall of the first protrusion 313.
[0028] A second locking structure 332 is provided on the end wall of the other end of the movable ring 33. The installation position of the first locking structure 315 in the connecting body 31 corresponds to the installation position of the second locking structure 332 in the movable ring 33. The positions of the first and second locking structures 315 and 332 may be changed as needed, provided that they are detachable from each other.
[0029] The second locking structure 332 is a convex member that is bent (┐ shape, but not limited to this) in a side view of the movable ring 33. The second locking structure 332 engages with the first locking structure 315 of the connecting body 31 and locks as the movable ring 33 is sequentially displaced in the axial direction and continuously rotated in the radial direction. Conversely, by simply sequentially rotating in the radial direction and continuously displacing in the axial direction, they can be separated and unlocked from each other.
[0030] Furthermore, the second lock structure 332 has an extended section 332A and a combination section 332B connected to the extended section 332A at its end wall. A second bent section 332C (┐-shaped, but not limited to this) is provided at the connection point between the extended section 332A and the combination section 332B. The combination section 332B of the second lock structure 332 in the movable ring 33 is locked by combining with the assembly section 315B of the first lock structure 315 in the connecting body 31 as the movable ring 33 is sequentially displaced in the axial direction of the guide section 315A and continuously rotates radially in the assembly section 315B. Conversely, by simply sequentially rotating radially and continuously displacing axially in the opposite direction, they can be disassembled and unlocked.
[0031] The elastic member 34 of the quick-release component 30 (see Figures 3-7) will be described below.
[0032] The elastic member 34 may be a spring. The elastic member 34 is fitted into the path A, and both ends abut against the third protrusion 331 and the first protrusion 313, respectively. As a result, the movable ring 33 is assembled to the connecting body 31 so as to be elastically displaceable. As the movable ring 33 and the connecting body 31 are displaced relative to each other, the volume of the path A changes, and the amount of deformation of the elastic member 34 changes, thereby achieving elastic displacement.
[0033] The combination member 35 of the quick-release component 30 (see Figures 2-9) will be described below.
[0034] The combination member 35 is a block body. Two first lugs 351 are symmetrically formed at one end of the combination member 35. A third mounting hole 352, which is assembled to the outer circumferential wall of the connecting body 31, is formed between the two first lugs 351. The ends of the two first lugs 351 are locked by a first mounting member 353. This securely connects the two first lugs 351 to the connecting body 31. Furthermore, it facilitates the attachment and detachment of the two first lugs 351 and the connecting body 31. The number of first mounting members 353 may be two, but is not limited to two. In the embodiment using two first mounting members 353, it is possible to lock them with a gap between them. Furthermore, the first mounting member 353 may be a screw, but is not limited to a screw.
[0035] Two second lugs 354 are symmetrically formed at the other end of the combination member 35. A fourth mounting hole 355, which is assembled to the wheelchair frame, is formed between the two second lugs 354. The ends of the two second lugs 354 are locked by a second mounting member 356. This securely connects the two second lugs 354 to the frame and makes it easy to attach and detach the two second lugs 354 from the frame. The connecting body 31 is also securely connected to the frame via the combination member 35. The number of second mounting members 356 may be three, but is not limited to three. In the embodiment using three second mounting members 356, it is possible to lock them at intervals. The second mounting members 356 may be screws, but is not limited to screws.
[0036] The fourth assembly hole 355 is located above the third assembly hole 352. In a plan view of the combined member 35, the extension direction of the fourth assembly hole 355 is projected to intersect with the extension direction of the third assembly hole 352.
[0037] When combining the combination member 35 and the connecting body 31, the side wall of the combination member 35 connected to the opening at one end of the third assembly hole 352 abuts against the end wall of the second protrusion 314 on the connecting body 31. Furthermore, the side wall of the combination member 35 connected to the opening at the other end of the third assembly hole 352 abuts against the end wall of the third assembly member 316 that is locked to the connecting body 31. The third assembly member 316 may be a nut, but is not limited to a nut. In embodiments where a nut is used as the third assembly member 316, a threaded section 317 may be provided on the outer peripheral wall of the other end of the connecting body 31 to facilitate locking the third assembly member 316.
[0038] The combination member 35 is restricted by the second protrusion 314 and the third assembly member 316 of the connecting body 31, thereby preventing any arbitrary displacement of the combination member 35. As a result, the combination member 35 is securely connected to the connecting body 31. In addition, the combination member 35 is also securely connected to the frame.
[0039] Furthermore, a spacer 318 is provided between the combination member 35 and the third assembly member 316 to prevent wobbling, vibration, or rotation of the combination member 35 and the third assembly member 316. The spacer 318 may be a packing or a spring washer.
[0040] The stopper 36 of the quick-release component 30 (see Figures 3-9) will be explained as follows.
[0041] The stopper 36 may be a hollow ring. The stopper 36 is attached to the edge of the connecting body 31 near the second mounting hole 312 in order to block the movable ring 33 and prevent the movable ring 33 from falling out of the connecting body 31.
[0042] Referring to Figures 5-9, the usage process of the drive component 20 and the quick-release component 30 will be explained below.
[0043] When a user wants to remove the drive shaft 21, or the drive shaft 21 and the in-wheel motor 22, they first lock the first lock structure 315 and the second lock structure 332 together with one hand. This eliminates the need to continuously apply a force to the movable ring 33 that resists the elastic force of the elastic member 34. As a result, the positioning member 32 is no longer restricted by the third protrusion 331 and can move radially through the second mounting hole 312. At this time, the position restricting portion 211 of the drive shaft 21 is also no longer restricted by the positioning member 32 and can move axially through the first mounting hole 311. Furthermore, the positioning member 32 is pressed by the first convex rib of the axially moving first connecting structure 212 and displaced toward the outer circumferential wall of the connecting body 31 within the second mounting hole 312. This allows the user to remove the drive shaft 21, or the drive shaft 21 and the in-wheel motor 22, from the connecting body 31 with one hand.
[0044] When a user wants to assemble the drive shaft 21, or the drive shaft 21 and the in-wheel motor 22, they first attach the drive shaft 21, or the drive shaft 21 and the in-wheel motor 22, to the connecting body 31 with one hand. Next, the user detaches the first lock structure 315 and the second lock structure 332 with one hand to release the lock. As a result, the movable ring 33 is displaced on the connecting body 31 by the elastic force of the elastic member 34. Consequently, the positioning member 32 is pressed by the third protrusion 331 and displaced within the second mounting hole 312 toward the first mounting hole 311. At this time, the position restricting portion 211 of the drive shaft 21 is restricted by the positioning member 32 and becomes unable to move in the axial direction of the first mounting hole 311.
[0045] The terms "first," "second," "third," and "fourth," etc., used in this invention are for distinction purposes only and do not indicate an order.
[0046] In summary, the tool-free quick-release electric wheel assembly 10 provided in this invention allows for rapid attachment and detachment of the drive component 20 using the quick-release component 30. This is extremely convenient for people with physical disabilities, as they can perform the attachment and detachment process with only one hand, even when their movement is restricted or they cannot receive assistance from others, thus saving time and effort.
[0047] Finally, the embodiments disclosed above are not limiting to the present invention. Those skilled in the art can make various modifications and additions without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention, and any such modifications and additions can be protected by the present invention. Accordingly, the scope of protection of the present invention should be based on the provisions of the appended claims. [Explanation of symbols]
